Brian and his team were outstanding!! This was more than a bike tour. We travelled in scooters, had a scooter motorcade protecting us when we were on our bikes, had a barge ride at the end. The stops were so well curated. Rice patties, broom making, visit to a traditional home where the original owner shared history of his lived experience and his lifelong passion for bonsai. We had a fabulous lunch and a relaxing coffee stop as well. We learned so much and had so much fun. Definitely a must do if you are in Hanoi.

At either 8:00AM or 13:00, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby and take you to our bicycle store to select suitable bikes. After getting comfortable with your bicycle and hearing a safety briefing, we will begin our ride. Our first stop is the Long Bien Bridge, the oldest bridge in Hanoi, built over 100 years ago during French colonial times. From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Red River, watch boats float underneath, and observe green vegetable farms on the island.
We will begin by cycling along the banks of the Red River, enjoying the stunning natural beauty of Vietnam's countryside and observing farmers cultivating their lands. Our journey will take us to a local family that specializes in the art of bonsai, where we can learn about this intricate craft and admire their stunning plant creations. Next, we will continue our cycling tour to a local wet market and we will then take a break at lotus lake, where we can quench our thirst with refreshing sugarcane juice or other local beverages. We will continue cycling along dirt roads and through rural villages until we reach the Co Loa Ancient Citadel. This historic site was constructed in 200 BC and played an important role in Vietnam's history of establishing and defending the country against foreign invaders, specifically Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong.
Following our cycling tour and visit to the Co Loa Ancient Citadel, we will head to a local restaurant where you can indulge in the delicious cuisine of Hanoi. After satisfying our appetites, we will have the opportunity to try a unique beverage known as Egg Coffee, which will provide a caffeine fix and a taste of local culture.
Following that, we will ride our bikes to a local wet market and taste some tropical fruits. We take a break at lotus lake to fill our thirst with sugarcane juice or some local fresh drinks.Keep cycling through dirt roads and rural villages until we arrived at Co Loa Ancient Citadel which was built in 200 BC to learn about Vietnam’s tradition of establishing and defending the country against foreign invaders of Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong. After that we will visit Hoi Phu village, which is well-known for producing broomsticks, a popular traditional craft in the Red River delta. This was by far the highlight of our trip. Brian was a fantastic guide, he was knowledgeable, friendly and his English is great too! We saw some great places and met some amazing people. We would 100% recommend this tour!
This bike tour was by far the best highlight of our trip. Brian was a fantastic guide , he was knowledgeable and friendly with great English skills. We saw some fantastic sights and met some amazing people. We would 100% recommend!
Brian was our guide and he was fantastic. His partner, Finn, was wonderful as well. We learned more about the history, culture and customs. It’s great to experience it via bicycle.
Brian picked me up at the hotel and gave me a fun scooter ride to their shop. He is a skillful driver and his English is very good. The bike ride was very educational and fun. I got to meet some neat people and see things that I have not expected to see on the ride. I highly recommend this.
Very friendly, knowledgeable respectful guide and helper. Bikes good condition. All safe. We got to see a fascinating side of the city.
Had a good tour session with Bryan. He was very attentive and navigated the routes well. There was standby bike in case anyone gets tired. The bicycle was good but expected if it had at least suspension at the back providing a more comfortable ride on bumpy roads. Overall had a great time looking at bamboo broom making, rice field pastures, visited a local elderly man's house who creates amazing bonsai.
What a great experience! Jinny and Thoung were excellent guides throughout. I got very lucky, I was the only person to book! So I had a private tour, and a very fun day. Thank you!
Excellent tour, we really enjoyed getting into the countryside. Our guides Hoa, An and Thuong were careful and attentive, especially in the parts when we cycled in the traffic in Hanoi and we felt very safe with them. Highlights included the bonsai tree family home, and the lotus flowers, and of course the banh mi at the end! We rode e-bikes and I’m glad we did as we went about 34km and we aren’t usually cyclists so that gave us a little boost. Thank you so much!
Brian was an excellent guide. The traffic in Hanoi is chaotic but Brian guided me through just fine. Once we got out of the city, it was very peaceful biking. This is a great tour if you’re looking for a unique view of the countryside. We stopped at a family broom making business, rice fields, a delightful visit with a local couple and their amazing bonsai garden. This tour was a highlight for me. Highly recommend Brian and his team.
Brilliant time with Sunni, Kai and team. It was fabulous to cycle through the city, suburbs, across the old bridge and into the countryside. Lots to see, plenty of stop, take picture and learn more about the Vietnamese culture and way of life. Great fun and highly recommend this tour!
We loved our bicycle tour with Emma! She was an amazing guide who is very knowledgeable about the area and its history. Emma and her team ensured that we were safe, well hydrated and enjoying our experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to have Emma as your guide it will be a bonus!
Had a fantastic day out in the country side. Both Brian and Tri where very attentive and excellent guides. Felt safe as a solo female on the tour in my own. Can't fault the adventure. Thank you to you both.
Happy was an excellent tour guide who went above and beyond to support us, especially as we were traveling with a young child. The tour took us to places we would not have considered visiting on our own. The bike ride was beautiful, and our favorite part was visiting an elderly couple in one of the oldest homes, where we enjoyed tea and learned about their life in Vietnam. Happy was incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable throughout the experience. Thank you for such a wonderful morning and a delicious lunch.
We did the back street/country bike tour in Hanoi and it was honestly one of the highlights of our trip. From start to finish, we all had an awesome time—such a fun and unique way to see parts of the city on motorbikes and push bikes that you’d never normally experience. Riding through the backstreets and out into the countryside gave us a real feel for local life, far beyond the usual tourist spots. It was well organised, felt safe, and the pace was perfect for everyone in the group. Our guide was fantastic—super friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke really good English, which made everything easy and enjoyable. They made sure we were comfortable the whole way and added plenty of interesting insights along the tour. They all looked after our friend’s father who is 69 really well Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hanoi. Great fun, great people, and a great way to explore!
This was an exciting and interesting trip! Riding the scooter from our hotel to the bike shop was thrilling. Lol. The bicycle trip out of the city was through a lot of traffic but we felt safe with Kai riding the scooter behind us . It's about 20 miles total on the bike so you should be used to riding. Not for beginners. Meeting locals and riding through the rice farms and different villages was really sweet. We had refreshments at one place and then lunch after the ride. Our guide Brian was great. Very personable and informative. A splendid day.
Our guide Brian had 4 helpers on 2 scooters who did a fabulous job supporting us to get out of Hanoi. All the team members are lovely & helpful. We visited places outside the city & you really felt in the countryside. The Lotus & Waterlily gardens were beautiful and we even got an unexpected ride back on a ferry !
Brian was our guide along with his support staff for our Hanoi bike tour. He arranged for his support staff to pick us up by car at our hotel to take us to our lunch spot. We were treated to a delicious meal of Bun Cha. We then met Brian and he drove us to the countryside to pick up our bikes. We rode our bikes with Brian on roads that were not busy. He took us to meet an elderly Vietnamese gentleman who invited us to have tea at his home. We had a nice conversation learning about his life and his home and garden which were filled with bonsai plants. We also visited a group of ladies who made brooms by hand. It was an interesting tour of the countryside and rice fields. Brian was a very attentive host and he spoke English very well. We would recommend this tour to anyone. You don’t have to be an experienced rider. These guys were very helpful.
Interesting cultural experience outside the city. It was a hot day and our guide and helpers really took care of us. The bike ride is long, but at a good pace on mostly flat ground.
A great 1/2 day out with my guide Brian who commanded the English language better than the average British person. He was articulate and knowledgeable about Hanoi and traffic issues. The mountain bike was sturdy, but could have been presented washed and with a basket pannier on the front. An enjoyable low key day meeting the locals which was a great experience.
This tour was a good mix of experiences throughout the city and provincial areas. The guides ensured we were safe even in the busier of streets. Overall a rich and diverse set of simple Vietnamese culture
This was an amazing tour, and got to see some local places we never would have seen! Brian was a fantastic guide with lots of knowledge, and was friendly / easy to talk to. Loved this tour, highly recommend!
We had the most amazing time on our tour. It was so interesting riding around the countryside and seeing the local people. We had the best tour guides and would 100% do this tour again when we are in Hanoi
Awesome experience! Brian and Kai were great! 10 out 10 I would recommend!
A thoroughly enjoyable morning. Picked up at my hotel and taken on the back of a scooter to the office where I met the group and we got our bikes. We then cycled off out of the city and into the countryside stopping at various points. Guides were friendly and helpful and the staff blocked all the major junctions so we always felt very safe. Nice included pho ga lunch at the end! All in all would definitely recommend this trip!
Was an awesome day out. Guides were very friendly and helpful especially as I wasn't as fit as the others. We were well protected as we rode everywhere on the streets. We went to some great places and learned a lot of info about the lifestyles of the locals. Would definitely recommend this to lots of people. Had a good lunch at the end. Thankyou very much to our guides.
Brian a Finn were amazing; they were knowledgeable, professional and personable. We liked them both very much. It was a very memorable excursion. It was a highlight of our trip and we recommend them highly. and we recommend them
We took this tour on our second day in Hanoi. The whole experience was great. The ride was easy and we were escorted the whole way by people on scooters. It felt like we were in a motorcade! The stops were fun and interesting. Seeing the countryside outside of town was really pretty especially the rice paddies. We finished up with a nice lunch back in town. Thumbs up !!
Fun ride! We enjoyed our guides and felt safe and well taken care of. Brian explained the different aspects of what we were seeing and answered our questions. Recommended!
A lot of time spent actually biking with periodic stops, not terribly strenuous, but take this into consideration as compared with your expectations. The guides were excellent, one on a bike and two or three on scooters to ensure our safety
I mainly wanted to do this for some exercise and to get out of the bustle of the city. My guide Bryan was fantastic and helpful. I ended up being on the bike tour on my own and I really did have a great time
Brian met us at our hotel and took us to have lunch and pick up the bikes. A really interesting well paced tour, to paddy fields and villages, where we talked with some Vietnamese people. We were returned to the hotel on time. Brian was a brilliant tour leader, answering all questions and taking great care of us. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time on this cycle tour - which took us from busy Hanoi into the countryside showing the locals at work in the paddy fields - we visited a broom making facility - then green tea with a local gentleman and magnificent collection of bonsai trees. Brian and Kai were wonderful guides who engaged with us easily, kept us safe and were very informative. This was capped off with delicious bun cha meal and a safe return to our hotel
A very enjoyable and varied experience. We felt like we were getting away from the tourist areas and into the heart of Vietnam. Our host Brian was full of interesting information and made the excursion a fun event.
Brian was a fantastic guide my favourite guide during my time in Hanoi. I was looking for some exercise with a bit of adventure and certainly got both. There’s bicycle tour include things which were totally unexpected and very much appreciated. Things you wouldn’t ever get to do unless you want a tour like this. It was also lovely to have Lee as the guardian angel on moped to ensure my safety
If you’re ready to trade the honking motorbikes for the "whir" of a bicycle chain, Hanoi’s 2026 biking scene is an absolute blast. It’s where "organized chaos" meets "total tranquility" in the span of a single pedal stroke.
Had a great 1/2 day . Started with moped pick up from hotel then cycle into the countryside . Looked after well by Brian (excellent English) and his colleagues on mopeds making sure we were safe. Delicious lunch at the end.
The highlight of our trip thanks to our amazing guide Brian and support cyclist Kai. The cycle was a great way to see Hanoi both city and out into the countryside. Would definitely recommend.
We were initially worried about cycling in and around Hanoi given it’s our first time here and the busy traffic, but our fears were quickly put to rest. Our guide Brian was very confident, friendly and led us from the front, as we were also accompanied by another friendly gentleman on a scooter who acted as an escort (much appreciated and made us feel very secure on the chaotic streets) They made the journey out of the city seem like a breeze, with regular check ins along the way. The countryside part of the tour was terrific, stopping by old villages, farms and gardens. Brian was very knowledgeable and engaging in each of the prepared stops, and even allowed us to meet an older gentleman of a traditional house who had some great stories of past life in Vietnam! After the journey, we were escorted by scooter to a local restaurant back in Hanoi for a delicious lunch. In summary, an awesome experience with two excellent and friendly guides; well worth the price.
You are picked up by a motorbike, this was fun and quite an experience in peak traffic. The bike ride was very easy so no problems for anyone
Summi and her team were amazing! We did a half-day cycling tour around Hanoi and loved every minute of it. The guides were funny, energetic, and made us feel comfortable biking through the chaos. Seeing all parts of Hanoi by bike was such a unique experience, and the traffic alone was wild to navigate. So glad I got to experience the city this way!
This bike ride was a great way to see the city and the countryside. Summi and her team were fantastic and took good care of the riders.
This was such a fun cycling tour, from navigating the bustling streets of Hanoi to riding through the quiet lanes and open fields of the countryside. We stopped for a coconut coffee along the way, which was amazing and came with a lovely view. There were also a few other special stops that made the experience feel extra memorable. Brian was an excellent guide, and having extra guides focused on our safety—something I’ve never had on a cycling tour before—made the whole experience feel smooth and reassuring. I’d absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who loves cycling and exploring.
More than a bike ride you will have an opportunity to meet interesting Hanoi residents. We met workers in a broom factory and watched them assemble brooms made with dried grains from the rice fields, rode by rice fields followed by resting with coffee and coconut juice in a lovely neighborhood water lily garden. But the highlight was that we were invited to share tea in the home of a former Vietnamese soldier and retired teacher, who generously welcomed us into his home and gave us a tour of his beautiful bonsai tree garden. . It was a deeply personal and memorable experience. Our guide Brian was terrific!
If you're looking for a great way to get a feel for Hanoi, this your is your ticket. From start to finish, everything was planned so well. Great lunch, excellent bikes, knowledgeable tour guide, great support staff to keep you grounded through the busy Hanoi streets. Informational stops along the way were great! Stopped for coffee as well and even got a quick trip on the red river. To top it off, we received a cool video of our trip at the end. I wish all bike tours were run this well. Thanks Bryan, Tom and the rest. Job well done!
This tour was full of variety, fun and excellent guiding. We were met at our hotel and transported to our cycles, then made our way out of the city with our guide and support scooters. We visited interesting local places and homes, stopped for refreshments and learned of the history of the area. Brian and his team were knowledgeable, engaging and interesting. Our cycles were comfortable and the 20km distance easily manageable. We had the most amazing time and would highly recommend this activity for anyone with a desire to get out of the city, get in some exercise and have a whole lot of fun along the way.
This was a very impressive tour. Just the logistics alone of cycling in Hanoi would be enough to scare anyone away. However we were escorted by 3 motor scooters who blocked traffic and let us cross highways and roads safely. That was so cool in itself. This tour was incredible! We went across bridges, into the countryside, visited a temple, a bonsai garden, and even took our bikes on a ferry across the red river. I highly reccomend this to any cyclist.
Recommend highly! Brian was a great guide. Informative, reassuring as we navigated the streets of Hanoi and interesting to be with. I loved the afternoon.
Happy was the best guide I’ve had in a while month in Vietnam. The tour was amazing and probably the best one I’ve done in this country and certainly the best one in hanoi
Hanoi is a true bustling city! Bike off to its countryside can be challenging. It gets easier and safer with Hanoi Bicycle Tours team, in particular Brian the guide! He’s not only attentive but also insightful of Hanoi! Highly recommend 👍
