Wow what a fun experience tonight zipping around Hanoi on Vespas, experiencing the cuisine and taking in all the exciting sites of Hanoi at night. Linh our guide was warm and so friendly while sharing her knowledge of the Vietnam cuisine . The food was amazing and we were very full at the end . Our drivers Shang and Thuong (I think I have his name correct) were fantastic . We would so recommend this tour !!

Itinerary
As this is a food-focused tour, it's important to come with a hearty appetite as there will be plenty of delicious drinks and exotic cuisine to indulge in. We'll have the opportunity to savor the most authentic dishes at the most popular local spots where friends and family gather to enjoy meals together.
Upon meeting our guide and drivers at your hotel, we will receive a thorough safety briefing on how to ride the vintage Vespa and instructions on how to comfortably and easily get on and off the bike. We will also learn simple signals to use while riding. Our tour guide will provide us with a detailed itinerary and ask about any special food requirements. Once we are fully prepared, we will hit the streets to embark on our adventure.
Our tour begins with a visit to a family-run eatery that boasts the best steam rolled cake, Banh cuon, in Hanoi. Our next stop is a 45-year-old restaurant that specializes in Bun cha, a local dish of grilled pork with vermicelli noodle, as well as other delicacies such as Banh goi (pillow cake), local doughnut, and fresh/fried spring rolls.
After indulging in the savory dishes, we'll navigate through the bustling streets of the Old Quarter, where vendors display colorful lanterns and lights for decoration. Our ride will then take us to the Red River, where we can marvel at the breathtaking view of Hanoi city by night on both sides. Following the narrow streets, we will arrive at a local BBQ seafood eatery, where freshly caught and cooked seafood dishes await us.
Our tour guides will take us on a ride to West Lake where we can capture stunning night time photos. Here, we can witness the guards marching out to ceremonious music to take the flag down at Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, giving us a glimpse of the immense respect paid by the locals for this daily event.
Afterward, we will make a stop at a hidden local café that has been serving Egg Coffee since 1946. This is your chance to try the best coffee in town and end the night on a high note with a unique and delicious drink.

I was in Hanoi for a short time and although I had been here previously wanted a fun food tour. Shang was my guide and Khang was my Vespa driver and I had a great time. You move around Hanoi to different parts and each stop is a different and tasty experience. I would recommend for a person on their own or a group. You will be well looked after and you get to experience Hanoi, safely on the back of a Vespa. Note: The food was the highlight!
Exceptional food tour and tour guide. All of the places were unique, clean, high quality food and in different parts of the city. I saw much more on this tour and felt like I was traveling like around like a local because I was. Shane, my driver shared slot about food, culture and history of Vietnam. Could not recommend more - do yourself a favor and book this tour
OMG what a brilliant food tour!! Summi and her crew were so accommodating as some had allergies to seafood. We experienced true Vietnamese breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and train street. So fresh, diverse and filling. All drinks included with our package to. A must to do tour and an unforgettable experience on Vespa's. Book it now guys!!! Thanks heaps and your photos are awsome 😀 😊 😍
This Vespa food tour was one of the highlights of my trip! Riding through Hanoi at night on the back of a Vespa was such a fun way to experience the city — you get to see places you’d never find on your own and the food was incredible at every stop. Big thanks to our amazing drivers Khang, Cuong, Bach, and Chris — they were super friendly, funny, and made us feel safe the whole way. We laughed a lot, ate even more, and had a great time learning about the food and local culture. Highly recommend if you want something fun, authentic, and a little different while you're in Hanoi!
Shang was an outstanding guide on our Vespa food tour—super friendly, knowledgeable, and a great conversationalist. He made sure everyone in the group felt comfortable and engaged, sharing interesting details about Hanoi’s food culture and the city along the way. His driving was impeccable, and I felt completely safe at all times, even in the city's buzzing streets. The food stops were well-chosen, and his recommendations made everything even better. If you’re looking for a fun, insightful, and stress-free food adventure, you’ll be in great hands with Shang. Highly recommend this experience!
We had an amazing experience seeing the city from the back of the scooter. Shang and Bao had a lot of insight on the history and the delicious food we were able to try! Would 100% recommend this to anybody that wants to try authentic food while learning something about the history and culture of Hanoi!
Chris and the team were brilliant. It’s a must do . Touring round on Vespa’s and eating local street. Chris was a great host interesting, informative and fun guy. 👌
I had the pleasure of embarking on this experience through the streets of Hanoi. As you would expect, I was initially skeptical to travel through the streets on a Vespa. However Chris and his team were were exceptional drivers and I felt at ease after no time ! The food was great and Chris was very knowledgeable and understanding to some of our unique needs. What made the expereince for me was the great chats we had as Chris was not only really interesting but a hilarious man too ! It really made my expereince all the more enjoyable, would recommend chris and his boys to all !
Family trip, what an amazing experience getting a tour and being shown some great food spots. Couldn't recommend this anymore, a must do if in Hanoi! Chris and his team were on job and nothing phased them, goat level driving skills 🐐🤝
Great way to see Hanoi at night! food was delicious. I am vegetarian and the accommodated me completely. Alex was a fantastic guide. So fun! Really my favorite thing I’ve done in Vietnam! Got to see 2 trains on train street!
We were met by our guide Chris and our drivers Tony and Tu at our hotel in the Old Quarter. We mentioned to guide Chris that we had previously done the Vespa night tour, to which he excused himself and retuned after a few minutes saying that he had just completed rearranged our itinerary explaining that some of the stops were the same as the night tour. We were most surprised and impressed that this was done with no expectation or complaint. The tour itself was again extremely impressive and gives a very different view of the city by day over night. Drivers were again skilful in the afternoon traffic navigating us around sites that we hadn’t otherwise seen. Finished with a nice coffee. Definitely recommend. Further to this, Chris the guide took the extra time to engage with us in English on a more personal level, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
We absolutely loved this tour. Perry and Bean did a fabulous job driving us around amongst the busy streets and we felt safe. We tried authentic Vietnamese cuisine in restaurants we would never have known about. Just superb. We absolutely recommend this!
Chris is the best Vespa driver in Hanoi! He gave me a fantastic overview of the city, and also was happy to answer my many questions about everyday life in Vietnam. His food picks were wonderful, he selected just the right mix of adventurous but not TOO adventurous- ha. Very, VERY fun evening!
Advised to take this tour to combat jet-lag, we were seriously impressed. First time/night in Hanoi, this was the ideal introduction. Vespa drivers: safe, considerate, knowledgeable, food enthusiasts! Experience: immersive and engaging. Food: amazing, varied, tasty. We absolutely loved this tour: six courses in six places: a wide variety of foods, from Obama's Bun Cha, to a drink at train street and dessert to round it off. Just don't eat too much at the first stop! I honestly cannot recommend this highly enough: it may well have been the highlight of our very varied 10 day journey through this amazing country.
So glad I did this tour. It was just tour guide Bean and I, which meant we had some interesting conversations about his life in Hanoi. Food selection didn’t disappoint either. And the 150cc Vespa ride between each venue was thrilling (and felt pretty safe).
Amazing tour. Seat back and enjoy cruising through night Hanoi. Unexpected cuisine discovery. Super friendly guides. Get your bellies ready for delicious food selections.
Oh wow! this was the best food tour we had experienced! Hung, Danh, Duc, Hieu and Phong were sooooooo good and fun! They were so knowledgeable of the city and best places to eat. We loved all the food experiences and mini sight seeing - which was a bonus! We will definitely be back to do this again when we return to Hanoi.
This was super-fun. We were six people. Nana and Grandad, our daughter and her husband and their two children, 7 and 3. The 3-year old rode with mum on the back of the bike, but the 7 year old rode on his own on the back of the bike. The children loved it. Nana was a little aghast at the traffic, but the drivers were all very careful and experienced. It was good to make several stops to break up the trip. We had a variety of experiences - large boulevards, narrow lanes, even a close brush with a train. The food was delicious, especially the mango dessert. The protocol was rigid (always helmets) and the skill of the drivers perfect. They were all super-friendly and our guide very knowledgeable. Five stars for a wonderful experience.
This was one of our highlights of the trip!! The team was absolutely amazing and took exceptional care of us (even running out and buying donuts for our persistent 7 and 3 year olds! ❤️) The food choices were delicious, the explanations were well described and as we whizzed through the streets of Hanoi with the breeze in our hair, and streetlights and lanterns passing by, I couldn’t have been happier that we had booked these tickets: Thank you so much for such a wonderful time!!
Very good tour and well organized. Great food and tour guides. special thanks to Mai for driving well and giving me a glimpse of all the hot spots as we rode past them.
Absolutely loved the tour and ride. My driver was Mai. Her riding always felt safe and smooth. Not recommending this to everyone but I was able to free my hands to record myself on video. We covered so much of the city and the the number of bikes on the road was incredible. Fantastic to experience weaving through as part of the traffic. Stopped at several places to try local street food - included snails, oysters, crail eggs and the "famous" Obama meal of Bun Cha. Incredible experience.
Great selection of food with avery thorough explanation of it's history and how to make it. Ninh was very knowledgeable about the city history, and passionate about his city. He was very attentive and answered all our questions.Evening was a great time of day to do the trip, the city is beautiful at night.
We chose this tour over a walking street food tour and I am so glad we did. Ninh was an incredible guide, so knowledgeable and willing to discuss any topic. He took us to many different scenic and food places and we got to eat all the foods Hanoi is known for ( don't eat a big lunch, or lunch at all). We finished with egg coffee and egg chocolate by Train Street, a fitting finale to the evening! I would very strongly recommend this tour, if you only have a short time here, make sure this is on your itinerary!
My friends and I did the bike tour and loved it. We visited interesting places. The food was good and so was the coffee. Highly recommended.
It was a really great experience, we went with an english speaking guide which seems to really love his country and know a lot about it. He gave us the history of the places and suggestion about restaurant. I felt really safe during the ride even when we passed by huge trafic area. Really good experience to see the Hanoï ever
