We had a wonderful time on the Celina Cruise. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made our trip very enjoyable. One major disappointment was that the Celina Cruise has no Wi-Fi, and although there is a TV in the room, there are no TV channels, making it essentially unusable. Once we returned to our room, there was no internet access or in-room entertainment, leaving little to do besides going to sleep. Providing Wi-Fi or working TV channels would greatly improve the guest experience. Another disappointment was that several activities, including the visit to Viet Hai Village, kayaking, and the paddle boat tour to the cave, were operated by third-party providers rather than the Celina Cruise staff. The experience felt less personal than we expected. We also did not enjoy the visit to Viet Hai Village. It was very hot and humid, and we felt there wasn't much to see. We believe this stop could be improved or made optional. One thing future guests should know is that you do not board the Celina Cruise directly from the pier. A smaller transfer boat takes passengers from the shore to the cruise and back again. Because of this, it seemed like the actual time spent cruising on the Celina Cruise itself was shorter than we expected. Overall, we had a great experience thanks to the excellent staff and service. With Wi-Fi, working TV channels, more engaging shore excursions, and more time actually cruising on the Celina Cruise, the experience would be even better.

The bay is very picturesque, although noticed quite a bit of rubbish floating around as we were anchored. The day excursion to Viet Hai village was fun and swimming in the cleaner waters was nice. The boat was nice, food mostly ok - was disappointed that we were charged for cups of tea and water with dinner. Can’t fault the crew - they were amazing!
I loved this. The rooms are phenomenal. Pretty big for a boat, and the bath is just stunning. I could never get bored of laying there, gazing out at the scenery. The ship seems very new and everything was spotlessly clean. The pool is fantastic, as are all the common areas. Definitely do the 2 night/3 day cruise. Every person that did the 1 night instantly regretted it. It’s just not long enough. The whole thing was very well organised. It’s worth noting that the boat is not actually moored in Halong Bay, so you have to get a tender boat out to it, which takes nearly an hour each way. The full day excursion on our middle day was also done on a smaller (shared) boat so you don’t actually spend much time on Doria, which is the only real negative, as the small boat has no privacy, balconies, swimming pool etc The staff are brilliant. A special mention to Kim, Ashley and Miley, who go out of their way to ensure you have a good time. But standout for me was the lovely Luna, who looked after us every day in the restaurant. She really is just a delight, and a real asset to your company. The food was pretty good. I loved the taster menu format, with the chicken, sea bass and prawn dishes being the stand outs. The buffet on arrival was also particularly good, as was the lunch on the excursion to Cat Ba. The drinks were pretty expensive, but given the location, I guess that was to be expected. They do a 3-4-2 offer on cocktails before and after dinner, but it’s still not cheap. Also, as a solo traveller, having to buy drinks in multiples of three is annoying - 30% offer would have been better. Good to see them stop serving alcohol and close everything down at 10:30pm. This ensures everyone can get a good nights sleep. I would have loved the option to add another night, just so I could spend a day doing nothing/chilling on the boat. As much as loved all the excursions, one more day, just sitting around the pool, would have been awesome. It definitely gets a massive thumbs up from me. I’ve never done a Halong Bay cruise before, so I have nothing to compare it too, but loved every minute of it.
After no shortage of research we booked on Doria cruise. We ended up using our Hanoi hotel to book, becoming bewildered by the different websites and WhatsApp conversations that we got involved in. It is the same company that owns Doria, Doris, Dora and Elina. They all looked similar - with the exception of Elina that from the outside looked a bit older. Doria is an old boat, but newly kitted out - only 3 months ago - and the fixtures and fittings are of very high standard. The staff are similarly excellent, with the main host Kim, very friendly - and excellent with our two kids (aged 6 and 8). She really added to the trip. The food was very good, and whilst a 7 course dinner is a bit unnecessary, it is served quickly. We enjoyed the pre dinner drinks (even if buy 2 get 1 free is a bit of an odd deal), the cooking class was nice (spring rolls) and squid fishing entertained the kids and adults alike for a while. The heated swimming pool was great for a dip in - and an alternative to the sea (see below). We choose the 3 day 2 night option - and are glad we did so - the full day in the middle, with some cycling, a visit to a local village, and some kayaking/swimming around the less busy parts of Halong was worthwhile. I suspect the 2 day, 1 night package would have felt very rushed - and it is really only 2 half days at most you end up getting. A trip to Halong Bay isn’t as serene as it could be tho - and there are some things to bear in mind. (1) parts of the bay are strewn with floating rubbish - others have said it, but it is striking, and something really needs to be done. It does detract from the scenery. (2) this is such a popular activity that in the Bay’s sleeping area you can easily count 40 other ships. Similarly most of the attractions will have other boats in the vicinity, so our trip at least wasn’t as secluded as we might have hoped. As mentioned the middle “full” day helped offset this. (3) during the 3D2N option you effectively overlap with two lots of guests doing the 2D1N option - albeit this isn’t a problem per se, and they don’t get to do the full day tour. (4) the full day involved a transfer onto a smaller - much less salubrious boat, it has a nice top deck which everyone shares - but the majority of your trips sailing is done on this day boat - so e.g. you aren’t enjoying the views from your balcony. (5) similarly the transfer from the marina to Doria (c.45 minutes) is done by a separate boat - we did see some some other boats that picked you up directly in the marina. (6) as with any boat, it gets pretty noisy early in the morning. All together - we very much enjoyed our trip, and whilst an expensive part of any trip to Vietnam - the size and luxury of the room relative to its cost is fairly unique in our experience. We did see other smaller and well equipped sleeper ships that were doing the full days activities (ie no need to transfer onto a day boat) - which given our time again we would likely favour. As an alternative - but missing the “experience” of staying overnight on the boat - it might be possible to do day trips from a land based hotel.
We are happy with the cruise's cleanliness.Food is very limited. Most of the items were finished just a few minutes after the dinner started. We mentioned the food preference but we couldn't find chicken or eggs in the dinner. The cruise was standing quite far from the boarding area. But Julie was wonderful .. * * * * * for her. She took care of very well.
Julie was very nice to us.We can give 5* to her .she did whatever she can, but in some case there were limited food and it was finishing early. No chicken in dinner.
Really enjoyed everything, especially the service! Would like to mention Ashleys good work! Like the dining experience, deck and environment!
Was great experience with 2 nights in the boat. The full day excursion on our second day is great. A special thanks to Ashley and Happy staff as they made our stay enjoyable. They bothe both us feel at home. The rest of the staff was great as well. I wish that TripAdvisor (Viator) had the correct contact information of the cruise staff as what they had on the message is incorrect. I had helped from my hotel to contact the cruise team about my location for pick up.
Our family of 20 had an amazing time on this cruise. The rooms were of a high standard and you just can’t beat the views from the balcony. Loved the views from the bathroom as well, nice touch! All meals were excellent, drinks took a little while from the top deck bar but other than that we had a great time! Thank you to all the staff for making our time special ♥️ The excursions were well managed and good fun. I loved jumping off from the back of the boat into the South China Sea for a little swim… this is a #forevermemory! Halong bay has stolen our hearts! Take the time and enjoy a longer trip here, you won’t regret it.
We had a wonderful experience on La Regina Legend. We did the 3D/2N which we highly recommend, the extra activities we got to do compared to the 2D/1N were our favourite of the trip - cycling to Viet Hai and kayaking. Room was clean, food was plentiful and good variety, Halong Bay was breathtaking, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Special shoutouts to Duy, Hoa, Duong, and Thomas. The staff did extra celebrations to acknowledge our honeymoon both in our suite and at our first dinner which made us feel very special, thank you!
One of the best cruises in Halong bay.Everything was perfect! The rooms were lovely and a decent size. The staff were incredible always happy to help and brilliant with dietary requirements. The facilities were great on board. The food was excellent.Beautiful boat, attentive service, gluttonous amounts of food, well planned and executed activities and an amazing location. Big thanks to Merlin who took such good care of us!
All Perfect. We had the most amazing time and experience on this cruise. We were lucky enough to have been upgraded to the Queen Regent Suite and all we can say is wow wow wow!!! it was just phenomenal. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and happy. We went kayaking through caves which was magical. It really was just a phenomenal experience. The staff went above and beyond to cater for all our needs. I cannot rate this cruise enough!!!!
Best luxury new cruise in halong bay.Enjoyed the activities provided kayaking, hiking and several others. Delicious meal provided. Excellent service. Our tour guide Tom is a very knowledgeable person. He guided us well. Beautiful sceneries. Everyone should visit Halong Bay at least once in their lifetime. 😁. Highly recommended
The best luxury cruise in halong bay .Everything with Catherine went smoothly. They picked us up on time from our hotel in Hanoi ivery comfortable van. You arrive at the port and take a short 20 minute transfer to the main ship that is docked further out.The boat is one of the nicest we saw. They have one of the only pools we saw and the ONLY cruise with a water slide, which kids and adults loved. The beds were comfortable and each room has a private balcony. The staff was hands down the best part. They really made an effort to get to know the passengers and anticipate our needs. There was a lot of food. you could never go hungry here. There is also a happy hour from 5-6 which serves great cocktails and mock tails.Special thanks to cruise staffs for taking great care of us.Highly recommended best luxury cruise in halong bay .
My trip to Halong Bay with Cruise was a dream come true! The boat really good n my room really2 beutiful view n luxury..and the crew were so friendly and helpful.i had an amazing time exploring the islands with my family especially my mom..we didn't participate in any activities... we chose to stay in the room and walk on the cruise.. thanks to Harry Nguyen for introducing me to cruise.the food really delicious and organized everything perfectly. We had an unforgettable experience thanks to Amanda Cruise!of course I will come back!
This is my first time experiencing a comfortable and enjoyable boat. Thank you to the manager and the service staff, and my tour guide for providing 2 days and 1 night. The double room here is great, the view is stunning, the bed is very comfortable and the yacht has a swimming pool and a fully equipped bar. I will definitely recommend everyone to buy this tour.
We enjoyed the most amazing 2 days 1 night trip ever. We were really overwhelmed by the beauty of the majestic nature. It is relaxing to visit fishing villages, beaches and participate in outdoor activities. The journey went quite smoothly. The quality of service, food and staff are all very good. We will definitely come back
Great expectations .Everything was pretty seamless on this cruise - from car transfer to the port, from port to the boat and the whole experience on the boat was absolutely amazing. The food was wonderful and scenery was stunning. What was the standout were the service by the staff and the staff themselves. From merry ,peter to rose (restaurant manager), all expectations were exceeded. The staff are the best thing about this cruise.Best of our trip in Vietnam.
One of the best night in Halong bay.We loved our 1 night cruise with Amanda cruises lanha The staff were so friendly, helpful, and attentive. Thanks to the cruise manager & the rest of the team for making the trip so special. The room we stayed in was beautiful, the views from our room was wonderful, bed, and stunning. The food was delicious. There is a pool, bar on the deck - so lots of things to do! Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to see Lan ha cat ba island! We will be back for sure 🙂
Fantastic trip, stunning scenery!A brilliant way to see in the summer with perfectly swimming in the sea with fresh ,cool and clean water .the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and very clean. It all looked exactly like the photos! Strongly recommend the one night trip, the day on the day boat was literally perfect.
Excellent trip worth every dollar of it. I enjoyed every moment being onboard. Very much advised to attend. Extremely friendly staff, great food and awesome vibes all the way.
This was a wonderful experience on a lovely and comfortable boat. It was also the perfect size, not too many people or too few, approximately 25. Very happy we chose this tour as we were in a much quieter bay and were often the only boat in sight. This made for a very magical experience. We really enjoyed the boating excursion on the first day. Everything was very well planned and organized. The staff was so sweet and professional. Our main guide, Felix was fabulous and kept things running seamlessly and he fixed any issues. Our cabin was very clean and cozy with a comfortable bed and fabulous hot shower. We found the entire experience to be very restful and restorative following our frenetic week in Hanoi. Just what we needed. One note, since you must purchase your own expensive water on board, buy at the boat dock and then pack it away because if seen they will confiscate from you. We learned this the hard way. All in all a very enjoyable trip.
I've booked 2 days 1 night with La Regina classic cruise and it was fantastic, we had great tour guide named : Lucky was very attentive & knowledgeable during our stay. The cruise meals was great and the room was wonderful with great balcony for breathtaking view. La regina classic Cruise is the best cruise among the majority cruise that i have seen. I would like to sincerely Thanks to Lucky for his hospitality during our stay, definitely will recommend la regina classic Cruise and Lucky to my friends & family !
We did the 2 days 1 night tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was plentiful and of good quality. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. The staff are very accommodating and were more than happy for members of our group to sit out of activities if they wanted.Big Thanks .
We have a really enjoyable experience on La Regina classic Cruise with our tour guide Tony. We recommend La Regina classic to visitors looking for a pleasant and leisurely experience at one of the best destinations Vietnam has to offer.Highly Recommended
Cruise of a lifetime. Amazing service, punctuality and warmth. Everyone has been so helpful. Just booked the trip here and everything was taken care of. Special thanks to Big Boy and Huan for taking great care of the guests. And last but not the least thank you Henry, for arranging everything. He was constantly on phone guiding us. He was truly the 'big boss' of Halong. If you are coming to Halong for the first time, don't look further, just block this one!
Staff were honestly incredible, so nice and accommodating. I love absolutely everything, the room, the pool, the staff, the food, everything was amazing!! Thomas and Tony are such wonderful people, they made our time in Ha Long Bay one that we will never forget! They organised such a beautiful setting so i could propose to my girlfriend!! I really love ghe La Casta regal team!!
Trip was great. Good food, friendly staffs, ... Room was big, nice and clean. Great experience of Ha Long bay , worth money value Would highly recommended
A well organised cruise. Well staffed with good food and fun activities. The kayaking and swimming is fun. The cookery class is nore of a demonstration but you can try a few techniques and get to eat what is made too. Ha Long is a huge area so if you wish to see other parts of the bay such as the fishing villages and caves you may need a longer trip Excellent service amd good value for money
What a trip! A highlight of our travel experiences to date. To be immersed in the beauty of Halong Bay would be more than enough but add to that a beautiful modern and clean cabin with sea views from the bedroom, balcony and bathroom, the most attentive, polite and friendly staff as well as well paced activities and wonderful food and you have a trip you won't forget! Thank you to Lucky, the cruise manager for going above and beyond to make our trip a special one (birthday cake included!) And to all the rest of the staff too! Daniel led a very enjoyable Tai chi lesson in the beautiful morning scenery of the bay! Would highly recommend that you book this tour!
It's was a good cruise for one night... Liked the cayaking experience. Food and service was very nice. Staff is very positive to help people. But they charge for water too. Only two bottle provided in the room/cabin. It's minimum a 2 hour journey from Hanoi old quarter to the port-they should definitely provide more water. They made us halt at pearl store for more that 30mins just before the port which was a waste of time i believe. We experienced a beautiful sunset. Overall a good experience of cruise.
2 days one night may not be enough, should stay for longer. Enjoying the peaceful days and nights. The food is good too.
Amazing trip to HaLong, definitely worth taking 2 days out of your trip for! The staff were so lovely and very accommodating. The food was delicious (and often so much of it we were stuffed!) Would be wary that happy hour on drinks means ‘buy 2 get the 3rd free’ rather than the usual ‘2 for 1’ as this got lost in translation for us! The kayaking and swimming were amazing - only wish we could have done more activities as some of the other boats explored the islands/shores more. The room itself was beautiful, facilitates were amazing and the sunset party with the hot tub was a lovely way to watch the sunset with other guests. (We booked this through our hostel which gave us about £20 cheaper than the price offered here.)
Great Cruise to take on my forthcoming trip. Crews and Staff look good. The cruise comes highly recommend from friends, so definitely will go
2 days full of great activities and Lucky Hoi have us lots of interesting information on the bus journey to Ho Long and during the trip. Very helpful and attentive staff. Really enjoyable.
I wouldn't call the boat we were on 4*,it had seen better days. We enjoyed the trip because of staff and other travellers made it fun. No swimming or cooking class offered. Our balcony was non existent Which was poor.Boat definitely not as advertised. HALONG BAY BEAUTIFUL
Smooth picked up from the hotel to the harbour, we boarded the Viola cruise for a night stay. Set sails in the waters, we were spoilt for choices from delectable food, water activites, laidback sun basking and of course scenic viewings. The pressure of time is lifted and we fully enjoyed and relaxed to the fullest
With a ton of activities to choose from, it is definitely a good way to discover Ha Long Bay in comfort - from fishing and BBQ, to simply chilling with a bottle of Saigon beer whilst enjoying the limestone karst scenery. We were fortunate to have an entertaining guide, and the cruise was surprisingly smooth sailing - literally. Didnt experience sea sickness and could sleep well.
It was literally quite an experience basking in the sea sight and at the same time experiencing great food and good company from the different folks on board too! Definitely unforgettable n u get to make new friends too like I did!
We joined the Viola cruise in Halong, not from Hanoi. Leaving from Bai Tu Long is much quieter and less tour boats. The cabin was very large with a balcony for a small junk boat. We chose this one as only 16 cabins. Food was amazing and plentiful. Staff were very attentive and always happy to chat. Our guide was Tom and he loved telling us about the stories and history of Halong bay. He took us to each trip and ensured everyone was safe and happy. Excursions were excellent. Thi chi was enjoyable in the morning just before breakfast. This is a must for anyone visiting Halong.
The Viola was a great ship to be on. Our tour guide, Tuan, was fantastic. He was super nice, and supper attentive to everyone. He says he slept, but he was always doing so much, I'm not sure he did. The staff of the boat was also great. And, looking around at other boats that we saw, my guess would be that this is the nicest or second-nicest. My only complaints have to do with what any visit to Halong Bay will include. There will be times where you feel like cattle being herded. The food is beautifully-prepared, but caters safely to groups of international guests. There will be times when you can see 15 other boats. But there are also times when you don't see a single other boat, and you just feel surrounded by the limestone islands. And it's incredible, and totally worth it. If this is what you're looking for, I'd recommend paying a little extra and getting the room that has the private balcony. You can really feel like you're alone in the middle of a beautiful work of nature.
We had one of the best guide, Lucky, with good English and made us feel at home. He is so helpful even with my elderly parents and funny. Viola Cruise is awesome, the wooden ancient feel with balcony. We were lucky, boat mates were awesome, weather was so good and clear and we enjoyed a nice sunset from the cruise. The food is yummy. The staff were all helpful, I liked the night fishing activity too! Would definitely recommend this boat overnight tour from Harry Thomas to anyone. It’s indeed one of the wonders of the world to have a visit. Halong Bay is a beauty!
I was sceptical at first, I mean how fun can a boat ride be, plus still need to spend a night on it. But, the experience was awesome!!! The guide Lucky became our good friend with his good English and really helpful personality. And the things we did were all casually fun, it really felt like we had a new family on the boat with the new friends that we made there. Will definitely get my friends to experience this should they ever want to go Halong Bay.
Lucky was an amazing host for the entire journey from picking us up in Old Quarter Hanoi to dropping us off. The whole crew was so friendly and helpful the entire trip. We felt like we had the best boat in this section of Ha Long Bay. Wonderful middle and top decks for the whole group to hang out on. A very nice mix between traditional Vietnamese and western food. The tai chi on the deck was a nice way to start the day. The kayaking was beautiful - definitely don’t miss that experience! I want to go back for a two night stay!
We absolutely loved this trip, there are so many boats and companies to choose from but we knew we wanted a junk boat and a cabin with a balcony, Viola Cruise was exactly what we wanted. We were picked up from our Airbnb and taken via a pearl farm, check in to the boat was smooth and we settled into our cabin. We went kayaking, visited a floating village and pearl farm, made fresh spring rolls, climbed up to a cave and enjoyed the spectacular scenery as we sailed through. We chose to do the trip that went out to Bai Tu Long and we’re very glad we did as it was lovely and quiet.
The staff was nice and went to great lengths to ensure our experience was the best. In addition to living on the mini cruize ship, we were brought to visit the floating village and cave exploring. The was also a food carving demonstration by the head chef and a learn or make spring roll activity. At night, they set up makeshift fishing rods to go squid fishing if anyone was up for it. Food was included, but any drinks were an additional cost. Overall food was delicious and they accommodated for anyone in the group that had dietary restrictions or was vegetarian/vegan. Alcoholic beverages, unfortunately, weren't made to usual standards and tasted as if there wasn't any alcohol in it.
Hoi was an awesome tour guide, informational, energetic, and enthusiastic. The staff was very nice and went to great lengths to ensure our cruise experience was the best.
Very fun night cruise. We visited a floating village, we were also taken to the beach and shown a cave. We really liked this cruise, I recommend it to everyone!
Very nice cruise. A wonderful guide who showed us the bay of Hanog. I really liked it! I advise everyone to this cruise!
This is my first time visiting Vietnam and try the incredible cruise. After the tour guide pick us up at the hostel, then we're going to Halong Bay. We are very enjoying the cruise going around Halong Bay. We do kayaking and going around with the tour guide. On the next day we doing a tai chi in groups, so memorable. After we have breakfast, we continue to have a Vietnam cooking class. The price is pretty expensive for me but it really worth.
