Our guide Hana had provided us with an authentic experience, knowledgeable and structured tour. The family and I truly enjoyed our time. She was kind, knowledgeable, respectful and fun. Also not to mention the driver was also very good and helpful too! We enjoyed our time on the tour. Well worth it as you could easily spend ours at 1 location whereas if there's structure you can see multiple sites in the day this tour.Great trip ever

Our tour began at Hoa Lu Temple, where i had the chance to explore both the ancient temple dedicated toKing Dinh and the newer one honoring King Le. Before lunch, we went on a relaxing bike ride through a charming village and peaceful lotus flies, which made me feel completely connected to the local culture. Then, we arrived at the beautiful Tam Coc River, surrounded by rice paddies, and enjoyed a serene 1.5-hour boat ride, often called “Ha Long Bay on land”. What made this tour truly special for me was the perfect blend of adventure, history, and stunning scenery. Our guide was so passionate and knowledgeable about the area’s history, which really added depth to the experience. Hiking up to the dragon statues was challenging, but the breathtaking view at the top made it all worth it. I even tried rowing the boat, and while it seemed simple at first, it was much harder than I expected! Lunch was decent, though drinks weren’t included, but honestly, that didn’t take away from the overall experience. I loved every moment of this tour and would recommend it to anyone looking to discover the beauty and culture of Vietnam in a meaningful way.
Our tour guide brought incredible energy and knowledge, making the entire experience both fun and informative. He had a great sense of humor, spoke fluent English and Japanese, and ensured we stayed sate and together throughout the tour. On our way to Tam Coc, he gave a fascinating overview of Vietnam’s landscape. I loved learning about the difference between temples and pagodas in Vietnam, as well as the rich history of Hoa Lu, the ancient capital during the 10th and 11th centuries. The heat and humidity in September were intense. Despite the hot weather, he offered flexible options for exploring Caves, making sure everyone was comfortable. The peaceful boat ride through Tam Coc was a highlight, and he even shared an edited video of our trip, which was a wonderful surprise memories we’ll cherish forever. This tour is perfect for anyone who loves history, nature, and great company!
Great services.excellent tour.Very organized tour in Ning Binh. Our guide, Tim, was very knowledgeable and has shared the history and culture of Vietnam. He is enthusiastic, outgoing, and a good communicator. The modern bus was clean and comfortable. It was raining during our tour but it was still a pleasant experience highly recommended.
Perfect trip Hoa Lu tam coc mua cave .The excursion is totally recommended. They picked us up on time in a very comfortable bus. The guide was very attentive and friendly and he involved us a lot when he explained the information to us. The views and places to visit are incredible. Of course, I recommend that you bring a hat or umbrella for a time on the river boat , many thanks.
Tour was great guide nice and friendly and on time . Boat ride was nice !! The view in the boat around green mountains is beautiful and amazing. Feelers very long and boring in the end . Hard to sit in hard surfaces. There’s bicycle tour but you can do it if you can land is very old in the village
Tam Coc is one of amazing program in our trip to Hanoi , the tour operator arrange our trip smoothly. Besides Ninh Binh and Tam Coc , they also organize us the Halong bay cruise and also pick up and transfer from Hanoi airport. All the program is perfect.
It was an amazing day, beautiful landscapes and experiences. Our guide has been fantastic all day long, very polite, funny and polite, even with some of participants that were not very respectful
A day well spent with the highlight being the the afternoon boat ride. Stunning scenery all around. Excellent lunch as well as time for bicycling along the river. Highly recommend.
Our tour to the Hoa Lu and tam Coc went better than what we expected and we had high expectations. Service was top notch and they took care of any problem we had during our trip. Highly recommend for your plans.
Amazing tour. Very informative with great views of tam coc and ninh binh. The viewpoint is nice. Our tour guide Giang was excellent, his English is very good and gave us a lot about the history of the sights as well as tips about hanoi/Vietnam. Highly recommended tour.
The tour was really great. Our guide was really helpful and went the extra mile to give us a great insight into Vietnamese culture as we travelled to and between the sites. The ancient city and boat trip were nice . I would highly recommend the trip
The trip so nice with all of us. We book the tour on weekday so not too hustle. The weather so beautiful . The lunch on the tour is suite our taste, especially fry rice ( com chay) with Pork Floss. We also buy some packs for snack during the tour. Boating in the river so fantastic feelings. 2 side are yellow fields, the people here is very honest and nice Will recommend to others!
Tam co was beautiful and is fun touring along the river. The trip was amazing, small group and a lot of cool activities. we leisurely cycle trip through a village. I see a lot of thing on the go. There was a large lotus pond, which was good here. It was also impressive that many local young people were visiting. Great guide, comfortable bus, friendly driver. Hat and sunscreen and comfy clothes are a must. Highly recommended
This was our second tour from Hanoi and as our first one was so great and this one was advertised in the same level, we were excited to have another amazing day. It was not amazing at all... Started with our pickup being about an 30-40 minutes late. That was followed by another 30 minutes of getting the other members of the tour - straight off there was not enough space. The tour was overbooked, the bus was cramped and uncomfortable. Our Tour guide, Harry, was great, he really did his best but he had too many clients, not enough time and was completely under scheduled. He tried to keep on top of things but because of overbooking on under planning, he was often getting the short end of the stick. A lot of people complained to him and he always was polite and kept his cool despite the problems not being his, he tried his best to smooth things. There was definitely not enough water supplied. We received a bottle each after leaving Hanoi. A 2.5 hour drive followed with a short but very busy rest stop inbetween. We then made our way to the first location - Le King's Temple. The temples were beautiful and such a treat to visit. But because of overbooking there were 2 in one tours. I thought I had booked and paid for the whole tour but apparently there was another tour on top of ours so we were left at the temples while the rest of the group went off to climb up a mountain to see another temple - something I would liked to have done if I had known it wasn't included. We were left at the temples with no access to the water stands outside the area because if we left the area we couldn't get in - our guide had our tickets. He told us they would be back in 1 hour to 1.45 hour... we waited 2 hours and 20 minutes in the hot sun with no water. They finally arrived to pick us up - it was midday, we were dehydrated, dizzy and hungry. as we were making our way over to the bus the driver stood on the horn loudly right after pulling up. The driver was consistently rude and unpleasant. We finally reached our lunch spot which was extremely underwhelming. Still no water supplied (although advertisement says that water is supplied through the day). The food was ok but lacked in variety or flavour. We then went on and the other group was dropped off again and we had a short drive to Tam Coc. That part of the trip was really great, enjoyed the experience. There was very little communication as to what was happening next, great confusion with the two groups and severely overbooked tour. It was unpleasant, uncomfortable and left us dehydrated, heat exhausted and wishing the trip was over half way through the day. Definitely take a tour into this area as it is very beautiful, but try find a different tour company. I would not say this one was Deluxe in any way. Take hats, extra sunblock and an umbrella.
We had a great day and all thoroughly enjoyed our experiences with great views of Tam Coc and Ninh Binh. The countryside is beautiful. Lunch had lots of options to everyone, and great meals. Our tour guide professionalism was excellent, her English is very good and gave us a lot about the history as well as tips about Ha Noi City and Viet Nam. Highly recommended tour.
Really nice day trip. Good value for money. Just lunch could be improved a little, but the rest was fun
I booked 2 separate tours and found that 2 of the 3 items on both tours was the same, just different descriptions! This tour consisted of a lot of driving along some very bumpy roads. The boat ride through the caves was awesome but a bit long I thought. Advise you take something soft to sit on as nearly 2hrs on the wooden seats ain’t fun! The Dancing Caves, the climb up the 500 steps is not for the faint hearted but the views from the top are amazing. Didn’t think much of the 2 Palaces, would of happily missed that.
Really enjoyable trip. Some of the activities felt a bit rushes but overall a really great trip! The lunch served was good and they accomodated us being vegetarian. The bike ride was really enjoyable and the scenery was beautiful! Definitely a worthwhile trip!
I was spent just a day with here for a short trip to Ha noi and it was satisfied us so much ever. The weather helped us so much even still on their rainy season. We went from surprised to surprised by every scenic view, boat trip, nice food with very nice traditional one as called Goi De - i would never forget these time. Should be highly recommended!!!
I had my great time for my engaging trip with bf, especially thank to Jim , our guide has led us through any kind of the problems. Absolutely come back on avaible time
Very interesting, and fun. The guide was great. The history, the bike ride through the rice field, and the river trip, must see. All for $ 39!
Tam Coc river boat ride is like no other. The ride is for about 1 hour with beautiful landscape everywhere. I hear the scenery is better around summer when the rice grains are fully ripe. The rest of the activities were okay/soso. We only visited 2 temples at Hoa Lu but I think we could have done more (we had the time). Stories told by the guide about the temples were interesting though. The bike ride was nothing special. Bikes were run-down to begin with (breaks not working, loose chains), and we just went biking through some rice fields which weren't very spectacular. Again, we had enough time to do more activities. The buffet food was not of quality. Maybe because of the fact that it was a buffet, it felt as if they were using low-quality ingredients. I wished I'd just paid about 2 USD to eat at a local restaurant like I usually do in Hanoi which usually offers much better quality food.
I was introduced to this tour by a new friend. He has experienced and suggested me. Great. Reasonable, public schedule. Enthusiastic tour guide. The scene is immoral. I am really excited.
A long day tour but worth the journey- the driver was very professional and the guides were awesome. Lunch was delicious. The bikes 🚲 used were awful and service at the bike shop dreadful.
What a great trip! we have had many amazing experiences about people, food. we are especially impressed by the majestic natural beauty. highly recommended
Experience and image of the tour as advertised truth and trust. We were welcomed from hotel on Old a Quarter, enthusiastic guide and driver, charismatic talk. Boat trip on the Ngo Đong river, looking at the surroundings is wonderful. Can't take my eyes off. I'll be back, soon
I like the feeling when we on the bicycle and go through the places. It was short but bringing me the relaxing. Thank Quan for your help and lot of information- super guide
A relaxing trip along the river out of Hanoi and into the more rural areas for viewing excellent weather with amazing scenery. Visiting the temples was nice, The bike ride was also excellent. Very friendly tour guide and helped make the trip more enjoyable.
Transport was efficient what was disappointing was our bus had 3 tours going on which was a little frustrating. The sites we visited was good. Description said water on bus, please note they only give you one bottle at start of day. Lunch was a massive "sizzler" style food hall, which wasn't very nice.
This was one of the top highlights of our Vietnam trip. Despite the rain (it was the wet season), we had a blast on this tour. The boat ride was long (~1.5 hours) and the metal seating was kind of uncomfortable, but it was so much fun to cruise down the river and take in the gorgeous scenery. I think it's important to note that you shouldn’t feel obligated to buy whatever is being sold on the boats passing by—but you should at least tip your rower at the end of the trip. Our favorite part of the tour was the bike ride around the village. The bikes were rusty and falling apart, but that didn’t stop us! We loved our crappy bikes and had a lot of fun taking them on the muddy trail. Some other reviewers have already commented on this, but I’ll add my two cents. The tour company was not very responsive—before and during the tour. It was hard to get in contact with them to confirm our booking and dietary needs, and overall, they just didn’t put much effort in during the tour. It didn’t take away from our experience, but it’s something that does need to be mentioned.
The scenery is very beautiful. This is probably one of the most beautiful places I've ever bên. His enthusiastic and open guide helped me understand the history and culture of Hoa Lu ancient capital-The first capital of Vietnam . Nanboats took us to visit three caves. Nanboats took us to visit three caves. The fresh and cool air is extremely refreshing
Beautiful scenery on this tour. A visit to the temples was amazing. Quan as our guide was full of information on all the places we went. Be prepared for your boat ride, it was a long 2 hours sitting on a metal bench. Great push bike ride around the village to finish off. Thanks
This was an amazing day, a visit to the temple in the morning with a relaxing boat ride in the afternoon. No matter how I would try express how incredible the scenery was wouldn’t justify how extraordinary it is. Our guide was lovely
Tam Coc - Bich Dong is examined as one of the most beautiful places to visit Ninh Binh. This's an excellent way to see the stunning countryside as well as the impedimental city in a small group. It is relaxing deeply during slow pass limestones and caves over an hour
Thiswas one of excellent memory in Vietnam. Should come here. Boat trip in TamCoc amazing. Fantastic fun row boat highly recommends. Our guide has gained excellent information about Ninh Binh through his first English language capital. All in all, you should not miss this to know this beautiful country and its fantastic people
We were caught in a bad weather on our trip to Tam Coc. Socked wet! However the boat trip is still on and we were taken out during the downpour. Cant see much of the Majestic Tam Coc due to the weather. In general the trip is worth going with reasonable price and simple food.
The Hua Lu tour was underwhelming. Perhaps a combination of hyped up expectation and the high heat cum high humidity weather made us feel somewhat let down. Thankfully Tam Coc came after Hua Lu in our itinerary. For our party of 3 average age 65 years, Tam coc was a refreshing and sightseeing delight. Although if our tour company had made provisions for umbrellas, the tour would have been perfect. The Tour bus we travelled in and the guides left much to be desired. Overall average experience.
The tour consists of several activities, including boating in Tam Cok, visiting historical remains, cycling, Vietnamese delicious lunch and with good tour guides!! The landscape of Tam Cok was pretty unique and spectacular! The weather was perfect at the time even though it was raining season. I was lucky.
We have an excellent trip guided by our guide at Ning Binh today. He takes care of our safety and necessary during boating. We also took the boat trip, which leads to spectacular views which can only be seen in this province in Vietnam. I’d highly recommend this tour.
Hilarious guys and made our day trip from Hanoi to Ninh Binh a blast. Beautiful scenery, rice fields, and more! The whole time was well planned out, and the activities we did were lots of fun. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Hanoi.
if you have to choose between this and Halong Bay, choose this one. the experience is more profound and intimate. it feels surreal to see the outcroppings as you float along the river. the biking experience around town was also a good experience to cap the whole trip. highly recommended.
We took this tour today(Apr/27). In the morning we visited the ancient capital Hoa Lu and the two temples of the first & second king. The lunch buffet is ok, after lunch we have a bike trip and a boat trip in Tam Coc. The boat trip is really amazing and really recommend all visitors to Hanoi to try. Thanks as well for our tour guide Quan, he is friendly and provided us a lot of knowledge about Hoa Lu.
Really enjoyed this trip. Got picked up directly from the hotel. Took another 40min to drive along Hanoi to collect the rest of the people. Eventually we were in the way to our trip, but we stopped at this shop with rip off prices for so called 15min, but it was over 30min! We got eventually to Hoa Lu, which was absolutely incredible place! Tour guide was quite knowledgable but hard to understand at time. He gave us leas than 1 hour to walk around which was not enough at all! We ended up running around to see everything which was quite annoying. Later, we got to Tam Coc, we went to see a Halong Bay in land. Impressive! Poor old ladies were towing 6 km overall back and forward via caves, paddy fields.. nice scenery I must say! But, we felt so guilty we ended up helping her to row back.. and, she was asking for a tip as it wasn’t enough what we gave her already! Tour guide advised us if we would be threatened not to be let out the boat because of not giving a tip - dot be scared. Apparently they are not allowed to stop boats on the river just like that. And if not back on time they will get into some serious trouble. Later, we had some time either for ourselves for 1 hr or we could cycle around the town. Town is small so not much to do.. On the way back we stopped for 40 min as we were waiting for a bus to be washed. It was even more annoying thinking that this time could’ve been used to be spend in Hoa Lu.. lunch was ok, too oily so I didn’t eat much. Overall good trip but needed more time!
You have to visit Tam Coc, you will be at peace sailing along the river taking in the scenery. There is nothing like the feeling. I would recommend you do the Mua Cave (hiking) as you get a exceptional view, rather than visit the temple/palace which is not that exciting. Avoid going on a rainy day as it gets cold and makes the experience less pleasant. The Tour Operators were okay 6/10, not everything ran according to schedule which was annoying. Out Tour Guide Doc was very good and informative.
The spot around Tam Coc is beautiful. Your kids and family will love it. It's a very relaxing area and amazingly pretty. We have a boat trip through Tam Coc to see the beauty of the yellow rice fields, and everything seems like you go to a fairy-tale area
Rich in cultural and historical experiences and food. Nature is beautiful. Going down the river you will experience one of the most excellent views, surrounded by rocks and rice fields. Very nice tours certainly.
After that, you get in a boat and paddle under a river for about an hour. You see the beautiful greener(mountainers and limestones). The food was simply amazing and the tours perfection away belief. Experience guide to let us understand about the history in Hoa Lu - Tam Coc
This site is viewed like Halong Bay on land, was unusual. Definitely worth the trip. It's a little touristy but once you're on the boat it is so well-disposed.
I don’t know where to begin. The only good part was the canoe ride in Tam Coc which was 1.5h out of the 12 hours we were gone. There was a stop at a temple that was way too long for what there was to see ( and it was pouring rain), the lunch was absolutely horrible food and we had to sit and wait for 2 hours before leaving. The guides were disorganized and not listening to the needs of the group. Then we were supposed to ride bikes but it was raining and we all agreed not to do it except a couple of people but the tour company should have an alternative ready in case of rain since rain is common. Instead we all sat and waited for an hour. Basically the entire day was a waste of time except the canoe ride. Everyone was quite frustrated. We were starving because in 12hours only one meal was provided. To top things off, at the end they were supposed to drop us off at our hotels, they dropped us off not even close. And, initially when we booked and they emailed asking for our address, we responded and asked what time they would come and sent 3 emails, called a number of times and they were unreachable.
