Rose had prompt communication from moments after I booked ( months ago) as well as a few days in advance so we knew our cooking class had not changed. She met us, walked through the local village market showing us many fruits, vegetables and herbs. Touch and smell a big part of our education. As we discussed our menu, we asked about substitutions and she was quick to show us alternatives to banana blossoms etc. This was definitely a hands on class which we love as we want to be able to duplicate to our best ability once home. She is patient kind and has excellent English, coaching us to roll spring rolls correctly😅. Valuable for many things one rolls when baking or cooking!! We learned many things, loved all the foods and the 2 dipping sauces as well. Thank you Rose for opening your home to us! We were honored to meet your beautiful children and family as well!!

The food was amazing! I photographed everything I ate - which was surprising because I didn’t think I could wait to eat! Rose not only introduced us to the fresh, delicious foods but also told us about the history, culture and agriculture in Vietnam. Highly recommend!

We did four full days of tours with Sammy. We travel a lot, and she was the best Tour Guide ever! English is perfect, every trip was so well organized that things flowed smoothly. That does not happen by accident. She also took us off the beaten path. Her walking food tour of Hanoi was not just delicious but credibly interesting. And I guarantee you we went to little hole in the wall hidden spots that no tourist would ever find on their own. When she took us to Ha long Bay, which was a 2 1/2 hour drive from Hanoi, she broke the trip up with a fascinating visit to a pearl growing experience and made sure that we were never hungry or thirsty or bored. She booked a local sightseeing boat for just our small group. She took us to see incredible sites without hordes of tourists around.

Truly a cooking class like no other. The chef takes you to a bunch of local vendors in the neighbourhood, which are all happy to see you :), pick up all the fresh ingredients, meats, fish, learn more about popular herbs and condiments. Then hands on the cooking starts! The chef and assistants have already prepared the cooking station and the chef then explains each cooking technique needed to make the dish. We made: - Bánh Xèo: Crispy Vietnamese pancake with a savoury filling, rolled in spring role with perfect dipping sauce using kumquat to perfectly balance. - Bun Cha: BBQ marinated pork with a dipping sauce and fresh noodles all from scratch then carefully grilled by the chefs assistant over charcoal - Banana flower salad: learned the proper cutting technique, how to make the salad nice an crunchy topped with peanuts this was truly a delight! - Egg Coffee: Special request from me because I fell in love with this type of sweet coffee created in Hanoi. Honestly this was the best cooking class I've ever done, especially because of the skill level of the chef, would recommend 100%.

The food tour with Rose is both gastronomically satisfying and educational. She always injects a bit if not a lot of cultural and historical information about the food that really helped us to fully appreciate the dish. We had a wonderful walk through the old quarters while sharing stories about how similar or it differs from our own Filipino Cuisine. The intercultural interaction made the experience more memorable because we got to know each other in a personal level. Food connects people. And i highly recommend this tour ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

Rose with her experience as chef has taken us to the best street food and secret cafes where the food was delicious. She's a really friendly person and chooses food as per our preferences. Recommend everyone to go her food tour in Hanoi for sure.

This tour was a delicious experience. We met up in the old quarter and we visited 7 hidden gems of local street food. Our guide Rose has such passion for her city, the cuisine and showcasing its goodness that is moving and inspiring! Best guide ever! The food we tried was delicious, all made with fresh ingredients while we were being told about the history of the places we were visiting, and stories that made the flavours and experiences all the more richer. EVERYONE that visits Hanoi must book a tour with Rose. She is the best.

We were lucky enough to spend our last night in Hanoi, exploring local food and drink spots with Rose. Rose picked us right up from our Hotel and was warm and inviting from the start! Rose was so knowledgeable about her country’s history and culture, we learned so much more than just about food. Rose was so laid back and able to accommodate anything we needed. We also had a ton of fun learning about her own life! The tour was personalized to our group of four young travelers and the food was better than anything we had tried our whole week in Hanoi. This tour was so worth it and would recommend to anyone looking for a way to try authentic vietnamese food and get away from touristy scams. Looking forward to reconnecting with Rose next time I find myself in Hanoi!!

What an experience!!! We were recommended to do a food tour of Hanoi with Rose by our friends and it did not disappoint! We got to try SO many different dishes that we would not have tried if we didn’t go on this tour and everything was DELICIOUS. Rose is more than just a trained chef and cooking instructor. She is a wonderful insightful guide who truly cares about your experiences and perceptions of her homeland. “Aims to please” does not capture it. She goes above and beyond.

What an awesome series of experiences I had with Nhung this past week. While visiting Vietnam I took a cooking class with her, did two scooter tours of Hanoi, we traveled to Ninh Binh, and to Mai Chau. Each day I felt like I was living a dream! In the cooking class, Nhung taught me how to make delicious spring rolls, a fish dish, and barbecued pork. Nhung is an amazing teacher and was very thorough in in approach to teaching making sure that I internalized the techniques in order to replicate the experience when I returned to Washington State. The day after I returned I purchased the ingredients for spring rolls and successfully made them. The experiences in Ninh Binh and Mai Chau were breathtaking and varied. I was able to hike, bike, and take a boat tour of the local river. Nhung's selection of restaurants in these locations was phenomenal giving me more opportunities to taste the local cuisine and experience authentic Vietnamese culture. I'm already planning my next trip with Nhung next year where I'll tour the northern part of Vietnam. This was my second visit to Vietnam and utilizing Nhung as my tour guide and I will use her again next year. She is among the best of my tours throughout the world. In one word, she is phenomenal!

We did the Hanoi street food tour, the Nihn Bihn tour and the private cooking class with Rose. Rose is very enthusiastic and passionate about food and her country, and her English is very good. Rose showed us the best food spots, took us to the best places in Ninh Binh and learned us to cook Vietnamese food. She is patient and incredibly helpful with everything that you need. We had some fantastic days with her. Would highly recommend.

I have always enjoyed taking cooking classes while traveling. The experience of visiting local markets and learning how to work with local ingredients is a joy. My experience with Rose, however, took this pleasure to a new level. Her knowledge of the local contexts within historical and global realities is so illuminating. Our stroll through the local market was respectful and informative. I felt that each item she purchased and every vendor she worked with was directly connected to the meal we were soon to be crafting together. From the market, we walked to her teaching kitchen. This open air space was structured to provide plenty of workspace for us to cook together. Rose made sure I was able to participate in each step of the process. I chopped vegetables, mixed sauces, prepared pork fillings, and fried spring rolls. Rose was a wonderful teacher, explaining and demonstrating the various skills necessary for the creation of each dish. Her cousin, Maya was a kind assistant and made sure things moved along efficiently. The menu was well designed so that the dishes were ready at the same time. (Bun Cha, Banana Blossom Salad, and Spring Rolls.) Our feast was shared in her lovely second floor dining area. I am currently writing this review from Mai Chau were I have enjoyed two meals. Rose’s class gave me a greater appreciation of these as I could recognize the work that goes into each aspect of the various dishes. I cannot recommend this private class highly enough!

There is no such good experience! I was impressed with Rose's hard work! The food I was taught was the most delicious Vietnamese food I had ever eaten. The experience in the market was also exciting. My husband can speak Japanese, so even Japanese people can rest assured. I want to experience it again when I come to Hanoi!

My daughter and I spent 5.5 amazing days with Rose, including a food tour, a cooking class and moped tour in Hanoi, as well as trips to Halong Bay and Ninh Binh. From the first interaction, Rose was responsive, professional and easy to work with. Her ideas for our trip were fantastic and she quickly determined the kind of experience we were looking for. We were sorry to have to say good bye when it was over. I highly recommend her, she is FABULOUS!

Rose is a delightful and engaging young chef with excellent English and a gift for teaching.. We so enjoyed our time with her. Our cooking class in her modern and spotlessly clean kitchen was so much fun. We chose three Vietnamese dishes that we wanted to learn to cook and learn we did! Tofu and tomatoes is our favorite of the three and we now make it weekly at our home in Oregon. The local market tour was a wonderful mix of people, food, color and hospitality. The fresh tofu was the best that I have had in forty years of cooking with tofu. Melt in your mouth yummy! Phil found silkworms at the Market. Rose gamely purchased some and added them to our three dish feast. Rose was recommended to us by a long-time friend who Lhasa lived in Vietnam for five years. Rose is a very good cook and can teach the Vietnamese cuisine very well, I recommend it undoubtedly as the best cook and Hanoi guide.

Rose is really professional chef and she is so friendly so I found it was easy to follow the class. I enjoyed very much the local market tour. We made Hanoi grilled fish, Bun Cha, spring roll, green mango salad with seafood. All turn out to be excellent. Could not recommend enough, make it a try
