In the tradition of Lenin, Stalin and Mao, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is a monumental marble edifice. Contrary to his desire for a simple cremation, the mausoleum was constructed from materials gathered from all over Vietnam between 1973 and 1975. We will pass by the Mausoleum, stop for 10 minutes to take photos and listen to the heroic history of Ho Chi Minh President.
Tran Quoc Pagoda is more than 1500 years old, which means the place holds such an important role in the development of Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular. That is the main reason why the temple attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world every year.
Located in the center of the capital of Vietnam, well-known as one of the most inhumane prisons with terrified punishment, Hoa Lo Prison, aka Maison Centrale, is a symbol of strong will of prisoners and their sacrifice for their communist ideals.
Hanoi train street used to be one of the most renowned tourist destinations in the capital. It is a tiny, winding street tucked away in one of Hanoi’s back streets, surrounded by tightly clustered, tall, narrow houses. The train travels by the backyards of these families a couple times each day. We will enjoy a cup of coffee while waiting for the train to pass tthrough.
Finn was an excellent guide. A very knowledgeable young man who want out of his way to ensure we had a fun, informative and safe tour. He provided excellent insight into the Vietnamese history and culture!

Andrew was a wonderful guide. We asked to see Hao Lo Prison (Hanoi Hilton) and Train Street. Andrew was very flexible with our schedule. We also got to see the B-52 museum, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and St. Joseph’s cathedral. It was nice of him to contact us before the tour to ask what we wanted to see and what should be the primary focus. Andrew and the driver were great partners in this experience. If you have a limited amount of time, this is a great tour to see the highlights since it’s only 4 hours.

This is an amazing tour, a great way to see Hanoi. It shows all the best bits with wonderful local knowledge. We had Tu as our guide and I can’t recommend him enough, he was so knowledgeable, friendly, funny and made us feel welcome. Special mention also to the driver Mr V (ex military) who always found parking spots nearby and managed to negotiate the chaotic traffic in Hanoi City. Harley (Quinn) booked our transfer from HAN to our hotel, this tour and a customized private tour of the Conical Hat Village, the Incense village and Trang An and her service was beyond amazing! She was communicating with me the whole time we were here, checking in and helped make this the trip of a lifetime! If you get booked with the driver Mr Thien, he is also awe worthy! How he drives here is beyond my Canadian knowledge base!! The Hanoi excursion was both fascinating and interesting. The driver took us to several interesting places and culminated in an in-your-face view of the train. Harley was very knowledgeable in both past and present Hanoi and Vietnam, a very good guide. A highly recommended tour.
We had Crossing Vietnam Tour plan and arrange our 12D11N Vietnam and Thailand trip for us. We have 2 adults and 2 kids aged 6 and 11. I shortlisted Crossing Vietnam Tour after reading the very positive feedback on TripAdvisor. The trip itinerary can be fully customised depending on what you want. I wanted overnight cruise on Halong bay, overnight train (sleeper train) and I also wanted to include short visit to Khaoyai and Chiangmai (Thailand), places I have not been to yet. Our 12 day trip consisted of many activities not just the one I listed. Special shout out to Radley our personal Tour Consultant. A WhatsApp group was set up for discussing and adjusting the itinerary before confirmation and finalising. He is attentive and prompt and able to propose alternatives. Before the trip he could address our concerns accordingly. During the trip he checked in with us regularly to ensure everything is good. One of the kids was down with fever and he went out of his way to get medicine for us. We brought but we were worried we will run out. Based on the official itinerary, meals included are also clearly stated. The restaurants we were brought to, food was good. Even when meals are not included, the guides were also able to provide suitable and equally good recommendations, usually within walking distance of the accommodation. The contact number of the guides were also provided via the same WhatsApp chat usually one day before the day of the tour. This is very good to prevent scams especially at crowded pick up locations like the train station at 6am. The guides will also contact us via WhatsApp when they arrive at the hotel to pick us up for the start of the tour. The planning was well done. The long trip doesn’t feel rushed at all. Before we headed to the train station to board the overnight train (which had no bathing facilities), Radley planned some time at a homestay for us to rest, shower and have dinner. All the guides and drivers we had were professional. For example, in Khaoyai we had water park visit planned, but we realised when we arrive it was about 25degC, a bit too cold for a swim and so the guide adjusted the itinerary accordingly with no hassle. Also in Sapa, since my kid just had fever the night before, the trekking route was adjusted comfortably and we could still complete it. Special thanks to our guides Kane, Devin, Tai, Lu, Jo Jo and Su! Our tummies are full and our hearts are full! Highly recommend Crossing Vietnam Tour! And Vietnam! We will be back!
Our tour guide K and driver were great, taught us so much about the history of Hanoi and provided a lot of local tips! The only reason only 4* and not 5, is that it was rushed and we did not have enough time to visit everything on the itinerary. In the future I’d hope the tour starts at 1pm and last 5-6 hours instead of 4 to ensure there’s time for everything g

This is a great tour visiting some main sites of Hanoi. Zach our tour guide was informative and his English was excellent. 4 hrs was enough to learn about some of Hanoi’s history and try some coffee and finish at train street for a nice cold drink to watch the train go by. My husband and I had a very nice time with Justin walking around the Old Quarters and trying some of his recommended foods. At first we were skeptical whether to take this tour or not, since we thought that we are already walking around the old quarter and there is not much to see. But our tour guide Andrew he took us around and explained the significance of the place and we enjoyed going around with him He also took us to the train street where he reserved seats for us and we got to see the train crossing the train street It was magnificent. He took us on a wonderful culinary journey - tried rolls with grilled pork, famous bahn Mi , delicious pho ga dry and a special ice cream plus an exciting Train street visit which was my highlight! The iced salt coffee was heavenly ... Pietro arranged all this:- special seating , no waiting time for us to savour these delights. He even took us to a supermarket to buy Vietnamese foodstuff and cashews and peppered the tour with interesting facts and a history of Hanoi.
