So, I’ve taken a lot of tours when traveling, and this is seriously the best tour I’ve ever taken! Super glad I picked Lan Ha Bay over Ha Long. There were so many busses headed to Hong La. We felt like we had the whole bay to ourselves. Sebastian was a perfect tour guide! Professional, funny, knowledgeable. Every stop and activity was awesome. Loved bike riding and kayaking. Everyone was so nice in the crew. Lunch was one of the best meals ever. My partner and I were so impressed all day long. Well worth the money.

So, I’ve taken a lot of tours around the world. No joke, this one was the best ever! Every single detail was awesome. Sebastian was a fantastic tour guide. Funny, kind, knowledgable. Really glad we chose Lan Ha and not Ha Long. Way less people, and I can’t compare, but really unbelievably beautiful. The meal was awesome. Bike riding, kayaking, the staff. Everything was outstanding. I highly, highly recommend!

Bring lots of water! It’s hot. The most exhausting activities happen in the hot sun. The tour operator provides you with a (tiny) bottle of water at the start of the trip in the bus. There’s water to be purchased in the boat, but a very long part of the trip is in the bus or in just getting there (about 6 overall hours from Hanoi). Other travelers should also know that the rest stops selected by the tour operator are very expensive and only have some meagre selection of snacks. The rest stops are actually tourist souvenir shops masquerading as rest stops. A bit of water is provided with lunch, but then you go from 12 pm - 7 pm on the boat and bus where the only water to had must be purchased (at inflated prices). My feedback to the operator - charge a bit extra for the trip, don’t be petty with water. The comfort of guests who are under your charge - in remote locations , or in transport controlled entirely by you - deserve better. I would not choose Serenity ever again. Even the tour guides and waiters were derisively dismissive of me when I brought up the issue. This is a basic hospitality faux pax and points to training and sensitisation issues.

One of the best experiences we’ve had was aboard the Serenity Grandeur Cruise! Exploring the breathtaking beauty of Lan Ha Bay and Cat Ba Island was truly mesmerizing. From delicious food and kayaking to swimming and the Cat Ba National Park tour, every moment was memorable. A special mention to our guide, Billy, who was simply fantastic and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. We leave with immense respect and admiration for Vietnam, especially its wonderful people, whose warmth and hospitality made our journey truly special. We did a day tour to lan ha bay. It was truly an amazing experience. Specially Mr. Binh, our tour guide, made it fantastic. Their food, service and hospitality was very good. It was not very crowded in the cruise. Atmosphere was relaxed and the itinerary was perfect for a day tour. Specially the cycling at cat ba village was short but beautiful.

Had so much fun all day. The guide we had, his name is Tuna, is a good guide. Almost had the whole bay to ourselves, it was great.

Although the trip and the guide was good, the following let it down: Being forced to write a review in the coach. The coach was acting as a taxi service, picking some people up at the end who were not even on the tour which packed the coach. Near the end of just before reachingthe cruise shop, picking people from various hotel in the island which extended the travel time. Should have arranged to meet at the ship.

This is my second time doing the tour with Serenity Cruises and Binh, last time was 2025 and both were amazing. You will go to a non-touristy part of the bay with barely any boats, making the experience super enjoyable. The buffet is really satisfying too and the cruise feels very luxurious. A great tour to do while in Hanoi!

It’s been a really nice experience. Although the bus trip to Cat Ba has been quite long (2h30-3h00), it has been really worth it. The boat, the tripulation, the food and the bay are amazing. If I would have to make a suggestion it would be to spend some more time both at the village and in the kayaking.

This was fantastic trip with outstanding guide who was both knowledgable and organised, moving things along nicely. Components of the trip were well thought through with visiting Bay with amazing views, going to hidden mountain village, kayaking and swimming. Bus was of high quality and air conditioned. Boat was well appointed with great top deck viewing area. To my surprise (for mid range level trip) buffet lunch was pretty good with vegeterian options available. The only problem was quality of wine by the glass. Just one white and one red. I accept that most people on such trip do not care about it. Scenary of the Bay was just amazing. My best, non city, views ever. Better than Zermatt, Wengen, Corsica or Adriatic coast in Croatia. Definite must see when visiting Hanoi.

Wonderful experience! We did a day tour and our guide Binh (Billy) was exceptional! He was very clear with instructions, itinerary , gave us some historic facts and was funny! He also took lovely photos on his nice camera and sent them to us free of charge. He went the extra mile to make sure each person had a positive experience. Also the boat is so nice and modern! Felt very luxurious. Great food and helpful staff on the boat too!

Easily the best thing we did in Cat Ba, and genuinely ridiculous value for under 40 quid. They picked us up right from our hotel in a little minibus with zero fuss and got us straight down to the pier. Our guide, Binh, was brilliant from the off—really down-to-earth, dead funny, and actually told us interesting stuff about the floating villages rather than just rattling off a script. Lunch was far better than it had any right to be for that price. Proper fresh seafood, and the cooked oysters with scallions and peanuts were unbelievable. The barman was lovely as well, knocking out decent cocktails on the sundeck all afternoon. If you go, I recommend just taking some decent sliders or flip flops as the cycling isn’t that intense. Also make sure you’ve got a bit of cash on you for the drinks and tipping the crew. Couldn't recommend it enough.

The transfer from our hotel Old Quarter Hanoi was done smoothly, the bus was clean and comfortable for the journey to the pier where we boarded the Serenity Grandeur. The Cruise ship was top class, well managed and the lunch served was excellent Kudos to our Guide Binh who was very courteous, helpful and attentive in serving us. Thank you Binh.

The pickup and the transition between the different transports were very efficient and well organised. The ship was lovely with great food and staff. The activies themselves consisted of a bike ride around Cat Ba Island with some great scenic views, then we went kayaking and swimming amongst the amazing karst limestone outcrops. Would recommend!

Great experience, our tour guide provided us with Vietnamese history and had great humour, he worked very hard to accommodate everyone. The cruise ship was beautiful, clean and very fun. The activities were wonderful, bike riding through the island national park was my favourite. Truly unforgettable

My wife and I absolutely loved our one day cruise to Lan Ha Bay with Serenity. The boat was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The food at lunch was delicious, with a lot of variety, good options for all diets, and very fresh. The staff were wonderful. Very friendly, informative and kept the cruise fun. The cruise had a good mix of active and relax time, meaning we never felt rushed and could enjoy the experience and the beauty of the bay without feeling like we were being taken from one place to the next. A perfect day out.

Overall, brilliant day out. Unfortunately my partner ended the trip badly with food poisoning due to a piece of fish he ate. Other than that, it was well organised, staff were attentive, couldn't do enough for you. Everything went like clockwork. Big thank you to you all!!

We booked a day trip to la Han bay from Hanoi. The experience was amazing. We were travelling with kid and senior citizen. They took special care of everyone. The cruise was luxurious.

If you’re wanting to visit Lan Ha Bay but don’t have time for a multi-day stay, this is a perfect alternative! You get a full day of fun on the water and exploring Cat Ba Island. The lunch buffet was delicious, the transportation was smooth, the activities were super fun (bike riding in the village, kayaking and swimming!) and the boat itself had so many options to lay down, relax, and take pictures. It was clean, luxurious, and a perfect balance of relaxing and adventurous. It wouldn’t have been such a great day though if it weren’t for our guide Binh. Binh communicated early on confirming the trip, shared important info, and ensured a smooth process. He walked us through all the transportation changes, activities, and made sure we had all our needs met. We also learned lots of fun facts about the culture and history of Cat Ba / Lan Ha Bay! He even shared pictures he took of us with his professional camera at the end of the trip unprompted! So sweet!! 10/10 guide. You won’t regret booking this day trip!

10/10 day on the water! The boat was beautiful, but it was overshadowed by the gorgeous views. The food was also really good. Our tour guide, Binh, was great. He was funny, full of fun facts about the area and the people, and helpful with clear directions and making sure everything went smoothly. He made sure we planned our excursions to avoid the big crowds which was so nice. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a day trip on Lan Ha bay/ Halong bay

Such a good experience. I enjoy the food quantity, the tour and all the activity around. Lucky for us we have the chance to do a bit of bike too. It’s a no brainer you should do it for the 1 day trip!

Honestly perfect through and through. Binh was an awesome guide and a fantastic photographer. The activities were well thought out with many different options. On the trip the food was excellent, facilities clean, and the staff welcoming and thoughtful. I didn't know what to expect but it exceeded every imagination.

Definitely of the most memorable parts of my Viet Nam trip. Lan Ha Bay felt like we were on a different planet!! Binh was a great tour guide and made sure to tell us the important history of Cát Bà Island, which I loved.

The transit experience was great with rest stops and our guide Tinh from Serenity gave us lots of info about Hanoi. We were very impressed with the boat, food, activities and excursion during the cruise! Loved it!
