Halong Bay 2 Day 1 Night Tour With Sung Sot Cave From Hanoi

⭐☆☆☆☆ 1/5 (I can not upload the video of the infestation here but if you need proof email me at kretaevertsz101@gmail.com) I hope you do not have to experience what I experienced🙏🏽 I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Sunlight Legend Cruise in Ha Long Bay was by far the worst travel experience I have ever had. The biggest issue was the severe cockroach infestation onboard. During my overnight stay, I found at least five cockroaches inside my cabin alone, and I also saw roaches in various areas around the boat, including on the deck. This was extremely disturbing and unacceptable for an overnight cruise. The situation became so bad that I did not feel comfortable sleeping in my room. Instead, I spent most of the night awake on the top deck because staff informed me that there were “less roaches” there. No guest should ever have to choose between sleeping in an infested cabin or staying awake outside all night. In addition to the cockroaches, I personally saw two rats in the kitchen area. After seeing both roaches throughout the boat and rats in the kitchen, I no longer felt comfortable eating any of the food served onboard due to serious hygiene concerns. What made the experience even more disappointing was how the complaint was handled. I paid $165 for this cruise, yet the company only offered a $20 refund, and this was only after I provided the booking agency with photos and videos documenting the conditions onboard. Even more concerning, a staff member onboard told me that the company was already aware of the infestation issues but continued to bring guests onboard. If this is true, it is completely unacceptable. Ha Long Bay itself is absolutely breathtaking, but unfortunately this cruise completely ruined what should have been an unforgettable experience for all the right reasons. I strongly encourage future travelers to thoroughly research this company, read recent reviews carefully, and seriously consider other cruise options if cleanliness and hygiene are important to you. I sincerely hope Sunlight Legend Cruise takes immediate action to address these sanitation issues, because no guest should have to endure this type of experience.

We booked a 3 day 2 night cruise but when on board we were told we had to move to another boat for second day as boat was being tested! Not relaxed so changed to 1 night. Mr Loi is a complete rude and u0nconcerning man that dosent care for his staff or his customers. Breakfast 2nd day 7am lunch 2nd day 10.30 am put on bus for transfer to Ha now at 11.45 then told had to wait for 2 more people from another company! 13.40 we left after I kept texting the wonderful Mr Loi asking how much longer. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS VERY POOR AND BADLY RUN COMPANY!!!! Also Fingernails in our bathroom and on window seal........AVOID

The tour was exceptional from pickup to drop-off, with thorough enjoyment throughout. The entire staff, including the bus driver, provided outstanding service.

There was a 1 hour shopping stop from Hanoi and then a 30 min shopping stop back from Halong Bay. If you're okay with that then fine, but I don't like to be forced to go shopping when I've paid for a tour. The cabin was sickening, literally. The generator fumes constantly streamed into our window all night because it wouldn't close fully. The generator made a lot of noise which would have made it difficult to sleep, but we ended up needing to turn the air conditioning to help with the fumes and that was even louder. The next day I had a wicked headache from the fumes and lack of sleep.

Pink is an exceptional tour guide. She was so cheerful and kind. Helped us have a memorable cruise experience in Vietnam.

The cruise itself was comfortable, well‑run, and thoughtfully organized. The staff took great care of us throughout the trip, and the traditional meals were delicious. The activities were planned perfectly, offering just the right balance of fun and relaxation without feeling rushed. On top of that, our guide Pink made the entire experience even more memorable with her energy, knowledge, and genuine warmth. To start with, we were picked up from our hotel right on time, and they even messaged us a couple of minutes beforehand to make sure we were ready. After a 3-hour drive (with a short stop along the way), we arrived in Halong Bay where the boat was waiting for us with everything well organized. The boat may not look as impressive as some of the newer and larger cruises around it, but it had all the necessary comforts to enjoy the trip. On the first day we visited two islands, and on the second day another one where we went kayaking. All the meals on board were delicious and very generous. Our guide, Pink, was always attentive and helpful, making sure we had the best possible experience in an unbeatable natural setting. We truly had a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend it!

We had an amazing time from the beginning to end. Our guide (Pink) was great at explaining the throughout process of stops, activities and making sure everyone had an enjoyable time. I would recommend to anyone visiting this location. Totally loved it ❤️

amazing trip, itinerary was great, food was tasty and big portions, really affordable compared to other companies. just one observation, they should have free water. only selling small bottles and really expensive.

Good experience on Sunlight Cruise, but cruise need renovate. Ha Long is a bit overcrowded but enjoyable. Long Dragon was verykind and knowledgeable, explain and take care of the group from start to end. Thanks Long :)

This cruise was part of a tour, so we did not get an option of boats. Is the boat old? Yes. Are the rooms a bit worn out? YES. But we all survived :). Despite the condition of the ship, we all had a great time as a family. It doesn't matter what type of boat you are on; everyone is travelling to the same destination, so expect crowds no matter what time of year you go to Halong Bay. The food was amazing and had a huge variety of dishes to suit everyone. Bring your own water onto the boat. Pinky, the tour guide, was fantastic with great communication and was very informative, sharing her culture and knowledge with us all. The stops around the bays were excellent and enjoyed by the whole family. We were lucky to be with a great bunch of people who also made our 2-day 1-night cruise a memorable time.

Disappointing Experience on sunlight cruise on the ha long bay I recently had the misfortune of experiencing the service on sunlight cruise on the ha long bay , and it was truly disappointing. The staff's response was subpar, and their attitude left much to be desired. The cabin room was in a deplorable state, with an excessive amount of hair and bugs present at night. Furthermore, water was not included with meals, which added to our frustration. What's more, the actual experience did not match the promises made on the website. I urge the administration to take these issues seriously and make necessary improvements. Failure to do so will likely result in losing customers. Our family's experience was a waste of both time and money. I hope that future guests will not have to endure the same issues.

One of the Worst Experiences of My Life We were a group of 11 travelers considering a Halong Bay cruise. I had seen 5-star cruise prices ranging from $120–$190 per person, so when I came across Sunlight Cruises and their glowing reviews, I was intrigued, even though no pricing was listed online. I called directly and was told: “You’re in amazing luck! we have just 5 rooms left. Since you’re booking last minute and not using our transport from Hanoi (we had our own drivers), I can give you a special deal: $80 per person. But you must promise not to tell anyone on board.” It sounded like a great deal, an upgraded room with a balcony at a fraction of the price. I was proud of the negotiation. I gave my credit card to hold the reservation immediately. When we arrived, we realized that the beautiful photos we had seen online were of a day cruise, not the overnight cruise we had booked and instead of seeing dozens of people, we say 5 or 6 people, still, we were hopeful. That optimism vanished the moment we boarded. The boat was a filthy, rotting, bug-infested, sewer smelling pile of wood. The air conditioning only worked inside the cabins; the rest of the boat was sweltering, over 100°F (38–39°C) with 90% humidity. Worse, the minimal AC in the cabins was turned off in the afternoon, so we returned to a boat that had baked in the sun, easily over 120°F (45–50°C) inside. When we opened our cabin doors, cockroaches poured out. Across our group, rooms had 4, 5, 7, 7, and 8 cockroaches that we could see. The so-called “cooking class” was a joke: a quick demo of how to roll an egg roll using raw strips of pork and dry rice paper. That’s it. You roll, you tuck, and apparently, you’ve just graduated from Vietnamese culinary school. And as for the “balcony upgrade” I was so proud of? Let’s just say if you and another person try to stand out there, you’d better be on very good terms — because the space is barely wide enough for two people to stand shoulder to shoulder. Calling it a balcony is generous. It’s more like a wall-hugging shelf with a view… of disappointment. I could go on for pages, but I think the picture is clear. I’ve traveled to over 100 countries and never fallen into a tourist trap—until now. This one made up for lost time. To be fair, the food was decent and plentiful. But once we discovered the extent of the cockroach infestation, none of us could bring ourselves to eat. I personally fasted for over 18 hours. Bottom line: If someone offered me $10,000 to take this cruise again, I would say no without hesitation. It was 24 hours of misery. I can’t speak for their day cruise, but if it’s operated by the same company or owners, my advice is simple: Stay far, far away from anything associated with them..

The beds had bugs. The WiFi didn’t work well. The tourist stops were crowded. The food was good, but the guide was kind of awkward. I overpaid for this trip through the hostel, so it wasn’t a good value.

I had a great time! The tour was timed perfectly, so we missed most of the huge crowds. Everything was great, would recommend!!

The cruise is really worth the price. It includes the room, the food and all the activities. Ms Pink was my tour guide and she is excellent. She is very knowledgeable, polite and makes everything fun for everyone.

The trip was very beautiful, all the staff fantastic Was very well organised from start to finish and we were very lucky with the weather and got a mix of sunshine and misty fog going over the mountain which gave spectacular views And then there was the group of individuals who I met on the trip and they were fantastic and made the trip even better with conversation, joking and lots of fun. One I will remember for the rest of my life. And Pink our tour guide was super informative, easy to approach and very friendly. Everything you want from a guide

Had a wonderful time at Ha Long Bay with my friends. Our team lead Ms. Pink is a superwoman. Right from get go she made sure we had all the necessary information about how the tour shall pan out. Her presence made it extremely easy to enjoy and have a good time at the cruise. Highly recommended.

Fantastic views! Lovely food (and lots of it)! Comfortable beds! Great tour guide - Tee speaks very good English and is a source of lots of information and witty jokes! Transfers from Hanoi worked well. Cabins are fine - get a balcony if available as they are further from the engine.

It was a amazing experience. Pink was a great guide. She was always realy present , reactive and nice with all our groupe .we have a great cruise with a lot of wonderful food and a lot things to do. We are all celiacs and we have no problems with the food. Realy raccomanded.

The boat was charming. Food was excellent and filling, much better than I expected for price of the trip. The group was friendly, a mixture of people from different countries. I was the only American in the group so that made it interesting for me. And most important our guide pink was great. She was super well organized and was a wonderful host. I would recommend this cruise to friends!

Halong Bay is gorgeous! The food served on the cruise is also really good. Our tour guide Pink was very knowledgeable and very helpful. She knew that my birthday was the day before and even arranged for a cake to be cut. Super sweet! Overall, really enjoyed my overnight stay.

I recently went on a 2-day, 1-night trip to Halong Bay from Hanoi, and it was a fantastic experience! The entire trip was well-organized, and our tour guide, Pink, did an amazing job. She picked me up from my hotel right on time and was very communicative throughout the entire trip. Pink provided helpful tips and always made sure we were comfortable and informed. Her warm personality and knowledge of the area really enhanced the experience. I highly recommend this tour, and if you're lucky enough to have Pink as your guide, you're in for a treat!

It was one confortable trip. Around two days ago before the tour,I booked and registered my phone number of Japan. Then I could not use the phone number in Vietnam,but the staff could catch up me in the Saint Joseph Cathedral. He said he searched my name and thought Japanese and made efforts for searching me more than 15 minutes. It was the first time cruising, but I could make friends from other countries. Possibly, some are younger or elder than me. We enjoyed easy hiking, tried floating near the beach, explored the cave, special seafood dinner, last night karaoke with the big support from Ms. Pink who guided us in the tour. Only it's a regret that my english level is not so good, and could not talk with some people frequently. Other things are Good. Vietnam coffee is great in Vietnam.

Our Ha Long Bay cruise was great! Our tour guide was Pink and she was extremely helpful, funny and kind. She definitely made the experience incredible. The Sunset cruise was also wonderful. The rooms were nice and clean, the food was delicious and abundant and overall just a great experience.
