Summi was such a fun and informative guide. We went to the countryside for a morning half day tour. Summi happily stopped at the market so I could buy a sun hat on the way. We learned about broom making and rice growing, went to a great oasis for coffee and visited a local man and his bonsai garden. We visited a temple and learned the correct protocol for entering. The morning was topped off with a visit to a local fish soup restaurant. We waved goodbye to Summi with full hearts and tummies. Highly recommend this experience! Very fair price too.

Itinerary
At either 8:00AM or 13:00, your tour guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel. We'll set off on an adventure to explore the outskirts of Hanoi, where you'll discover the typical local villages of the Northern Vietnamese countryside. First, we'll cross the Red River, where you'll enjoy a panoramic view of the river and its boats floating peacefully beneath. You'll also get a chance to witness the beautiful green vegetable farms on the nearby island. Continuing our journey, we'll travel through the countryside along the Red River's banks. Along the way, you'll be able to take in the breathtaking scenery of Vietnam's countryside, and see the farmers cultivating their lands. Next, we'll visit a local family who specializes in the art of bonsai. Here, you'll learn about the intricate art form and admire some of the stunning plant creations. Our knowledgeable guide will also assist us in translating and chatting with the locals to learn more about their culture and lifestyle.
After visiting the bonsai makers, we will proceed to a nearby wet market where we can sample some of the exotic fruits that Vietnam has to offer. We will then make a stop at Lotus Lake to quench our thirst with refreshing sugarcane juice or other local drinks. Continuing our journey through the countryside, we will pedal along dirt roads and pass by rural villages until we reach the Co Loa Ancient Citadel. This citadel, built in 200 BC, holds a significant place in Vietnamese history as a symbol of the country's ability to establish and defend itself against foreign invaders. Our guide will provide us with fascinating insights into the life and times of Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong, the founder of the citadel. It is truly an incredible experience to step back in time and learn about the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam.
After exploring Co Loa Ancient Citadel, our next stop will be Hoi Phu village, which is renowned for its production of broomsticks - a popular traditional craft in the Red River delta. Here, you'll have the opportunity to observe skilled broom makers as they create functional and exquisite broomsticks out of broom grass. You'll learn about the history and techniques of this craft and see how it has been passed down through generations. We'll then head to a local restaurant for lunch, where you can savor Hanoi's delectable cuisine and try some of the unique and flavorful dishes that Vietnam is known for. Afterward, we'll make a stop at a local cafe famous for its Vietnamese Egg Coffee, a must-try for coffee lovers visiting Hanoi. We hope to share our passion and love for Hanoi with you on this unforgettable Jeep tour of the countryside. Your tour guide will then escort you back to your hotel, leaving you with memories to cherish for a lifetime.
Continue we ride to the countryside along the Red River’s banks to take in the stunning beauty of Vietnam’s countryside and see farmers cultivating their lands. We’ll make a visit to a local family making bonsai to learn about this intricate art form and admire some of the stunning plant creations. This is a wonderful way to learn more about local daily life and tradition, our guide will assist us to chat with them as a translator.

The tour covered a variety of experiences including food, agriculture, basic commerce, temples, historical home life, coffee, traffic jams and other fill-ins on Vietnam’s history & culture. Summi was fun & informative and Kai got us from A to B & onto C etc, with a minimum of fuss. Thoroughly enjoyable 😎
Excellent tour. Got out of the city. Saw some neat stuff and met some wonderful people. Would highly recommend.
It was a mom and daughter trip! We didnt know what to expect with this tour but we wanted to see the country side and get outside of the city. We went to several different stops w lotus farms and saw how they make brooms, saw rice plantations, more local vibe sort of town away from the tourism. We loved getting to see the true authenticity of hanoi. “Happy”our guide was absolutely amazing! She was super knowledgeable w the history and fun facts of vietnam. The jeep was so much fun! It was an old authentic vietnam war jeep . We shared so many laughs and conversations. We also got to see dragon bridge and walk on the bridge! It was truly authentic and sooooo different than any other tour! This is underrated and should be a MUST DO FOR YOUR TRIP! Happy was full of information and very passionate about sharing everything she knows. She really made this experience extra special. The highlight of our trip so far! Thank you happy!!!!!
Summi picked us up direct from our hotel, offered us cold water, commincation awesome again. They took us to broom house, rice paddy, lotus garden, & private house to see stunning bonsai collection, my fave part, we then went to lunch at a Pho restaurant, delicious! We were safely returned to our hotel, thankyou!
Happy, Danna and their team provided a great insight into Vietnamese life and culture. The half day tour was perfect. From the prompt 8am pick to the friendly and not too aggressive drivers ( important in the busy Hanoi traffic ) and the paparazzi they were all brilliant. A 4 hour snap shot into Vietnamese life, a friendly smiling face ready to answer any questions and a delicious lunch to wrap up the day. If you want a half day tour that doesn't take any effort ( each stop is literally at the door ) then I cannot recommend Happy, Danna and the crew more. Great day out.
A fantastic morning full of information and laughter, tour guides are wonderful ladies and drivers. They take photos and videos and an absolutely delicious local food experience. We were a big group and Happy and Danna kept everyone on track. Highly recommend this experience.
Sunni,Minhba and Kai where amazing hostesses. Sunni shared lots of history. Very kind and smart young woman. Loved our tour! ❤️
Excellent half day tour and was one of the highlights of our two weeks in Vietnam. Emma is a great guide with excellent English and lots of local knowledge. They offer the same tour by bicycle and motorbike but we opted for the 'comfort' of the old Russian military jeep.
Awesome jeep tour in the countryside with Emma (guide) and Kim (driver). Emma was really enthusiastic, friendly, and giving us lots of cool information. Awesome guide!!! We did a half-day afternoon tour, starting with a nice lunch. Then we passed by the Long Biên bridge, went into a traditional handmade broom manufacture, rice fields, interesting temple with interesting history, had tea in a lotus and carp fish pond, finishing with a discussion at a veteran's house (also making cool bonsai!). Would recommend the tour 200%, with the old jeep (quite special!) and the great Emma. Thank you!
It was very nice new experience to spend such a great time and feel the village life in Vietnam. Special thanks and my great appreciation to our tour guide Linh, who was very skilled in her job.
Great tour let by Summi and Khang. Fun and safe to drive in a Jeep. Excellent guide that explained the history and daily lige very well.
The Hanoi Countryside Half Day Jeep Tour Led By Women was nothing short of amazing! Exploring the peaceful side of Hanoi in a vintage jeep was such a refreshing and eye-opening experience, and our guide Summi made it absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we set off, Summi was warm, engaging, and so passionate about sharing the beauty and stories of her hometown. Her knowledge and humor made every stop extra special. We visited a broom-making house where we got to see local craftsmanship up close — such a rare and authentic experience. Then we cruised through lush rice fields, with the breeze in our hair and views that looked like postcards come to life. We also stopped by a cozy local coffee shop, tucked away from the usual tourist spots, where we sipped Vietnamese coffee and had meaningful chats about daily life in the countryside. The visit to local homes was especially touching — being welcomed in and seeing how people live, cook, and work gave such a rich, personal insight into Vietnamese culture. Every detail of the tour was thoughtfully planned and full of heart. And the fact that it’s led by strong, inspiring women like Summi made it even more special. If you want to experience the real Hanoi beyond the city streets — book this tour! You’ll leave with full hearts, amazing memories, and a deep love for Vietnam.
Went on the country Hanoi trip with Emma and Khangu. She was so informative and he’s driving skills were awesome. I wish I could give a higher score and would highly recommend this trip over the city one. The meal at the end was sensational. Thanks Emma and Khangu for the day out and the many laughs we had .
Hoa and Bean took us on the most amazing tour of the ceramic village! We learnt so much, experienced making our own pottery bowls, explored the market and enjoyed a delish lunch. This will definitely be a highlight of our trip! We loved meeting the 84 year old man in his home. Thank you!
Our guides were accommodating, full of knowledge, and so happy to help. Chris and Mei both spoke fantastic English and clearly enjoy their jobs, making it even better for customer experience. From pick-up to drop-off, the service was flawless, I couldn't recommend them more. Great driver, brilliant guides, and a fantastic value for money.
Although we enjoyed the places we visited on this tour, we felt the tour guide could have provided more information along the way. At times it was hard to hear her while riding in the jeep. Having just arrived in Vietnam, we were impressed with how the driver managed in the traffic.
Fantastic tour. Very friendly and informative. We visited the country side just out of Hanoi. Visit local busines handmaking brooms, a temple and a family home where we shared green tea, rice wine, and leaned about growing Bonsai trees. Highly recommend this tour.
A fantastic half day out to the countryside surrounding Han Noi. Wonderful guide and some experiences we could never do on our own. Definitely recommend!
Our guide Hoa and Bean were fantastic. It was great to see the countryside of Hanoi outside of the city in an old army jeep. We learnt a lot about the history and the daily lives of the Vietnamese people. Highly recommend.
Great way to discover more about life in the countryside beyond Hanoi and the usual tourist spots. Chris the tour guide spoke excellent English, was very knowledgeable and able to answer every question I could think of and was so helpful. Was very lucky to be the only one booked on the tour that day, and I learned so much about past and present Vietnam and it's people. Including meeting an 82 year old war veteran who was such a gentleman and now cultivates beautiful bonsai.
Chris was an awesome tour guide for our trip to the Hanoi countryside. Super friendly, very informative and ended the trip with an amazing meal. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Maipii was excellent and took us around on two tours the half city tour of Hanoi and the countryside half day, very helpful and knowledgeable, as we had only not long arrived in Hanoi and were out of depth with what we could do to fill in the time, before we started our organised group tour of Vietnam. Our driver was excellent taking us through such busy traffic and showing us the sights. We highly recommend this company very safe and knowledgeable
Lovely visit to the hanoi countryside. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Started off with a very nice lunch. A look at a small handmade broom factory, rice fields, lotus ponds, temple and traditional house. Tried rice wine, lotus tea and traditional tea. Highly recommend this trip and the tour guide MaiPi
Such a great afternoon spent visiting the country side. The jeep is so much fun and comfortable. Our tour guide Mai has an amazing amount of knowledge of Vietnamese history and culture and provided a relaxing and immersing experience. We loved meeting the locals. Could not rate it highly enough.
This was amazing contryside tour. We go around the contryside, rice fields, temple, local house ... and learn a lot after the tour

Hoa and Bean were amazing guides. We had a wonderful time and learned so much. Safe (and fun) driving in a Jeep! We would recommend this to anyone interested in learning about Hanoi.
This tour was so interesting and fun! Our guide Ho was super knowledgeable and careful. He told us about Vietnam’s history, we discovered a lot about the ancient and modern culture which was truly interesting. We visited an artisanal production of brooms where some farmers work part time, after we went to the rice fields, a lotus field, a temple and to a village where we were hosted by a local family at their house, which was built 200 years ago. The old couple offered us tea and beautiful stories about their family and life anecdotes in Vietnam. At the end of the tour we had some coffee together with Ho, it’s been lovely. We would like to thank him a lot for making our experience so special! Francesca & Carolina
Loved this tour! We booked last minute and got great service. Our guide Chris was fun, super knowledgeable, entertaining and went out of his way to cater to our interests. We learnt a lot about Vietnamese history, geography and culture which were our interest areas. And we great fun! Our driver Kim was fantastic too!

We had a fantastic half day tour. Highly recommend when in Hanoi as you get out of the city and experience some local treats. Our guide Hoang was great.
I enjoyed this half day trip to suburban area with rice fields and great family to visit with. All the temples with great stories behind are so beautiful and breathtaking. The family we visited gave great insight to life. It was truly life giving experience. Without long ride around the city and long trip to far away locations which I enjoyed very much before. But this trip was just right before my long flight tomorrow. I am so happy I chose this trip. Thank you for such a nice and compact tour full of sweetness and gems. I enjoyed the story of king very much. Thomas is a great story teller.
Great tour to the suburb areas! Suitable for those looking for a cultural experience in the villages. Quaint villages that's different from the bustle of city life. Our guide (Thomas) was helpful and knowledgeable. Jeep ride was fun too!
Thomas and Bean were great! The tour was very educational. Enjoy the tour. It was first rate. Would definitely suggest this tour.
A great afternoon outside of the city, our guides were really informative and we gained a lot of insight into the history and how those live outside of the city. I'd definitely recommend for a change of pace and to see a different side of Hanoi :)

Our tour with Hoa and Bein was phenomenal. He was very thorough and informative all throughout the trip. We had lots of fun learning about the locals and countryside. We even got to meet the Vietnam veteran whose Bonsai house is 192 years old. Being driven safely in the military Jeep in Hanoi’s traffic was such a great experience to add to our memories. We highly recommend anybody looking into taking this tour to go ahead and book!
