Before the tour, our knowledgeable guide will greet you at the meeting location (or your hotel) and provide you with a brief orientation. The guide will tell you everything you need to know in order to have a fantastic trip, and then we'll set off on our adventure. Three aspects of the trip will be discussed. 1. Backstreet Ride: Get to know Hanoi's lesser-known areas We'll drive through a maze of passageways only locals know about, make introductions, and learn about the behind-the-scenes stories; - Riding through the labyrinth of zigzagging backstreets, narrow alleyways, and markets; - Traveling with all of your senses on high alert: observing, hearing, touching, tasting, smelling; - Experiencing various slides of life behind the scenes, the hidden part of the iceberg, and the unknown parts; - Getting to know people where they live, work, study, and pray; - Personal connections and cultural exchanges are being formed.
2. The French and Old Quarters: Highlights of the city In the late 1800s, the French razed old Vietnamese buildings and replaced them with towering French-style villas, earning Hanoi the nickname "Little Paris”. - Circumnavigating the enchanting French Colonial Quarter and the vibrant Hanoi Old Quarter; - Passing past the Ho Chi Minh Complex, Temple of Literature, Tran Quoc Temple, West Lake, Truc Bach lake, Hoan Kiem lake, Opera House, and train street, which are all must-see attractions in Hanoi.
3. Middle Island: Due to the quantity of water in the Red River, the island was built by a warp, offering shelter for many fishermen. This is a run-down neighborhood with no electricity or running water. We'll show you how life is very different on the other side of the mountain. - Taking a stroll through the bright and serene flower, vegetable, and banana plantations; - Observing various aspects of life and the disparity in harmony between Hanoi's city and countryside living; - This is a forgotten portion of town with no electricity or water service. We'll show you how life is very different down there.

We had the best time with our guide, Louis, and my driver Hoang. We got to see classic sites like the train station market and Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum (photo op, but didn’t go inside). But we also got to see parts of Hanoi most tourists don’t see, like the true backstreets. Highly recommend this experience to see the city while staying cool. I took a private scooter tour with Ryan and it was amazing!! He was so friendly and knowledgeable and took me to every major site in Hanoi in the span of 4 hours. Everything is covered by the tour fee including an egg coffee and lunch- we went to the bun cha place that Anthony Bourdain and Obama went to and it was phenomenal. Would highly recommend doing this tour- great value and use of your time!!

The motorcycle tour this morning we did was very well-designed, our guide Hay did a great job, he also ncourgaed our daughter to sit in the back of the driver although at first she was so nervous. We cruised around the city, passed by many famous attractions, from the crowded to quiet places in just a morning 1000% recommened.
This was a fantastic tour of part of Hanoi we hadn’t seen and life in the city. The highlight for me was the visit with Auntie Tinh. Our guide, Hay was amazing. He gave wonderful descriptions of life in Hanoi. He answered all our questions. I would highly sue this tour and our guide Hay. He is extremely knowledgeable, very easy to talk with and very honest.

This was an amazing tour! I loved every minute of it! Riding through the streets of Hanoi on the back of a motorbike was thrilling and a fabulous way to get a feel for the city. We went to many places I could never have seen on my own. I felt safe with a local guide taking me expertly through the traffic, and giving insights into the life of everyday Vietnamese, and the country it has become. Oh, and the food was excellent. I thoroughly recommend this tour!
This was a magnificent experience, full of adventure, action, interactions, tastes, and a surprises for exceeding what was promised for a Russian Jeep ride. The train scene near the end of our trip was exceeded only by the lovely outdoor meal afterwards. A must do!

A combination of both fun and informative. We had six motorbikes and experiencing Hanoi traffic from the back of one was exhilarating. We also transited some of the narrow back alleys, which would be inaccessible any other way except walking. So we experienced the way many of the locals get around the city. Our trip leader, Hay, spoke excellent English and had a huge knowledge of the city and Vietnamese culture. He took us to sample street food and we also met an 87 year old great grandmother in her tiny Soviet-style apartment. The trip ended with a delicious meal of the local cuisine. I highly recommend this adventure!

What a blast! You’ve got to experience the motorbike tour to experience real Hanoi. Hay was a great trip leader and guide. Spoke great English. He studied and has a degree from NYU. He led a group of 6 bikers through and to South Hanoi. Went through alleys and to the market for a food tasting experience, train street, and restaurant. We also met and chatted with an independent 87 y.o. lady to learn her story. What a bonus. Highly recommend!! Worth the money.
Fantastic motorbike tour led by Hay. The tour included egg coffee made by the original family creators, thrilling ride through old town and alley ways, coconut milk or beer by the train market and a delightful, unforgettable visit with an 85 year old woman living independently in her small one room apartment with shared kitchen and bath.
