Both options are led by a knowledgeable local food guide and include cultural insights, short walks between stops, and flexible pacing depending on the chosen experience.
After the introduction, the tour continues with a walking exploration of Hanoi’s neighborhoods, where food experiences are naturally combined with local culture and everyday life. For the Street Food + Michelin option, you will visit trusted local eateries to sample Hanoi’s signature street food, with one or two MICHELIN Guide–listed restaurant stops included as highlights. These Michelin stops create contrast, showing how familiar local flavors are presented at a more refined level. For the Michelin-Focused Dining option, the experience places a stronger emphasis on restaurants listed in the MICHELIN Guide, while still maintaining a balanced flow of tasting stops and cultural exploration. For both options, your guide shares stories about ingredients, cooking traditions, and the city’s history during short walks between stops.
The experience concludes with a signature local dessert drink, such as Hanoi's famous egg coffee at Giang Cafe. This final stop offers a relaxed moment to reflect on the flavors, stories, and cultural discoveries of the journey.

We had an excellent experience on our private Michelin Hanoi Food Tour with Bob. He met us at our hotel, and our family of four was joined by a friendly couple, bringing the private group to six people. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet new people while enjoying the evening together. Our family thoroughly enjoyed sampling the variety of foods throughout the tour. My wife and I took the Hanoi Street Food with Michelin highlights private tour in the Old Quarter with Minh and had an outstanding experience! It was our first night in Vietnam which made it the perfect introduction to the local food and culture. Minh is an exceptional guide who is extremely passionate about the amazing food in Hanoi, as well as his country and offers a great insight into the local culture. We went to places (literally in back alleys) and ate foods that we never would have found our tried on our own. All of the food was delicious and Minh knows these places very well, so they are clean and he even took extra precautions to safeguard the cleanliness. I could not recommend this exceptional tour any more highly!

My wife and I met two lovely girls from Netherlands making our group a size of four. We couldn’t eat all the food that was served, ensure you come hungry. What a great way to start our three week trip to Vietnam. This tour is a must!!
Sandy was great. Taught us a lot about the different foods and explained each dish to us. I chose to eat some snails as one of my dishes and it was delicious. layers of flavor. Very different from any escargot that I have eaten. Her spoke English well so she was able to answer all the question we had with ease. Such a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this to anyone. She accommodates the adventure according to your preferences.
The seafood was the best one I had this far. Also loved the mango deserts. Candy was so great and friendly and knows alot about the city.

Long was friendly and a great conversationlist, and I really enjoyed all the insights he had on the travel and food scene in Vietnam. The food tastings I had were great too- the highlight for me personally was the bbq seafood roadside stall. Delicious!

Highly recommended! Our tour guide (Sunflower) made this an exceptional experience. She speaks an excellent English and shared so many tips on food and history of Hanoi. She took us for three hours tour around the old quarter and we went to places we would never have visited if we were alone! I recommend doing this tour as early as possible during your trip to Hanoi. Also, don’t be afraid of trying the dishes that are offered to you during this tour as all were delicious! After the tour, sunflower shared the list of dishes and places we have visited. The Egg coffee was amazing!
We spent a wonderful evening walking through the streets of the old quarter tasting 7 dishes and an unplanned stop for Bia Hoi (which I had enquired about and was put into the schedule! Much appreciated). The food was amazing and the walking made it much more comfortable to manage all of the dishes. Sunflower was a friendly, informative and great guide with s real passion for food. The trip, on our first day of 7 in Vietnam had made us much more confident to eat at the local stalls. Wonderful tour - would highly recommend
Last night my son and I did a Street food tour in the Old Quater Hanoi with Andy, we walked for 3 hours made 6 stops. Andy was very entertaining and informative guide. He not only told us food stories but gave us information about history of Vietnam. Highly recommend Andy and his tour.
We booked the seafood tour with Kelly. We’re from California, near Garden Grove/Westminster where we eat the usual viet cuisine often (pho, spring rolls, banh xeo, etc). The seafood tour allowed us to try street food that is regional to Hanoi that you can’t usually get elsewhere. Kelly was awesome! Couldn’t recommend her more. Very professional, knowledgeable and honest. Right off the bat, you can tell how genuine she was - she takes you to spots that are safe but also where the locals frequent. My dad grew up in a nearby town so he could tell if it was a tourist trap or not. She gives enough facts without boring you. She’ll also tell you upfront why she’s suggesting a certain spot/stall/restaurant. It was mostly local joints with 1-2 high end/chain places. We loved Kelly so much that we requested her for another custom private tour the next day. Food we tried: - shrimp pancake - fried oysters - fried eel noodle soup - streamed rice rolls - fried fish - spider crab, king crab - snails (this was surprisingly the best because of the dipping sauce)
Derek took us out for a very nice food tour. Tasted several nice food completed with a lovely egg coffee. Derek is very knowledgeable about food quality and taste. My husband and I did the seafood walking tour our first night in Hanoi. While we booked a small group tour, the other participants cancelled so it ended up being a private tour! Our guide, a master's student in hospitality, was friendly and knowledgable. He took us to several food spots we would have never found on our own and ordered some delicious food! The guide shared that Ha Tours gives their tour guides a lot of autonomy so they're able to determine the places to bring guests - meaning that it's not the same "loop" of tour places that other companies do. Overall, fantastic experience that I can't recommend enough!
