Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Street Food Tour

Our tour guide, Duc was fantastic! He picked us up from our hotel very easily, led us through crossing the street and showed us to spots we never would have discovered without him. We were able to try so many new dishes and we would definitely recommend booking this tour if you’d like to explore Hanoi’s most unique dishes. He even asked us if we had any special requests so he can adjust his plans according to what we liked!

The food was delicious, especially the Buncha. We had a variety of food. We went to several local places. The venues were close to each other.

Amazing experience! we went to so many local places and had bahn mi, bun cha, sticky rice w different toppings like braised pork, egg, sausage and so much more. Cool different desserts too. Amazing tour with cool facts about the history of the food as well. 10/10 recommend. Chung was amazing.

This was the BEST DECISION I MADE IN HANOI! Minh was an EXCELLENT guide - all of the stops were unique and delicious, and Minh was genuinely interested in getting to know us and helping us get to know and love Vietnam. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the local history, the culture, and the FOOD! If I had stayed longer I would have done this tour every night. He also provided incredible recommendations for food and more in Hanoi, Hue, and Hoi An - I ate everywhere he recommended in Hoi An and it was all exceptional. So grateful I did this tour. I consider this a MUST for any Hanoi visit!

One of the highlights was being taken to his mum’s award-winning shop, which made the experience feel so personal and authentic. It was clear how proud Bob was to share these special places with us. Ricky was an amazing guide for our food tour through Hanoi Old Town. The stops were excellent, very local, and everything was paced perfectly with an easy walk between places. He shared cool insights along the way, clearly knows the area and the people really well, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and authentic. Ricky was awesome! I wasn't sure how to get to the meeting point so he swung by and picked me up on his motorcycle! Greatly appreciated! We ate so much food - I was stuffed! (So don't worry - you will sample plenty of delicious food). Best of all was the history he gave us regarding the tiny street cafes we visited. We had a wonderful time exploring the delicious foods available in the Old Quarter! Rick is a fantastic guide and peppered the afternoon with bits of history and much good humor. This tour is an excellent way to learn more about the cuisine of Northern Vietnam.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour through Hanoi. Our tour guide Nick was welcoming and knowledgeable. We did the 11:30 tour and tried a good variety of Vietnamese food along our three hour tour. It was great to have some exposure to places that we wouldn't have been game enough to try on our own. Nick even took us through some back alleys as we navigated around Hanoi which was a fun experience in itself. The food was delicious and Nick's insight made for a very enjoyable tour. Would definitely recommend doing this tour as one of your first activities in Hanoi so you can get a feel for the food you like, where is good to eat and a few tips and tricks about navigating Hanoi. We did the tour as an extended family of 6 with a baby in tow and it was well catered to everyone.

Chris and I absolutely loved this food tour in Hanoi and it ended up being one of our favorite experiences we booked through TripAdvisor. The selection of dishes of this listing was fantastic. Every stop felt like it’s a popular place or favorite and each dish gave us a different taste of Hanoi’s incredible food scene in the Old Quarter. We arrived hungry and left very happy and satisfied! Our guide Chi, made the entire evening unforgettable. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the origins of each dish, which restaurants in the Old Quarter serve them best and the little details about how locals in Hanoi actually enjoy these foods in everyday life. It didn’t really feel like a tour, but it felt like being shown around by a friend who genuinely loves her city and wanted us to love it as well. What made the tour extra special was Chi’s friendly personality. She kept everyone engaged by playing fun conversation games along the way, asking questions like favorite movies, biggest accomplishments of 2025, and other ideas that made the group feel connected. By the end of the night it felt less like a food tour and more like a delicious dinner with new friends. If you’re visiting Hanoi, this tour with Chi is absolutely worth doing.

Fun 3 hours of eating lots delicious local food. Patrick our host was fantastic. Highly recommend the 6PM tour as a dinner option as the night life kicks in.

Loved every bite of food and every minute of this tour. You will try things you haven't heard of (in fact that is their focus) and unique flavors very specific to the chosen vendors.

Mai is an excellent tour guide and she took us to a ton of different places to try a whole range of Vietnamese food. One of the things I appreciated was the variety of foods that we got to try. And even though we tried 9 different things, somehow I was able to fit it all in without feeling too stuffed. Highly recommended!

A perfect way to discover the local way of eating. Our guide Bob entertained us from start to finish with funny stories and his experiences of growing up in the old quarter of Hanoi. Food choices were perfect and we had the opportunity to try things we wouldn’t have necessarily chosen. Highly recommended.

This was an awesome experience! Our tour guide “Bob” was funny and super knowledgeable, he is local through and through so he knew the area like the back of his hand. He took us to spots we never would have known about, and even though my partner and I had been in Vietnam for about two weeks, we tried dishes that were totally new to us - definitely not a predictable food tour. We went to five different spots and were all totally stuffed by the end! Highly recommend for an authentic old quarter food tour :)

We went during Lunar New Year in February. Our tour guide Rik was able to take us to several good spots to eat despite a lot of places being closed

The trip was good. Rik was a local who knew his food very well. I went on the eve of the New Year so we couldn’t go to some restaurants but Rik improvised well and showed me a good time.

We had a wonderful tour with our guide Cheung who was very knowledgeable about the foods, Vietnamese culture and history. We ate a tremendous array of excellent street food with great flavours and diverse ingredients. Small tour with us and another couple. Would strongly recommend.

What a tremendous tour. We went explored lots of side Street food venues, places we would ne er have ventured onto ourselves. Everywhere we ate, the food was freshly prepared and every environment was unique. Chung explained where we going and what we would be trying. Once there he would explain how things were made. His happy and pleasant demeanor made the whole evening an incredible experience. We sat and enjoyed beers and happy juice (rice wine) with an explanation of how the wine is made and its strengths! We sat with local people and Chung clearly new so many locals, this made the interactions very friendly. Top marks. Chung is an outstanding tour guide and I would thoroughly recommend him.

Fantastic tour, James took us to some great restaurants that we wouldn’t have otherwise tried. Craft beer was great and train street was a fun experience. 5 stars all round would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our morning with Chung. He guided us through the busy streets from one amazing local food spot to another. He helped cater to the test of both the older and younger members of our group. Every dish we tried was delicious and we certainly wouldn’t have samples as many local foods under our own steam. I would highly recommend this trip to other families.
