Private Hanoi Street Food Walking Tour With Real Foodie

Bob was incredible - he personalized the tour to us, answered all of our Vietnamese cultural questions with such detail. This was the highlight of our trip.

Food was very good. We got to try things we would have never ordered ourselves! Bobby was excellent! Explained everything and gave a bunch of restaurant recommendations for the rest of our stay in Hanoi!

Bob was absolutely wonderful. He made the experience so fun and tailored to our group! We’re pretty familiar with a lot of viet cuisine so we got to try a lot of stuff we haven’t had before. We had vegetarians in our group and he made sure to tailor the menu to fit the needs of the group. He was such a fun chat as well and answered so many of our questions about the culture and Hanoi. It was my favorite part of the trip for sure and would definitely recommend Bob for any food tour. This food tour is a must!!!

I did choose a different one before, which was not available. Tripadvisor showed me different options. I choose the one which said the “real foodie“, who can make a vegan/gluten free person AND all eating one happy. We had 1 starter, 3 mains, 1 dessert, shown from Ming. We got water and the best fresh pomegranate juice. He bought a fish sauce and extra soup for me to eat at a more quiet setting. That was so kind of him and the quiet area good to chill and hide from the city noise for a moment!! This was nice. He showed us how to eat the food and helped us put it together. He also talks about how he hears all the same questions daily, getting recognised in the street because of his TikTok and loving making up stories to best entertain his customers (: he will check in before on WhatsApp with the meeting point. We later experienced Katze as Restaurant, which is vegan heaven and would be a perfect addition to the tour. €74 is a fair price for the private Tour, which took close to 2,5 hours and includes all the food and drinks.

This is a true street food experience. Nick took us down some small allies along with Main Street venders. This way we experienced some of the best street food in Hanoi. Nick explained the ingredients and the various techniques not normally seen… dry pho for example. The food was delicious. Some of the stalls were very crowded, which just added to the experience. If you are interested in an authentic experience, Nick will not disappoint

We booked this perfect food tour in Hanoi with the lovely guide Viola, my entire family had a super enjoyable time, the food was fantastic and viola was an amazing enjoyable person she took us down some really cool back alleys and taught us some very interesting Vietnamese culture not to mention how accommodating she was to our food preferences. Neat way to experience the city. Recommend doing this at the start of your trip so you have spots to go back to, know what to look for and mostly just to get a young local’s take on food and culture in Ha Noi and Vietnam in general. Nick is originally from Ha Long Bay and we had just come from a cruise there so it was neat to talk to him about both experiences. We ate at Gia and Tam Vi (Michelin Stars) and Chiao Ban (Michelin Guide), and while all lovely and delicious, my personal favorite dish after 8 days in Vietnam + Ha Long Bay ended up being the humble pho gah - chicken pho - on this tour. Definitely go hungry. Portion sizes are meant for splitting and sharing and if it’s a private tour, you can ask to extend the walking between stops to hopefully make some more room in your stomach. If you like the idea of a fun Gen Z-vibe tour leader to talk to you about food and culture and answer all your questions, this is for you!

Nick was a fantastic tour guide. He spoke and interacted with the group at all times telling us about the Vietnamese tradition and culture. All of our recommendations were granted. Pho, Bah mi, Egg coffee, local dessert, Train Street and more. Highly recommend Nick and thankyou once again for the experience.

A really fun afternoon- our guide Bob showed us the best of Hanoi street food and adapted the tour nicely for our 8 year old son. We were particularly excited to try delicious pho at his mother's restaurant.

My guy’s name was Bao Anhand he met me at my hotel from there. We walked to the old town which was a great little experience. I got to see The some of the sides and got to get the feel in atmosphere of Hanoi. We went to 4 different restaurants and there was desert included as well at the end but I didn’t have any. My favourite dish was the rice noodle and chicken mushroom dish. Also the fried eel was really yummy. Definitely worth doing and a great way to get an idea of Hanoi when you first get there

This experience was so cool! Loved that we got to try a wide variety of local dishes. Every place we went we were seated immediately with little to no wait for food/drink arrival. Our guide Bobby was great and modified our experience based on what we were interested in trying. He also went above and beyond to make sure our experience was everything we wanted it to be.

My friend and I (30s girls) are well-seasoned travelers who booked this food tour last-minute while in Hanoi. We could not have been more impressed with our guide, Chi, and the experience as a whole. She met us at our hotel, customized the experience, spoke flawless english and made the entire evening a highlight of our time in Vietnam. The food was incredible, hole-in-the-wall favorites that gave us a unique local perspective that we'd never find on our own. Truly an incredible value for the price and experience. We absolutely loved our private food tour in Hanoi! We were a group of friends and my family with two small kids, and Bob was an absolute legend. He took us to so many local spots and dishes we never would have discovered on our own. It was the perfect way to experience more authentic Hanoi food and not just eat the typical dishes we have in Australia. My personal favourite was the Pho noodles and Chicken 🤤 bobs mums restaurant Bob made the whole experience really fun and easy, and all the staff at all the spots were accommodating to our group size (7 of us). Would highly recommend and would 100% do it again if we came back to Hanoi!

Bob is great. Me and my family had a very amazing experience with the city and the food is very authentic and delicious. Bob is very knowledgeable and patient and understanding with some of us are slow walkers and he let us walk in our own pace. We will definitely recommend Bob as your guide and will do this again hopefully soon.

Mai was my guide and she met me at my hotel and everything on the food tour was tailored to my level of adventurous food tasting. I wanted the true back street local food. Mai showed me a true mix of traditional local cuisine something I wasn't expecting but loved. Highly recommend

My wife and I had Viola and Bob as our Guides. They picked us up in the Old Quarter at our Hotel. We had great food and conversations with them! Both are super nice and we got along very good. They even adapted the tour to what we already ate so we only had new dishes and tastes. At the end we were full and happy that we chose the private Tour instead of a normal big one. Afterwards we got all the recommendations via Whatsapp for the future 👍🏽

Kenny was a great foodie tour guide. He knew all the best places to eat and found the perfect spots to enjoy the local dishes . My husband and now I love Bun Cha (among other dishes we tried). He was energetic, enthusiastic and really friendly and made it a memorable experience. He even got me to try fried sea worm omelet 🪱…… his knowledge of the local vibe and food culture makes this a 10/10 experience. We will be back to Hanoi and look forward to more food adventures.

Had an amazing experience. Nick, our guide, was patient and knowledgeable and not just took us to 5 amazing spots for dinner, dessert and coffee but also shared some really nice tidbits of Hanoi and Vietnamese history and culture which we wouldn't have otherwise discovered. We had such a great time with Bob! He was super friendly, easygoing and fun, and really adapted the tour to what we liked. Awesome private walking food tour with Kenny. He adapted the tour to our interests, introduced us to some new favourites and some more adventurous delicacies we wouldn’t have tried without his guidance.

We did the private motorbike tour with culturally significant spots, sightseeing, and amazing food, drinks and coffee along the way. This was a great half day - we were able to see so much of the city, experience the fun of the bikes in Hanoi, learnt so much about the city and history, and the food was beyond delicious. We would do this again in a heartbeat and our guides were knowledgeable, considerate, funny and great companions in this wonderful city.

People live behind the storefronts? I would never have imagined this but venturing back there and seeing it for myself was one of the many things I learned on this day with Mai! From building architecture to the area's history, Mai was very knowledgeable and friendly. Oh, and the food was good too! Highly recommend!

Long overdue review but my private street food tour with Bob as my guide was a great experience and well worth the money. I'm familiar with Vietnam and Vietnamese street food but I wanted the personal experience in a new city. Bob spoke perfect english, was very professional and knowledgeable, tailored the tour to my food preferences, took me to out of the way places that I would never be able to find and I never felt rushed the entire time. He also sent me a recap PDF of the food we tried and gave recommendations for places for me to try.
