We stayed at AEI at the Aston Maui Kaanapali Resort and had a great experience. The location is excellent in Kaanapali, close to Whalers Village and Kapalua Bay, which is a great area for snorkeling and surfing. The rooms and guest areas were very clean and well maintained. Our suite had a full kitchen with all the necessary cookware, which made it easy to prepare meals when we didn’t want to go out to a restaurant. The suite also included a washer and dryer, which was very convenient. The hotel offers barbecue areas, both covered and uncovered, which were easy to use and located around the pool. The pool area was quiet and relaxing, with a hot tub, and the beach was beautiful. There is a beachfront path with a secure access code that connects nearby resorts, making it ideal for walking or running. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was consistently good. Parking was free. Please note that room cleaning services are available for an additional fee. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
Amazing experience. I paid for a courtyard room, but to my surprise, I still had a view of the ocean! I saw the best sunset of my life from that balcony. My room was a junior suite, so I had a full kitchen, a nice big bed, TV, balcony with a shade, table, and two chairs, and of course, the bathroom. I wish I stayed longer, which would have been easier and cheaper to do with that little kitchen. Everything was so convenient – there is a Hawaiian BBQ restaurant and a grocery store right across the street, as well as a snorkel Bob’s. They were so friendly and helpful there and helped me book an excursion after the one I booked from home wasn’t great. There is also a food truck court, with some local craft artisans, right next-door. The hotel itself had at least three stores! A convenience store, which was really helpful when I had a brutal, hangover, a store for cute souvenirs, and a store for fishing and snorkeling gear, which also came in handy. They had a full restaurant that served breakfast lunch and dinner, plus a stand that had coffee and breakfast pastries. They have a concierge that can help you book all kinds of excursions right in the hotel. The bellhop can call you a taxi. I went in the off-season and the taxi driver ended up being available every time I needed him, so I felt like a princess with my own personal driver all week. He was also the nicest man and just added up my ride, so I only had to pay once at the end of the week. The staff was great. They had a big pool and a hot tub, which were only steps from the beach! The beach, of course was a blast. It was really nice being able to just spend a few minutes there in between everything else I was doing, and watching the sunset with my partner. It was an incredibly romantic place. While I was there, an endangered Hawaiian monk seal was melting and resting on the beach, and they corded off the area to give it some rest and keep tourists away. I appreciate that they protected him. I have already recommended this resort to my family.
