Walking Street Food Tour In Hanoi And Train Street

I had the most amazing day with Emory on the Street Food and Train Street tour, today. We were a small group of 4. Emory spoke extremely good English and explained some of the history of Hanoi. She took me to 5 different restaurants with different specialities and the food was absolutely delicious. She spoke about the food and how healthy the Vietnamese people are. She was extremely considerate, polite, well mannered and professional. I was thrilled to hear that she is doing a university degree in tourism as I think she would me absolutely perfect for this career. She is such a delight and her manager is very fortunate to have her representing his company.

My husband and I had the immense pleasure of attending a food tour with Emory. She gave us an authentic, knowledgeable, and rememberable tour. Emory taught us the history behind the food, showed us how some is made, and took us to only the best places that she would also eat at. The food was amazing and we loved trying new Vietnamese dishes. We walked away from this experience with a new friend and a love for foods we would have never tried without taking the tour.

We had a great time on this tour. The food was great, and we learned a lot about Vietnamese food and culture. Our guide, Quinn, was very informative and personable. She explained a lot and took good care of us. She even fanned us during the hot, humid evening. The visit to Train Street was a hoot. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Hanoi

Emory was so lovely and took us to so many places we wouldn’t have known about. She took us to a great spot on train street that was quiet and we were able to get great pictures as it drove past. We would really recommend a food and drink tour with Emory!!

The day with Messi was excellent. His. Knowledge of Vietnam, Hanoi, the food and customs made for an extremely rich experience, we found it to be a valuable way of engaging with Hanoi. He took us down streets we hadn’t been, up stairs we wouldn’t have gone and tasted food with a new perspective due to the knowledge he was giving along the way. He’s also a very nice man, very humble and funny.

We had a great time with Emory on this tour! She even accommodated one of us who was a pescatarian. All of the food was delicious and she took us to some really interesting places. We had a blast!

Our guide was Ha, 'Messi', a pleasant young guide and it was lovely to told about the background to the food we were trying, how to best eat it and some of it's cultural history. At times his English made it a bit hard to follow what he was saying, and whilst not an issue for us, I would encourage him to a bit more attentive to any mobility issues in the group so that choose his route between venues and the pace to be more manageable for everyone. That aside, he made it a fun evening and I enjoyed the opportunity to learn a bit more local life, him and the food of his nation.

I had such a great experience on the walking food tour. Woods my guide ended up having only me on the tour so was a great experience getting to see and try a variety of foods I never would have tried. Woods had great knowledge of the area and of history itself. Loved it!

This is a good food tour. The food was very good. The guide was just OK. The meeting point was a little confusing because the link from Trip Advisor took me to a different location. Once I entered the actual address into Google maps I found it. Fortunately, the actual meeting point was only 5 minutes away. The tour felt long which was possibly due to the guide. He was nice but hard to understand and not naturally engaging. I would still recommend it overall.

Emory (Em) was incredibly talented guide. Extremely knowledgeable about food, history, and Hanoi culture. She took me to some incredible food spots, and some hidden gems. I felt like a local eating with a friend rather than on a guided tour. Would recommend for anyone looking to have a fun cultural experience and see the real side of Hanoi. 10/10! I highly recommend booking with her. I will likely do this again next time in Vietnam.

He did a great job of explaining each thing about the food and he was helpful with our random questions about Hanoi. We had good conversations and he was very professional. Even though it was mid day and super hot, we had a great time.

My guide was Kevin who communicated quickly and gave clear instructions on where and when to meet. At each location he gave me the background of the dishes and cultural tips on foods at breakfast, snacks and dinner. The choices were fabulous and walking around between locations was easy. The train street location was a good choice and the best side of the track for train safety. Kevin also gave some other recommendations for the next day lunch. An enjoyable evening to experience local foods and culture.

What a fantastic way to experience Hanoi! Marcus Nguyen was an excellent guide — knowledgeable, friendly, organised and, most importantly, just a really great person to spend a few hours with. Marcus took me to some fantastic local food spots and introduced me to dishes I probably wouldn’t have found on my own. But what made the tour stand out was that it wasn’t just about the food. He shared interesting stories about Hanoi’s history, culture and neighbourhoods, which gave me a much better understanding of the city. He was incredibly efficient without making the tour feel rushed. I had plenty of time to stop, look around, explore and take photos whenever something caught my attention. And somewhere along the way, Marcus went from being my tour guide to my unofficial photographer! 😂 He was more than happy to take photos and even had great suggestions for places to see and things to try. He clearly knows Hanoi, knows his food and knows how to make a visitor feel comfortable and welcome. I had a genuinely fun afternoon and got to experience a side of Hanoi I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. Highly recommend this tour — come for the food, stay for the stories, and hopefully you get a guide as much of a vibe as Marcus! 😊🇻🇳

Marcus took me on his scooter and showed me some excellent authentic restaurant. I tasted different kind of local cuisine and it was well guided throughout the tour. I really recommend this to everyone.

Me and Emory had a great time as she showed me all the off the beaten track places to go, all the food was amazing that I tried. In the end it was just the 2 of us but that worked out in my favour as she was able to tailor it to my liking. Well worth the time if you want to experience true Vietnamese food.

The tour guide, Emory, is an excellent guide who really spent not only quality time with me but also shared about the history and local perspective of interesting locations. I was fortunate to be the only guest and was able to learn a lot of Vietnamese culture and the local knowledge of Hanoi. The food tasting was fabulous in particular the local food was authentic and tasty. I told Emory that the tour has met all my objectives and expectations of the days. I would rate her 5 out of 5 of her performance.

Messi was very kind, accommodating, and also fun to be with as a tour guide! He is very knowledgeable about Hanoi, Vietnamese food & culture, history, and shared many wonderful stories about the food we ate, the restaurants, and more. We learned a lot from him. He was patient and also entertained my dad’s requests to see certain restaurants within the area and even took great photos of us! We enjoyed all the food stops we tried in this tour and his company. Highly recommend to do this tour in your first few days in Hanoi to get a glimpse of the city and eat like a true local!

What a great tour to do to find out about the local dishes and culture.5 stops with food and drink as well as the famous egg coffee. The stop at Train st was epic. Great position to grab a drink and to see it in all its glory. Our guides Ethan and luka were brilliant, very informative and chatty, they kept an eye on us with the road crossing etc. very good English. Great value for money.

Messy was a great guide once we met up with him. He had great stories to shares and gave us lots of useful info information. He made sure we had options for those of us who don’t eat seafood.

Our guide Messi, took us on a two hour amazing adventurous experience around the old town of Hanoi- he knew all the local food places and showed us the local meals and explained everything about what to eat, how to eat etc. We stopped at a temple on the way to peep in, we heard legends of the lake and we were surprised by the huge train street experience with literally front row seats! Messi was very nice, helped us with planning our other adventures with his local knowledge. He was friendly, informative and it was a really fun experience.

This food oriented walking tour was the perfect way to start our first day in Hà Nội. Our guide “Messi” was friendly, informative and good fun. As a family of 5 it can be hard to please everyone all of the time but we all agreed that this tour was a success. In

What a day!! If you're lucky enough to get Quinn a a guide, you will be in for an amazing few hours, she was bright, enthusiastic, charming, funny and very knowledgable, she genuinely seem to love showing Hanoi off, we stopped at 4 ,yes 4 different eateries!! Word of advice, save space for the meals. All are at proper street food seller, small, local and probably places you'd never consider normally, all were amazing (we especially enjoyed the self made rolls). Train street itself was way way better than I expected, I honestly thought we would struggle to get a good spot and photos etc, but Quinn had arragnged a seat for us at a cafe, beer and drinks (not cocktails) included in the price!!. The day was very much at our pace, we could not have asked for a better day.

My family and I had a great day today exploring all the local food spots in the area and hearing about the history behind some of the buildings. Overall I would recommend this tour for people who don’t know the area well and want to try all the delicious local food spots!!
