I am writing to share some feedback about our recent stay with you. We were so excited to return, as my wife and I had such an incredible experience staying here during our honeymoon back in 2019. This time was especially meaningful because it was my father-in-law’s very first trip to Hawaii, and we couldn't wait to share that same special Aloha spirit with him. Unfortunately, this stay fell far short of the high standard we were expecting. Months ago, when we reserved our two rooms, we explicitly requested connecting rooms in a quiet corner. However, upon check-in, the staff member assisting us felt unwelcoming and lacked the warmth we remembered. More importantly, we were placed directly adjacent to active construction work—the exact opposite of a quiet corner—without any advance warning or mention at check-in. Because we were out exploring during the day, we didn't notice the construction until our final full day. The night before had been particularly rough: two neighboring guests were arguing loudly in the hallway, and my father-in-law actually saw through his peephole as one of them pulled the fire alarm around 1:30 AM. It terrified and woke up our 3-year-old daughter, and none of us were able to get back to sleep until 5:00 AM. Desperately needing rest, we tried to take a nap that afternoon, only to be met with constant drilling sounds and heavy vibrations coming through our walls. When I called the front desk to report the noise, they did offer to move us to a different room. However, by that point, our daughter was already exhausted and desperately needed her nap, and packing up two rooms to move on our very last day would have been far too stressful and disruptive. Given our request for a quiet location and the fact that our booking listed a young child, placing us in or near actively under-construction rooms in the first place felt particularly inconsiderate. We came here to relax and create special memories, but between the sleep disruption and the unannounced construction, our final day was deeply stressful. We truly love your property, which is why it breaks my heart to write this, but I felt it was important to bring it to your attention so future guests—especially families—don't experience the same thing. I hope you will review how construction room assignments and guest care are handled going forward.

The value king of Waikiki is Hyatt Place! Although at the edge of Waikiki, every part of the beach is stunning. Although the considered the budget choice of the three Waikiki Hyatt brands, it provides the best balance of value and amenities. The free breakfast included every morning is actually quite excellent with fresh coffee, scrambled eggs, protein (bacon, sausage, or chicken), fruit, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, and more. It also has selections for Japanese and Korean guests with kimchi, miso soup, and rice. Such an underrated amenity to simply wake up, grab a good warm meal, and start your adventure with zero fuss and wait! Construction was audible in my room but I was out for most of the days so it did not bother me at all and was done before I returned. Otherwise the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff did appear very busy but overall was friendly and attentive. Place is nothing super luxurious. It had the least desirable location, the least impressive rooms, and service was the most hectic of the Hyatts. But that is relative. For a pure value choice in Waikiki, it was simply the best overall stay. And in today's economic climate, that does count for a lot.
We had a fantastic stay at Hyatt Place Waikiki! The hotel is in a perfect location, just a short walk from Waikiki Beach, restaurants, and shops. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, and the complimentary breakfast was a great start to each day. A special thank you to Dino and Bojan for their exceptional hospitality. They were always friendly, welcoming, and eager to help, making our stay even more enjoyable. We also want to mention that, despite reading some comments about the elevators, we had no issues at all. The elevators were efficient during our stay, and everything went smoothly. We highly recommend Hyatt Place Waikiki and would happily stay here again!
My friends and I had a great stay at Hyatt Place Waikiki! The location was perfect—close enough to the main Waikiki strip that everything was easily walkable, but just far enough away to enjoy a quieter atmosphere. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our stay. They made us feel well taken care of and were always happy to help whenever we had questions or needed anything. Overall, it was a great experience, and we’d definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Honolulu. Highly recommend!
Considering the price, it's a great option. Location was just a short walk to the beach. Breakfast was rather limited compared to other hotels that offer breakfast, but it was good enough, and helped avoid the hassle of trying to find breakfast before going out to enjoy the day. Sometimes they offered packaged breakfast sandwiches. I wish they offered this as one of the options daily - it's really helpful for people that need to get a quick breakfast before taking off on an adventure. Coffee was hot and constantly refilled. I never saw any of the breakfast offerings (drinks, food, etc) go empty. Breakfast tip - get there as soon as it opens (6:30) to avoid the long wait for the elevator. Make sure you are ready to go for the day, and don't try to get back to your room until after the breakfast rush. Enough about food - let's talk about the room. We asked for (and received) adjoining rooms. What this got us was basically a front door to the hallway, a mini entry way, and then our two rooms splitting off from that entry way. Made it so we could prop both room doors open so we could pass between them and still have the outer door secure. Great option. One room was bigger than the other, but they had the same features. Basic, clean and spacious. My complaints would be that water pressure could have been higher, and windows were a bit thin and allowed a lot of street noise in. 8th floor room. A less known feature is that they have beach goodies to borrow. We borrowed boogie boards and beach chairs. They said they also have sand toys. Valet parking was a problem on the first day as it was already full. They told me to come back after checkout (11AM) so that I could secure a spot. Once your car has a valet spot, it's yours the entire stay. Once I had valet, they were great. They got me my car every morning within a few minutes. One more food thing - there is a Dominos pizza down stairs. It's twice the price of mainland, but probably still cheaper than most other Waikiki food options. Great option when the whole crew is tired.
