Skip The Line: Thang Long Water Puppet Entrance Tickets

This is a very personal take but the show was not exciting to me because the pitch of the music and the singing is very high. The puppets were cute though

Paid for 4 VIP tickets, but when we showed up to collect tickets we were given back row deluxe tickets. No heads up/communication from tour operator. View was poor from row L. You won’t see much from the back, especially if you have kids.

Very quirky and traditional. Really enjoyed it. Worth understanding what will happen beforehand or getting audio guide. It does sell out so worth getting tickets before. Unless you get front row tickets it doesn’t really make much difference where you sit.

Despite being listed everywhere as a 'must do' in Hanoi, this experience was very disappointing: tiny seats with no leg room (and I am not a large person); poor performance quality; sweltering temperature inside the theater (on a cold day). Save your money and time for something else.

The water puppet show is definitely worth seeing! My experience with the ticket provider went smoothly. I was able to pick up the tickets directly at the ticket office at the theater. I appreciate that I didn't have to go to a different location for the tickets like I saw for other ticket providers. I purchased the skip the line option. Would recommend.

If you think puppets can’t swim, think again! The Water Puppet Theatre in Hanoi is a hilarious splash of culture. The colorful puppets danced and told stories while we all laughed and clapped. It’s like a party on water, and trust me, you don’t want to miss it! Perfect for a fun night out. Duratin: 55 min.

Since it was a holiday weekend with Reunification Day and Labor Day weekend. Many of the roads were closed to get to the theater on time. I arrived 10 minutes late and the ushers were so kind to let me in and guide to my seat without a fuss. Thank you so much. The show itself was amazing 👏.

The water puppet Theatre is totally worth it but I would recommend to just go to the ticket office and buy the tickets by yourself.

Well organised for picking up the tickets. Plenty of leg room at seats for us 1.78m and 1.84m Completely enchanting event, musicians were superb.

Very traditional and nice show, though a bit touristy. We were amazed by the performance. Though it is in Vietnamese, there is not so much dialogue and you can understand what is going on from the context of the show. Excellent live music on traditional Vietnamese instruments is performed during the show.

When you arrive at the theatre, the person you will pickup your ticket from is to the side of the ticket booth. Don't stand in the regular line to pickup your tickets.

Great show colouful and interesting a lovely evening. A good show for all ages to go and see. The musicians were excellent to.

The puppet show was fun and like nothing I’ve seen before. Definitely would recommend going! Having a ticket in advance made it easier. The only challenge was finding the person I was meeting to get the ticket. Was standing in an inconspicuous place with no sign or anything to indicate she was the contact and didn’t seem to be actively watching for people looking for her.

Had a lovely night -the theatre is set beautiful area worth taking your time to walk around before and after. The show itself was quite amazing to see - and hear as the musicians are all quite amazing too. Also worth getting the unit that explains what is happening in your own language for you too- think it was about $3. Only negative the night was the number of tourists being inconsiderate and filming on their blocking the view of others.

I remember watching a Vietnamese water puppet show when I was a child in London over 25 years ago, it was wonderful seeing the show. Wonderful singing and music, not to mention the mesmerising but funny puppetry.

It was a nice show, telling stories about rural and royal life. The musicians were really great and the puppet masters very skilled.

The Show was great though we didn't get English translation still we enjoyed it. However this company Viator charged 100% more than actual charge . i fully understand they need to have some cut on the charges . The charge is only 200K in VND so 4 tickets it costs only 48 dollar where the company charged me 108 dollars. Pl book directly and enjoy the show

Nothing spectacular. It's in Vietnamese, not complaining since it is the country.... But maybe they should have an English show for the foreigners. I wasn't amazed, probably wouldn't go again, but it was affordable and something to do.

I want to start this off by saying this review is exclusively about the services of the "skip the line" part of the package - not the Water Puppet Show itself which was great. I bought this package to try and simplify our scheduling and to ensure that we got great seats however what we got would have been the same as if we just showed up and purchased the lowest tiered tickets ourselves. We received no instructions on how to retrieve our tickets in advance and when we were showed up we were put into the general admissions line when we were expecting to be able to skip the line as is guaranteed in this purchase - I mean it's even in the name. After at least a 15 minute wait when we finally got to the box office there were no tickets reserved for us. I purchased a tier to get the best seats available and instead was given the lowest tiered tickets. Basically I paid $51 USD for two tickets that amounted to under $10 total and I did not receive any of the services laid out in this booking. They also won't give me a refund because apparently it's my fault for not retrieving the tickets even though I received no instructions and was never contacted by the seller at all. Do not pay for these, just get the tickets yourself and save the money since in this case spending extra money does not seem to save any time or effort. I feel scammed.

We took a 1 night cruise in Halong Bay on a 5 star Cruise, which was perfect. The cruise stops at the major points of interest through the day which is great.The staff were so helpful and friendly, the boat is luxurious and the cabins are comfortable. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a premium cabin which was a lovely gesture as the Corona virus had reduced the number of tourists. There were lots of activities to fill in the time, it would have been nice to go on the trip when it was warmer to enjoy the swimming. Fun excursions and time to relax along with incredible food and service. Don’t miss this one!

Wonderful tour of Halong Bay. Our tour guide Johnny was excellent- very fun, friendly, and knowledgeable about the Halong area. The boat was top quality, crew so friendly, and food amazing. We had an amazing time on the tour, choosing it because it offered more time in the Ha Long area than most others. We really enjoyed the more secluded tour of Lan Ha Bay and the cave on Cat Ba island in addition to Ha Long Bay. The kayaking was a fantastic experience and the views were stunning, would definitely recommend!

It was a great experience with lovely people/tourists and professional staff.Our Tour guide was very informative and always had a smile on his face! The staff upon board the cruise were very attentive, they were always at hand to serve you drinks and help you if you needed anything. The boat was clean and spacious and the food was excellent- you will not go hungry on this cruise that’s for sure! I stayed on Boat with my family for 2 days 1 night and I must say my stay was amazing. I would definitely recommend this to any one planning for a cruise in Halong bay

I went here during the lunar new year. The place was really crowded yet fascinating! People went to this place to pray. A unique temple because they have 2 giant turtle in 2 different glass boxes. A good place to learn new culture and an amazing place to spend your day because the temple itself is located on the middle of a lake.

My wife and I did a ride-around the lake at night and later we did a walk around in the day and the night. The night trip was the best and we had the night market available right after our walk around. We enjoyed shopping and eating right at the top of the lake.

The show was very beautiful and very well played. I really loved it! But the show was ruined by disrespectful audience. Many people arrived late, 5-10 minutes after the show had started, and they were let in to the show. Also many people were talking loud during the show and some left in the middle of the show. The performance was only 50 minutes, and this disrespectful behaviour really affected the experience of the show.

This show came highly recommended to us and the show did not disappoint. Very interesting to watch the puppets entertain us. So glad we attended this show!

We visited Hoàn Kiểm lake When we stayed in Hanoi its many trees and flowers. Hanoi is so green and nice

The lake will be light up at night and looks more beautiful with the color of each light. The temple in the middle of the lake looks like temple of gold

The lake is magical both during the day when we can visit the temple situated in it and also when the entry is closed at night. The lightning on the bridge is superb and gives it a fairy tale look. A happening place to be.

This show is unique and very skilful, I must admit to being sceptical however, the show was excellent. Highly recommended show.

A convenient and good spot to check out in case you're in Hanoi. A lot of visitors and locals there to have a walk as well as people watching. Many cafes around as well as the cost is affordable so that you can have a relaxing Vietnamese coffee break.

Lovely walk in a very busy city, you can walk all the way around on sidewalk beside the lake. In the evening the lights and dancing adds to the charm.

The lake is beautiful. You can walk around, enjoy. The water puppet show was worth a watch. All artists played so well.

It worked very well and with zero effort. It is worth renting the audio in your own language. The audio is very simple but helps to understand the puppet show and especially Vietnamese culture.

The show lasts only about 45 minutes and is also a feast for Western ears. So don't worry about not understanding or getting boring. Be sure to get the tickets beforehand. For little money you can take small water dolls as a souvenir

Good weather, not too cold, not too cold, the food was fine, affordable, easy to find meals, comfortable travel, but not for the seniors.

For a moment in the evening, the beach is nice, but it seems to be a better place to walk lightly.
