Itinerary
At 8:00 am, your tour guide will pick you up and take you to our bicycle store where you can choose the perfect bike for your ride. After getting comfortable and a brief safety briefing, we will begin our journey. Our first stop will be crossing the Red River using the Long Bien bridge, which is over 100 years old and was built during French colonial times. From here, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the river, observe boats passing underneath, and witness the lush green vegetable farms on the island.
Our next destination is the picturesque banks of the Red River, where we can witness the stunning beauty of Vietnam's countryside and observe farmers cultivating their lands. We'll make a stop at a local family who specialize in creating intricate bonsai plants. Our knowledgeable guide will assist us with translation, allowing us to engage in conversation with the family and learn more about local daily life and traditions. We'll take a break at the scenic Lotus Lake, where we can quench our thirst with refreshing sugarcane juice or other local fresh drinks. Continuing on, we'll cycle through dirt roads and rural villages until we reach the ancient Co Loa Citadel. This citadel, built in 200 BC, is a symbol of Vietnam's tradition of establishing and defending the country against foreign invaders, specifically Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong. After that, we'll head to a local restaurant to enjoy the delicious cuisine that Hanoi has to offer.
During the afternoon, we'll head to Huu Tiep Lake, located in the tranquil Ngoc Ha flower village. Here, we can observe an American B-52 aircraft that was shot down during the Christmas bombing in 1972. This peaceful island is situated away from the bustling streets of Hanoi and is known for its lush vegetable and fruit farms tended to by local farmers.
We cycling pass by the city major highlights such as: Hanoi Flag Tower at the age of nearly 200 years is renowned as one of the symbols of the city, Hanoi Opera House, 1000 years old royal Thang Long citadel, Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, Presidential palace, Ba Dinh square, Tran Quoc temple, Truc Bach Lake…
We'll then head towards the Reunification train track, which has been in operation for over a century and runs through the bustling heart of Hanoi. As we ride along, we'll pass by homes and residences where local residents live in close proximity to the tracks, providing a unique and immersive perspective on daily life in this exciting city. Afterward, we'll indulge in a unique local treat - Egg Coffee - a must-try delicacy in Hanoi that you won't want to miss. Finally, our ride will conclude and we'll head back to your hotel at approximately 4:00pm.
Following that, we will ride our bikes to a local wet market and taste some tropical fruits. We take a break at lotus lake to fill our thirst with sugarcane juice or some local fresh drinks.Keep cycling through dirt roads and rural villages until we arrived at Co Loa Ancient Citadel which was built in 200 BC to learn about Vietnam’s tradition of establishing and defending the country against foreign invaders of Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong.
We’ll make a visit to a local family making bonsai to learn about this intricate art form and admire some of the stunning plant creations. This is a wonderful way to learn more about local daily life and tradition, our guide will assist us to chat with them as a translator.
Then we’ll head out for our ride!First we cross the Red river by Long Bien bridge – the oldest one in Hanoi built over 100 years ago under French colonial time to enjoy the view of the Red River, watch the boats float underneath and see the green vegetable farm on the island

Excellent bike tour. Within 20 minutes of cycling we were out of the city and cycling around beautiful countryside. Cycling within the craziness of Hanoi also felt very safe as the tour provides ‘outriders’ on scooters to protect and shield us from the traffic. All the team were very helpful and Brian was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the area and Vietnam as a whole. Would thoroughly recommend this bike tour.
An amazing experience, well planned and implemented with great support from the guide and their crew. Some key destinations were visited, including "train" street but what left the greatest impression, was visiting the bonsai tree artist.
It was a lot of fun getting around town and countryside on the bicycle. Brian and other guy who assisted with traffic and keeping us safe while crossing was great. Brian was knowledgeable about the sites as we asked questions. 10/10. English was great too! Great to see outside of the busy spots of the city and be able to see locals, from broom making, to a bonsai hobbyist and crossing the river on a boat with the bikes. The food stops and breaks were great. We had Pho and coffee. We stopped at the train street with great timing and enjoyed a coffee as it passed by. Overall a great way to see Ha Noi.
We love to bike, so we were searching for a tour that wasn’t just a superficial pedal around the block. This was awesome, a great way to see the outskirts and rural area around Hanoi, plus some of the city sights. Loved the combination of peaceful rural rice fields and back alleys versus the hectic city roads and chaos of Hanoi. We booked a group tour but turned out to be just the two of us so it felt like a private tour. Brian was our fun guide on the bike, and Lee and another man (who’s name I did not get) our soigneurs on the scooter always nearby with replacement water, tools and extra rear protection while crossing those big intersections. Brian was an informative and knowledgeable guide at our many stops, and him and Lee had good banter, kept us safe, and overall was just fun to be cruising around Hanoi with. Highly recommended. Thanks guys.
I had a great day with Brian, and as a solo traveller, and being the only person on the ride, he was great company. His knowledge was good and was able to answer questions I had. The pace of the ride was good, and were able to stop at anytime. Ts a greatbway to see the outskirts of Hanoi. Highly recommended.
This was such a great experience as a solo traveler exploring Hanoi. Dung (doo-ng) was a great guide and provided a lot of knowledge about the French Quarter and the countryside. This was a great daytime activity to enjoy the outdoors and get some excercise. The bikes used were great and they provided helmets for safety.
Amazing tour! Would highly recommend. Traveling by bike allows you to tour the alleys that a bus wouldn’t let you see - you can experience the true side of Vietnam 👍
We hade a marvelous Day in Hanoi. Everything worked Out very well. We made interessante stops during the tour. We saw a lotta of interesting things. Our guides did everything for us to feel save and comfortable. Our guide Brian and his College were well preferenze.
Very nice bicycle tour. We did the half day in the country side and other half of the day in city on a scooter. We got to see vaste rice fields and visited the king and princess temple. In the city, we got to see the big west lake and the B-52 crash site pond. We also visited the war museum. It was a very hot sunny day, but we stayed hydrated with the free unlimited water given by the tour guide. We also got the chance to taste a variety of local Vietnamese dishes, which were all very tasty. The biking was fairly easy very flat terrain route and the ride was very safe with the guidance and security from the guides through the busier roads. Our tour guide, Dat, was really nice. He has a very good english and explained very well the history of the attractions we visited. I am writing this from the famous train street as we wait for the train to pass. Overall, it was a very nice day tour and I would definitely recommend any visitor to try it out, if you want a more personal and cultural visit of the city.
One of the best experiences i’ve ever tried. Highly recommend it. My tour guide Perry was super friendly, he shared a lot of interest cultural and historical info. You’ll get to see a different side of Hanoi. From rice fields to having green tea with a Vietnamese family. Lunch the Vietnamese way, and ending it at the train street.
5/5 great experience! Would advise anyone with limited time to visit Hanoi to spend at least half the day biking with this group. Great locations and exceptional staff (Perry was our guide and was fantastic! Would ask for him)
Perry was an amazing and very thoughtful guide! This bike tour takes you all over Hanoi countryside and city, many places with no other tourists around. Berry included a lot of history and information along the way, and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. A most welcoming tour, 5 stars, A+, would repeat in a heartbeat!
A day of cycling out to the countryside and back in and around Hanoi. Definitely tiring by the end of the day but very enjoyable to get out of Hanoi and see the countryside. Excellent guide with Perry too. Thoroughly recommend.
Had an amazing time with Perry. Very good chap with a good sense of humour. Gave a lot of insights on the city and the countryside that we visited. The highlights of the tour was the visit to Mr. Canh's House and the coffee at the train street.
Perfect tour with Thomas as guide and Mío providing motorbike support. Thomas spoke great English and was very knowledgeable on all cultural stops and answered our many questions about life in Vietnam. Mío was always present controlling traffic behind us, refilling our water and taking photos of the adventure. Lunch was fabulous. Thomas was flexible to our pace and interests. Highly recommend this full day tour to sample the city and outskirts of Hanoi.
Thomas did an awesome tour. Get out and adventurous with him! Perfect for my 11 and 13 year old girls. Get away from the tourists! Highly recommended!
It was great way to see the countryside. It was only me on the tour and felt like a personal tour. The guild took me to the famous obama bun cha restaurant, it was great, we even had egg coffee. You have to be moderately fit to do this as there a few bridges we had to go up.
We booked a full day bike tour to city and countryside from this company last week, and it was absolutely amazing. Our guide Thomas was very knowledgable and he has good english. They took us to all hidden spots. Our highlight the train street. Food was good and we felt safe all day long. We recommand this tour 100%
Thomas looked after us really well. And took a heap of photos for us along the way. Real experience biking around Hanoi, so glad we did this tour
The trip was wonderful the country side was amazing and colorful I took a 100 of pictures Bill explain everything so clearly that I was amazed if I take another trip on the future I will recuest Him to be my guia tank you
I did a solo bike tour with Thomas. He was a very great guide: knowledgable of the area, and made me feel safe as we navigated through busy traffic. His English is very good and he is fun to talk to. I highly recommend taking a tour with Thomas, he is the best!
I like to do bicycle tour when a visit a new city .I ride during 8 hours with Thomas and I had an incredible journey in the countryside and in Hanoi. We went to many different places and back alleys.I discover the real Hanoi with the day to day life of the citizens . Thomas was great and generous of his time. Do not hesitate to do this tour and ask to go with Thomas. You won’t regret it. Thanks Thomas for that wonderful day!
Great way to see the less travelled parts of Hanoi, full day of cycling in the countryside and safest way of cycling in Hanoi city. Thomas was a great guide with excellent English and lots of information.
This was such a amazing trip. Thomas is such a great tour leader. Even the crowdy Hanoi is a easy task for him.
Hoa and Long taylor made a fantastic itinerary giving us the most exciting experiences in this most vibrant of capital cities. From countryside to communities to city sites what an insight. Great tour !
Had a fantastic day with Chun. Great guide, very knowledgeable, very good English. We saw some great Hanoi sights, then went off script and rode across the city to South Hanoi to visit the Markets of the Gods. There was something I wanted and Chun made some enquiries and found that the Market was where it was, and kindly took me there. The ride across the city was brilliant. It was a magic 22 day !

My wife and I took the full day Hanoi city and countryside tour with Anh our main guide. If you have any doubts about how safe a tour on a bicycle in Hanoi could be, don’t worry these guys keep you very safe. We were picked up from our hotel at 8am and taken a short trip on the back of a scooter tot he bicycles. The bikes were pretty good quality mountain bike style with gears. We set off through the streets of Hanoi being led by one guide on a bike while Anh followed on a scooter. We wound our way though Hanoi to the Long Bien bridge, and cycled across to the outskirts of Hanoi where we saw some of the more collage line suburbs. Anh was brilliant she kept us informed all the way. Next stop was a Vietnamese couples house where we had tea and Grandpa told us a little about his life, his National service in the war, and showed us his bonsai trees and his vintage bicycle collection. Then we cycled though the paddy fields on the outskirts of Hanoi and got to understand why it is called the Garden City. We had an impromptu stop at a Sunday Market, where we saw live fresh fish being sold from big pots, amongst other things. Everything you could imagine! We took a local ferry part of the way back into the city, one of our group was struggling a little so Anh gave her a lift on the scooter and the other guide managed to get the bicycle back into the city. We stopped for lunch which was a fantastic meal, then set off with two guides around the city. We stopped at the B52 wreckage for a drink then continued on. We finished the tour not too far from train street, and had some excellent ice cream and sticky rice. Delicious! Thank you Anh and Cris, you made our day out absolutely fantastic and we will not hesitate to use this company again. Cheers from Michael and Sarah.
Our leader Tee and Roy were terrific and enthusiastic guides with very good English. The bikes were good with an emphasis on safety. They took us out of the City for several great cultural experiences. And then we had a great lunch and toured the city ending up on Train Street for an afternoon egg coffee to wait for the next through train. Thanks.
We got picked up on motorbikes from the hotel and taken to the pushbikes, From that moment on we were at the mercy of our guide NINH who put our fears to rest and made us feel 100% safe We had the full day experiance and travelled through the city and out into the rice fields and villages around Hanoi we stopped for dinner with a family who run a farm and at the home of an elderly coulpe who grew bonzi trees our guide NINH was so knowledgeable and spoke perfect english and was very friendly he loved finding out just as much about our way of life as he told us about his. i would highly recommend this trip be aware a full day could see you ride up to 40k so depending on your fitness they do half day trips as well
It was a lot of cycling but it wa a fantastic time. We saw so many aspects of life in Hanoi. Our guide was very friendly, informative and fun. The team took really good care of us. Day ended with a great lunch consisting of traditional Vietnamese cuisine and coffee. Would higher recommend this tour and would gladly do it again.
I took the full day tour of Hanoi and city. It was amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We packed a lot into the day. The countryside was stunning and we saw some beautiful buildings and very old temple. Cycling through the city was scary but fun. Our guide really looked after me to keep me safe. Great day out. Highly recommended
From 8am till 4pm (pick up and drop off from hotel on the back of motor bikes was cool), we experienced cycling close to 50kms which had us crossing Long Bien bridge and a more modern bridge, through rice fields, through Duong Lam ancient village, to Co Loa citadel, to a bonsai family business, cycling to river for a barge ride back across river, another cycle crossing on Long Bien bridge, traditional Vietnamese lunch in old quarter of Hanoi, then more cycling in Hanoi to West Lake, Truc Bach Lake, site where B52 crashed, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, TRAIN street and concluding with the best egg coffee in Hanoi. Our guides showed us an insight into how the locals live which was great. Tee's English was great and he helped us with Vietnamese pronunciation of basic phrases. Water supplied with numerous other drinks including freshly squeezed sugar cane juice, iced tea,and a passionfruit smoothie (any flavour of choice), all in price. Amazing value for money. Great day!
It was very nice! We have seen alot in just 4 hours and our guide was very kind! We have been riding with the bike through the city and the ricefields and visit a local family
This was a well-run tour which provided the opportunity to both see the countryside, and also Hanoi city centre, including some of the most interesting areas. I would definitely recommend it, so that you can see both Hanoi itself, and the surrounding countryside.
Awesome day spent biking all around Hanoi and the surrounding country side. Hui was a fantastic guide that provided great overview of the history AND was just hilarious to talk with and listen too. The lunch was delicious and sights were great. Definitely a highlight of my trip in Vietnam so far!
It was cool and a bit rainy in Hanoi on the day that i booked the full day mountainbike tour. And i woke up with pain in my back. Still i was llooking forward to do this trip. The perfect english speaking guide learned me a lot about the history and culture of Vietnam. The bikeride was very enjoyable, crawling through the traffic or pedaling in the ricefields. This tour is the best in Hanoi if you like cycling!
Great day riding, not only in Hanoi but also visiting local temples outside of Hanoi. My host was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable about their country and it’s history. I’m a keen cyclist, and would I do this tour again? Just watch me! I’ll be booking another tour when I’m back later in the year. Fantastic!!!
We visited Hanoi for a few days in March and wanted a way to see as much as possible in a short amount of time. We're both avid cyclists and had high expectations going in. This was, without a doubt, the best day of our 2 week trip. Our tour guide Trung was attentive, intelligent, and engaged. We especially enjoyed the stops at local markets to sample fresh produce. The logistics were extremely convenient; we were picked up early at our hotel and able to bike right back at the end of the day. At first it can be a little scary to bike in the city of Hanoi, but the guides will adjust the trip based on your comfort level and ability. If you are an even semi-athletic person looking for a unique way to see this incredible city, this is it!
I was in Hanoi for the weekend and booked this trip to see a bit of the city and the countryside. It was a really enjoyable trip, well organised, pre trip communication was clear and good. Saw lots of things, and the guide was really helpful and pleasant. Lunch stop was awesome. I really did get a sense of seeing a bit of Vietnam that not many tourists see, going through the back streets of villages, through farms and gardens and one of the highlights being meeting a wonderfully warm man who has created amazing Bonsai Trees and was a soldier in the war. Do this trip, you’ll enjoy it.
This is the best way to see authentic Vietnam through riding in the countryside. We met a local people with their traditional house where they grow bonsai trees, see gardens and greenish farms...Guide Ninh was Super friendly and informative. Definite must do
Pleasant bike ride with guide Thomas. First part was in the center of Hanoi, then in the countryside. During the bike ride stopped regularly to taste local specialties. Highly recommended!
Really good way to experience Hanoi. You will be guided quietly through small streets, out on the countryside, through small markets, guided by bicycle through the busy life of the city and visit locals who tell their fates and hospitable offers. You get a lot of history and delicious local lunch. Definitely an event you should set a day off for.
Visit to Hanoi very interesting to know the Vietnamese reality, with a very special guide: Anh and the driver Bean I recommend. Super well spent time!
Perfect experience to get to know a part of Hanoi and surrounding villages while playing sports and trying traditional food here The very nice guide Highly recommended!!
We took the full day tour. In the morning they passed by us to the hotel by motorbike to take us to the place where the tour departs and from there we set off to rural Hanoi via the train tracks, along the way we saw rice paddies, pagodas, markets and even a typical house. We crossed the river on a freighter and finished the first part with a delicious Vietnamese meal. The second part of the tour was inside the city visiting the most important points. On our trips we tried to do bike tours and we are used to them, but this was by far the heaviest of all, as between the heat, humidity and the kilometers traveled we arrived dead at the end of the day. Our guide Kevin was lovely with us and was attentive throughout, as riding a bike in Hanoi is very complicated!! But we got off well and got to know the most important things about the city. Definitely one of the best ways to get to know Hanoi!
