Everything about our stay at Halepuna Waikiki by Halekulani was perfect. The location is excellent, steps from the beach. The hotel, pool, room and restaurant were all impeccably clean, and so were the beach towels and beach bag provided to guests. The staff handling the towels were always smiling and upbeat, and every team member we met was attentive and welcoming. The elevators were fast and efficient. A very special touch: for my wife's birthday, the hotel surprised us with a bottle of wine, a gesture that made the occasion even more memorable. We highly recommend this hotel.
Just checked in to Halepuna today after a somewhat long international flight. The reception was efficient and courteous, and our room was ready early which was a lovely bonus! We have a 9th floor ocean view room on the right hand side of the building and the view is great. The ocean view is between 2 buildings but still gorgeous. From our balcony we are watching surfers, paddle boarders, boats and yachts so we really feel we are on holiday in Hawaii 🌴. The room is spotlessly clean and I love that we have a bathtub (and very fancy toilet). Can’t comment on hotel facilities as we’ve only been here for a day and haven’t used any yet. We needed a few extras from room service and Davie was excellent! He was quick to bring us what we needed and had a really nice manner. A pleasure to interact with. Thx Davie ☺️
Now if I was going to be really picky the only cons in the room would be that the wardrobe hanging space is a bit too small for 2 of us (although there are drawers) and the balcony is very small. The location is central and so far we have walked to Royal Hawaiian centre and international market place no problem. We’re surrounded by shops and restaurants and really like the area. Fingers crossed the hotel facilities match everything else we’ve experienced so far.
Outstanding property - quite new and fantastic location by the beach. Very courteous staff and the front desk / manager are so nice. The property is so clean and they pay attention to all details. Umi restaurant in the hotel is very nice and they have amazing breakfast. And Halekulani bakery next door is superb! Overall a terrific place and it is so reasonably priced for its quality. This was our second time here and I am sure there will be many more visits in the future!
Fantastic place to stay! The staff goes over the top to serve ! The valet group is so nice and accommodating, offering boogie boards, towels for the beach upon arrival. The best part, is that they let you use the shower if you have a late flight back to the mainland, you can go to the beach, enjoy the day while the valet watches your luggage, come back to the hotel for a shower and then off to the airport refreshed. I love this place, so nice, I believe it is Japanese owned and they really show out on service and quality. The pool is so nice and relaxing when you wanna get away from the Waikiki crowds. The gym has everything you need. Clean to a T and the Toto toilets were awesome.
We stayed twice (3 day stays) this past month. Excellent hotel and a reasonable value for this amazing location and fantastic ocean views. They also give you a free reusable water bottle to cut back on plastic. We included a free breakfast at their on site upscale restaurant- UMI. The hostess Abby was SO delightful, as were the servers like Katie.
We had some complexity with our first stay room reservation and Eric at the front seat was awesome fixing everything.
The rooms are very nice, so clean, and comfortable beds. The housekeeper staff is friendly as are the bellman. Guests parked for free during the day - which we did daily with family in town coming over to visit us. We walked to everything during all our stays. Their beach is not the best, but you just need to walk for a few minutes to get to other great beaches like the Sheridan or Royal Hawaiian.
One thing to be mindful of is that Uber and Lyft seem to have trouble finding this place for pick ups, so be sure to set the pin correctly or be able to contact your driver if needed.
Overall, it’s not overly fancy, but it’s beautiful and a great place to stay.
