About Activity
This fascinating tour to Duong Lam takes us 55km (around one hour) north of Hanoi to this ancient village. Duong Lam was one of the first villages in the country to be recognized as a national relic. Some of its houses are said to be 400 years-old and the villagers claim that two Vietnamese kings Vietnam were born here. We stroll around and enjoy the ambiance of this picturesque and serene location which is dotted with ancient houses and temples. Lunch is served in a local family’s home. We then return to Hanoi in the early afternoon and visit the Temple of Literature, which is renowned as Vietnam’s first university that was built during the days of the Ly Dynasty in the 11th century. You will then attend a famous water puppet show in the evening. This is a unique Vietnamese traditional art form with male and female artists standing waist-deep in water to bring the puppets to life.
