Most wonderful experience with the very best guides. They were so patient and kind. There was no rushing things and each experience was so individual. You not only get to learn to make pottery, but also get taught the history of the store. I couldn’t recommend this enough! 100% worth it!!

i found it under whelming. the village itself was over flowing with wonderful ceramics, but the class itself was not a class, just a lot of people sitting on stools playing with clay

We had the best afternoon making pottery!! All 3 of us really enjoyed it, Sonny was a wonderful teacher and the time flew by. It was a small group, very central location, very cool with lots of fans and it’s so special picking up your pieces to take home a couple of days later. Would highly recommend.

It was a very cute experience and all the teachers were very nice and helpful. You can try to make as many things as you want and then you get to choose which ones you want to keep. Now we have a nice self-made souvenir to take home with us 😍

I booked a group event, but I was able to receive individual guidance! I have the coolest souvenirs to take home that are unique and beautiful. One piece comes with the experience, but you’re able to make as many as you want and then pay only a few extra bucks to glaze the ones you want to keep. I made two cups, two bowls, and two mugs. I definitely collapsed a lot more clay in the process, so you don’t have to be good to still get to take home something great. My guide was awesome, and she provided me a lot of information on the city.

We had plenty of time to create our own plates, mugs, or whatever we wanted. The staff was very helpful, so the results turned out absolutely beautiful. Keep in mind that your pieces will shrink during glazing and firing, so make them a little bigger than you would normally want them to be. I can absolutely recommend this workshop! A big thank you to the whole team. (Just a small note: If you have back problems, this workshop might not be the best choice, as you’ll be sitting on very small stools for several hours.)

The forecast for Hanoi looked rainy and I was looking for something to do when I discovered this pottery class. It had very good reviews and I decided to book it. It was located on top of the ceramic store. I was met by my teacher Hang. I had never done pottery before and I was a bit insecure in the beginning with handling clay. But Hang was super nice and encouraging, helping me through every step. In the end, I created several pieces that actually looked like plates, cups and bowls, thanks to Hang. Apart from that, it was very nice to talk and to learn about the culture and life in Vietnam as well as in the Bat Trang pottery village. I would definitely recommend to book this class, you will get a great experience and a few ceramic pieces as memories:)

Excellent pottery class with clear instructions and advice and help when we moved to wheels thought had gone onto how to provide this class (provide flip flops so clay doesn’t get on shoes ) lots of fans ) seemed to be unlimited clay as we kept getting told try again or make something else ended with 12 good pieces between daughter and me so one piece is included and we brought 8 others as we so impressed with ourselves as the help given means you can try anything

Very positive experience, English-speaking guide was able to help us judge if the clay was too thick or too thin. All the pieces turned out great! 4 days turn-over time (Workshop on Thursday afternoon, collected on Sunday afternoon). Highly recommended to do this if time permits!

We had a wonderful time at this pottery workshop in Hanoi’s Old Quarter! It was so much fun creating our own ceramic pieces, and we were genuinely surprised by how quickly we were able to make something beautiful. Even our daughter was able to create her own pottery after just a short introduction, which made the experience especially enjoyable for our whole family. The staff were incredibly friendly, patient, and supportive throughout the workshop. They guided us whenever we needed help while still letting us create our own unique pieces. One important tip: make sure to book the workshop early during your stay in Hanoi. It takes about three days for the pottery to be fired, so you’ll need enough time if you want to collect your creations before leaving. Unfortunately, our stay in Hanoi was too short. However, the team kindly offered to ship our finished pottery to our next hotel for a small additional fee, which was a fantastic solution and excellent customer service. This is a relaxing, creative, and enjoyable activity that is perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking for a unique hands-on experience. We recommend it!

This is a great experience for all ages (Above 5yrs really) The staff were super friendly, extremely patient and attentive to all the group. There were 12 in our sessions with 3 instructors who continually moved around to help everyone. Full instructions are given first and you can produce as many pieces as you wish of which one is included in the charge, any extra have to be paid for. We thoroughly enjoyed oursession and hadlots if laughs. Well eorth it.

Really great experience and class was well organised and suitable for people with no experience. Each class is well put together in terms of length and allows students to try multiple times even after failing class sizes are small allowing undivided attention from teachers. Would surely recommend

Fantastic pottery workshop! I had such a great time during this pottery workshop. The instructor was very patient and provided excellent guidance throughout the entire process, which made it easy and fun even for a beginner. The workshop was creative, relaxing, and a real highlight of my trip to Hanoi. I was very happy with the final result and proud of what I made. What impressed me most was the shipping service. My pottery was carefully packed and shipped from Hanoi to Saigon. Everything arrived safely and in perfect condition. You could really see how much care and effort went into the packaging. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone visiting Hanoi. A wonderful experience from start to finish!

I had some experience with throwing and the teacher was happy to let me centre my own dough. She only helped when it was necessary. I had the time to enjoy and experience throwing. The teacher was very patient and helpful. She was super nice!

We booked the pottery making class. A beautiful experience. The team were so helpful and informative, making you feel comfortable through the whole experience. We made 5 pieces per person , with a small fee you can take them all home! The final outcomes were excellent. Great chance to take something homemade home.

What a wonderful experience! Everyone was so helpful and I got to learn an art! I was traveling by myself and felt totally comfortable and looked after. The teachers were patient and amazing! I highly recommend this for everyone, young and old!

i had such a great time at this pottery class. i was the only one learning during my time slot and my teacher hang guided me throughout the 3h class to help me throw 13 pieces in total! i ended up adding on 4 pieces to glaze (5 total) and am extremely happy with the results! highly recommend and will definitely book again :)

The pottery class was amazing, our instructor walked us through how to make many items from clay and how to “throw” them. You get to keep what you made and they pack and glaze it for you. Defiantly recommend coming here with family and/or friends.

My girlfriend and I had a great time making pottery here. The staff was attentive and patient, helping us to make exactly what we wanted. Love the result!

Loved the experience!! The ladies were very knowledgeable and helpful. The class went for three hours and after about a half hour tutorial we spent two and a half hours making pottery. You could make as many items as you wanted and any item you wanted, vase, plate, cups, whatever and then choose your favorite at the end to be coloured and fired (6 colours to choose from), 1 free each. We had the option to buy any additional items we'd made for $5 USD each. For us 3 we got our 3 free items and bought another 6 items of what we made.

We had a great time in the pottery painting class, our guide was super helpful in mixing the paints for us to get the colours we wanted and even giving up ideas for what to paint! We did the 830am class and they were fired and ready to take home for us the next day, ahead of schedule :)

This is a really fun experience, it was our first time and the lady really helped us and had a lot of patience as we did mess up a few times but loved every second it was so funny and a cute souvenir to take home. The shop also allows you choose one of their own items if you’re not staying long enough to pick up your item which is very considerate of the them 🩷 Staff are friendly and welcoming

We had a lovely experience making pottery here. As first timers we were a bit nervous but our guide Hằng was calm, thorough and super kind. She made us feel at ease right away. After nearly 3 hours of throwing clay, we got to take home one piece each of our choosing, plus paid an extra 130k VND to take an extra piece. All of the staff here are incredibly friendly, and their entire collection is gorgeous. Highly recommend!

I do ceramics back home in Canada and thought it would be fun to do a workshop. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and even taught me a few new techniques! I really enjoyed my experience here, would definitely recommend for all pottery skill levels! The glaze options are beautiful as well!
