We were met at the Tuan Chau International Marina terminal at Halong Bay as arranged. Everything went smoothly. Boarded the boat, seafood lunch as really good. We went Bamboo rafting and then through the big cave that was really spectacular. Boat crew were great and looked after us well. Would recommend this cruise. David & Shirley, Australia.

Itinerary
Dragonfly Cruises offer the easiest way with Instant Confirmation to book Halong Bay Day Tours. Travelers would see the best of Halong with the most interesting activities at the World Natural Heritage areas recognized by UNESCO. We offer the best saving tours with Join-in or Small Group and Luxury Halong Bay with Luxury Bus pick up at hotels in Hanoi.
Designated a World Heritage Site in 1994, Halong Bay's scatter of islands, dotted with wind- and wave-eroded grottoes, is a vision of ethereal beauty and, unsurprisingly, northern Vietnam's number one-tourism hub.
A distinctive pair of karst islets jutting out from the calm waters of Halong Bay; the unique Hon Ga Choi Island has become one of the bay’s most memorable landmarks and among the most photographed attractions for cruise visitors. Located right in the heart of the bay, the jagged rock formations loom 12 meters over the water, improbably perched on narrow, weatherworn bases and appearing to lean towards each other.
Sprawling natural grotto with intricate stalactite & stalagmite formations & colorful lighting.
Tuan Chau island has an area of 2.2 km² and to the east and south are two man-made beaches endowed with very white, fine sand. Nowadays, Tuan Chau Island is one of the most touristic destinations in Hạ Long.

Our guide, Tinh or Mr. T if it's easier, was great. He spoke good, clear English, was fun and had good energy but wasn't overwhelming at all. He was well organized, shared helpful information at appropriate times and otherwise allowed us to go at our own pace and meet back within specific time frames. At the start of the bus ride we were each given a free bottle of water. On the way to and on the way back we stopped for a break which allowed time for restroom and souvenir shopping without pressure to buy. There were some women working on hand woven art and there was plenty of quality work to choose from besides other products. He handled the purchase of our tickets upon arrival at Halong Bay. For young children, they charge based on age and or max height. So if you have a young child (I had my 6yr old), don't be surprised if they ask you for your child's birthdate and height measurement. The lunch provided and served family style on the boat was delicious and they filled groups at tables quickly so we didn't have to think about where we should sit. Just a reminder that you should bring cash because the drinks are not free. At the cave, he gave us the option to follow him for a guided tour or to go through it on our own and meet at the end. At the fishing village we had the option to kayak or to ride in the rowboat in which case it would be customary to tip the rower. Halong Bay is a beautiful sight. It was relaxing to go up on top of the small boat with plenty of space to take in the sights. On the drive as you approach closer to the entrance, we noticed new hotel development in the works including a big waterpark in the area. I'm glad I was able to visit Halong Bay before that development is completed. I can only imagine how crowded the place will be in the years ahead. There were a lot of boats out in the bay but not so much yet to ruin the splendor of the place. On our return ride back to the hotel he was clear about the route and drop off spots so that we would be prepared when it was our turn to hop off. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Early pick around 8.0am very long day arriving back at around 8.30pm The down side to this tour is the travel time over 8hrs including 2 stops. The tour its self was good seeing the wondrous sites of Halong bay. We particularly enjoyed the caves we took the option to be taken by a local man rowing the boat. The main larger cave system was a walk through around 20 minutes I found very interesting. All in all a good tour except the travel time the better option would be a 2 day tour to break up the time traveling.
It was a great experience and a wonderful. Our guide was very informative, kind and helpful. The trip was very well organised...
We did the one day trip to Ha Long Bay. The bus picked us up at our Hostel in the Old Quater. The trip to Ha Long takes ca. 4h, the big Bus had enough leg space for me(I am 6‘3“). The stop on the way to Ha Long and back is a little bit unnecessary but at least you get the chance to use a restroom. The cruise itself was great. Our guide UY was amazing. He was always looking after us to make sure we have a great time and had a lot of interesting information. The 4 hour cruise give you a pretty good impression of Ha Long Bay. The food on board was good and plenty. The cave tour was alright (it was my least favorite part of the tour but UY tried his best to make it more interesting by telling a lot of facts). My favorite thing was the kayaking part, I’d definitely recommend taking a kayak and not a bamboo boat. You get to kayak on your own and explore a little bit.
They communicate with you the day of to ensure pick-up spot and timing. The bus ride was long but it was comfortable and in good condition. You stop at one location for bio breaks. You get fed immediately on-board. The food was just okay, I guess we were expecting better because it's right next to the harbor. We head out to see Ha Long bay but it was at quite the slower pace. The views were fantastic and the weather held up so we were fortunate. We went to the island and hiked up the short stairs and through the caves. Then we went to a discreet location for a private boat ride through some hidden lagoons. This is the highlight in my opinion (bring some cash as they expect a tip). Then we came back, bused to Ha Noi, and returned. The tour guide tried his best to engage us but wasn't too organized in his thoughts so it seemed to drag at times. My group size was about 40 people which is too many to enjoy the scenery. Overall, I enjoyed my trip and my decision to go with this company but if others are contemplating visiting Ha Long bay, then I would suggest you do a 2D1N as you'll experience the sites more better.
Had such a good day on this tour. The bus was new with good AC, the boat trip was perfect, the bamboo boat was fun and relaxing, the cave was interesting to learn about and the food was delicious! Our tour guide, Benjamin, made the trip even better!
Great day from start to finish! The bus was comfy and the tour guide Benjamin was friendly and really funny! The tour itself didn’t feel rushed and was really efficient! The food was great and the boat trip and bamboo boat will live long in my mind. HaLong Bay is a must see and we are really glad we chose to go with Benjamin and his tour company. Incredible experience.
Our guide Cong was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us just the right blend of history, culture, geography and personal anecdote. The bus trip was very long (4 hours to drive 160km and the seats a bit cramped. The catering for lunch was very good, and most attentive to my dietary needs which was most welcome. The scenery was stunning. I would be happy to recommend this to anyone.
Just a fantastic tour to Halong Bay. Thanks to our awesome guide, Cong, who gave us a bunch of info about what we would see, plus help all through the trip, it was as educational as it was fun and beautiful. The first entrance into the Bay is gorgeous. And yes, there are a gajillion boats...but you don’t even notice them. It’s just beautiful in every direction. Next up is the cave. It’s a fairly well manicured cave, with a paved footpath etc, but it’s super well lit so you can see details even up in the high areas. Then we did the kayaking OR bamboo boat cruise. Take my word, choose the kayaking option!!! When you get inside that first laguna, it’s so peaceful...and under your own locomotion, you can just take as much time as you want. Best activity day I’ve had this year. Worth every penny. And thanks, Cong.
Our tour guide Hien was very informative about the history of Ha Long Bay. He was kind, made many jokes and asked questions about where we were from to include all of us in the tour, as he called us his friends. A one day tour was definitely a perfect amount of time for us- we did everything that I had wanted to do and it didn’t feel rushed or anything. A yummy vegetarian option available on the boat too! Highly recommend.
We had a great day one day trip was definitely enough. Hien (our guide)was great. Vegetarian option 👍
First off : it’s a long day ! 4 hours on the coach each way so be prepared ... now the good bits, I was first picked up on time at 0750 as promised by the great and informative tour guide Hung (English name David Beckham :) ) from the lobby of my hotel and got on a nice smart tidy clean air conditioned bus with reclining leather seats. We made maybe another 6/7 stops before we we’re all on board the coach - 4 hours flew by with a quick toilet stop half way and I never felt in any danger especially with the crazy Vietnamese driving I was used to ! Arriving at 12 we went straight to the boat and took lunch on board which was a huge sharing platter per table of seafood, pork, chicken, rice, salad and French fries for the picky westerners ! During lunch we set sail and headed for 30 minutes to the islands , the one day tours are sent on a route which gets as much out of the 5 hours on board as possible, circling round a few islands, in particular the famous “fighting chickens” and a few islands made famous by the movie King Kong. Half way round the tour we then got off the boat to visit the Thien Cung Grotto , a huge cave paradise which has only recently been discovered (the past 30 years) lots of stalactites and stalagmites on shapes of animals, Buddha’s etc but you have to stretch your imagination to see them ! After the caves we then continued round our island tour, with a 45 minute kayak tour through into some caverns (if you don’t want to get wet take the bamboo boat offering instead ! We then returned to shore around another 30 minutes sailing capturing those last Instagram photos ! Back on the bus for 5pm and we were all back and dropped off in Hanoi at our hotels. (The driver also went out of his route to drop customers off at restaurants or different locations - which was great if you were hungry !) All in all a great day and well worth the money ! I would recommend staying longer than the day if possible to fully embrace what ha long bay has to offer ! One day though is great for those with a short time !
Because I get seasick, I opted for a private driver to meet up with the group tour. My driver was fantastic - he was conscientious of the time, while still stopping for breaks. The group tour was a lot of fun and a lot less crowded than I had thought - this company did not pack up onto a boat like others I saw.
Its a must do!! beatiful scenario and a great way to see part of Halong Bay. the tour guide Jade was cool and very funny.
We decided on a 1 day tour to halong bay from hanoi. Pick up from hotel was on time at 8am and our guide Trang told us we had a few more to pick up. Left the city by 9ish and headed out to the bay. There is a quick 20 mins stop for toilets and a visit to a factory with many things to see and buy. We finally reached the port by 12.40pm, yes a long drive on the bus! Boat cruise was nice and our guide provided some history and information whilst we had lunch. The next stop was the mountain and caves which were great. Finally a boat ride or kayak, whether was a little choppy so we opted for the boat ride, in which someone else paddles for you for a small tip. We then headed back to the city, again another long 4 hours back. The only thing that was frustrating was the bus let us off at the wrong stop and it took us 30 mins to find our hotel. Luckily we had explored the area the day before or we would have had no clue. Overall a good tour, nothing special due to the amount of people there and the long distance. We had a small group of 18 which was nice... i did find this similar to a tour we did in Thailand

Incredible beauty, nature lovers can never afford to miss this.
cool caves.

Very pleasant tour.
Ha Long Bay is amazing! The tour around the area in the large boat was great. The food was OK. And the tour in the small boat for some it was kayaking around the limestone caves was nice. We stopped half way at a souvenir shop for coffee/rest room break. On our way back too we stopped at the same shop. The drive both way was nice. The tour guide was good and knowledgeable.

Day Trip from Hanoi - Well Worth It
We booked a one-day trip to Ha Long Bay just 3 days before we arrived Hanoi. We read of mixed reviews about the experience and learned that you can book a one-day trip if you do not have much time for Halong bay.
We had a very good experience and would recommend it.
We were picked up at our hotel around 7:45 a.m. After touring the city while picking up other guests, we left Hanoi around 8:30. After 1 1/2 hours on the road half way we stopped for a restroom break at a touristy souvenir shop. Then 1 1/2 hours more to Ha Long Bay. We 20 of us boarded a large boat for lunch, which was quite good. Then kayaking for 40 minutes, a hike to a cave, tour of the Bay and back to port. The ride home was the same three hours with a midway stop at a different souvenir shop. Back to the hotel around 8 p.m. A long day, but worth the journey. Lots of tourists there, but it is a beautiful place and worthy of its World Heritage Site designation.

Hai guide was very friendly and handsome! He also explained about the history of Vietnam and taught us useful tips. I highly recommend this tour!
The guide explained everything on schedule! It is cost effective‼️ In the morning, they picked me up from my hotel, and on the bus, I explained Ha Long Bay with jokes. We rode for more than two hours, so after a light explanation we were free to sleep and spend the rest of the day, before taking a short break at a souvenir shop on the way. Cruise to lunch immediately after arriving at Ha Long Bay. It was mainly seafood, but vegetarians prepared meat-free in advance. Cruising → Cave exploration → Boat or kayak → Return to port. If it's sunny, you'll need a hat and sunglasses on the boat or kayak along the way, so it's best to prepare in advance.
