Motorbike Lesson In Hanoi

I had a great time, I managed to tick off driving a manual motorbike from my bucket list. The guides were excellent and made the evening very enjoyable. I highly recommend!!

The plot twist I did not expect: somehow I ended up riding motorbike around Hanoi, and now Vietnam hahaa nothing can really stop me. It now unlocked so many different paths that I could take for my upcoming trip. Highly highly recommend this amazing team!

Thảo was so patient and is a very good teacher. We went from the parking lot, smaller streets to the old quarter. I did the intensive lesson since I was only there for one more day. He helped me feel confident and relaxed by the end of it. If you’re hesitant or scared to ride a scooter then I definitely recommend getting lessons with Thảo :)

It was a wonderful experience, Thao was fabulous, he answered all our questions and gave us a lot of useful advice! In just 3 hours we learned to drive a semi-automatic motorcycle!! Highly recommended

We managed to learn how to ride a motorcycle with no prior experience; the instructor was fantastic, helping us in every way possible and even taking us into traffic so we could better understand how to navigate it in the future. I recommend it to everyone!!!💕

I’m 55, and this was my very first time riding a scooter. As a car driver, I gotta say right off the bat—a car driver's mindset and a rider's mindset are totally different. Adjusting to that was tough, haha! But that just made learning even more fun. Huge thanks to my instructor, Thao, for super clear, easy-to-follow, and well-structured lessons. Right after my lessons, I rented a bike right here, and I'm practicing riding around the neighborhood on my own now. I wouldn't be surprised if I come back later to learn how to ride a manual bike (I'm on an automatic right now)

A really really well-run motorcycle school! Everything was straightforward from booking to the actual lesson. Communication was quick, the professionalism was good, and the instructor clearly knew what they were doing. I left feeling significantly more confident and, more importantly, more aware of my surroundings. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone considering riding motorbike in Hanoi, and South East Asia also.

I came for something different and left thinking, “Why didn’t I do this on my first day?” 😂 I’d already done the usual Hanoi things and wanted to do something a bit different. I came across Chicks n Bikes and decided to try a motorbike lesson. Honestly, it ended up being one of my favourite experiences here. I was pretty nervous at first because Hanoi traffic looks completely chaotic when you’re not used to it. But Mia was super patient - we then started us somewhere quiet, went through the basics, and slowly built up from there. I never felt like I was being thrown into traffic before I was ready. What I liked most was that it didn’t feel like a tourist activity. I was actually riding through Hanoi, seeing the smaller streets and neighbourhoods, stopping at local places and getting a feel for how people move around the city every day. It's amazing!!! Can't wait to be back soon.

I loved the experience! Thao was my instructor, his explanation was super clear. I could learn a semiautomatic in one go. Things to take in consideration: I drive manual shift car and I know how to ride a bicycle. I didn't have time to hit the actual road, because of some miscommunication. Make sure to ask if your pickup was booked. Cam on, Thao!

Excellent, friendly tuition built at the right pace of learning. Gradually builds confidence to riding solo in the city.

Ha was amazing!!! I had a really good experience learning here. The instructor was patient, explained everything clearly, and made me feel comfortable riding for the first time. I improved a lot in just one lesson and would definitely recommend them. 10/10 experience my confidence on a bike is so much better would definitely recommend for backpackers. Thank you!!!!

A really positive experience all round from contacting them to organising the classes through to finishing feeling happy and confident that I can make my way around Hanoi and its notorious traffic independently and safely. I had such an amazing experience with Chicks n Bikes Hanoi! Before the lesson, I felt quite nervous about riding, but they made me feel safe, supported, and confident from the very beginning. The teaching was so clear and patient, and everything was explained in a way that made it feel easy and natural. By the end of the lesson, I was actually enjoying riding and felt completely comfortable on the bike. It was not only super helpful but also so much fun. I’m really grateful for this experience and would 100% recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to ride in a relaxed and supportive environment.

I’ve had two lessons so far and both with Thao. He’s kind, funny and patient. He encourages and talks me off the “ledge” when I just want to give up. Even the smallest step he counts as a win and I’m grateful. He makes sure I understand the mechanics of the bike and is empathetic to my needs and lack of experience. In (2)-2 hour lessons I’ve learned a lot (fell twice) and will continue to take lessons.

Just did a crash course for 3.5 hours with my lovely instructor Mia. She spoke great English and is incredibly patient and encouraging. I had a fall and she was very reassuring and took great care of me to make me feel comfortable. Perfect course for ladies who prefer 1 to 1 coaching at your own

Couldn’t be better. Excellent and patient instructor, great food and a surprisingly cultural tour of Hanoi as the day went on. I’ve ridden a moped once before in my life and by the end we were threading through central Hanoi and further afield feeling safe and confident. Excellent training ground to start and clear advice. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Hanoi as an experience or to find your feet on a moped (it’s less chaotic than it looks from the pavement). Thanks so much 😄😄

I had the BEST experience ever with Chicks n Bikes! From the very start, they were so welcoming, friendly, and professional — such an awesome company to deal with. My instructor, Thao, was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly patient, super knowledgeable, and explained everything so clearly and thoroughly that I felt confident straight away. I had a great time brushing up on my skills. The instructor was full of energy and was very informative and took me through each step in a clear way - and now I feel a lot more confident. You start in a car park and if you feel confident enough you can progress to driving around more quiet streets in Hanoi but there is no pressure to, you can take it at your own pace.

Really great way to spend a morning! Had a fun time riding around the lake after getting an intro & practise run! Excellent for a first timer… and great way to get a flavour of the Tay Ho area!

Lessons are designed well with clear instructions and adaptable to meet your needs. Starting out in the car park to build confidence was needed and made me feel safe until I was ready for the roads of Hanoi. With no experience even driving a bicycle, Thao was able to show me how to ride one, I was able to rent my own bike within a couple of weeks. Could not recommend enough. Even without any experience they will have you ready in no time.

I had a bad experience with riding years ago, but Mia completely changed that. She was calm, patient, and gave just the right push when I needed it. Before I knew it, I was turning, riding with confidence, and actually enjoying it! The whole Chicks n Bikes team brings such good energy. They make you believe you can do it.

I highly recommend anyone looking to do something fun and immersive without investing half a day sitting on a tour bus (or, anyone feeling scooter FOMO in general) to take a lesson with Chicks n Bikes. This was the most fun thing I did in Hanoi, and I did it on the day I was leaving! Having fallen in love with Vietnam in a few short days, I decided on a whim mid-afternoon the day before that I wanted to give scootering a go and get a taste for what I could expect if I ever return to tour the countryside or do the Ha Giang loop. CnB quickly helped coordinate a next-day morning pickup at my hotel despite the short notice. The private 3.5-hour course I received was exceptional! Instructor Thao had uncommonly great command of English, was thorough in his explanations, was both patient and encouraging, and was a great conversationalist. I had never ridden (let alone drive) a bike or scooter but by the end of the afternoon I was confidently riding around West Lake! What a thrill!

When I started, I knew basics of riding a scooter but never knew there is so much more to it (and more than fear, its fun!) I highly recommend Chicks n Bikes for learning with amazing instructors, have personalised lessons, extremely sweet and courteous staff who is there for you and your endless questions, and getting a tour of Hanoi. They are one of the best out there for learning how to drive - a skill which you really need if traveling across Vietnam, Laos, and South-East Asia overall. My instructors were extremely kind and patient, wonderful people who knew driving and knew how to teach well! That too, in 2 hour lessons! you learn a life-skill. I wish they taught swimming as well! The only downside of learning with Chicks n Bikes is: you learn and the lessons are over!

We hired Chicks n Bikes for a private guided tour from Hanoi to Pu Luong. It was a great experience, and having the experienced guide from CnB, Thao, completely made the experience possible. He lead us skillfully through the bustling Hanoi suburbs, the winding foothills and eventually the steep mountain climbs and passes. As well as ensuring our safety Thao brought us to great restaurants along the way and told us about Vietnamese culture. We’re glad to now call him our friend. Riding motorbikes in the Vietnamese countryside is an incredibly rewarding experience, but not one to be taken lightly. I highly recommend trusting CnB to guide your next tour.

Guys. TAKE THIS CLASS. Omg I had the best time ever learning with my instructor Mia! She was a phenomenal teacher! I’m from the US and never rode a motorbike before, and in just two 2 hour lessons I went from barely being able to balance to riding with the locals. I love that they start you off slow in a large empty lot and slowly progress you as you feel comfortable.

Had a great 2 hour lesson with Tao (excuse the spelling)! Thank you! You cover all the essentials starting with the basics on the anatomy of the bike and build up slowly on skills until your comfortable to go on the real roads. I was worried I wouldn't grasp it within the time frame, but you have ample time to practice each manoeuvre over and over again until it feels natural. Tao is very attentive and gives different tips to help you improve too. The place we practiced was ideal, very quiet and with wide roads in a car park setting. (I'd give this 5 stars but the company had some teething issues with my booking on this platform)

Amazing teacher. Learnt lots and felt comfortable the whole time. I have never been on a motorbike before and afterwards I felt comfortable enough to drive through Hanoi with the instructor. Excellent route, scenic and gives you a chance to try all the skills youve learned.
