Hanoi Customized Street Food Walk With Train Street Experience

This food tour including Train St was a great start to our stay in Hanoi. The food in the Old Quarter was excellent, exceeding expectations with its variety & quality. Our pickup was a little delayed, however we can't give enough praise to Chung, the food tour operator for making sure we got there after our taxi dropped us off at the wrong end of a closed street. And we couldn't have wished for a better tour guide than Minh who not only was great company but very knowledgeable about Hanoi and the Old Quarter. He obviously knew the best places to take us for the tastiest street food. Despite our hesitancy on appearances of some premises, we enjoyed the food immensely with no ill effects.

The guide David, was excellent, the best tour guide we have had on our trip Asia. David informed us of the history when he took us to the prison without prejudice. He took us for street food which was very good. He took us to the temple and church and was able to inform us of all the history behind each building. He was able to answer any question we ask. Every time he called the driver to pick us up, he arrived no more than 5 mins later, excellent! We felt very safe!

We arranged this trip to help us see the key sites in hanoi while getting a feel for the city. Our host James was lovely, very knowledgeable and looked after us well. The tour was just the right pace, we saw plenty without feeling rushed, and got a sense of where we might want to go back for a longer visit. James made sure we were at the Mausoleum at the right time to be able to see Ho Chi Minh, and got us to train street for lunch and of course, the train. Our driver was great, always just on hand when needed. James also gave us great suggestions before and after the tour on local restaurants and was our photographer in chief! Definitely recommend.

Our tour guide Bobby was very knowledgeable, friendly, energetic and a great English speaking guide. This was our first day in Hanoi and it was a great way to start our trip, tasting some of the local foods in the Old Quarter. Bobby asked us what foods we wanted to try and he delivered and accommodated our requests. It wasn’t a normal scripted food tour that I’ve encountered on other tours. Everything we ate was great and delicious . Too bad we were so full we didn’t have room for some of the other foods he was going to feed us. He even took us to see the Train street even though it wasn’t part of the tour and provided other food recommendations to try. I definitely recommend taking this tour and Bobby as your guide.

Bobby was an amazing tour guide, it felt like we were just enjoying some local bites with a friend. He was so helpful in explaining what each dish was and how it was culturally significant to Vietnam and the proper pronunciation. 10/10 would recommend.

Fabulous Food Tour with an amazing young guide named Bobby. He met us at the hotel lobby at 6pm- we were a large group of 10 friends . We set off at a great pace and within 5 mins of brisk walking arrived at 1st destination. Mini stools we learnt are so you eat and leave! Delicious beef jerky and perilla and cassava and shrimp dumplings. Bobby was very informative on each dish and answered any questions. 4 more courses before draft beer and then the final stop on Train Street !

Bobby was awesome guide, friendly and knowledgeable accommodating all our requirements. Highly recommend him and suggest asking from him.

We were a bunch of 5 people coming from different backgrounds that would include US, India and UK. Our tour guide Rik ( Long ) was very accommodative and knew that his proactive handling of situations and anticipating things would light up the evening and make us comfortable and open up to each other. He scheduled activities discreetly and conducted them step by step to give us an immersive local experience as we walked around and sat down at our food destinations complete with local food and neighborhood knowledge and newly assumed experience. It culminated for us with a unique experience at train street. Rik has a natural ability to chat up with people and make them comfortable.

Wonderful tour. Long was very knowledgeable and helpful. We ate some wonderful food that we wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Absolutely fantastic tour, highly recommend.

I really enjoy this food tour, Rik the tour guide is very knowledgeable of the area and took us to some great local restaurants that serve delicious Vietnamese foods that was unknown to me, I had fun with the other guests too, I Wii definitely book other tour with them whenever I come back to Hanoi, 5/5 keep up the good work👏

Great series of tastes of Hanoi with our guide Long. Started with egg coffee, (even met the owners pets) then a series of visits to small family owned shops and restaurants for a really diverse and delicious range of tastes that we’d never find ourselves. We had our 11 year old and 13 year old with us and they ate everything too. Liked that the food was so delicious and not overwhelming in size so we got too full to enjoy the experience. Highly recommend!

Long (Rik) was awesome, very knowledgeable about the old quarter and the local eats. The food we had was fresh, simple and delicious 😋 we sampled around 6-8 different dishes in different places and finished with a nice glass of cold beer and a sweet treat. We were stuffed and super satisfied with everything we ate and Long's friendly and funny approach. Thanks for an awesome day Long 🙌

Really nice tour in the old town of Hanoi. Streetfood in Vietnam is an absolute must in our opinion, and this is a great tour.

Had a great experience trying the street foods of Hanoi with Mr. Long. Mr Long did an excellent job of selecting different and unique food locations specializing in local favorites from coffee, starters, main dish, desserts and even local brewed beer. The beginning of the tour started off with a coffee or drink watching the train pass by on Train Street. Mr Long was able to pass along histories and knowledge of the food and Hanoi. Great Tour.

Long was a great guide! We went to so many fantastic stops - highlights were the donuts and chicken noodles. Long was very knowledgable.

Great experience. Interesting foods and history behind different places. Could try durian and a variety of north and south Vietnamese specialties. Our tour guide was long.

The guide was wonderful, and the food was even better. He was very knowledgeable about not only food, but the history of the area as well. Very easy talk and get along with.

The street food tour is highly recommended. Bobby, our tour guide, took us to some inconspicuous places so we could test a variety of different menus. Explain that and show how what is eaten helpfully. Bobby was able to bring us closer to culture with his stories. Bobby was happy to respond to wishes and questions. Very nice tour.
