Hanoi Egg Coffee & Coconut Coffee Making Class With Free Banh Mi

I really enjoyed this coffee class. Hazel looked after us throughout the session and was truly great at what she does. She explained everything clearly and made it very enjoyable. A must-do activity if you are in Hanoi!

We attended a 1-2 hour workshop in the Old Quarter in Hanoi and learnt about Vietnamese coffee and specifically how to make the delicious egg coffee, coconut coffee and salted coffee! It was excellent and Hazel (our facilitator) was fabulous - very informative, hospitable, and clear. Thank you for a wonderful workshop!

We absolutely loved this coffee-making class. It was just the two of us, which made the experience very personal and hands-on. Hazel was very friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. She started by explaining the different types of coffee beans and brewing methods, and then guided us through making traditional Vietnamese coffee, coconut coffee, salted coffee, and egg coffee. We got to prepare and taste every coffee. A wonderful experience in Hanoi that I would highly recommend

Phuong knew everything there was to know about coffee and more. It was a great class and amazing activity to do with your partner. The egg coffee is also made the original way with honey and not condensed milk. Very good you have to try this.

I had a wonderful time attending the coffee class! The instructor Phương was very knowledgeable and passionate about coffee, taking time to explain each step — from bean selection and roasting to brewing techniques. The class was hands-on, fun, and easy to follow, even for beginners. I especially enjoyed learning how small details can make a big difference in flavor. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and Phuong made sure I felt comfortable and engaged. I left the class not only with new skills but also a deeper appreciation for good coffee. Highly recommend this class to anyone who loves coffee or wants to learn more about the art of making it!

Lovely instructor, she had a lot of knowledge and her English was quite good. The class was a lot smaller than we’d thought, it ended up just being my friend and I, but that gave us a lot of opportunity to ask questions and so on. Only note was that we had been under the impression that the class would include a bahn mi to eat to balance out all the coffee. We did get food but it was just a toast with Nutella and banana, which was alright just not exactly what we had expected. Can definitely recommend the workshop though, as a nice little insight into Vietnamese coffee culture.

The class with Bella was fantastic. It was one on one and I learnt much about coffee before I learnt how to make the egg and coconut coffee. My expectations were met and surpassed. Bella was a great host and teacher. She made the class really enjoyable. I’m looking forward when I return to Australia and make the coffee for my family.

Had a great time making coconut and egg coffee. Trang very nice and informative. The Bánh mì was very nice. We were taken by moped to a nice air conditioned shop somewhere else. Not a problem. But was unaware when booking.

Vy was awesome! Really great explanations of different coffee strains and their history in Vietnam. Answered all of our questions really well and told us lots of interesting things about what we were making. The timing of everything was very smooth. We picked the egg coffee + coconut coffee session and it was wonderful. Making them was very straightforward and delicious, and she also showed us some decorating tips. The breakfast banh mi was also really tasty! Perfect way to start your day. Thank you, Vy!!

This workshop was conducted within the premise of their cafe, and after making payment upon arrival I was ushered upstairs where everything was conveniently set up. My instructor Bella was very welcoming and easy to chat with, and she is well-equipped with coffee knowledge to answer my queries. As I prefer to have a morning coffee, I decided to book the 9am session, which took about an hour. You get to have hands-on experience making both coffees with assistance from Bella and her partner. I got to have both the drinks we made, the hot egg coffee which was creamy and ice blended coconut coffee which was very refreshing. At the end of the session, I was given a peanut butter and banana toast to have with my coffees, just to help combat all the caffeine, which was so thoughtful! I would highly recommend this workshop for all coffee drinkers, even solo travellers who want to learn one thing on their trip without taking up too much time. Thank you!

It was really good experience with instructor V. She shared alot of knowledge regarding coffee and also assimilation of coffee culture in Hanoi. I enjoyed the one hour class. Cafe has nice ambiance too with lots of books.

It was a great experience. You gain a lot of knowledge about coffee in general but also coffee history in Vietnam. You are an active participant and the instructor, Ruby, was very kind and spoke well English! Besides coffee Ruby also taught us about Vietnamese culture and gave us recommendations. Definitely recommended! You are also served a tasty banh mi during the course, but remember to eat something before, as the coffee is quite strong 😄

A great way to learn the famous Vietnamese coffee recipes! Ruby is very friendly and very clear in her explanations! She took the time to explain the history of Vietnamese coffee at the beginning of the class and answered all my questions very kindly. I had a great time and the coffees were all delicious!

Siri was an excellent teacher - we had so much fun during the egg and coconut coffee making class! We learned about the coffee drinks, how they’re made, and the significance of Vietnam’s coffee exports. Siri was also very conversational and told us about the area too! I definitely recommend taking a class here. They have a cooking class and a class specifically for coffee. We learned to make coconut coffee and learned some information and history about it. You also get the recipe!

Siri was really nice and spoke perfect English! The class was very educational, both about coffee and cultural things that came up in conversation, really interesting overall. Plus, the egg coffee was delicious. I can't wait to try making it at home!

I was delighted to have such an interactive instructor, Siri, to teach me the delicacies of the exotic coffee-making traditions here in Hanoi. Not only was she able to teach the coffee syllabus, but also some of the complexities of the language during spare moments. And both coffees as well as the hot sandwich (bánh mì kep) were delicious. Spend an hour with Siri, learn something and rest your legs at the same time!

I was looking for a workshop on preparing Vietnamese coffees and I came across this shop. Hazel was excellent at telling me interesting facts about the various types of coffee, she followed me step by step in the preparation of an egg coffee and a coconut coffee while speaking excellent English. Highly recommended experience if you are looking for a not-too-demanding activity where you can spend an hour of free time.

It was a very precious experience in Hanoi. It was nice to be able to make Vietnamese food, and it was great because Hailey always taught me with a smile.
