Our guide Ken was wonderful- he spoke excellent English, and made the tour fun despite the rain! This tour was totally worth while, we could never have found our way to all these places in 3 hours. Honestly you need the guide just to cross the street in Hanoi! Negotiating the streets as a pedestrian is not for the faint of heart. But the sights are worth seeing and we really enjoyed the Salt Coffee on Train Street. Great walking tour. The best way to see the Old Quarter. Also our guide met us at our hotel, that alone was worth it, not to struggle to find a meeting point. Everyone is so nice here! Really enjoyed, 10 out of 10!

Itinerary
We will explore the highlights and hidden gems of Hanoi’s Old Quarter on this private guided walking tour. Highlights: Vísit the historic Long Bien Bridge and the bustling Dong Xuan Market. See the famous "Train Street," St. Joseph's Cathedral, and much more. Along the way, learn about Hanoi’s history, culture, and food from your local guide.
We will visit and take photo of St. Joseph's Cathedral is a Catholic church on Nhà Chung Street, in the Hoàn Kiếm District of Hanoi, Vietnam. It is a late 19th-century Gothic Revival church that serves as the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hanoi. The cathedral is named after Joseph, the patron saint of Vietnam.
Ta Hien street is also called the Beer street, This street is full of bars and restaurants and hundreds of people sit outside on the street in tiny plastic chairs and tables
Like Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City or Dam Market in Da Nang, Dong Xuan Market has been a symbol and a pride of Hanoi people for many years. Nestled in downtown Hanoi, this is the largest wholesale market in the North with an area of 6,500 m2, as well as the gathering place of a multitude of business items to serve the life of the capital's netizens and supply sources for traders.
Long Biên Bridge is a historic cantilever bridge across the Red River that connects two districts, Hoan Kiem and Long Bien of the city of Hanoi, Vietnam.
Visiting Hanoi Train Street in Hanoi is one of the Best Things To Do to learn and explore Hanoi local life Rather than being a normal road with car or motorbike traffic, it has actual real railway lines running through it. Homes and businesses literally open out onto the railway lines. For the most part, the locals who live and move through there go about their day as with any other Hanoi street. Motorbikes zoom up and down the side of the railway lines. Local ladies cook delicious smelling foods, crouched over their seasoned cooking pots and surrounded by bundles of herbs and other fresh ingredients. Kids run around, crossing the tracks to each other’s houses. Animals snooze peacefully in the daytime sun.
After train street, our guide will show you back to hotel/stays in Old Quarter. Say good bye to our guide.

Minh was a fantastic tour guide who took us to all the best places. He gave us great insights into local culture and tips on where to go next. The pace was great and we saw a lot. Train Street was great and Minh ahowed is where to have lunch and wait to ho back on our own to see the train actually go past. I would highly recommend- excellent value for money.
It was a very worthwhile experience and fantastic value for money. Our guide Minh knew just were to go and explained the history and culture of Hanoi. He was very giving of his time and knowledge, and we learnt a lot. This really enhanced our Hanoi trip. Thanks Minh!
We were collected by Ken at our hotel and had a private tour. Ken was a fantastic guide with an extensive knowledge of Hanoi and spoke fantastic English. In addition Ken gave further information about Vietnam's history and answered all our questions. Ken made our tour special and I would be happy to recommend him.
Frank was a great guide, walked the streets of Hanoi and learnt about the history. Highly recommend. Must try the egg coffee!
This was a fabulous tour. Frank is a delightful guide, educational, funny and kind. He answered the millions of questions I had with no complaint. I was ready to cut the tour short because it started pouring rain, but he did not miss a beat and never complained. When I finally told him I had enough rain, he made sure to get me safely back to my hotel. I saw someone complained about not having a train go by on train street, but that was not advertised and Frank told me from the outset that we may not actually see the train, but he immediately checked the schedule and adjusted the tour so we could. All I had to do was ask.
Great way to see the old quarter (“train street”, with train, was a real highlight). My guide, Frank, did a terrific job. Thanks so much Frank!
It was a great tour and a combination of walking with cab rides for the long distances. That was an experience as well.
Enjoyed walking around to see the many aights of Hanoi. The guide however was simply there to take us places. Did not share much information
Josh was very knowledgeable and took us extra places where we made purchases we really wanted to the train street was quite a festival atmosphere and we really enjoyed it.
This was the perfect tour for us to get acquainted with the Old Quarter, the street markets and food stalls. Our guide Anna Nguyen was exceptional showing us the sites and her experience as a Street Food Tour Guide in the Old Quarter just added to our enjoyment. Anna made sure we had front row seats at 12:15 pm and beverages in hand as the train passed on Train Street. Walking the Old French Railway Bridge was a wonderful opportunity to observe locals going by in scooters and view the Mekong. In addition to tasting some of the street food we ended the tour with a delicious egg coffee (don't miss the opportunity to try it, either hot or cold).
Henry and Too gave us the best experience - we had beautiful Vietnamese food and learnt so much about this culture! We ate all things Vietnamese, they were very accomodating for a couple that had food intolerances, food was varied and exceptional in flavour and presentation! Thanks for a wonderful day! We finished off the experience at the train street watching the train go through!
Our guide Ken was full of fun facts and history. He shows things most people would notice. Everything was on our schedule and pace. Great guide with perfect English language.
Definitely worth doing! Our tour guide was so informative of the history of Hanoi and all the little hidden gems you would not normally see as a tourist 100% would recommend
The places were beautiful and the trip was well planned and amazing.. My tour guide Minh was excellent to understand my need and accordingly he planned the ride.
Great 4 hours learning about the Old Quarter etc. Only disappointment was that we didn’t get to see the train coming through Train Street when we had been informed on booking that we would see it running.
How charming our tour guide Anna was- Long Ben bridge and the egg coffee- and of course the Train Track experience!
I had a wonderful morning with Harry! I saw things that I would never have seen without the knowledge & experience of a local guide. I felt safe & comfortable in Harry’s hands - he answered my many questions & was great company. Also appreciate being picked up & returned to my Hotel. Highly recommend the tour & Harry!
Walked through the old town and saw different streets. The guide showed us our to cross the streets in Hanoi and took us to the important landmarks
Such a knowledgeable tour with such a personable tour guide. Harry took us around and was able to answer all our questions as well as keep the conversation going while showing us all that Hanoi has to offer. Our only regret was not getting a picture with him.
Amazing tour. Our guide was lovely and very insightful, and we got to see parts of the city we may not have otherwise. It was also a great introduction to Hanoi traffic, to walk around with a local, as it can be a bit overwhelming at first!
Such a wonderful tour and the guide was great. Got to experience the local culture and everything in Hanoi. Great experience.
It's great to have a guided tour of some type in Hanoi because there is so much you 'don't see' walking around on your own. It was great to see the different streets such as medicine street, cooking street, lock street etc. Our guide, Anna, was knowledgeable and friendly. Unfortunately our tour was cut short by illness.
Our guide, Ken, had so much local knowledge about Hanoi and Vietnam. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with him and would recommend this tour. Ken was happy to adapt the itinerary to suit our requirements. The highlight was definitely Train Street and the egg coffee.
