Love it!! Very LGBT friendly! My wife and I went for our honeymoon and my brother-in-laws wedding. We were treated with kindness and respect. Only downside was the toilet, it starts to spray deodorizer the second you sit down, it caused a rash

Everyone here is very kind and helpful! They have the best drinks and we love spending time by the pool and at the gym — it’s an incredible place to relax. When we first got here, we couldn’t get used to the pillows that were provided and the staff went out of their way to find us foam pillows and tempur-pedic pillows. Can’t say enough nice things
We paid approximately $1,200 including taxes for our stay at Halekulani, and unfortunately, we did not feel the experience came anywhere close to justifying that price. We were traveling as a family of four — my wife, our two children, and me. The room had two very small beds, and we actually had to push the two beds together just so all four of us could fit and sleep. Even after doing that, it was uncomfortable and not what we expected after paying around $1,200 for a luxury hotel. We arrived very late at night with our children and all of our luggage. We were exhausted and desperate to find somewhere safe to stay. We did not want to continue walking around late at night with our kids and luggage looking for another hotel, so we stayed. For a hotel charging this kind of price and presenting itself as a luxury five-star property, we expected much better accommodations, comfort, and service. Based on our personal experience, we simply did not see what justified the five-star reputation or the extremely high price. The one part we genuinely enjoyed was the beautiful warm outdoor pool. Our children enjoyed it, and that was the highlight of our stay. Overall, we felt this hotel was extremely overpriced for what our family received. Paying around $1,200 and then having to physically push two small beds together just so a family of four could sleep was very disappointing.
All I can say is it’s worth every penny you pay. My wife and I spent the start of our honeymoon here and even by the end it was our favourite place we stayed. The rooms are gorgeous and setup well, it’s an older hotel but the rooms are up to date and very aesthetic. But the thing we loved the most was the service. The staff were fantastic/friendly and so happy to be there. They would offer to take pictures of us get us new towels. Every time we would want service they knew and were there before we even asked. They were so attentive that we were just dumbfounded at how good it was. It really made our day. The next thing I will say is the breakfast buffet is probably the most unique experience I had. If you want a traditional Japanese style breakfast buffet with miso soup, karage and an assortment of other items it’s the best I’ve had. You also have all your typical American options but the Japanese options were the highlight for sure. Both me and my wife would stay here again. Also to top it all off the location is perfect for exploring Honolulu by foot.
Wow, we stayed at the Halekulani for four nights and had a wonderful time. What stands out is the kindness, thoughtfulness and professionalism of the entire staff. They thought of ways to help that I did not expect (especially the staff at Orchids and pool staff). The bar for excellent service has been set high at this resort. Our meals at House Without A Key were delicious and we enjoyed the live music and hula performance on two beautiful evenings. We celebrated a birthday dinner at Orchids and the food was wonderful: presentation was beautiful, seasoning perfect and the setting at sunset with a view of Diamond Head was perfect. Honestly, the food at the hotel is far better than any of the nearby restaurants and the chefs and culinary team should be recognized for excellent service and cuisine. The resort is super clean and is a serene sanctuary away from the hustle of Waikiki. The Halekulani Bakery is across the street and provided some yummy pastries for breakfast. Fitness center, while small, was very clean and had all of the equipment I needed for my workouts. They also held yoga and other fitness classes but I wasn’t able to participate. This was our first visit and we will definitely return in the future.
