The tour guide and vehicle will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi, then depart for Cuc Phuong national park towards to the Southwest of Hanoi. It takes about 2.5 hours (130km) to get to Cuc Phuong national park. In case you do not need a hotel pickup, please go to this meeting point - Hanoi Opera House to meet our tour guide and driver.
We will firstly visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre which is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation, breeding, research, and conservation of endangered primates, and to the protection of their habitats.
Then you keep going into the park central. Relax for a while then have lunch at house-on-stilt in the middle of the jungle (the lunch is not included and you pay for it. It will cost around 9 USD per person). Taking a short trek into the National Park for sightseeing and learn more of fauna and flora in this oldest forest of Vietnam, to the giant ancient tree of 1000 years old in middle of the jungle.
Back to the Park Centre to visit the “Cave of Pre-historic Man", the limestone cave which was excavated in 1966. It was one of the earliest discoveries of human habitation in the country, with graves, stone axes, bone-made spears and tools dating back some 7,500 years. During the excavation 44 years ago, archaeologists found skeletons in three tombs where they believed prehistoric people had lived in the forest 7,500 years ago. In 2000, archaeologists discovered a fossilised sea reptile called placodontia, the first to have been found in Southeast Asia, dating back 200-300 million years.
Get back to the van and take 2.5 drive back to Hanoi. End this tour around 6.30pm at your hotel.

Nice hike through jungle on a path with lots of steps. Happy was a great tour guide, grew up here and knew the area well. Not much wildlife or birds seen, but lots of butterflies. Would probably skip the primate, turtle and bear rescue. Little more than a few animals in enclosures.
The experience was great. After staying in the crowded Hanoi Old Quarter, it’s totally worth escaping to a quiet, wild place. The trail is not difficult, but you do need to climb quite a few stairs. Also, keep in mind the recommendations about what clothes and shoes to wear. The guide was good and sociable. The transportation was okay-ish (the minibus was a bit old).
Mr. Hung led our family on a wonderful private tour of the Cuc Phuong National Park. We trekked in the jungle to see ancient trees, we visited the ancient cave, and also the primate rehabilitation center. We learned a lot of Vietnam history as we journeyed to the park. It was a long day but well spent. Highly recommend a visit to the park and Mr. Hung!
Really excellent experience! Tour guide was really nice and informative. Really great physical experience (not for people who don’t live physically activity as you will climb almost 1000 steps!), but for nature and sports lovers this is an excellent hike! Also got to see the monkey and turtle reserves. Thank you so much!
My adult daughter and I went on the Cuc Phuong day trip. The day ended up being the two of us, our driver, and our guide, Jack as it was rainy. They picked us up at our hotel. It was a 2.5 hour drive that was nice watching the sights from the van. We made one stop to buy souvenirs and grab smoothies and a sandwich to go. On the way Jack told us a lot about the history and the present culture of Vietnam and was great about answering our questions. We climbed a lot of very narrow and steep stairs to a historic cave. It was definitely worth the climb just be sure you are sure footed and have decent balance if you participate in this site. The trek in the jungle was terrific! You need long pants, long sleeves, a hat, and a rain jacket. The jungle was lush and interesting. Jack did a good job pointing out some of the flora and fauna and it was fun exchanging Vietnamese and English words for the plants and trees. Honestly the rain added to the experience. The jungle sounds and the patter of the rain were serene. When it rains there are tiny leeches in some parts of the forest that like to get on your shoes. You do need to stop and pick them off periodically or have a spray or even better wear rubber boots instead of tennis shoes. The turtle and primate sanctuary were very interesting. It’s a good idea to bring a few items with you like an extra water, a change of shoes for the drive home, and dry clothes in case of rain. I would definitely recommend this trek!
We had a great time on Anna’s tour. We were picked up and dropped back off in a private car from our hotel. We travelled to the national park and had a lovely walk through the jungle. It was so peaceful. We then went to the primate sanctuary which was awe inspiring. Anna was very friendly.

We were looking to do something different and we weren’t disappointed! Ken was our tour guide and had us laughing throughout the day. He had a lot of good stories to tell us. The primate/turtle centre was amazing to see all of the hard work going into saving these animals. You can tell they are well taken care of. We then walked up to the cave. There are a lot of steps but well worth it when you get up there. We went into the cave quite a bit and saw some bats !!!! Hard to believe that 100 people use to live in there. Lunch was really good and plentiful ! Then we went on a walk in the jungle to see the big old tree. So neat walking through the forest. Lots to see ! We all thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
A lovely trip into the national park to escape the chaos of Hanoi. There were 3 main attractions, the 1000 year old tree, the cave of pre-historic man and the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre. It's quite a long drive from Hanoi so you spend a lot of time in the car, but you get to see some of the rural parts of Vietnam on the way. Lunch was good - far too much food but it was very tasty. You don't really "trek" in the jungle - it's more of a walk along a track, but you get to see some amazing forest along the way. The Endangered Primate Rescue Centre was really good, if you love animals you will have a great time. Our guide was helpful and informative and gave a really good summary of the history of Vietnam on the long trip to the forest.
This was an unparalleled experience. The park was a delight. The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Always smiling. Would like to use this tour service again.

All in all it was an amazing tour. SO MUCH recommended!
This tour is a good choice for you if you have a short time stay in Hanoi and love to see nature. My family had a very nice tour with wonderful nature. Our tour guide was nice, helpful, informative and also very dedicated. The trekking is good enough for a day tour. We went into Pre-historical human cave and felt a bit nervous. A giant tree of thousand years old and Primate Rescue Centers are also highlights. Luch was nice. It was an unforgetable experience!
It was a great trip we have had so far. The park has a lovely trail which is not so adventurous and children can also join. The endangered Primates Rescue center is worth to see. We also had excited discovery to a Pre-historic man Cav, something truly special. It is really recommended to do.
