⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable countryside ride – authentic, safe, and rich in history! As a solo traveler, I wanted to experience something beyond the bustling center of Hanoi and get a true feel for local, rural life—and this tour delivered above and beyond! We started off with a wonderful, traditional Vietnamese lunch before heading out into the quiet countryside along the Red River via the historic Long Bien Bridge. Walking through the 800-year-old village, meeting a local bonsai-growing family over tea, and seeing the traditional broomstick craft in Hoi Phu village made the experience feel deeply personal and authentic. Learning about Vietnam’s ancient history back to 300 B.C.E. at the Cổ Loa Citadel added incredible context to everything we were seeing. A massive thank you to our guide, Summi, who truly made the trip special! She speaks excellent, clear English, which made communicating effortless, and her genuine curiosity and eager interest in local traditions brought every single stop to life. On top of her engaging personality, Summi is an exceptionally smooth, confident, and safe driver. Traveling solo, I felt completely secure riding with her from start to finish—an assurance made even greater by having a second motorcycle riding backup and support for extra safety on the road. The scooters were wonderfully comfortable with passenger backrests, making the ride through the scenic village lanes totally relaxed and smooth. We finished the tour with a proper Vietnamese coconut coffee, which was the absolute perfect ending to an incredible afternoon. If you're looking to step outside the city and discover the heart of rural Hanoi with a fantastic guide, I couldn't recommend Summi and this tour enough!

Itinerary
Our mainly female drivers and tour guide of Motorbike City Tours will meet you at your hotel lobby for a safety briefing and detailed itinerary of your journey. We use a fleet of brand new Honda Lead scooters equipped with PASSENGER BACKRESTS for comfort, you feel like you are in a lounge chair, not hanging on tightly as some bikes you may do.
The first stage of our Hanoi Motorbike Tours, we ride out of Hanoi across the historic Long Bien bridge and along the bank of the Red River. Cooling breezes off the water make for a pleasant drive along the roads as you get to view the scenic countryside as the noise from the city fades into the background. Our first stop is an 800 year old village that embodies a beautiful historic example of one of the traditional villages that used to populate the Vietnamese countryside. Housed there you will get to see the old village gate, pagoda, temple, and communal house. As we explore the village, you’ll see the thriving life within, and see how to locals work, play, and pray. You’ll be introduced to a local family and join them for some tea and candy with your guide acting as a translator.
The second stage of our Hanoi Motorbike Tours, we cruise through the expansive rice paddies and venture off the beaten path onto the dirt roads leading to Co Loa Citadel where we will teach you more of the rich Vietnamese history in the surrounding areas and how Vietnam defended itself from invaders dating back to 300 B.C.E.
On third stage of our Hanoi Motorbike Tours, you’ll be taken through the zig-zagging village alleys as we arrive at the heart of the local farmland. Agriculture is still a thriving part of the Vietnamese economy, and nothing exemplifies this more clearly than exploring the thriving farmland near the villages. We will sit by a peaceful countryside pond, enjoy a refreshing drink, and take in the tranquil scenery around us
The last stage of our Hanoi Motorbike Tours concludes with a visit to an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Here you’ll get to enjoy fresh Vietnamese cuisine with diverse traditional dishes and local specialties and get your caffeine fix with unique Vietnamese egg coffee or enjoy yummy Mango Pudding and Caramel dessert in place popular with locals. We will drop you off back to your hotel, or a place within reasonable distance within Hanoi.

An unforgettable way to experience the real Hanoi This was genuinely one of the highlights of our time in Hanoi. Travelling by motorbike through the outskirts of the city and into the beautiful rice fields gave us the opportunity to experience a completely different side of Hanoi — peaceful, authentic and incredibly special. We loved visiting the traditional broom-making village and learning about a craft that has been passed down through generations. But the absolute highlight was being welcomed into a local gentleman’s home, hearing about his life and family, and seeing his incredible collection of much-loved bonsai. It was such a personal experience and a privilege to be invited into his world. Our guides Summi, Allie and Minh were exceptional. They were warm, knowledgeable, attentive and so much fun to spend the day with. They made us feel completely comfortable on the motorbikes and brought every part of the experience to life with their local knowledge and genuine enthusiasm. This tour felt like so much more than sightseeing — it was a beautiful glimpse into everyday Vietnamese life, culture and traditions that we simply wouldn’t have experienced on our own. An absolutely unforgettable experience and one we will remember long after leaving Vietnam. ❤️🇻🇳
This was the best we had in Hanoi. They were fantastic and offered a real authentic experience. We loved it
It is exciting and nervy being on the back of a motorbike in Hanoi. Our two drivers were wonderful. The information provided at the stops was interesting. And lunch was tasty with good recommendations to ensure we had something different from other tours.
We enjoyed our first motorbike tour, City Insights, that we had to book another one. Jinny and Bong were so patient with my many questions but we were even more impressed by their kindness. We felt lucky to be on their tour!
Summi, Lucy and Thuong were superb guides for of tour. We felt incredibly safe, they were really friendly and answered all our questions. Summi's English is excellent, she shares a wealth of knowledge about Vietnamese culture. Highly recommended tour, we would happily do it again!
We did this tour on 10 Nov 2025. Unfortunately on the day of our tour, it was raining heavily and it was a Sunday too. We were all soaked although we have free raincoats on. Its definitely a ‘Don’t do it’ as its too dangerous riding a scooter in heavy rain and nothing much to view or take photos. Things to do and see is all outdoors in the village but due to weather conditions we wade through flooded path and it was not what we saw in photos / read in Tripadvisor reviews. The fruit orchard was missing too. The 3 stars given were for the riders who sent us back safely to Hanoi Opera House.
Wonderful experience from start to finishing, the guide Hoa and out wonderful drivers sunny and Lucy looked after us , they spoke excellent English and where very attentive and nothing was to much trouble, we are both 65yrs plus and the bikes where really comfortable, we where shown so much and finished with a wonderful lunch
Great value for money. Our drivers were very friendly and professional. We started with lunch and then went to visit women who make brooms, had tea and then visited a temple before meeting a vet and his bonsai. We also travelled around rice fields and over the oldest bridge in Hanoi. Driver gave us a lot of information as we travelled around the countryside. Definitely worth it.
Looking back at the time I spent in Vietnam this tour now stands out as a definitive highlight of that trip. Above all other touristic – though surely beautiful – places, above the cities, national parks and beaches. Just an amazing quick but wholesome dip into a Vietnam vibe with its morning haze over the rice fields, outskirt places and – over all – genuinely nice and beautiful people. Can wholeheartedly recommend, amazing experience and the best tour guides we've been lucky to meet: Summi, Happy, Minh.
We had an amazing morning with Happy, Lan Anh and Sang — definitely one of the highlights of our Vietnam trip! Exploring by motorbike was such a fun adventure and a great way to see the real Hanoi — from quiet alleyways and lush rice fields to friendly local communities. Highly recommend adding this experience to your Vietnam itinerary!
Summi was very knowledgeable and helpful. Had the best time. Felt safe from the minute we hope on the bikes. Our drivers were Bong and Tom. I had Bong she was always checking on me to make sure I felt safe. Not once did I feel unsafe. Very experienced riders. The tour was amazing Summi explained everything. Would recommend this to anyone. Best thing to do in Hanoi. Thanks Ladies.
This was the best tour experience I had in Vietnam! We went on the countryside tour and got to see the personable side of Vietnam. Sunni, Happy and Minh each gave us a personalized experience and were safe drivers as well! Could not recommend more and am excited to do it again the next time I am in Vietnam.
I had a food tour and had a great time with the food, seeing the city, and had a great guide. It was great to see the city on a motorbike and have a very talented driver who made it look easy. Went to a few spots I had already picked out and a few off the beaten path.
Such a great way to see Countryside around Hanoi. The girls were awesome riders and showed us around with style and fun. Must do if time available in Hanoi and want a change out of the city.
The views were amazing and my driver Maipii was very good. I felt very safe on the back of the motorbike. We got to see a ceremony at a temple and the rice paddies were also very cool to see. My guide was very knowledgeable and we ended the trip at a very lovely sticky rice restaurant and she even gave me a list of different places in hanoi to visit. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Happy and Mai were great tour guides! It was so nice to get out of the city and see the rice fields and broom making. Highly recommended!
We loved our tour with Motorbike City tour. Hoa was an attentive guide and our drivers Linh, Ginny, Sunny and Happy were lovely. They took good care of our kids during the tour and we felt safe the entire time. It was a really interesting tour!
Me and my sister were the only ones who booked this tour. It felt like a private tour, I am so happy it wasn't cancelled due to low capacity! Money has so much knowledge and she is great company! I really enjoyed having an authentic experience of understanding the local life style and history. It was more than I expected. I loved meeting the family and I love the idea that all people involved are giving paid work opportunities, including the women at the factory and local family. Thank you to Money for your enthusiasm in sharing the life of Hanoians. It was such a pleasure and enjoyable last day in Hanoi!
The tour was great! Money, my guide, was a super good driver, i didn’t feel scared once. She took me to great places, including a local families house where we drank tea, talked about their family and saw his amazing bonsai trees, they were lovely! I would definitely recommend Money especially if you are solo travelling!
The afternoon was amazing-so much fun!!! Our tour guide Money and the rest of our motorbike drivers, Linh, Giny, Pham Linh, Giang, Thuong and Minh were all excellent!!! Lots of laughing and fun. I was a bit nervous beforehand about riding in Hanoi traffic, but the whole time it felt safe. The lunch was delicious, and different to what we usually would order. Would definitely recommend to all my friends!!! The support bike also takes lots of photos and videos of the group and then sends them to you (no extra charge)- again amazing!!!
We had an incredible experience with Summi leading the tour for our family of four. Each stop was educational and fun. The ride through the city and over the bridges is scintillating for the senses and a great start to an amazing afternoon. I highly recommend it for anyone ready for a little adventure.
A fantastic half day trip - this is a great way to see Hanoi and beyond! Hoa, Sunny and Dieu Anh were all really lovely, as very informative and excellent guides/riders - thankyou :) We felt safe and comfortable, and loved the stops meeting local people and views. The trip ended with a delicious lunch (we're vegetarians). Highly recommend!
Brilliant. The team was kind, considerate and patient with us. We enjoyed the day with them and took them for traditional Vietnamese lunch thereafter. Highly recommend this experience.
Great afternoon in the quiet suburbs-on the back of Motorbikes, driven by Hoa, Lily and the girls. Hoa was so knowledgeable and cool, and great fun. The girls were a dream to have as chauffeurs - we weren’t a bit scared in this crazy city
I had Mai as a one on one Tourguide. She was lovely and we had a lot information about Hanoi and the suburbs. I felt during the traveling with her on the Vespa save and secure. It was so relaxing and I could enjoy the ride a sightseeing. I learned a lot about rice, and the day to day life. Thanks for a chilled trip with you.
Had the most interesting and informative morning in Hanoi. Thanks to Hoa, Happy and Giang we were safely and confidently whisked through the streets of old and transported through time in to the countryside of northern Vietnam. From rice paddies and water buffalo to temples and banzais. Refreshments at a famous coffee shop to a lovely lunch at the infamous “BUN CHA HANG MANH” for a bowl of their delicious BuN CHA. Fresh and one of the best tastes around. Thank you for fun filled experience - highly recommended.
Hoa, Happy and Giang were excellent guides. Fantastic to get out the city and experience some of the countryside. Easily recommend the team and super easy to book and coordinate pick up. Delicious lunch at Bun Cha Hang Manh to finish!
I booked on a whim last second, and I’m so glad I did! Summi was such a lovely guide! She did an awesome job of driving me around safely, telling me about each place, translating, and overall being very charismatic and friendly. It was really neat to see a different and authentic side of Vietnam, interact with some locals, and learn about their ways of life!
Had a really great experience with hoa and happy and money on our country tour on the scooters with my husband , seen the local people bonzi trees and temples and rice fields it was amazing , the company are great and keep in contact with you all the way , it is a must to do the end we went and had food in Hanoi town muncha , must do
The only way to travel around the city. You really get a nice view of the city. Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Our guides were Sammy and Happy who made the day a wonderful experience. The description of the tour doesn't do it justice. They show you around several places in the countryside and share local insights. It's very interesting and you get to see another side of Hanoi away from the touristic centre. Also the motorbike ride is very fun and gives you a taste of the travel culture around hanoi. Food was great as well.
We had a spare day in Hanoi and booked this tour to get out of the city and absolutely loved it. Our two Scooter drivers were excellent (Money and Ling) and looked after us every step of the way. It was amazing to ride through the rice paddies and villages, having tea with a local family with a beautiful bonsai collection. After, we had a delicious lunch at a local spot, specially chosen to make sure we had a veggie option as requested. The perfect half day tour to see a new side of the city, finding some peace and even seeing water buffaloes.
We had a great trip with Summi and Emma, they were really knowledgeable and fun! They gave us a great insight into life in Hanoi outside of the city and interacting with the locals gave us a unique perspective. If you’re looking to escape Hanoi city for a few hours we would highly recommend this trip. Thank you both for a memorable experience.
Spend 4 quality hours with Anne who is my tour guide/girl;gaining several interesting stories🤣 which is fun. First time having tour on motorbike,it is cool experience for me who is scary to ride one. Higly recommend to experience something new in Hanoi.
My lady guide, nicknamed Happy, was really an expert at navigating the heavy traffic. She has a cheery disposition and I had an enjoyable time chatting and riding with her. I had a good time for the tour! Recommend!
A group of 8 rumbustious guys on scooters. Not the easiest of crowds but Summi lead with knowledge and confidence. Tackling the traffic of Hanoi, then telling us about the background of the places, her experience shows! Had a wonderful time and am looking forward to the evening tour with the same group again later!!
Sammy was leading the tour group of 8 of us and it was really engaging and fun even though the weather is very hot and humid. Very worth it and enjoyable overall.
Had the best trip very informative and lots to see Mia and Money very nice and excellent communication Mia had lots to tell us and show us and was very interactive and friendly Excellent value for money and no pressure at any stops - all costs were included - lunch, drinks, entry fees
Had the best time on this tour. We did this on our last day in Hanoi and it really made our trip to Hanoi very memorable. As it was only myself and my husband we felt like we got a personal tour and was treated extremely well on the day. Lots of laughs and very informative guide made it very special. The drivers were excellent and we felt very safe with them. Their English was fantastic too. Best day ever.
This trip / tour was great. We were lucky to be the only two. Summi and Linh are excellent drivers. My husband weight was no problem. They drive very good and safe. All stops were realy nice and Summi could tell us so much about the setting and history and. Old tales. We very much enjoyed the family visit, to hear their story and see the house and bonsai trees.
Tour guide (An) was very informative and great guide. Tour was well paced and a great way to see life both in and out of the city.
The Hanoi Motorbike Countryside Tour Led By Women was Exciting and Informative! The guides were personable and very professional. We tasted local cuisine, visited historical places and viewed life in the countryside. I highly recommend this tour group.
I had a wonderful day. I had a super sweet tourguide. I will 100% recommend this experience to anyone who wants to experience the countryside of Hanoi.
We had an amazing day with a wonderful group, from our main guide Hoa to the young ladies who drove us around. They were punctual, attentive and answered any questions we had.
Good hosts, good driving, good time. Great half day excursion, definitely one of the more memorable activities I’ve done as a tourist in Hanoi!!
We had a fantastic time with Hanoi Motorbike Tours. Our tour guide, Sumi, was wonderful, very knowledgeable and very sweet. All 3 drivers spoke English well and we felt very safe riding with them in the "organized chaos" traffic. We also enjoyed going out to the country side which is just across the river from Hanoi. We would highly recommend the tour, super fun activity for half a day, you'll get to see many different aspects of Hanoi and local life.
Went on a motorbike tour with guides Lily and Dan. We were picked up on time and driven around to explore all the local and rural areas in Hanoi. Out of all the motorbike tours I have done, i have never experienced such depth and authenticity into the local life. We were provided with such detailed and entertaining stories of Vietnamese history and served delicious local foods that are usually quite hidden away from foreigner like myself. It was also so nice to get away from the bustling city and to experience such serenity in nature. Would 10000% recommend this experience to anyone visiting Hanoi.
Hoa, ngan, Dan and Emma were really awesome. We had a great time riding around the countryside and exploring. Along the way we passed rice fields with oxen, visited a bonsai garden and learned some history of the culture. Hoa spoke perfect English and was great in giving the tour. We felt perfectly safe and very comfortable.
