This tour was amazing and we would recommend it to anyone while visiting Hanoi. We were lucky to have Zuri as our guide, a real sweetheart who made our night memorable. We went places and ate street food we would never experienced on our own

As we move to our next stop, get ready to indulge in Bun cha, a dish with a perfect balance of flavors that will satisfy any meat lover's cravings.
We will pass by Hang Ma street for a Banh mi. This place is known for its bustling markets and shops selling traditional Vietnamese items like lanterns, paper goods, and decorations. Take a moment to savor the flavors while soaking up the vibrant energy of this lively street.
Just a few steps away from the Banh mi, we will hit the next destination - the Comb street. You won't want to leave Hanoi without trying one of our delectable noodle soups.
As you may know, this is one of the city's busiest and oldest markets that offers a wide range of products except food. Our next stop is just some steps far away from the market.
This bustling street may be small, but it offers a wide variety of delectable treats to tantalize your taste buds. And this time, we'll introduce you to one of Hanoi's most traditional desserts that you can savor here.
You may be feeling quite full after Thanh Ha street, but stay chill, we have a light treat in store for you. And if you have a sweet tooth, be warned - you won't be able to resist these irresistible delights.
This is our last stop! It's time to have some coffee, or other drinks if coffee is not in your list. We will relax, chat, and you will hear more stories about Hanoi, our people and culture.

The best way to experience the food in Hanoi. Can’t recommend more. The best tour guide with Zuri she took us to places you just wouldn’t find by yourself and shared stories with us as well. All the food was amazing.
What an excellent tour this was. Our friendly host was knowledgable about the local cuisine, history and culture of Hanoi. We explored the old quarter on foot at a very manageable pace. We sampled foods and restaurants we’d never find on our own. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hanoi. A great experience and value for money.
This has been the highlight of our trip so far. We learnt so much about Hanoi and its old quarter. We tasted so much delicious food that we never would have found by ourselves. Our lovely guide Chi made us feel like old friends that she was showing her beautiful city to. Highly recommend.
The street walking tour was just perfect !!! My guide Casey was really interesting and not only for the food parts for interesting fact on the city , the booking was easy and the organisation was perfect , its was beyond my expectations !!!
We had a great family tour with Chi. She introduced us to traditional foods we possibly wouldn't have tried, which were great. Our kids particularly liked getting to choose a wooden stamp to be engraved with the names and painting the wooden dragonflies. Of our 3 weeks travelling through various areas of Vietnam, this tour was definitely a highlight for us.
I highly recommend this tour! Casey (Chau) was our guide and she took us off the beaten track of the old quarter to places we would never have known about. We tried dishes we would not have previously thought to try. But we are so pleased we did! We came away with full tummies, big smiles and armed with a full appreciation of local dishes. The food was fresh and delicious, Casey was fun and engaging with excellent English and knowledge of the history and provenance of the food we ate.
We had a lovely time stoping at very good street food, and gained a lot of knowledge from our guide.
Casey was our exceptional guide from Beyond Vietnam who took us to hidden gems throughout the Old Quarter. We were treated to a variety of delicious dishes and lots of stories about the food, culture and history of the area. Casey’s enthusiasm for her job makes her a wonderful ambassador for Hanoi. Highly recommend
Our family had a great day with Casey and Sienna on the Hanoi Family Quest. It was our son’s fifth birthday and he was very excited about the breadth of experiences; from trying local foods, seeing and experiencing local culture and creative opportunities - our guides were wonderful, thoughtful hosts that shared their own personal experiences and stories, infused with a fun and adventurous tour. They were fantastic with our little ones ranging from 2-7 years old (we had four kiddos with us) and kept them entertained, engaged and were playful during the four hour experience. They also presented our son with a birthday cake to celebrate the occasion. Thank you for such a special tour of this beautiful city.
When you read about food tours, it can be overwhelming. There are so many to choose from. We wanted to use a small company and to have an authentic experience of the food culture . We made the right choice. Beyond Vietnam is exactly as they describe themselves. They are beyond the tourist places . In fact you will not see another tourist in the places where you eat. Casey, our guide, was so sweet and took great care of us. I am a foodie and my husband is not. I explained to him , that a good tour is not onky about eating, it teaches so much about Vietnam culture . He was happy that he came. I can’t imagine a better experience seeing the old quarter. I left with a full stomach as well as a full heart .
Casey our guide was fantastic. Her knowledge of the food, how to eat it, the culture and society of Vietnam and the visit to the temple along the route were really good. The food choices were lovely and we really enjoyed the experience. Some of the food we had was Bahn Gio, Bahn Ran (my favourite), Bahn Goi, Bahn Tom, Che (a sweet soup) and others. Thank you so much for the experience.
We traveled to Hanoi as a family, bringing our adult son along because he lives in Japan and we don’t get to see him very much. I decided to book a food tour of Hanoi because our son’s a foodie and I remembered watching Anthony Bourdain and Barack Obama meet for a memorable meal in a tiny restaurant in Hanoi for Bourdain’s travel-food show. That meal left an indelible mark on me. Eating the food the locals eat is the best entree into a foreign land. So true! This is the approach our tour guide Casey took with us! She was bubbly and enthusiastic and had great pride in her country. We tried a bit of everything at the food stalls and buying from street vendors! It was exciting to travel along with her. Spending a fast paced evening running through the Old Quarter was an experience we’ll always treasure! 🥰
This duo is amazing! They are very organized, very friendly, and very personable. The experiences they provide are very unique. We had a fabulous time. Thank you for hosting us.
This was the best foodie tour we have ever done. We were fortunate enough to get one of the owners. It was a personalised tour going to multiple destinations, sampling many different foods & even included making a dish - papaya salad which was a fun experience. We enjoyed interacting with the locals, it was such fun and we learnt things along the way. We would definitely recommend this tour to our friends, we would do this tour again if we returned to Hanoi. This is in our top 3 highlights of our 2 week trip to Vietnam. Highly recommend.
Definitely was a 5 out of 5 experience. Casey was my tour guide and she went above and beyond with 7 delicious meals. Casey bought her amazing energy, made me feel comfortable and overall made my experience very memorable. Book with this tour and book with Casey. She is number one.
This food tour with Chi was the best way to experience Hanoi food , culture and history. CHI kept us entertained all night with her indepth stories about the food we were eating and the history of their culture, their practices , and history. AS well as language lessons. We had it all.
Our tour with Linh in Hanoi was absolutely outstanding! Knowledgeable, friendly, and full of fascinating stories, she made the city come alive for us. She’s also very fun and really funny, speaking English perfectly. Every detail was thoughtful, the pace was perfect, and we discovered hidden gems we never would have found on our own. Truly one of the best guides we’ve ever had, and my favorite person in Vietnam by a mile—highly recommended!
Just did this tour with my 14 year old son and hubby. Fabulous! Introduced us to some interesting foods and tiny little eateries that we would never have tried without the tour. Linh was lovely; friendly and informative and we would definitely recommend this tour.
Really enjoyed this food tour! We had already done a food tour in Hoi An, so we were happy to find that all the dishes were different in Hanoi, except for the coffee tasting, but not really complaining too much there :). The girls were really sweet and even taught us a board game from their childhood. All food was delicious. Although, the desserts were quite unique and I’m not too sure the rest of the family enjoyed them so much, and an extra savoury meal might have been preferred. Maybe offering some tailoring for the group could help here as the desserts were huge too so we probably could have shared one between 2. The girls did share some history about the food but I think they could share even more! At least for me, my favourite part about doing these tours is learning more about the history and culture of the area so don’t be afraid to share more!! Thanks so much for sharing your time and food with us, memories we won’t ever forget.
A family group of 13 did the walking food tour in Hanoi. Our guides were excellent and spoke fluent English and were very help full in terms of explaining the various foods etc. We had about 8 different items varying from light melas, to meals to drinks. The only negative was the amount of walking, in particular one part about mid way through the tour, must have been kilometers that we walked between the two venues. A tad more thought in terms of sequencing of venues to optimize the amount of walking would make this excellent. The guides provided us with some great photos taken during the evening.
We had such an awesome time on the Beyond Vietnam Hanoi Foodie Tour with Casey! From the very start, she was warm, welcoming, and super easy to chat with. Not only did she take us to some incredible spots to try traditional Vietnamese dishes (and there were a lot!), but she also gave us so much background on the food – where it comes from, how it’s made, and why it’s important in Vietnamese culture. What really stood out though was how much extra insight she shared along the way. Casey told us stories about Vietnamese history, traditions, and daily life in Hanoi that gave us a much deeper appreciation of everything we were experiencing. It felt like we were hanging out with a local friend who genuinely wanted to show us the best of her city – and she absolutely delivered! Every dish had its own story, and every stop felt authentic and unique. We left full, happy, and with a whole new understanding of Vietnamese food and culture. Honestly, if you’re in Hanoi and want to eat well while learning something new, this tour with Casey is a must-do! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our family of four ( 2A, 12yo and 10yo) had a great evening walking around old quarter Hanoi with Milton. Milton took us to his favourite places and we tried lots of delicious local and street foods. Milton looked us all and we all had an awesome time. Communication by the whole team leading up to the booking, the booking and after the tour made it very easy for us too.
This was a fantastic tour to do on our first day in Hanoi. We tasted 8 different dishes and enjoyed all of them. Milton was an excellent tour guide, he was very knowledgeable about the food we were eating and about Hanoi. Milton did not rush us at all, we were able to take our time to enjoy all the dishes and our surroundings. I would definitely recommend this tour.
We did an evening tour with Milton, it was excellent! It was our second day in Vietnam and was such a wonderful way to be introduced to a wide variety of foods. We did the tour with our two young kids (3 year old and 7 month old), Milton was very flexible to accommodate them and made us feel so at ease. It was like be shown around by a friend! Highly recommend.
We did a private walking food tour with Linh, it was the most extraordinary night, we loved it. We tried so many different foods we probably wouldn't have tried otherwise. Linh was so knowledgeable on the history of the food we were eating and she is such a lovely person. I highly recommend doing a food tour with Beyond Vietnam
One of the highlights of our trip to Vietnam was our tour of Hanoi old town and food tour with Linh. Linh is amazing, informative, funny and a great guide. We had so much fun. Trying authentic food, a ride on a cycle all finished off with a coconut coffee o train street where the longest train came through. What an experience. Thank you Linh from Debbie and Richard 😊
This was the highlight for me in our 2 week trip around some of Vietnam. This felt like the only time we saw real Vietnam rather than the tourist trail. Linh put us at ease straight away, even as a group of 5 of us and took us to 8 different places with a sample of food in each place. We were certainly full at the end! We had lots of questions about Vietnam that we were able to ask Linh and she happily answered our questions fully. All places were ones where we wouldn't have gone to on our own. Linh knew one member of the group was vegetarian and this was accommodated with ease. The vegetarian Banh Mi was so good that my friend returned for another one the next day! My son had really wanted to do the food tour and he said it was everything he could have asked for. Linh was entertaining and informative.bShecalso took photos and videos which she sent to us afterwards. I thoroughly recommend this tour and am so pleased we had the chance to do it. Thank you Linh!
My daughter and I had a really nice time with Linh. Before we came to Vietnam, I had lots of conversation with Dung about the tour and other things in Vietnam. She was really helpful and friendly. When the tour day came, Linh communicated with us via WhatsApp about where to meet. We had a fun time touring around the old quarter. My daughter loved the stamp maker and painting the dragonfly best. Linh is kind and enthusiastic and I would love to do another tour with her when I revisit Hanoi.
We can’t express enough how much we enjoyed this food tour. Linh was an amazing guide, she was so personal and knowledgeable it felt like we were getting a tour with a friend! The food places she took us to were all so unique and delicious, all foods we would not have thought to try! Linh also took care of taking gorgeous pictures for us and sent us additional food recommendations after the tour. We tried all of them and enjoyed each so much!! We cant recommend this tour enough and would highly suggest first time travelers in Hanoi to book one early on during their stay in Hanoi, as you then have time to try out all the recommendations too!! Thank you Linh and Emma, we cant wait to go on another tour with you again in the future!!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour with Linh. She was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and had a great sense of humour. We never would have tried or heard of half of the dishes if we hadn’t done this tour. Alot of the dishes were unique to Hanoi. She also took lots of photos and videos on tour and sent them through on a link afterwords. As I love taking photos myself this is something I was really thankful for. We enjoyed the tour so much we ended up booking another tour with Linh for 2 days later. This tour was called “Off the beaten path”. This was a very memorable tour, tasting a lot more adventurous and unusual food. Highly recommend both tours.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Linh made the experience fun. It’s a safe way to taste street food as we were taken to places that are tried and tested. Highly recommend
We have new Vietnamese friends. Linh and Emma are fantastic hostess for a superb food tour around Hanoi. Linh knows the best places to go for proper authentic Hanoian food and explains everything with a smile and a deep understanding of how these dishes originated. We couldn’t recommend Beyond Vietnam highly enough, a must try for first time and return visitors to wonderful Hanoi. The Train Street visit they organised on my birthday was something that will stay with me for a long long time. Perfect
Beyond Vietnam food walking tour with Linh. My mother and i , upon arriving in Vietnam, chose to do this food tour to get an idea of what foods to choose, what we were eating, etc. This food tour went beyond that, and showed us traditional vietnamese foods. Was very interesting and Linh was very knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic . She was very considerate and took great care with my elderly (but able!) mother. It is fantastic that she supports local vendors throughout the tour. We finished at train street, which was on my wish list. There were even chairs waiting for us, and we lucked with not one, but two, trains. It was a small group also, which we were looking for, making it feel more personal and easier to hear and move around. Linh loves what she does and it shows :)
Was keen to do a food tour on our first day in Hanoi to educate us on the food and also see a bit of the city. Sarah was a great guide and also very patient with our young kids. Great to try some dishes we normally wouldn’t try and found some good places we went back to!
We were keen to try some different foods away from the tourist spots and this tour certainly delivered. Linh was passionate, enthusiastic and really informative. She took us to some great spots- a mix of sweet and savoury, and places we would not normally have visited. It was great to hear the history of some of the vendors. Our 7 and 10 year children also enjoyed this tour and were encouraged to try everything, which they did! Linh was great with the kids. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to try the real food of Hanoi. I would also recommend doing this tour at the start of your trip so that you can revisit some of the places you like. 10/10
I am so glad I booked this tour even though it was on my last day of my trip. Lynn was the perfect tour guide. And introduced us to so many delicious food. That I went back the next day to eat again before my flight. It was a small group and done at a lovely pace. I cannot wait to come back and book another tour again. Thank you Lynn for the porridge 😋
We had a fantastic food tour with our lovely guide Sarah (Thư) going to places that we may not have discovered ơn our own. We learnt a lot about the history of some of the foods, and about life in modern day Hà Nội. I enjoyed everything we tried! Such a great evening walking around the Old Quarter.
My wife and I did the street food tour with Milton and had the best time eating amazing food at local places around the Old Quarter. He was very knowledgeable and made us feel instantly comfortable. Great street food experience which I'd highly recommend
Found the tour from Facebook and so glad I reached out. I was able to try 8 different foods that I wouldn't have known to try on my own. Milton, our guide was passionate and excited to share his city and love of food with us. He even taught us how to safely cross the street in Hanoi
The Taste of Hanoi with Beyond Vietnam was a great experience for a foodie like me and my friend. With so many food items and food vendors all over the city, it is overwhelming to determine which ones to try and where to try them at. Cream was our guide, and she made sure we could try dishes we haven’t tried yet, since it was our last day in Hanoi.
We had the most amazing evening with Beyond Vietnam and our Guide Cream, who was just a delight! Tantalizing taste buds!
The tour was amazing, cream was the perfect guide and we had so much fun! All the food was fresh and delicious and we visited the best cafe.
The best tour I’ve ever been on!!! Amazing tour Guide and fantastic food, local and delicious! With 7 meals and drink at the end we were so full and happy that we tried many various dishes and even our kids tried everything and loved it ❤️❤️❤️
We had a great Taste of Hanoi tour with Milton and he took us to some places we would never have found as a tourist and we tried some food they we would never have been game enough to try. I can thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Hanoi.
Exploring the streets of Hanoi with this food tour was the highlight of my trip to Vietnam! Our guide, Paul, was very personable and enthusiastic. He shared details about food, culture and his personal experiences. The tour was perfectly organized with right combination of dishes. Communication was excellent from the team and guide.
Was a great tour, with great domestic dishes and egg coffe in Hanoi , we really enjoy in everything . High recommendations.😀
We had such a fun morning mingling with the locals, tasty local foods and understanding the area and history. Linh was a fantastic host. This was in our top 3 highlights from our Vietnam/Cambodia 3 week trip. I would certainly recommend to my family and friends and hopefully one day return to do another tour, even the same tour as it was so much fun.
Not only did we tried some amazing Vietnamese dishes, we also learned interesting facts and history about Linh's beloved Hanoi.
What a great adventure. This is so much more than a foodie tour! You will get a great insight to life in Hanoi, how the locals live and some history to boot. We had tastings from 7 different places over 4.5 hours. In a word BRILLIANT, we were not left wanting and there is nothing Linh could do better. We tasted great street food that we would never have known about (or been brave enough to order). We visited places down little lanes that you would never know would be eating houses (yummy Pho Bo - Pho) and made a great beef jerky papaya salad Hanoi style, tried Band day gio (Vietnamese mochi with beef sausage) and Banh cuon (steamed rice rolls) Delicious freshly cooked Vietnamese doughnuts (Banh ran) , iconic banana fritters (Banh chuoi) and two types of sweet soup (che) to finish off with Phin (filtered coffee). Linh definitely hit the mark with our brief of what we wanted to make this a personal and active experience. She also speaks great English, is great fun and is very passionate about her country and food (and she takes great photos too). This was the highlight of our 12 days in Vietnam. Our only regret? that we didn't do it earlier in our time in this country so that we could capitalise on our newfound information. if you are thinking about booking a foodie tour dont hesitate to contact Linh at Beyond Vietnam. You wont regret it.
