About Activity
This half-day cycling tour to local villages along the Red River offers an immersive glimpse into idyllic rural life. After a warm welcome at our guide's home in Bac Bien village, including tea and a short briefing, we begin pedalling through narrow village alleys to reach the Duong River. A local ferry takes us across to the opposite bank, where the landscape shifts to peaceful farmland dotted with buffalo, traditional homes, and vibrant markets. We stop at a local family’s house to enjoy tea and snacks while hearing stories of their daily life and learning about the art and symbolism of bonsai tree cultivation - a meaningful tradition in the area. Lunch is served at a local restaurant with bun cha (grilled pork with noodles) or pho (noodle soup). We then cycle to a riverside temple, where - if we're lucky - we may witness the captivating Len Dong spirit possession ritual. The ride is easy, covering 15-30 km depending on guest preference. The tour concludes around 12:30 pm.
