My family and I had a truly enjoyable day exploring Hanoi. As first-time visitors, we were hoping to see the city’s highlights while learning more about its history and culture, and this tour delivered exactly that. What really made the experience special was our guide. Andrew was warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating stories and local insights throughout the day. Thank you to our guide for making the experience so memorable. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Vietnam, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi.

Hanoi Opera House was built to host classical art shows such as chamber music, opera, ballet, and drama. With a total area of some 2,600 square metres, the Opera House has 3 areas including the front hall, mirror chamber, and performance hall. All areas are decorated with French-style classical chandeliers.
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is an important historical attraction of Hanoi, known for honoring the national hero: President Ho Chi Minh. The building is where visitors can express their admiration and gratitude towards the common father/uncle of Vietnamese who has led the country to independence and reunification. It is popularly known among Vietnamese as Uncles’ Mausoleum, for the intimate and familiar atmosphere Ho Chi Minh always created when he was alive. Built over 2 years from 1973 to 1975, the Mausoleum is also a lively illustrator of national unity. Please note that the Mausoleum closes on Monday and Friday and every afternoon.
One Pillar Pagoda, also known as the Dien Huu Pagoda or Lien Hoa Dai owns unique architectural structure with a square structure lying on a stone pillar. It is distinctive architecture that gives the pagoda become one of the fascinating tourist attractions in Hanoi. Floating above the lake consists of a system of wooden slats forming the solid structure firmly supporting the pagoda, which looks like a lotus flower raising straight up from the lake. Dien Huu Pagoda started its construction in October (lunar calendar), 1049 under King Ly Thai Tong. In 1106, King Ly Nhan Tong renovated and expanded the pagoda to become a large architectural complex with Linh Chieu Lake added and a gilded lotus throne atop. Inside the lotus throne is purple shrine with sacred bird imagery in the roof. There is a gilded statue of Buddha Avalokiteshvara inside.
A rare example of well-preserved traditional Vietnamese architecture, the Temple of Literature honours Vietnam’s finest scholars. Founded in 1070 by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong, the attractive complex is dedicated to Confucius (Khong Tu) and was the site of Vietnam’s first university (1076). The altars are popular with students praying for good grades; while the pagodas, ponds and gardens of the five courtyards make picturesque backdrops for student graduation photos. It is depicted on the 100,000d note.
Located on a small penisula on the East side of West Lake, Tran Quoc Pagoda is regarded as the most ancient pagoda in Hanoi with its history line of more than 1,500 years. Located on a small penisula on the East side of West Lake, Tran Quoc Pagoda is regarded as the most ancient pagoda in Hanoi with its history line of more than 1,500 years. The architecture of this Buddhist center is a subtle combination between the solemn and beautiful landscape on the peaceful and quiet ambiance of West Lake’s surface. Thanks to these historical and architectural values, Tran Quoc Pagoda attracts many tourists to pay a visit, both inside and outside of Vietnam.
Located in the center of the capital of Vietnam, well-known as one of the most inhumane prisons with terrified punishment, Hoa Lo Prison, aka Maison Centrale, is a symbol of strong will of prisoners and their sacrifice for their communist ideals.
Hanoi Train Street is a unique attraction that has grown in popularity in recent years. It is a tiny street in the center of the city, with narrow houses surrounded on each side by residences and cafés, and train lines running straight down the middle. We will have a drink here while waiting for the train passing through.

We went with Andrew, absolutely fantastic very knowledgeable, and professional we also did a food tour in Hanoi with Andrew, we recommend him.
This tour takes in many of the ‘must-visits’ of Hanoi but without being herded around like cattle. Paul was a great guide and we took in Hanoi Opera House, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (and Presidential Palace), One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, Chua Tran Quoc, Hoa Lo Prison & Train Street. Paul made sure we were sitting drinking a local coffee as not one but two trains passed through the extremely narrow laneway! Would highly recommend this tour and Paul as a guide
Outstanding tour – the perfect start to our Vietnam trip! We had an amazing day on this private Hanoi city tour and couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the city. Paul was an exceptional guide – friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. At every stop he gave excellent information and really brought Hanoi’s history and culture to life. Our driver was great and the car was clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned, which made the day even more enjoyable. Everything was very well organised and relaxed. The itinerary was brilliant and the Train Street visit was a real highlight. This was the perfect start to our Vietnam adventure and we would highly recommend this tour – especially if you get Paul as your guide!
A perfect tour for getting to know Hanoi. We had a wonderful guide named Leo. He was very informative and my adult children 20 & 23 enjoyed his knowledge. Would absolutely recommend this tour.
Our tour guide, Harley, did an amazing job! He was informative of the history, provided a secure way of getting into places on foot when the tour required walking, was very informative of the Vietnamese temples, and gave the details when we asked questions. He also went at our own pace as we had a ln elder in our family group. He has a sense of humor which allowed for an awesome tour!
I would highly recommend this tour. My tour guide Tu spoke perfect English, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He was able to modify the tour to visit areas that I had not visited yet in Hanoi. It was absolutely an amazing experience. I would highly recommend it. Next time I am in Vietnam I will book it again.
My guide Minh really made this experience stand out, discussing lots of things from a Vietnamese perspective and even including a few things I wasn't aware of -- despite my above average knowledge of history. I highly recommend this tour for seeing a lot of Hanoi in a single day.
We had such an amazing experience on the Hanoi All-in-One Day Tour, and our tour guide, Thomas truly made it unforgettable! What we appreciated most was the personal touch—our guide answered every question with patience, gave us great local tips, and even helped us take beautiful photos to remember our trip. It really felt like exploring the city with a friend. We highly recommend this tour and especially our wonderful guide, Thomas! Thank you for making our day in Hanoi so special. 🙏✨
Our tour guide Tyler is one of the best. So friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We enjoyed the tour very much and would definitely recommend it to others.
Our guide, Bruno, was awesome! He knew so much about the city and the history. It was a very interesting tour. The food was delicious. I really loved the train street experience.
The Tour was execllent: fun and informative! We saw all the major attractions in Hanoi in detail. Leo was a very good Tour guide. The car was comfortable and the driver was very professional. 5/5 for this experience!
Private tour which you can change , we decided to go to one of the Incense Villages in the outskirts of Hanoi and so happy we did . Learning about the process of making incense and the beautiful set up was well worth the change . We then were taken to a reduced city tour , were taken to the Hanoi Prison called “ The Hilton “ by the US inmates where Sen McClain was held captive and it was quite an experience to see and listen the other side of the story . We were taken to the Street Train which is a must in Hanoi. We could not see that much more as the Chinese president was in town and most of the streets were closed but we were happy with what we did and saw.
It was a full day seeing the major attractions of Hanoi. The guide, Kane, and driver were excellent - flexible and attentive to our needs Very good value.
Leo is a fabulous host. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and adaptable. A wonderful introduction to Hanoi. Thoroughly recommended!
A very informative tour with the host (Bang) being very insightful, courteous, helpful and knowledgeable….just what you want with a tour guide. Would definitely recommend to others wanting to undertake a private tour of Hanoi
We have a very happy day with Triet (Travis) and Mr Driver. It was the best experience for all the tours I had in Hanoi and Sapa this time. Triet speaks wonderful English and he is friendly and caring. We have our private tour with him for 1 full day in Hanoi and we successfully visited lots of places without too rush as it is our private tour. The timing is all about ourselves and that is wonderful. Triet is knowledgeable and professional, we have lots of questions and he is always trying to explain to us. We have some discussion on things in Vietnam and we are happy to know more about Vietnam from him. Triet is able to give clear instruction and arrangement on timing so that you know what and how much time you are going to spend on this spot. He cooperate with Mr Drive who is also professional and help to take the best route to safe some time. Triet brings us to a nice souvenir shop selling acrylic painting and it s okay as there are craftsmen doing demonstrations and it s good to understand how the painting was made. We brought a little box as souvenir and it s lovely. For lunch, Triet brings us to a local restaurant in the alley and the food there is simply but delicious. Lunch is included in the tour we only paid for our drinks. We enjoyed it very much! Then we went to the train cafe and it is a special experience I can tell. You should go and try yourself. It s a bit scary but its very special. Finally we went to the St John Cathedral and thats the last spot. We really appreciated the wonderful work of Triet (Travis) and Mr Driver. We have such a beautiful memories here in Hanoi and thank you to Triet and Mr Driver. Highly recommend to do it with Triet on private tour. All the best to you. And hope to see you next time.

We enjoyed a fantastic day with Travis who is very friendly and knowledgeable. There were some awesome sights and the prison and the train were among the highlights for me. This is a really good tour and one I would highly recommend. I would also highly recommend Harley and Crossing Vietnam Tours who have helped us with several trips at a difficult time after the Typhoon. Harley has given exceptional customer service and really looked after us. Thank you Harley and Yravis.
Our tour guide Mike was so knowledgeable and great at his stuff! It was a very enjoyable, smooth, and convenient tour. Will get them again when i go back to Hanoi!
This day trip of Hanoi was brilliant. Firstly, we were expecting a private tour. The guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable and has a great personality. He was enthusiastic to show the best of Hanoi even of we were all melting from the heat and humidity. I would recommend to anyone that is in Hanoi for a short time and wants to see the highlights of Hanoi in one tour. The best part was train street.
Duc/Aaron was our guide and he was wonderful. Got to see many of the main attractions and having a driver was great. Able to get to things faster and more comfortable especially since the weather was very hot. The highlight was train street so cool to be inches away from the passing train. Also we told Duc we would love to get some local artwork and he took us to a studio that makes the most beautiful lacquer pictures. They make and sell lacquer pictures as well as other items for your home or for gifts. Would recommend this tour and the company communication beforehand was wonderful through WhatsApp.
What an amazing day with Travis, our tour guide. The itinerary was well planned out and extremely interesting! Travis was very knowledgeable, professional, respectful and kind. His English was impeccable. The highlight was our coffee on Train Street, what an incredibly exhilarating experience. Also, enjoyed learning about the various occupations and visiting the B-52 Victory Museum. Our driver was skilled and successfully navigated the streets without difficulty. Thanks again for amazing memories!! Overall, an amazing day and we highly recommend it.
Fun trip in Hanoi, We went on Private Hanoi City Tour on Feb 20th 2023 , we had so much fun and learn a lot about Vietnam . Travis our Tour guide is great , he is knowledgeable, fun and taking good care of us , we are happy taking this tour .
Absolutely fabulous tour! Mike spoke excellent English and had so much knowledge about the history of every site we visited. Egg coffee (amazing) as we watched the train whiz past our knees (thrilling) was a real highlight. Lunch was delicious and felt authentic - not overly touristy. My husband was not feeling well that day and needed to return to the hotel quiye early. Mike and our driver were very caring and attentive. Checking in and helping me bring him some food mid-tour while still making sure I got to see all the sites. I'm really sorry my husband had to miss this wonderful tour. A truly memorable day - Highly Recommend!
Our tour guide, Ty & driver, Mr. Quinn did a great job of showing us the highlights of Hanoi. We hit all the spots as advertised along with receiving lots of information about the city. They made sure we were comfortable, safe and well looked after. We would definitely recommend this tour!
My family and I booked our tour very last minute (20:00 the night before), and so, we were very glad that we could have such an amazing experience in Hanoi on such short notice. We had an amazing tour with our guide Ryan who was very knowledgeable about the History and tailored the tour to our liking (we took the private tour so that was possible). the Transport that was provided was also very nice and clean, and the restaurant that he took us to for lunch served really good food! Overall, my family and I had an amazing time and we would recommend this tour to all our friends!
Guide arrived on time and took us to places listed in the tour. gave us time to look around and take pictures. gave details information about the places we saw.trip booked on 17/11
Our guide, Maya, was Outstanding!!!! She went above and beyond the tour and took us to places not on our itinerary and still has the s un schedule. We ended up eating lunch and drinking local coffee at the best spots!!! Would recommend Maya any time!!!!
I booked this online at short notice. Included hotel pickup. We didn't go to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum because of the long wait with the busy period for school children - went to the ethnology museum instead which was excellent. Lunch was great - dietary requirements catered for. Guide was very interesting. Enjoyed the puppet show at the end of the tour.
We took a one day Hanoi city tour by 'Crossing Vietnam' and had a very good experience. The tour guide assigned to us, Anna, was very knowledgeable, and friendly. She had a lot of interesting details to share about the places we visited: Temple of Literature, One pillar pagoda, Tran Quoc pagoda, green car ride through the old quarters etc. We had taken a private car, and were travelling with two kids (12 and 8 years). Anna also took us to a very nice coffee place which we couldn't have found ourselves. It was a small place tucked away at the top of an old building. Had authentic and yummy egg coffee and egg hot chocolate for kids. The tour ended with water puppet show which was a very unique experience, for us as well as the kids. I would recommend Crossing Vietnam to anyone considering a guided tour in Hanoi. We had a memorable experience.
Cuc Daisy was a very dear and open-minded person. We learned a lot about Vietnamese food and were able to eat sooooo well. She's always laughing and she's in a good mood. We'll be back!
