the sampans were excellent, a blissful way to spend a couple of hours. when you dock your body there's fish food to buy to feed the fish at the pier. that was great fun.
The way VIATOR set this up was not good. The buffet was terrible, the fact that initially the package appears to be a good deal initially is actually misguided because you need to pay everything else in cash and in person. The website states I get to choose where to go but I didn't. Some of us were told to go to the buffet for some reason and others were not. It was confusing. The driver and tour guide were excellent and I don't have complaints about them. During the tour our guide was very helpful, knew his history, and gave us good advice.
My experience was outstanding my tour guide sofi linh was very co operative she explained everything about our sightseeing and very helpful we enjoyed her company very much and foods was also very nice thank you
What a fab day Long boat ride Wonderful scenery
Excellent tour with Henry who was well organised and very polite. Lots of fun insights into history and Vietnamese values. Even some language tips. The sights were great and everything was on time
Good experience brought us everywhere and bobby was v professional and organised. Lunch could be better
I had an absolutely amazing experience on my private Ninh Binh tour, and I cannot recommend it enough! Everything was perfectly organized, and having a private tour made it even more special and flexible. But what truly made this experience unforgettable was our guide, Su. Su is simply exceptional. She is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what she does. Throughout the day, she shared fascinating insights about the history, culture, and local life in Ninh Binh, which made every place we visited so much more meaningful. What I appreciated the most was how attentive and thoughtful she was. Since it was a private tour, she adapted everything to my pace and preferences, never rushing and always making sure I was fully enjoying each moment. As someone who loves photography, I especially appreciated how she helped me find the best spots and even assisted with taking photos—she really understood what makes a place special. The entire day felt smooth, relaxed, and perfectly tailored thanks to Su’s excellent organization. I felt completely taken care of from start to finish. If there were 100 stars, I would give Su 100 without hesitation—but since the maximum is 5, she deserves every single one of them! Thank you, Su, for making this such a unique and memorable experience. I will never forget this tour!

Nature is 100% amazing, but boat tour is taking 2 hours which is extremely too much. This tour definitely needs some corrections in timing. 1 hour boat tour is maximum what we need and for Mua Cave hiking was given only 1 hour which is impossible to do during this time. There are lots of stairs and 1 hour in hot weather is not enough. It is worth to see of course but timing for the stops should be amended.
Son was such a really nice tour guide!! The adventure was well structured and we had nice time visiting many things. The food was really good and the bike time was super cool too. Really recommended!!
Overall this was a worthwhile trip. The Mua Cave and Tam Coc boat tour were fantastic, though crowded. The Hoa Lu stop was nice to see, but certainly not particularly memorable. The bus pickup was a little disorganized, but the ride to to Ninh Binh and back went smoothly. The lunch at Tam Coc was the low point of the day. The restaurant was very crowded, hosting at least 3 tour groups simultaneously, with no assigned seating. The buffet line was very long, and the food was mediocre. A good experience that could have been improved with a better lunch and a bit more organization.
Tour Guide Tom was great, very good English, very friendly and very helpful. The tour was well organised and the food was delicious. Highly recommend!
Tour bus pickup us on right time.. Our guide provided pickup details and time one day prior and he was right on time. The sits just behind Driver were not comfortable for person of height 5'10" Tour guide was good .. explained about the place and Vietnam history.
Great sights but day felt slightly unorganised and the lunch was horrendous. A proper sloppy buffet that nobody seemed to enjoy. The boat trip was definitely the highlight of the trip but because of poor planning the tour guide screamed at the poor workers to rush us around to catch up on time. The last stop was only 1 hour instead of 2 because of 6 toilet trips during the day. We felt slightly robbed at the end of the trip but the sights were great.
Great way to see Ninh Binh if short of time. Beautiful landscapes and varied activities in the tour (stairs up the mountain, cycle, see a temple, ride a boat). Trang An is incredible! The organisation was a bit chaotic because it was a big bus group (and that also makes waiting times longer getting everyone in and out of places) and the tickets to places weren't included (VND 350,000 p.p), but worth doing and good value for money.
Recommend! I had a very pleasant experience with this tour. We were 5 people, booked for a private tour and they make our day magic! Thank you very much!
I had a great experience with my travel guide Fong. He knew all the shortcuts to make the trip as smooth as possible. Not only that, he guided us to the best spots for photos. I highly recommended Fong as your tour guide.
Booke a private tour to Ninh Binh last minute and it turned out great. Fong did an amazing job showing us around. Had a great time.
We loved the tour as there was variety - bus, boat, bike, and hike. The only downside was lunch. It was bad.
Our tour guide Minh was great. He was very accommodating and we had a wonderful experience on this tour. I highly recommend.
Amazing trip. Our guide Kenny worked tirelessly to make sure we made all the sites! Seeing the jungle on the boat trip was amazing, climbing the mountain and seeing the old capital and learning the history was inspiring. Great value for money would reccommend!
The day trip was well organised and fun. Tour guide was attentive and made the experience more wholesome. Ninh Binh is so beautiful and we got to experience a part of it
A very disappointing experience. The destination and stop on the way are completely focused on mass tourism only and this ruins what we were hoping would be an escape to nature from the City. The boat cruise saved the day, but everything else was terrible and the worst being the food in the tour company's own restaurant. To end it on a really bad note, the trip back is 3 hours not 2 hours as they tell you. If we had known this we would not have gone.
It was a great day. Our guide, Henry and driver Mr Happy were amazing. Well organised, very good value for money. Would highly recommend it if you are thinking of doing a day trip from Hanoi.
My Family had a great time in Vietnam, especially for our first international vacation! Mr. Windy’s company had superb guides, in Hanoi we had Ms. Selena, She was very knowledgeable and friendly, it was an interesting experience to have them as our tour guides. Always eager to take pictures and capture our experiences. Very satisfied and happy with the services :)
We had a great time at Hanoi for the two days we spent there. Ms. Selena was an amazing tour guide! She knows her audience and the places very well, with all the accurate information and interesting anecdotes.A really memorable experience. 10/10 :)
Friendly tour guide. Well-organized trip and great value for the price paid. Overall, dedicated service from the team
The guide was 45 minutes late for pickup and barely communicated. The locations were beautiful but full of tourists. The lunch wasn’t very good, it was a buffet in a too full restaurant so you couldn’t even sit with your group.
The tour was excellent, our guide did his best to accommodate all of us. Everything was as advertised. Ninh Binh is gorgeous and worth an overnight tour.
Binh was a very friendly and helpful tour guide, and our trip to Nihn Binh was amazing. The activities were great and all planned out very well.
Felt like we were on a field trip. Mounds of tourists everywhere. The boat ride at the end was cool but partially ruined by the sea of boats and orange life vests around
It was an amazing day trip. I totally recommend for the scenery that you will see, the guide was very friendly and helpful, the activities were fun. Overall, it was a great experience.
It was such a good experience!! Thao was my guide and he was very kind and soft-spoken. Knew a lot about the culture and background of Vietnam and shared it with us. We went on a boat ride surrounded by mountains and rice fields, cycling (which was my favourite!), & finally a hike with the coolest view. Also my group was a smaller size than in my other tours and so I got to make friends easily! This is definitely a tour I would recommend to anyone visiting Vietnam!
The tour was excellent, very well run and the included buffet lunch was very good. The tour guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. He advocated tipping the boat rowers, the driver, and himself, but only once and in a dignified way (unlike the guide from the Ha Long Bay day tour that I took). I think the tour companies should pay their guides and drivers more, but maybe that makes no difference in tip solicitation. I didn’t give 5 stars for my experience not because of the tour company, but because Mother Nature didn’t cooperate (it rained quite hard so we couldn’t see much); summer would be a better time and provide a better experience.
great !! The tour was a bit long but really good, the guide was so so great. I would recommend going to Ninh Binh for a night thought.
Excellent experience, our tour guide Tyson is the best, he is very knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks to his knowledge he makes all the entrances to the points of interest very easy and uncomplicated, everything was great. I definitely recommend him. All the places are wonderful. thank you very much.
Our tour guide James was fantastic. He was informative, entertaining and made the tour a great experience (despite other tourists returning later from stops). All the spots we visited were beautiful, highly recommend. Thank you James for a great day
Although I can recommend the area, and the tour guide was trying his best I would suggest they implement changes. We booked this because it was a small tour, which we prefer. While there, the tour guide had to go back to add more people to the tour which interrupted mid point. We were made aware of the boat rowers should be tipped. Not a problem, but than we found out from the mad woman that they didn't get paid for it at all and we should pay more.
Increidible tour. After being a short time in Hanoi, i think this tour is a must. Minh is so professional at his job, makes you learn a lot about his culture and about this place. Would totally recommend!
Loved this tour so much! I usually try to avoid tours because I don't like being at the mercy of someone else's itinerary but this one covered everything I wanted to do. So I gave it a shot l and I'm very glad I did. The sites we visited were amazing. We had plenty of time to explore each place and I didn't feel rushed at any point. Our guide James was an absolute gem of a man. He was extremely well organised and explained things really well. He gave me some new perspectives of Vietnam, the people and the culture. The part I was dreading, was the buffet lunch but as soon as the scent of lemongrass hit my nose I knew it wasn't going to be a basic meal experience
Pretty good, your guide Tim was great, tour was a little slow but I think that was because of the incompetence of the other people in our group.
This trip was long and exhausting but so fun!! Our tour guide speaks English and told us many jokes and lots of history of Hanoi and Ninh Binh area. He made a difference whether your 12 hour day is going to be good or bad. There is a lot of driving but all is forgiven once you get off and get to go on a boat ride, bike ride, and a hike with an amazing view!
I received an email 15 hours before the tour was supposed to start about additional fees and securing a pass. I emailed them back within 45 minutes asking for clarification: do I need to secure entrance passes to the park, pay about $14 USD additional for myself or $28 for myself and my 1 year old, I didn’t hear anything back for several hours. I didn’t hear anything again until I get a message saying I’m one of 13 stops tomorrow be on time no one likes to wait. I wrote back explaining my questions were never answered I was asked who told me I needed to pay more and was told to just calm down. I told the caller that was rude and. I am no longer interested in going on a trip with them. I also requested a refund. After I clearly said I wasn’t going and asked for a refund I proceeded to get a call from them at 0745 telling me the bus will be there to get me in a moment. I said I wasn’t going, I didn’t feel safe with them, I had no confidence in them to treat me respectfully. I want my money back.
Trang An landscape was extraordinary. Nice trip around and Definitely recommend it! This place is one of the prettiest places I’ve visited. The tour guide Tony was really informative about the history and culture, and also made the trip more interesting. The food at lunch time was also good - a small buffet with many dishes.
Super good experience. Lots of activities, day goes by quickly. A few things to take note of: bus is crammed. Please expect this. And when you get to the temple if you are wearing shorts or a short skirt you will have to put on one of their complimentary brown skirts. Lunch is a buffet which is packed full of tourists. As for tickets you need to pay entry into the caves on top of the already paid tour.
We decided to visit both Trang An and Tam Coc, and Windy customized the day perfectly for us—it was truly amazing! Our guide, John, took excellent care of us throughout the day and helped us capture some fantastic photos. The trip wouldn’t have been the same without him!
Great value full day tour. Guide and driver excellent. Lunch good. Bicycle tour fun. Would highly recommend
Tuan is a professional guide with deep knowledge of Vietnamese history, as well as the history of the Ninh Binh area. The trip was wonderful because he spoke clearly and was very attentive to my family during the boat tour in Tam Coc and the hike to Hang Mua. The natural scenery is stunning, the food is delicious and diverse, and the tour fare was very reasonable, and the guide is considerate and fluent in English. Highly recommend this tour!
Tony our guide and the driver were fantastic. Good communication about pick up time etc. the tour was brilliant 12 hours packed with activities. Highlight was the boat ride. Climb to the top of Mua Cave was difficult for 60+ person but manageable. The views are beautiful so worth it. Buffet lunch was good opportunity to try local goat dish. Highly recommend tour
