Itinerary
At either 8:00 AM or 1:00 PM, your tour guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby and provide a safety briefing before we start our ride.
We'll start by crossing the Red River via Long Bien Bridge, the oldest bridge in Hanoi constructed over 100 years ago during the French colonial era. From here, you can take in the panoramic view of the Red River, watch the boats floating underneath, and observe the green vegetable farms on the nearby island.
Next, we'll cruise along the Red River's banks to appreciate the breathtaking landscapes of Vietnam's countryside and observe farmers tending to their fields. We'll also visit a local family who specializes in bonsai-making to appreciate their intricate works of art and gain insight into the region's customs and way of life. Our guide will assist us with translation during our conversation with them.
Following that, we will ride our bikes to a local wet market and taste some tropical fruits. We take a break at lotus lake to fill our thirst with sugarcane juice or some local fresh drinks. Keep cycling through dirt roads and rural villages until we arrived at Co Loa Ancient Citadel which was built in 200 BC to learn about Vietnam’s tradition of establishing and defending the country against foreign invaders of Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong.
Afterward, we'll visit a fruit garden and head to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch where you can taste Hanoi's delectable cuisine. Later, we'll indulge in a unique Egg Coffee before returning to your hotel. Let us share our love of Hanoi with you!
We’ll make a visit to a local family making bonsai to learn about this intricate art form and admire some of the stunning plant creations. This is a wonderful way to learn more about local daily life and tradition, our guide will assist us to chat with them as a translator.

This is our first time visiting Hanoi. We didn’t have a lot of days so wanted to pack in as much as possible. We booked the Vespa tour for a chance to discover Hanoi and learn about the life of its local people. We had a great time with our friendly, polite and accommodating tour guide Summi and her team. Riding the vintage Vespa was a plus. Those Vespas had customized raised backrest, which added safety. Summi and her team took us through Hanoi’s landmarks, the history behind those landmarks, plus visiting two local families in the suburbs of Hanoi. My highlight was the chance to visit Mr Ngo’s family which has been living in the area over 18 generations. A section of his house was/is well-maintained over 200 years with many antique, family tree with luminating stories from the era of the last king of Vietnam, vua Bao Dai.
Shang was an amazing host. We ate at a local restaurant where the food was fabulous. The ride and places to visit were great. Shang was very knowledgeable and polite. Highly recommend.
This was my second time doing the Vespa countryside tour, and needless to say, it is always such a lovely experience. Thank you to Shang and the others was safely driving us, taking so much care to share their knowledge and experiences , and engaging in the mostly lively conversations. It’s these little bits that makes travel experiences worth it :)
Amazing! An incredible private tour on a Vespa with a skilled pilot and joining us was a professional guide , Anna. I did a 5 hour trip just outside of Hanoi. It was a great experience.
On the final day of our trip, we decided to book the Vespa Countryside Tour at the last minute. The tour was amazing, we saw a glimpse into local life in the countryside and was a nice break from Hanoi city. The tour guide Hoa and drivers Bao and Thuong were wonderful. Could not more highly recommend booking this tour!
Great trip love exploring on the motorbike very knowledgeable tour guide . Nice way to see rural lifestyle and be out of the city
What a great way to kick off our trip to Vietnam. We did the afternoon village Vespa tour. Bao and Hieu were excellent drivers keeping us safe and comfortable and Shang was a wonderful guide who shared much, history, wisdom and passion for the village culture of Vietnam. If you have a day, or half day, to fill do not hesitate to ask for Shang. You won’t be disappointed !
What an amazing day we had with Happy as our guide. We loved seeing a little of the countryside as we are in Hanoi only a few days. Learned a lot about how people live in the villages and visited the An Duong Vuong temple. We felt very secure with our drivers as they navigated the Hanoi traffic. The tour ended with a great meal at Pho Cuón Hung Bėn. Absolutely recommend.
Had an amazing morning doing this tour with my daughters. Our tour guides Shang , Tom , Bao were exceptional. We got a great mix of history, creativity, adventure and culinary delights. 10/10
Chang was an excellent driver and very informative. The places we went to were interesting and fun. The house visit was especially enlightening about Vietnamese culture and the lunch was delicious. The antique, but fully functioning Vespa was a nice touch.
Chris was my tour guide for a solo countryside ride. He was an awesome guide with tons of knowledge and extremely personable. I did this on the last day of my week long stay. It was great to make it out of the city to see the deeper culture. I was particularly interested in the rice harvest and he explained all of the steps to me. Thank you Chris for such a great tour!
I went on this amazing trip with Shang and first of all a very decent guide very respectful and treated me very very well He is very knowledgeable and I enjoyed my vespa ride ever bit. I would highly recommend him to all the travelers and he makes you enjoy hanoi. Thank you the amazing trip shang
A great tour overall that takes you to the countryside of Hanoi. I learned a lot and have a deeper appreciation for the Vietnam; highly recommended!
Great tour by Chris and his team. We were picked up in the old town so got the excitement of Hanoi traffic as well as the calm of the countryside. Felt very safe all the time. All the drivers were friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. Visiting Mr Kai’s (?) bonsai garden was a high point. He had so much to tell us about his long life in Vietnam. Definitely recommend this tour
Chris was an excellent guide. Fluent in English, funny, knowledgeable, flexible quickly changing the lunch plans based on a shellfish allergy, and took us to interesting stops in the countryside. Just the right amount of time at each stop. Highlights were driving down a pavement between rice fields barely wider than the jeep😮, a dress rehearsal for an upcoming festival at a 600-yr old temple, and visiting Mr. and Mrs Cahn at their home😊. He is a 30-yr army veteran who grows over 100 bonsai trees. He served us tea and shared his town and family history. Be prepared though for no seat belts in the 1970 era jeep. Luckily our driver easily navigated city and country roads. 😮😮
This was a great trip with excellent guide and driver. I really enjoyed getting away from the touristy areas and seeing the countryside
This tour provided a great experience seeing the outer regions of Hanoi and life for locals in these rural villages. One of the biggest highlights of our trip to Vietnam.
Booked the tour together with my mother and daughter (a toddler of almost 3 years old). It was a great experience of experiencing the different scenes of Vietnam. Summi is very well articulated. She is a very friendly guide. She makes the tour a pleasant one. Not forgetting Shang, who takes really great photographs. Loads for memory keepsake. Kudos to the lunch place they took us too. Took us by surprised, at how yummy it is. My toddler even enjoyed herself! She was even asking where Summi is after we departed. Although it’s a little too warm today, it was well worth it. Thank you for bringing us to the local market (experiencing what the locals do their marketing at), as well as catching the train at the train street! Thank you so much. Highly recommended!
All locations are best & each having their own specialty, jeep ,guide ,cameraman all are excellent, specially audrey great energy & hospitality
