Great experience and Lucky was an awesome guide! My kids loved it and really enjoyed getting to know Lucky and spending the day together exploring Hanoi. He was very knowledgeable and engaging, and we learned so much in our short time together. An all round great day!

Itinerary
Meet your guide at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter or at HA Food Tours, 41 Luong Van Can Street (inside Craft Viet Shop). This private experience is flexible and usually covers 4–6 places. Let us know your must-see destinations in advance, and we will create the most suitable route.
Begin in the lively heart of Hanoi, where historic streets, local markets, temples, and colonial architecture come together. Depending on the route, you may visit Hoan Kiem Lake, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Dong Xuan Market, Bach Ma Temple, and the traditional merchant streets.
Visit Hanoi’s oldest Buddhist pagoda, beautifully located beside West Lake. Admire its elegant architecture, peaceful surroundings, and learn about Buddhist traditions in Vietnamese culture.
View the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum from outside and take memorable photos at Ba Dinh Square. To make the most of your time, the experience does not include entering the mausoleum, as security procedures and queues can sometimes take up to two hours.
Discover one of Hanoi’s most distinctive neighborhoods, where trains pass just steps from local homes and cafés. Relax beside the railway with Vietnamese coffee or another drink while learning about daily life along the tracks.
Step into an important chapter of Hanoi’s history at Hoa Lo Prison. Explore its preserved cells, exhibits, and personal stories from the French colonial period and later wartime years.
Stop at Hanoi’s historic Long Bien Bridge and enjoy sweeping views of the Red River, railway tracks, and riverside communities. It is also a fascinating place to observe the rhythm of everyday local life.
Return to the Old Quarter, passing a few more landmarks if time allows. The experience ends with drop-off at your hotel or another requested location nearby, where possible.

Had an amazing time with our tour guide Tom - very knowledgeable, funny, and personable. Our favorite guide on our trip through Vietnam. He gave us some flexibility on this tour to stop at places we wanted to see. He was so well informed on all the places he stopped to show us. The experience would not have been this good without him. Amazing experience.
We got a tour by Max who did an amazing job. He was super educational and provided us with lots of information which was amazing to learn. He was always happy to listen to us and answer any of our questions, and able to adapt to our needs. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend, especially our tour guide Max.
This was a brilliant introduction to Hanoi. Our guide Peter (Quan) was excellent - very knowledgable and interesting. We received a great insight into Hanoi and Vietnamese culture and history in a morning half day tour. The driver was also very helpful. Would definitely recommend this tour for a first time visitor.
Tom was an extremely friendly and funny tour guide. We had a relaxing tour that didn’t feel rushed. The level of local and historical knowledge was valuable. Highly recommended.
Our guide Tom was very informative and helpful. We had a great time and learned a lot. His driver was great
It was not so Exciting when compared to online pics. It’s not so worth as we cannot simply sit at that place without buying any liquid like coconut or coffee or beer🤣
Great tour guide ! we saw a lot in 4 hours . Very accommodating and helped us bought the coffee brands that we were looking for.
We had a lovely morning with our guide Max who showed us so many interesting sights in Hanoi including the Tran Quoc Pagoda, St Joseph’s Church and of course the train street where I enjoyed my first egg coffee! Max was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. A shout out to our driver too who was excellent. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful day with our tour guide Jamie on the half day tour and felt this really gave us an insight into Vietnamese culture. We learnt so much from him, saw places we wouldn’t have seen on our own, are delicious food, crossed busy roads without stress! He was really friendly and relaxed and this made it a very enjoyable experience.
Dignified smiling gentle and beautiful friendly young lady @ Layla! She is a Passionate and well educated lady who made us feel “at home away from home “ and we became friends from the word go; she was courteous and very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Vietnam! Wonderful to know her and her beautiful country! Best wishes and regards ! It was well spent half a day tour !
Very nice tour, lots of food. Come hungry, nice and knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed it a lot. We definitely ecommend it.
Very different and good experience. I like the train street and the prison. The real prison in the French colonisation era. The tour guide is very helpful and explained all places we went.
Kai from city tour was great!! friendly and easy to understand. Very knowledgeable about the places we visited, awesome photographer too!!
Our guide Sandy was exceptional. Her wealth of knowledge was evident and she was very helpful throughout the tour, especially when our young children were not enjoying the hot weather. The tour was a great overview of Hanoi with many places of interest visited. We really enjoyed the lunch also. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely amazing. The driver and guide were wonderful. I learned so much. I'd recommend it to everyone.
Jenny Tran was our tour guide. Her use of the English language is impeccable, and she is very friendly. The driver was also very prompt and drive safely despite all of the chaotic traffic in Hanoi. Jenny went out of her way to make sure that my husband and I enjoyed this tour. Her fund of knowledge is outstanding. She even volunteered to assist us in our efforts in exchanging currency and in negotiations at the Wholesale Market. I appreciate her insight into everyday living and local experiences in Cambodia. The Temple and Train Street tours were AWESOME.
This was a great way to hop around most of Hanoi’s key sights while learning a bit about local history and culture. It was nice to not have to think about crossing the road alone, or coordinating timings with the train and guard change. Sandy was a great host!
A very interesting and informative tour with Chung. We had some ideas of what we wanted to do and to maximise our experience Chung identified the sights that were closest to our hotel which we could visit independently. This meant we could see more sights on the tour The tour comes with transport which made getting around the sights and sounds of Hanoi much easier. Our favourite parts I would say Train Street, B52 Victory and Hoa Lo prison. The prison museum is very informative and extremely interesting giving an insight into French rule as well as the Vietnamese war between North and South. All along the tour Chung was giving us lots of information about Hanoi as we travelled between the sights All in all a very worthwhile experience and all of us finished the tour with a lot more knowledge on the history of Vietnam. We went to the Women's Museum by ourselves and it is worth having a visit.
Our guide Quyah (Sandy) was awesome. She was passionate and very knowledgeable about the history of the local area... from coffee to local architecture and beyond. Her logistics of organising taxis was seamless as the taxis seemed to be waiting at the end of every tourist site. Though small in stature, she was fearless in the traffic always putting herself between oncoming traffic and us. Felt totally at ease without constantly checking google maps! A truly wonderful experience... worth more than 5 stars!!
Wonderful wonderful, a must . We loved it. Brilliant trip, loved the food absolutely delicious and great guide
Huy was the perfect tour guide for our introduction to Vietnamese street food. His knowledge of the local cuisine and the Old Quarter is excellent. Huy made sure our dietary requirements were met. We were introduced to egg coffee as well as the local beer and sticky rice & coconut ice cream which were all very delicious. Huy made the evening very enjoyable due to his pleasant and personable nature. I highly recommend Ha Food Tours.
As a family of 4, we booked Ha Food Tours at fairly short notice having seen the great reviews on YouTube and TripAdvisor and weren't disappointed. Chris picked us up from our hotel on 4 July and took us on a superb walking tour around the food joints of Hanoi old town. Not only did we have some amazing authentic food from several family businesses but Chris was also informative and gave us a real understanding of the history of food in Vietnam. Thank you so much for giving us such a great start to our Vietnam trip. If you want a great introduction to Vietnamese food whilst in Hanoi, look no further than Ha Food Tours - thank you Chris.
Very excellent tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. Kenny had lots of recommendations for places to eat/visit beyond the few food places included in the tour. Worth every penny!
Vietnam’s food is so famous, but if you don’t understand what you are gonna eat how can you try the best o it! Lihn our guide was a real foodie, she explained us with so much passion every dish we tried, what I also value a lot was walking around and talking about vietnam’s lifestyle with her, at the end it wasn’t a tour it felt like a dinner with friends.
My mother and I took a walking food tour of the Hanoi Old Quarter with Mint. She was an excellent tour guide and very responsive to our requests. Mint grew up in Hanoi, so she knew all about the city and where to go for the best food. She took us to local favorites, with cleanliness being one of her highest priorities. The food was amazing! Mint is in her 20s and I was really impressed with how she interacted with me (in my 40s) and my mother (in her 70s). Mint would be an excellent guide for all ages. Mint gave us many options for food and asked us which we would like to try. After our 4th stop, we were getting full, so she cut out the 5th stop for us. In the end, we stopped at 7 different places including 2 desserts. She tailored the dishes she ordered to our tastes. She even ran out and got us a beer from a different stall to have with our duck Bahn Mi. Towards the end of our tour, she took us to the original egg coffee Cafe. Unfortunately, my mother doesn't drink coffee and I didn't want caffeine at 8:30pm. No problem. Mint ordered us egg hot chocolate and it was delicious! At the end of the tour, Mint ordered (and paid for) a Grab to get us home safely. I would highly recommend this food tour with Mint!
Chris was an amazing guide who Moira only explains the food but the culture behind the food. We got so much more than a food tour, we also got an introduction to Vietnamese culture and history. I strongly recommend a tour with Chris.
