Fantastic 2 day tour of Pu Luong. We thoroughly enjoyed every place we visited on this tour. Hana was an exceptional guide, she was so friendly with a great sense of humour. Highly recommend!
Hana is very informative and helpful which make the experience wonderful. Pu Luong is beautiful place with even more potential in the future. Every person that I encountered with provided top notch customer service. Definitely bang for your buck!
The experience with the 2 day adventure is one that I will be sharing with my family and friends. I am glad I was able to be more in touch with my culture while enjoying wonderful food. My tour guide, Hanna, was truly knowledgeable and entertaining.
It was a great adventure and new discovery of the Vietnam Villages. A special thank to our English guide Mr. Eddie for his accurate explanation and support during our stay. The most important we got Vegan food everywhere during our stay. Thanks to Wendy the coordinator. The transport pick up and drop in was always done with perfection and always on time. I duly recommend this great team. Thanks again to the tour guide Mr. Eddie.
Great and relaxing experience. My friend and I wanted a break from the city and work and booked this tour where everything was taken care of. From transportation from/to Hanoi to lodging, meals and walks in the villages. Eddie our tour guide was communicative and attentive. We enjoyed him as a tour guide.
Excellent experience and relaxing get away! Everything was so smooth from our pick up in Hanoi to return. Pu Luong is a peaceful and beautiful location up in the mountains. We enjoyed both days of the tour with Eddie - he is very knowledgeable and we had a great time exploring villages, visiting local houses, an amazing waterfall and seeing how rice is grown. Day two included a lovely lunch on bamboo boat! Wonderful! Also we also stayed in the fantastic Amigo eco lodge! Thank you so much!
One of the better guided tours I've taken in Vietnam, and will recommend. Eddie also shared a lot of facts on local life with us.
Wendy did a fantastic job coordinating each ride/tour guide. This is a fantastic escape from the hustle of Hanoi for 2 days. Beautiful landscapes, welcoming people, a slower pace - highly recommend! Also a great alternative to Sa Pa or Ha Giang if you don’t have as much time in your trip to see northern, rural Vietnam
I honestly can't recommend this 2-day tour enough. It has been one of the absolute highlights of my trip through Vietnam. From the moment I arrived, I felt so welcome. The hotel was beautiful, the food was delicious, and everything was perfectly organized. Our guide was amazing. He shared so much knowledge about nature, local life, and the culture. One of my favorite moments was smelling different leaves he picked and learning which fruits they came from. We swam at a beautiful waterfall, hiked through the rice fields, planted rice, and visited a local family's home. That was my absolute favorite part. It felt so authentic and gave me a deeper appreciation for the people and their way of life. On the second day it was just me and the guide. We explored the small villages by scooter, taking tiny roads I would never have found on my own. It was such a peaceful and beautiful experience. Thank you for giving me memories I will never forget. If you're thinking about booking this tour, do it. You won't regret it. ❤️🌿
This was the highlight of our two weeks in Vietnam. We wanted to see the terraced rice fields but a 9-hour sleeper bus up to overcrowded Sapa wasn't quite right for our adventurous family of 3. I did some research and decided that an outdoorsy trek through Pu Luong would be the best way to see some rice terraces and sightsee responsibly (honestly, just google the over-tourism of Sapa and it's affect on the children there, and make your own decisions). This ended up being an INCREDIBLE two days. It felt untouched and our local guides showed us the most incredible sights. Both days were filled with astounding beauty, humble homes, friendly people, peaceful moments and an overwhelming feeling of appreciation for how beautiful it was. I cried when we left on day 2. As we were leaving, my husband shared that he was very grateful for our tour guides and the way that we explored Pu Luong. For once, I do *not* recommend exploring it yourself. Divi Travel is the way to go!!! When I tell you that you will miss 90% of what's special out there by doing it alone, I mean it. Our guide explained SO MUCH and introduced us to people in the villages, to old women in the fields, to children playing in the waters. We got candies from a man making furniture, spotted crabs in a stream coming down the mountain, and stopped at incredible lookout points for photos. We stopped to inspect someone's bubbling pots over a fire, made friends with the homeowner, and continued on our way. Our guide pointed out some of the worlds largest spiders to us, we went on a raft down the river to a small waterfall where we swam around. We clapped for the children jumping off high bridges into the water and we pet every friendly dog we saw. The amount of times I said, "Wow" at the views could not even be counted. It was other-worldly. Our small trekking group of 6 was often speechless. I'm home now and I just want to be back in Pu Luong. The homestay chosen for us was Happy Home Pu Luong and it was magical. Our room overlooked the rice fields, our pool was spring fed from the mountain, fresh and delicious and clean. The food was amazing and staff very friendly. Now let me offer advice and answer some questions that we ourselves had: our homestay was chosen for us on the day of and we had a private room. I had anxiety about this being out of my control but it was a GREAT stay. We left our suitcases at the homestay and were picked up by a bus to take us to the starting spot for the trek. We returned to our homestay that night to eat, shower, swim, and sleep. We were picked up after bearkfast the next day for day 2 trekking. The hike is not that long (4-6km each day?) and not dangerous. A hat and comfy sandals or sneakers is all you'll need. I took a small travel backpack with waters, cash, sunscreen and a power bank for our phones. We did not need bug spray, we did spend all of our cash on hand woven items and on tips for our guides and drivers. The weather was hot, gotta suck it up and power through. Wear comfortable clothes and pack your bathing suits for the rafting day, there will be a place to change! The food was fine for my picky 13 year old! Rice, chicken, even French fries, along with some more authentic Vietnamese food. I would not consider it a buggy trip. My 13 year old hates bugs and he dealt with the dragonflies just fine. Seeing an 8-inch spider way up in the trees was pretty shocking, but there were zero on the ground and there were no mosquitoes in April. Overall, not buggy, and no snakes. A regular hiker will not struggle with any aspect of this trek, unless you hate heat. I wouldn't hesitate to take younger children that can keep up with an adult walking pace! It'd be an easy hike on AllTrails if you use that app. The drive was fine! My boys get car sick easily and this bus ride didn't bother them at all. The bus had charging ports, comfy seats, and roomy storage. We stopped once for a bathroom / food break for 20 minutes. I'm going to add photos but I don't know if they'll do it justice. Pu Luong was amazing and a must-see for anyone going to Vietnam and staying in or near Hanoi. Go see it, and trust Divi Travel to plan whatever they plan, and enjoy the mystery and beauty!
Very well organised, family-friendly trip with Divi. Highlights were our guides, Nga and Lei, and especially the rice terrace hike. It was 6-7 km and at times quite challenging, but so so worth it for the spectacular views. Amigo hotel was picturesque, wish we could have stayed longer. Every transfer and connection was expertly planned and seamless. Highly recommend! Thank you Mia!
Pu Luong is a nice travel destination. It is rural and the people are friendly. Especially the tour guide Nga was superb. However, a few things hinder me from fully recommending the trip: The Central Springs Resort was not a good fit for international travelers. The front desk does not speak English and they let me wait two hours until I could finally get into my room. A big Vietnamese group had a loud concert in the hotel restaurant until after 9 pm and there was no isolation to the hotel rooms at all. When I complained about getting no rest, Nga also phoned the hotel, which I really appreciated. There were not many activities on the first day, just walking around the rice paddies. The second day of the tour was great, with walking around a village, having dinner on the raft, and swimming in the river afterwards. After a long bus ride back to Hanoi, the driver passed by my hotel but did not stop. A kilometer later, after trying to show him where my hotel is, he suggested that I should just leave the bus and walk back (with luggage). Overall, I expected more for 154€ for the two days.
The tour was as Vietnam as it gets - great show around - seeing the houses and lives of the local people
Really lovely experience. Would definitely go again. The place we stayed was so nice and our guide, Nga, was fun and knowledgeable.
Great experience visiting a traditional village where we got a weaving demonstration from a very skilled local woman. We got relax on a bamboo raft and the lunch was delicious.
Amazing two-day experience in Pu Luong. The itinerary is rich and well designed, with hikes through rice terraces, village visits, local encounters and great meals. Everything felt smooth, authentic and immersive. The guide was attentive and passionate, which really made the experience special. Highly recommended.
Great experience.Amie and her team provided a memorable tour with ease and comfort. The journey to destination and back was swift and easy. Would do it again
The experience was very interesting in a natural environment and local people. The guide was competent and very nice giving you always interesting tips.
Traditional region which isn’t yet overrun by tourist. Beautiful mountainous area with little farming villages and rice fields. Well organised tour, great guide and overnight at Huy Thuc Homestay was comfortable with heartwarming hospitality
The tour was excellent- we were hampered a little by the weather on the first day as there was heavy rain the day before. But our guide adapted well and took us on a great hike. Day 2 we spent hiking and going to different villages. The scenery is amazing! Would recommend.
Nga and July led an amazing experience through the local village and rice fields through Pu Luong. We really enjoyed having tea with a local family and seeing how rice is farmed. The food was amazing and especially the river lunch on the bamboo raft.
Nga is a great guide, her knowledge and explanation were so good! And with a very good English As a solo traveler, it was so nice to get offered to get my pictures taken
Our tourist guide Miss Nga is great. She brings us to visit different villages and meet people, plants, craftsmen and bamboo rafting lunch is good. We have great time.
Lovely tour with a lot of interesting views. A great walk through the rice fields with a lot of good explanation from Nga. Interesting stop at local weaver and rice farmer. We could visit the inside of local house with a lot of explanation. Very recommendable tour and they keep you feed with very supreme food.
Great guide, beautiful experience. You get to visit the rural side of vietnam with a nice tour guide. You get to know the villagers and you can do a variety of activities with them.
We had a fun and interesting trip with Nga, she was very organised and helpful as well as making sure we had a great experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the quite and beautiful Vietnam countryside, the highlight was the riverboat cruise with a delicious lunch.
Had the best time with Nhung exploring the mountains and small villages of the mountains Walked and rode on the back of the motorcycle to go farther afield. Would highly recommend Nhung as a guide. Her English was great and she was very good company as well as knowledgeable as she lives in Phulong
The place and the tour were amazing! The tour was very interesting and varied! Nga showed me beautiful places in Pu Loung and I was able to gain exciting insights into locals' lives.
Highly recommended tour especialjy with Nga! And to this peaceful Phu Long!! She is very kind, friendly and professional! The activities were fantastic, local tours, local food on the bamboo raft and Nga makes the effort for me to experience with the local people lifestyle. Im solo traveller, its super safe avd I felt welcomed by everybody. Request for Nga, best guide and in ENGLISH!! Thank you!!
We had a truly amazing trip. Nga was an amazing tour guide and we really enjoyed the program that she had compiled for us. Pu Luang is still a very beautiful place and a good destination for anyone interested in eco tourism, Vietnam’s ethnic minorities and its beautiful rural countryside.
i liked this area better than Sappa. It is still young to tourism and has not yet been too ruined by heavy tourism. Hopefully it stays this way a long time. Nga was the greatest tour guide. Very knowledgeable super fun. I recommend renting a motorbike as part of this tour.
I booked a 2day tour in Pu Luong (from Ninh Binh) with this company. It patiently provided all the information (in details) I needed to make a decision, adapted my needs. The guide Nga that we got was very nice, helpful and interesting. Pu Luong itself was amazing, great views, lovely people. The resort was lovely, there was only one issue with it. We tried to order bottle of wine, they told us that they don’t know the price and we can pay at the check out. In the morning we were charged for this wine more than one million (more than twice we paid in train for non-local wine, for example). Other than that resort was very nice, staff very kind and food just great (especially the fish). All in all, we enjoy our tour a lot and recommend it for others.
New tour around local villages of Black Thai ethnic group who actually created wonderful rice field landscape and are very open kind people. We had enjoyed every minute of 2 days tour inspite rainy cold weather because guide was able to show us: - breathtaking views of rice fields, - local life village, homes and we drinked tea from bamboo - craft places with authentic style suveneers - bamboo wheels with ecological irrigation system - boat trip with lovely tasty lunch on the boat where you also enjoy landscapes and forests - home base tea at nice lady who also serve as traditional doctor - bamboo bridge Our tour guide Nga Lilia was very nice, knowledgable and warmly welcomed by local people, they like her which made our tour very cosy and special. Her english is very good and she explained a lot of true stories from locals about life, about war and other essence. We felt that she really loves people of Phu Luong and it creates very positive attitude. It is MUST see and enjoy in Phu Luong and while Ninh Binh stay, highly recommend
Everything was wonderful! Great view and service! Had a nice stay at the hotel, and the tour guide is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic!
It was a great trip in a remote mountainous area, the right choice for a trip away from the tourists. Pu Luong has peaceful villages with friendly people and delicious food. I really enjoyed walking around the villages, and especially the rafting experience was amazing. I recommend that you experience the trip with the guide Nga Lila. This girl had a lot of knowledge and energy, making the trip memorable and a lot of fun. She speaks very good English and she has a great sense of humor. She had us laughing all the time. Highly recommend this trip.
It was a wonderful trip to a not-so-popular-among-tourists place, and honestly it was one of the best trips we’ve had in Vietnam. The ride from Hanoi to Pu Luong was quite long (almost 5h) but once we arrived at the hotel, we realised it was totally worth it. The hotel was amazing, the views were astonishing, the staff was very friendly (they didn’t speak English but we had no issues using Google Translate) and the food was very delicious (and there was a lot of food, more than we could possibly eat). There also was a pool available for everyone but the weather wasn’t great, it was rainy and a bit cold so we didn’t have a chance to use it. After having an hour of rest at the hotel, we were picked up by our guide Nga. She was very friendly and knowledgeable, she told us a lot of interesting information about Pu Luong, and it was also nice to chat a bit about other stuff. We had a really nice time walking, hiking, rafting, and even silk-weaving! She introduces us to the local craftsmanship, cuisine and daily life. The second day was also full of great adventures, thanks to Nga! So in short - nice hotel, great guide Nga, amazing adventures, friendly local people and more for affordable price. 10/10 would recommend
We recently joined a fantastic tour through the breathtaking rice fields and charming ethnic villages of Pu Luong. The scenery was absolutely stunning, with lush green terraces, crystal-clear streams, and traditional villages. We also got a glimpse into the daily lives of the local people. Our tour guides - Tan and Nga - were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They shared fascinating insights about the region’s culture, history. Their passion and enthusiasm made the experience even more special. The tour was truly balanced between nature, culture, and relaxation. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves nature and authentic cultural encounters! Pu Luong is a hidden gem waiting to be explored, and with these amazing guides, you’re guaranteed a once-in-a-lifetime adventure!
The trip was amazing, our tour guide Nga was very good, knowledgeable and good company. We toured local market, did tracking through rice fields, had great lunch on bamboo raft and even visited local home and enjoied some tea. I would definitely recommend to go. I did this trip as a part of 2 day Pu Long tour.
Absolutely stunning view ! It is totally worth the trip here ! Beautiful , awesome , natural scenery , quiet , serene. Total mind blowing
The trip went really well. I was mesmerized by the breathtaking scenery, and the guide was always accommodating to make sure everything ran smoothly. Every penny was well spent, and I’d recommend this tour to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience.
Amazing tour with Nga. As nobody else made a reservation for the first day, I was lucky to discover Pu Luong with my private tour guide. I could taste local food, meet local people from Pu Luong and enjoy the beauty of the nature (many rice fields). Nga explained so many things about the vietnamese culture, it was very interesting. I was also lucky to enjoy my first karaoke in Viêtnam ! The second day, I joined a group (but still private tour as well were only 5). We went to 2 local markets : 1. We learned to weave scarfs and know more about the cultural traditions. 2. We tried a sweet specialty (soup with coconut milk, cassava, coconut pieces, and other fruits) and discovered the big local market opened twice a week allowing people to get all the stuff they need (food, beverage, tools, clothes..). We also had typical vietnamese lunch next to the river and went on a ride on bamboo rafting. Last part : waterwheels. Pu Luong is so quiet and peaceful, especially during dry season. Don't hesitate to book the tour with Nga, you won't regret it ! :)
I can’t star by describing how great this tour was. We wanted to get out of the city but no go on some very tourist place. Pu Luong was the best decision ever. The hotel was perfect with amazing view and pool. The views of the terrace fields are mind blowing and the people on this place are just so sweet. But the best part was Nga, our guide. She took us on the best spots, talked about the people and traditions, we had some tea and fruits with her. She adapted the tour to everyone’s needs. Plus she is just so sweet, interesting and fun. Takes lots of photos that she will later share with you. A girl with great personality and knowledge. Could not recommend this enough!!!
We had an excellent stay in the heart of the Vietnamese rice fields where we were able to immerse ourselves in the local culture thanks to many very interesting explanations from our guide. A memory I will not soon forget!
Hana was the guide who showed us the essence of Pu Luong Very entertaining and complete tour. We recommend it.
The experience was great, especially because of Hanna's attention and friendliness. I would definitely do it again.
Had a super fun time with our guides Hana and Eddie! On our first day we were picked up at the homestay by Hana and did a trek through the rice fields and past Thai houses. Hana could tell us a lot about the process of harvesting the rice, and about all the plant and fruit types in the area. On the second day, Eddie was our guide. He could also tell a lot about the culture of the Thai people and weaving with cotton. We did that ourselves too. Overall a super fun experience!
Recommended! Very good guide, well-organized and affordable tour
It was a great weekend, Wendy handled all the organization very well!! Our guide Eddie was great the whole way, we learned a lot of things and saw surprising landscapes! I highly recommend it, a very quiet place and not very touristy. The homestay is very beautiful and clean, with a pool and a beautiful view of the rice fields and mountains.
Beautiful walks through the rice fields landscapes, encounters with authentic people from the villages of the Pu Luong region, discovering traditional Vietnamese local life turned towards nature. Thank you, Nga.
