The scenery is why you take the trip. We were able to jump off the boat and swim and have a nice kayak ride. Food was plentiful with a large variety. As in our whole experience of Vietnam, the hosts were just amazing and couldn’t do enough for you.

A fantastic experience. A very good tour guide and crew. Different activities and good food.
The cruise itself was nice but we’d recommend booking directly with a a tour company. This listing isn’t a specific company or ship so the quality isn’t guaranteed. We got passed from different tour companies for the transfer, then the cruise then the return trip and the organizer of this listing did not give us any information. At one point we were waiting in the boat terminal for an hour with no information. The cruise ended up being nice enough because of the views and food but it would have been cheaper to book it with an agency directly.
Tour guide, Brian was very attentive and informative. Enjoyable activities, good plentiful food, and accommodation good, although intermittent water leak from AC caused puddle on floor by door of cabin.
Wonderful activities: kayaking, swimming, cooking class, squid fishing. Our biking got rained out, but our tour guide had back up plans! Great tour guide! "Brian/handsome" Food was plentiful and delicious! Staff really put in the effort to make our food look great as well! Bed was comfortable and the cabin was spacious.
Very well organised trip led by a top class knowledgeable guide, Jack "Sparrow" who was very enthusiastic and engaging. Took us to some amazing places away from the busy crowds, peaceful and serene experience in the bay doing the kayaking but also the island with the cycling tour. Swam in the bay by sunset. Made great memories. Boat crew were friendly and made a special dinner for the vegans. Room was close to generator so a bit noisy at night. Highly recommend this cruise! They'll pick you up and drop you off at your hotel in the Old Quarter... Xin cam on Jack!
Wonderful cruise. Great team onboard, good meals and very comfortable and spacious rooms. We loved the landscape, kayaking and swimming in the bay! Highly recommended
Absolutely loved the tour - it took us to all the quaint and idyllic parts away from the tourists and bustle. Beautiful and scenic.
My boyfriend and I did this cruise last month and I really could not recommend it highly enough! Lucky was our guide and he did an excellent job of organizing activities like kayaking, relaxing on a secluded beach, and biking around Cat Ba. He also taught us so much about Vietnam and Vietnamese culture. The ship itself was also lovely - the bedroom was beautiful with a private balcony and modern, private bathroom. We had four meals on board, all of which were delicious. Cruising on Lan Ha Bay instead of Ha Long Bay was definitely the right choice for us as it was super quiet and peaceful. We only wished we had booked the two night tour instead of the one night tour!
The boat is older than i expected, but it's ok. The amount of food is too much. To decrease food waste, less amount is ok. The guide was quite nice and knowledgeable. Staff was all friendly & honesty. Thank you so much!
This was an excellent cruise from start to finish. Our guide Linh deserves special mention as she remained incredibly helpful and organised throughout. She also has a great sense of humour and made the trip fun for everyone. She was careful with our dietary requirements too. We had a really lovely time and particular enjoyed kayaking - and getting pretty wet! Her good English helped with our various queries too. We particularly liked the small scale of this boat and the the chance for everyone to get to know each other. Top marks!
Great cruise!! Ha was an excellent guide with an amazing knowledge of the country! Food was great. You definitely couldn’t complain about the amount of food served to us. The crew made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay Would definitely recommend to others!
It was wonderful trip which is more than my expectation. Cruise is very nice and having amazing features. Service I will give 5 Stars. Rooms are wonderful with hot waters. Foods are ultimate and we felt very well. Our Guide Ms. Ha is very kindful, nice speaker, her stick games are so innovative some very mindful game. I give 5 stars for her all. Kayaking, Net fishing, Cooking class are so nice and good memories. Over all am very satisfied. I prefer everyone to go with Ms. HA TEAM.
It was a wonderful trip in a 2D 1N cruise to Halong Bay.The rooms were quite clean and the ambience was good. The cruise staff were friendly.Overall had a memorable trip. Thank you Ha Chi
This cruise was absolutely perfect!! If you’re looking for an intimate (small group), a route away from the touristy crowded areas, and a budget friendly option, then Lan Ha Legend cruise is the one for you. The boat is definitely older than the others but clean and had everything we needed! There was only 5 other people on the cruise with me and my boyfriend which was incredible. The area we visited was away from the crowds so it was very serene and beautiful. Our guide Vu was really funny and took us to some awesome kayaking spots!! He made our stay on La Ha legend very enjoyable and easy! The transport to and from the bay was also very comfortable and convenient. The food onboard was soo delicious!! Highly recommend!!
Spent a brilliant couple of days on this cosy wooden boat, in awe of the magnificent landscapes surrounding us. Under the guidance of our warm hearted guide Vu, we went kayaking, fishing and swimming. We were served great food. A fantastic time.
We did the 2 day one night cruise. We had an amazing time . Our Host Called Ha was fantastic , her English was really good and she is studying to improve even further. She was very knowledgeable about the local area and customs. The food on the boat was superb. The weather wasn’t so good for us however did not spoil our stay still went kayaking and we were lucky to see the monkeys on Cat Ba . You are dropped off the next day about 12 so expect very early lunch , which may have been caught that morning .
Vu is helpful and nice. The journey is successful and pleasant. Thank you very much. I encourage friends to come here under his service for sure. Lovely scenery and comfortable environment. 他是一個非常週到的領航員!有禮又風趣,食物房間又舒適,風景又優美,我的朋友也應到此一來,跟他的團隊,樂而忘返。
Me Vu was knowledeable, friendly and helpful all the time. He brought people together using history, games, humour. He is a skilful Guide and really contributed enormously to our comfort and enjoyment of our trip.
I have just returned from the overnight cruise. We got picked up from our hotel in Hanoi and after cruise the company ordered onward travel to Nihn Binh for us. The organisation was all flawless. Vu our tour guide was funny, informative and attentive. Activities included kayaking, jumping off the boat/swimming, cooking class, squid fishing (two were caught by others on tour and the staff grilled it for us to eat at the ti me), visiting fishing villages and an array of card games in the evening. It was a small intimate group - we all bonded over dinner and drinks which made it an even better experience. I have no complaints about any part of this trip and would highly recommend it. The boat isn't the fanciest but we knew that from pictures and we felt it gave us a more authentic experience.
What a trip! Vu is a terrific guide/host with some great jokes and fab banter! The boat is small, max 17 to a group so great opportunity to make new friends with the help of a well stocked bar, we spent our evening drinking, learning new card games and squid fishing. The kayaking views are beaut, although there is a little plastic pollution but unfortunately that’s the world we live in these days. Cooking class was also a hoot, the whole trip was just one laugh after another. Would 10/10 recommend!
Fantastic small group cruise in Lan Ha Bay. Picked up from hotel in Hanoi and transported to cruise. Cruise company organise transport, it is paid separate from cruise. Vu our guide was very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. Food is fantastic and all the staff were very attentive. As it is a small boat, you get to know the other guests in a very short space if time. Boat not as fancy as others in the bay, but very traditional and spotlessly clean. Kayaking, spring roll making and fun games after dinner, squid fishing is also available for anyone who wants to. Vu organised our transfer from Halong to Ninh Bình. Saved us having to travel back to Hanoi. Thank you for such a great experience in the bay.
One of the best experience during 1 month in Vietnam. Cozy boat, delicious food and decoration and especially our tour guide Vu. We feel so lucky when we have him: enthusiasm, knowledgeable, and very kind. Don't miss the cruise and Vu
Highly recomend this cruise, we opted for 2 days 1 night and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The tour was filled with fun activities, from kayaking to swimming, fishing and cooking class! Our tour guide, Vu, made the trip even better with his lovely, hilarious personality! He was very informative and looked after us really well. We also had a great group of fellow travellers which was an added bonus! The boat was much smaller than all the other boats which made our experience much more intimate. It was also lovely, clean, traditional and maintained very well. All the food was deeeeelicious and we were also lucky enough to see the rare lan ha monkeys!!!
Vu was an awesome funny tour guide who made the whole experience rather pleasant. The food was fantastic and the activities on and off the boat were great fun. Really made the Vietnam experience better. 9/10
Good time with a lax atmosphere. Food was delicious and the double room was spacious with power and hot water! VU was a fun tour guide who made us feel welcome. Much love brotha!
Just done the 2 day 1 night tour with a great host Vu. We got picked up at the door in Hanoi and delivered to the cruise. Food was great, kayaking, cookery lesson, swimming and squid fishing all on the first day. We stayed up late working on a serious bar bill with new friends and even a few games organised by Vu. Another spot for kayaking second day, shame there is quite a bit of floating plastic waste in some areas but that was the only drawback to a fantastic 2 days. Vu was fab, good English and very knowledgeable about everything from geography history to wildlife.
We were truely happy and satisfied with the cruise trip. One of the best experience we had so far. Our guide mr.Vu have made the trip better with his funny jokes and happy to get a friendly guide like him. We will surely recommend to our friends and family and if time allows we will come back again.
Han was an amazing guide. He was flexible and was able to understand the needs of our group perfectly. Many cruises had similar amenities and activities, but none had a guide like Han to provide the best experience possible. He had just the right amount of information and was constantly making sure everyone had what they needed.
Hoang was an engaging and enthusiastic guide. Master Chef was excellent & his meals were beautiful & delicious. The crew was really friend and good too. We would recommend this team to friends!
My friends and I had an amazing time here with Lan Ha Cruises! We did the 2D1N cruise, which was ample time to catch all the sights of Ha Long Bay. Our boat was definitely a more rugged and simpler boat as compared to the others, which definitely gave it a more homely feel, and it made it much easier to get to know everyone on the boat. With the smaller size of the group, there's lots of opportunities for interaction and making friends with the other guests and there's sort of a community feel to it which I really loved. The rooms were clean and nice with a big window to catch the view right from your bed! There's also a dining hall and a top deck to catch all of the sights. We also had a lovely guide named Ha, who was very friendly and really made our experience a memorable one. She was knowledgeable about the area (ask her about the "Ha" in Halong Bay) and was lots of fun to be around. She spent time getting to know everyone and was always available to help. Count yourself lucky if she's your guide! Kayaking was also one of the highlights! One good thing about Lan Ha Cruises is that they bring us to a lot of the quieter, less crowded, more serene spots. Definitely a nice change from the noisy streets of Hanoi! There's kayaking on two days, on the first before dinner (light & dark cave) and on the second before lunch (floating houses). Food was delicious too! Spring rolls cooking lesson was fun, and probably my personal favourite food on the trip. Overall, a pretty much perfect trip to Ha Long Bay. Would love to come again, and definitely recommend it! Some advice: - If you go in the colder months like January, you'll want to bring a jacket, preferably waterproof so you can take it with you on the kayak - if you're especially prone to the cold you may also want to bring comfy long pants (though shorts is fine too) - payment for the shuttle bus & ferry (25 USD per person) is done at the end of the trip, so remember to bring some cash - it gets really cloudy so anytime you have sun (usually in the late morning or early afternoon), use the opportunity to take lots of pictures! - small satchets of soap & other toiletries (like disposable toothbrushes and slippers) are provided in the toilets - you may want to bring some add water - for overnight trips, remember to bring your passports! - use the toilet before you depart from your hotel because holding it in for an hour and a half on the shuttle bus is not fun (from experience) - have fun!
Ha was our tour guide, she is excellent in her job, very friendly and warm, she makes sure everyone is comfortable
The pick-up from the hotel was very efficient. Our tour guide for the trip was Ha who did not show any signs of fatigue, being bubbly all the time and treating all of us like close friends. She was also very knowledgeable and gave us recommendations for food back at Hanoi. Excellent guide, one of the best I've encountered out of my many trips overseas. We went for kayaking at Lan Ha bay, had a choice for swimming, made spring rolls and played some games. We made really memorable connections with the rest of the tourists and that only added more to the overall enjoyment we had. Amazing ambience all around. Food and accommodation were good, the boat was surprisingly stable and would not be a problem for those who get seasick.
Stayed 1 night in a cruise ship and toured halong bay We were picked up from the hotel and looked after by our guide Ha. Ha was superb and friendly and very knowledgable. I would recommend this tour to see halong bay Thank you Ha Regards Chris and Anne xxx
Small boat what is more friendly staff onboard is adorable and smiling special thumb up for our guide - Tran. Activities were all nice & weather was perfect. Boat was older than picture but clean & fair prices!
Nice cruise on a small and older boat. No big groups. Great food and espacially a very nice guide: Ha. The speaks very well english and spend the most of the time with the group.
Nice trip. The Halong bay is amazing! Kayaking in the middle of the bay and caves is just awesome! Our guide HA is very kind and took very well care of us ! We recommend her!
It's amazing time! a super peaceful and great guide Tran. He's very knowledge and was able to answer all questions! Highly recommend!
It's very good experience despite of not good weather. Can was so friendly, the kayaking part was a great. Everyone was very friendly!
We went for a two day cruise and it was absolutely amazing. Our tourguide(Andy) was marvelous and we had an amazing time just chilling and kayakking around
Had a great time on this cruise. We were picked up on time from Hanoi, taken to the boat and had plenty of activities, kayaking, swimming, jumping off the top of the boat and cooking classes. All within a beautiful natural surrounding. Andy looked after us really well making sure we had everything we needed, he joined in with the group and really made our trip. Would fully recommend
Really cosy cruise with a small number of people. Got the cahnce to meet great people and had an amazing overall experience. Food is good and abundant and our guide was very friendly.
Thank you for showing us around Halong bay & Lan Ha bay - Tran. We had a pleasant stay here at Lan Ha legend cruise. Everything was very good & meet our budget & expectation!
We were travelling with 2 small kids - everyone was so nice & helpful, including all the drivers and crew. The boat was beautiful & boutique with very good quality of foods. It's very easy to enjoy the tour with small group!
Our guide Hoang was wonderful. We loved the trip, loved the 2 kayaks - the time exploring was great. Food was awesome & crew was very had working. Tuyet Voi!
December 4-5. It was a very pleasant trip, starting from the time of the hotel pickup. The cruise was fantistic with this weather. Only 6 in the small group. After dinner when it was dark, instead of leaving us on our own on the ship, she gave some stick riddles which everyone enjoyed. Though young, she is knowledgable. We enjoyed the BBQ dinner. the food was delicious. The accomodations was normal. Centainly valued for money that one could ask for for a no-frill package. Overall experience... Very Good! Thank you ... Ha.
Best cruise I have ever been on. The host Lin was amazing, very friendly and entertaining. The kyaching was so much fun.
Vu is one of the best tour guy I have ever seen. He was definitely the highlight of the trip. The food was also great too!
The tour with Vu was absolutely amazing. Not only was he a friendly tour guide, he also was very when it came to the tours. Vu was enthusiastic and humorous. A true rare gem 10/10 would recommend to anyone coming to visit Ha Long Bay.
While the 2 day, one night excursion was great, It all felt a little bit rushed. From the cycling to the kayaking, everything felt whistle-stop, although the Trang An boat trip was very enjoyable. The boat was functional without being luxurious and there was enough food for everybody, although the alcohol was expensive. As many people have mentioned, the amount of debris and diesel in the bay spoils the views slightly, but not enough to not warrant visiting. One of the highlights was Linh teaching us how to make spring rolls and giving us a brief history of their cultural significance too. It preceded an evening of (unsuccessful) squid fishing and socialising with the group, which I think everybody enjoyed. The trip was well organised and Trang An, Lan Ha Bay and Hoa Lu are all worth choosing this trip over the one day version. I would certainly recommend.
