Private Street Food Tour With A Local Food Guide

Wanted a last minute food tour in the Hanoi Old Quarter. Reached out via WhatsApp and they got back to me in less than 5 minutes and our guide met us in 20 minutes 🤩. Nick, our guide, tailored the tour to our desired level of adventure. We had delicious egg coffee and then three great entrees at different spots, and finally a delicious dessert! We are from California and have lots of good Vietnamese food available at home but these dishes all stood out for uniqueness and flavor. Hard too pick a favorite. I highly recommend Nick and Vietnam Creative Travel.

My wife and I had our private Tour yesterday with Viola and Bob as out Guides. They picked us up in the Old Quarter at our Hotel. We had great food and conversations with them! Both are super nice and we got along very good. They even adapted the tour to what we already ate so we only had new dishes and tastes. At the end we were full and happy that we chose the private Tour instead of a normal big one. Afterwards we got all the recommendations via Whatsapp for the future 👍🏽

I booked a private food tour with Nick and was thoroughly impressed. Nick has a friendly and casual demeanor, and was highly attentive to the foods I was interested in. I also asked him push my comfort zone so that he did, introducing me to blood pudding and sea worm fritters. Up a tight stairwell to enjoy the tastiest Bun Cha, and down narrow hallways sharing stories of Vietnamese culture. Grabbing a canned beer at a Circle K and then enjoying a cold draft beer at what seemed like a locals-only beer garden felt all too perfect. The night was topped off with homemade coconut ice cream over sticky rice at what felt like someone’s mom’s house. Awesome job Nick! Thank you!

Viet could not have been any better to have worked with for my private street food tour. He was very accommodating and took the time to learn what I had already been exposed to as far as food goes and also what I preferred. He was an excellent guide through introducing me what to eat, how to eat it and I completely enjoyed the day. He also tried very hard to teach me a couple of Vietnamese language basics. I'll have to keep practicing on those!

We had a great time on our tour with Viet. We discovered lots of unknown and delicious places to eat in Hanoi. The tour was well worth it and I appreciated Viet’s flexibility with us. Vietnam certainly has great food. A wonderful experience.

This food tour is a must-do in Hanoi! Our guide Patrick helped us navigate the streets and took us to places where locals eat and explained the history behind the Vietnamese street food culture and the gastronomy. We also strolled through the local wet market. He also pointed out a few monuments along the way. There was so much food to try that by the middle of the tour, we were begging for half portions! You must come very very hungry for this tour and wear comfortable footwear.

Must experience tour!!! Lucky was our guide and he was so knowledgeable, hilarious and showed us such a unique side of Hanoi we would have never seen otherwise. Best food tour!!

Kai was my guide on a small group where we went to 6 different local street food restaurants. We had local beer with our food - draft and cans. The food was fantastic and the beer was great also. Kai was extremely knowledgeable and gave us plenty of information about the food, the area and the history of Hanoi. Very highly recommend Kai!

Mint, our tour guide was so informative and took us to some amazing places and we ate a wonderful variety of Vietnamese food. Mint was very engaging and taught us a bit about life in Hanoi. I thoroughly recommend the tour.

Sandy was incredible, exposing us to multiple Vietnamese food from pho to summer rolls, to egg coffee to red bean yoghurt. She was incredibly funny, knowledgeable and accommodating always taking care to ensure evryone's dietary needs are respected. I would do this oover and again if I could.

The food tour with Cherry 🍒 was amazing and truly a highlight of our summer. We learned so much and feel confident and excited to venture out on our own now. We were hesitant to book because our kids aren’t adventurous eaters but Cherry was incredible with them and they tried and enjoyed all of it! A very memorable family experience. Thank you.

Sandy was great. She took us round various food places and described different foods, where they came from and even catered to my allergies. We saw her again the next night and asked where one particular place was as the food was so good, she greeted us like friends and gave directions.

Sandy was the most delightful guide- incredibly thoughtful, so kind and very knowledgeable. She listened really hard to what sort of experience we wanted, tailored all the food stops accordingly and it was utterly delicious. We tried things none of us had eaten before. Sandy even left us drinking it beautiful coffees to find a fresh beer when my partner said he wanted to try some. Walking food tours are a great way to navigate any new city and this one in Hanoi certainly didn’t disappoint. Hosted by the very lovely and knowledgeable, Sandy, we visited six local street restaurants that I would otherwise have ignored. All of them served wonderful, flavourful, fresh food that would rival the best food anywhere in the world. Highly recommended this tour and Sandy specifically as your guide

Sandy gave us a most fun and informative experience, taking us around her favourite local food vendors to try the best of what old town had to offer. She was a joy to chat with, and very knowledgable about topics even outside of the topic of food. We tried 3 different savoury dishes, local beer, coffee, and dessert. I felt really full and satisfied with the experience afterwards, a great way to spend an evening when in Hanoi!

Great experience with Sandy ! She made us feel very comfortable, was very sweet, and knows her food locations pretty well! You gain a few tips and tricks on how to eat Vietnamese food the right way. Also warning: it's a lot of food! The value you pay is great for the amount of food and locations you visit.

Sandy was a superb guide.She is very informative, caring and thoughtful. I have knee problems and she doesn't make the tour hurt my knee at all. She leads the group at a pace I can manage. The food she introduced were AMAZING, fresh and so delicious.

My partner and I did the walking food tour a couple of nights ago and have recommended it to everyone since! Our tour guide was Sandy who was an absolute delight! So lovely and so helpful and knowledgeable. Sandy took us to about 6 different spots which we never ever would have found without her help. I had never heard of Bun Cha before and it is now my new favourite food!!!! We have had it twice since this tour :D we also had Vietnamese pancake, sticky rice with pate (which Sandy knew was my favourite and organised it for me especially!!!!) , rice paper rolls, and mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream. And coconut coffee which was the best I have ever tried. I loved that we were taken into local places that would normally be missed by tourists. Sandy was a great host, super sweet and we really enjoyed the experience. All the food was excellent, she’s flexible with what you would like to try and this was a great way to try local places that look a little intimidating to order in but that are excellent. Would definitely recommend!

This was the first thing we did when we arrived to Vietnam and it was such a great introduction to the city and the food in Hanoi!
