We wrote to Max to book a food tour, but he was fully booked, so he suggested another guide, Dan. And honestly it was great. Dan really cared about us. He kept asking if we liked the food, if we were ok, if we wanted to know more. It was clear he really wanted us to have a good evening, and we did. We are both introverts, so for us it felt more like hanging out with a friend than a tour (exactly what we wanted). He was calm, kind and just easy to be around, and we liked that a lot. He answered all our questions and told us the stories behind the food and about Vietnamese people. The food selection was amazing too!

This tour is a must when you visit Hanoi. We had a nice experience trying out a lot of food wtih a feel of the Vietnam vibe. Dan was our assigned tour guide and we really appreciated him. He was very helpful, patient, accommodating - he even offered to carry my bag (I had a big bag with me because I needed to bring my kid's stuff). He tried his best to make things convenient for us. Dan is also professional, he is a smart guy and you can see he loves what he does. We really wish him success in his endeavor in the tourist business.

We took a private food tour in Hanoi and were quite satisfied with it. We visited eateries we wouldn't have gone to otherwise, and the food was good. However, our guide Dan, he questioned what we were doing and kept harping on about things. For example, he kept asking about reviews and said we looked nervous even we weren't. We got little annoied about that kind of behaviour. He was joking so much, and first it was funny but then it went weird. Dan also wondered why we didn't find his jokes funny at the end and kept questioned about that too..

Dan took us to great places and was very friendly and had great english! Helped us cross roads safely and told us the way to eat the different types of food. We also was given options to walk scenic or faster routes depending on our preference.

Jay was so friendly and easy to talk to. She took us to such incredible places and explained some of the culture as well. She was very entertaining as well. The amount of food felt perfect as portion sizes weren’t too big or too small and length of the tour was good as well. Price felt very well justified for what we got. The places we weren’t too weren’t too quiet or too crowded and all had a nice atmosphere. They’re also very accommodating with allergies and preferences. Was a great way to start our time in Hanoi, could not recommend more!!

The tour guides were very knowledgeable, nice, and accommodating. They took very good care of us and made sure we had a good experience. The food was delicious, the town is beautiful, and train street was cool. Would definitely recommend and would do it again.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Jay on our private food tour in Hanoi. Honestly, she was exceptional from start to finish. My wife and I were trying authentic Vietnamese food for the first time, and we were a little unsure about what to expect. Jay made the whole experience so enjoyable. Her English is excellent, she’s incredibly friendly, and she has a genuine way of making you feel comfortable from the moment you meet her. What really stood out was how thoughtful and accommodating she was. She picked us up directly from our hotel, took us on foot to some fantastic local food spots that we would never have discovered on our own, and made sure we were comfortably brought back to our hotel afterwards. We were travelling with our two-year-old daughter, and Jay was absolutely brilliant with her. She was patient, warm and great with families. Our little one felt so comfortable around her and even enjoyed eating at the different places we visited. That made a huge difference to the experience for us as parents. The food itself was fantastic. We got to try several local Vietnamese dishes for the first time, discover little places we would have otherwise walked straight past, and experience a side of Hanoi that we probably wouldn’t have found exploring on our own. We’ve come away wanting to try so much more Vietnamese food! We actually discovered this business through Instagram, and it’s great to see that they’re doing such a fantastic job both online and in person. The experience genuinely lived up to what we saw. Jay, thank you for making our first proper introduction to Vietnamese food such a memorable one. You clearly care about what you do, and it shows in the way you look after your guests. If you’re visiting Hanoi, especially as a family or with young children, I would highly recommend booking a private food tour with Jay. Don’t hesitate. The food was all fantastic however the experience was even better because Dan was such a great guide, he took us to all the best places and even kept us entertained throughout the walk and gave us great tips on where to go on the remainder of our holiday. What an amazing experience we had this evening with the lovely Jay. 🫰 Jay was so informative from the beginning, she gave us the rundown of our guide as soon as we met up and from there the night ran so smoothly. Being our first time in Hanoi, we were somewhat cautious of where to dine but Jay guided us and we ate dishes from some locals very own homes. This was something we would never had experienced if not for this tour guide. Thank you so much, we will have this fun memory of Hanoi for many years.
