Lan Ha Bay 2 Days On Cruise: Small-group, Biking, Kayaking, Meals

Great experience with Sunshine Cruises on Lan Ha Bay. The guides, staff and itinerary was brilliant and everything we could have hoped for, with a great ship to stay on with wonderful views. Highly recommend if you're looking to see this part of Vietnam

Charlie is a good tour guide. He made sure we were comfortable and even spent time playing cards with us ! We enjoyed our trip along Lan Ha Bay. Highly recommend !

Amazing location - Halong bay is gorgeous! "Highlight activities" one after the other, lovely staff, good boat, lovely night on the water :) Yet you're on a timetable, often feeling rushed during the day, with underpaid staff & some trash floating around. ... Would suggest a longer cruise than 2 days (1 night), otherwise if you're transferring from eg Hanoi, you'll spend longer in transit than swimming/kayaking/cycling.

A lovely cruise on Ha Long, a lot of included activities and a lot of fun. We enjoyed our spacious cabin, the scenery, the great food and the very nice staff. The boat was just the right size, and we had good travelling companions. The fish nibbling our feet experience was unexpected but great. The only minor downside was the expensive booze on board, but we could see this was where the co. made its money. Bring your own discreetly if you fancy a beer in your cabin!

Had a really great time aboard! Our guide and staff were really friendly and helpfufl and always eager to make the stay enjoyable to the last. Food aboard was delicious and the activities were great fun and with some interesting facts about Vietnamese culture. The rooms were equipped with all necessities and had really big windows to enjoy the landscape. Also the group size was really comfortable as the boat wasn't too big.

Perfect couple of days in such a peaceful area even though it wasn’t sunny. We loved all the activities, especially the kayaking in the beautiful scenery, diving off the boat and the bike ride to the village. All was made fun by Tom our tour guide. The office support from Long was SO helpful as to where to meet and catch the bus as well as rearranging transport when we had to catch a flight afterwards; even keeping in touch when we couldn’t find our pre-arranged taxi! All the staff were friendly, hard working and respectful. Thank you.

The transfers were smooth and professional . The activities were fab and our tour guide was really kind and informative . The food on board was plentiful and the crew were nice

The boat was lovely, the cabin was clean, the bed was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were disappointed that our actual cruse was from Saturday afternoon till 12pm on Sunday. We didn't really feel this was a 2 day cruse. They did our lunch at 10:30am on Sunday morning and we were back on the coach heading back to Hanoi at 12pm. Not in our opinion a 2 day cruse.

What a truly wonderful couple of days on the water, the staff amazing and totally memorable experience, this was definitely worth the journey.

The organisation of the trip is chaotic. The day before the trip, I started receiving Whatsapp messages from four different numbers. We were informed that our cruise would not be the one we had booked, but another similar cruise, the Sunlight Cruise, operated by the company. They would not provide us any description of the cruise/boat. Only once we got to the boat it was clear that it was a cheaper cruise with an older boat - we had seen the cruise advertised and knew it was cheaper than then one we booked. However we were not offered any compensation for the downgrade. I am not sure if this is normal behaviour for the cruise operators here, but it was quite disappointing. Furhermore, the pickup time from Hanoi was almost an hour earlier than written on the initiary (6:50am for us). The bus also makes a half an hour stop at a shop midway.

This is a must do when in North Vietnam because of the geagraphic exclusiveness. Once you have experienced the clam and internetless day out in the sea, many other short experiences in nearby countries are not needed anymore. You won't top Lan Ha Bay. Way less busy than Ha Long Bay *as of now. I hope this doesn't get ruined by over tourism.

Son was a great guide.He and the whole crew were awesome. We had lots of fun with personalized attention .the food was good with thoughtful attention to special requests

Pros: good communication from Dolphin Travel; guide on boat (Mong) spoke perfect English and was very friendly, the crew worked very hard to make sure we were happy. The boat was worn but clean. They give you a LOT of food for both lunch and dinner, we had corn soup, sweet potatoes, fruit salad, fish cakes, beef stew, sticky rice, bread, vegetables. watermelon, potato salad, chicken stir fry, shrimp, bok choy. For breakfast it's toast, fruit, fried eggs, coffee, tea. All the food was very good. Cons: the boat is clean but definitely needs updating. No soap or hand towels in bathrooms. The lounge chairs on top deck need to have better cushions & astro turf has seen better days. It takes about 5 hours to get to boat. We got picked up at 7 and got onto boat around 12. You have to take a ferry over to Cat Ba island so if it's not there when bus arrives, adds some time. BRING your passports! We didn't know we needed them but luckily had them with us. My friends did a similar tour out of Ha Long bay on a much bigger and newer boat. They complained how overcrowed the bay was. Honestly, I think we had a better experience. It was only 10 rooms and 20 people and it was so intimate, we got to know everyone on the boat. Lan Ha bay was not crowded at all. When we went kayaking, there were maybe 5 other kayaks out there. The bike ride on Cat Ba island was fun, about 5k. Be sure you don't leave your feet in the fish pond too long :) Would definitely recommend this as long as you don't expect anything fancy. The boat is clean, the crew works hard for you and the ride is long but worth it! We really enjoyed it and a big shout out to Mong!

Overall it was a good trip. We have been told that the was two "Venezia " cruises, we saw the other one and it seemed much better than the one we have been onboarded. From the itinery it seemed we was going by Ha Long Bai just to see the famous landscape but we didn't. Kayaks were very old and dirty. Cooking class and the bike to Cat Ba Village was very good and the tour guide was nice and explains lots of things. Foods was abundant, lunch of the second day was served at 10.30 am and then we desembarked. Unfortunately for miscommunication between the tour guide and the operator we waited for 5 hours at the bus station. Nobody came to pick us up to go back to Hanoi. We were offered just a coffee for the issue.

The trip was very good and well organized. We had a great time! The food was well curated and all group activities were fun.

The entire experience was brilliant start to finish. All the staff were amazing and the experiences were well planned. Trung did an excellent job hosting the cruise!

Definitely a once in lifetime experience. We got to experience Vietnam by water and explore a hidden wonder of the world. The service was excellent, the staff very personable, and T, our guide, was very informative and helpful, willing to answer all of our questions. Overall amazing experience and highly recommended

What a wonderful cruise that was. You never know before of course, but we were hoping for something really good. What we did get was far from good, it was SPECTACULAR 🤩 the boat, the rooms, the food, the activities, everything was simply perfect :) but most outstanding was our guide Truong. Nice trip! Unfortunately, it was very crowded with other tourists in the area. The staff was informative and sweet:) The activities did not last very long, but we got to try everything. It was nice to see something other than Hanoi. Great for low effort activities and relaxing. There is not many beaches in Halong Bay, but if it was, it would be nicer to get more time at a beach. The beach we went to was tiny and crowded, but it was something

Mr. Trung was our guide for Halong bay cruise tour, he was very good with sharing knowledge about each spot, actively managing the group. He also clicked our beautiful pictures. All the activities and spots were covered properly.It was an amazing trip of 2 days. Had a good time with crew members, Service was prompt and service staff was courteous & polite. Food on cruise was yummy with lot many options in buffet and set menu especially sea food was superb. Room with balcony had a fantastic view and a great experience to have. Overall an amazing tour on Halong bay cruise.

We booked a 2 day 1 night cruise, they pick you up in the morning from Hanoi and drive to Ha Long, where you board the boat. On the way you stop at a pearlfarm, which is more of a salesstop than anything else. Once on the boat we had lunch and got assigned our rooms, which were very very nice! Everyone has a small balcony which was a very unexpected bonus. You ship through the stunning landscape until an ankerpoint, which is also were you spend the night. A smaller boat than takes you to the various activities (kayaking, cave, hilltop viewpoint). Overall it was a nice experience, the staff and especially tour guide Trung were amazing! Only downside was that there’s very little water provided so make sure to bring some, and that you‘re obviously not alone in the bay but with numerous other boats, but that’s to be expected.

The view was very beautiful, it was refreshing. Bit of sports, swimming, climbing, everything in one place. Had an amazing tour guide, Mr Trung, he is a very chill and amazing guy who treated us like his family

We had a fantastic time experiencing the beauty of Halong Bay. Mr. T was exceptional in guiding us on each location and sharing the detailed history of each visited area. The cruise experience overall was very nice, especially the karaoke evening to which Mr. T is an excellent singer! I highly recommend this cruise to all 🤗🤗

Excellent Ha Long Bay cruise with Hera cruises. The trip exceeded our expectations and included more than we thought. Our tour guide (Trung) was very organised and made outlets life easy. We walked through caves, walked up 400 steps to the top of an island, relaxed on a beach and swam in the sea, kayaked in the bay and did Squid fishing. Lots of fun activities. Room was spotless, we were well fed and had an outstanding dinner. Staff were very respectful and engaging. Highly recommend.

Overall trip was great. Staff on the boat were friendly. Tour guide was good. Couple of concerns: People come to Vietnam as they know it’s reasonable pricing, however, on the boat cruise I felt as a tourist we were exploited to pay greatly inflated prices, that are more expensive than our home country, taking the shine off the trip. I would hope the staff are paid very well based on the prices charged. They charge in dollars and if you pay by card they charge you 4% more to convert it to dong even if you have dollars on your card. Passing the cost on to the customer at every point. To continue to grow tourism and repeat visits these concerns need addressing. Having said all this the scenery was amazing, great boat and people.

Mr. T all over the cruise journey has been a great tour guide. The history & importance of every place was explained to us with so much of knowledge. Would suggest to go with them if u really wanna enjoy & learn more about places u visit.
