Highly recommend this 3-day, 2-night tour to Ban Gioc Waterfall and Ba Be Lake! Our guide, Eddie, was absolutely fantastic. He was incredibly informative, sharing great local insights and history throughout the trip, and he made sure everything ran smoothly. Traveling in a small tour group was a huge plus, as it made the experience feel personal, relaxed, and allowed us to bond with fellow travelers. The accommodations along the way were good, but the stay at Ba Be Lake was a real highlight. If you are looking to experience this beautiful part of Vietnam, this tour is an absolute must!

Day 1
1
“Are you ready to start a fabulous adventure tour Vietnam ? Our tour guide will pick you up by mini van at your hotel in Hanoi old quarter or Mr Linh's Adventures office around 7:30 - 8:00am, transferring you to Lang Son on a scenic 3-hour drive toward the Chinese border. Upon arrival, we will visit Mạc Citadel, a 16th-century fortress built by the Mạc Dynasty as a defensive outpost against the Lê-Trịnh forces. Although partially in ruins today, the citadel stands as a testament to Vietnam’s turbulent feudal history. You will have time to explore its stone walls, learn about its strategic military role, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding region.
After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Đồng Đăng, we continue to Đông Khê, an important historical site where the Battle of Đông Khê (1950) took place during the First Indochina War. This battle marked a significant victory for the Viet Minh against French colonial forces, setting the stage for further independence struggles. As you explore the site, you will gain deeper insights into Vietnam’s revolutionary history. In the evening, we will travel to a traditional Nùng ethnic homestay, where you will enjoy a home-cooked dinner and a restful overnight stay, immersing yourself in the local culture and way of life. Highlights and activities: Mac citadel, Dong Khe battle site, ethnic villages, and a 3-5km walk”
Day 2
2
After enjoying breakfast at the homestay, you will depart for Trung Khanh which lies right on the border with China. Here you will have another chance to meet and interact with the local Nung people living in the village of Phuoc Sen, a mountainous village famous for its traditional blacksmithing. The farming tools made here are an integral part of the lifestyle which is evident in the surrounding rice paddies and fields. Nestled amongst these amazing landscapes is the breathtaking Ban Gioc Waterfall which spans over 300 meters, split half and half between Vietnam and China. You’ll get some time here to simply take in the amazing atmosphere surrounding the falls, which presents an excellent opportunity for some fantastic photography. Once you’ve finished at the falls, it’s time to head over to Nguom Ngao Cave, for a very different, but no less impressive natural wonder. The cave stretches for 2,144 meters underground and is brimming with incredible stalactites and stalagmites.
You will then return to Cao Bang town and head down the “snake pass” to Ba Be Lake, where you will stay overnight in a homestay constructed in traditional Tay fashion and owned and operated by a local Tay family. Here you can relax and unwind from the day and enjoy a delicious and authentic home cooked meal. Highlights and activities: Ban Gioc waterfall, Nguom Ngao cave, Ba Be National Park, ethnic villages Rounding out the day, you will then travel to Quang Uyen where you will have dinner and stay overnight at Nung’s house.
Day 3
3
After breakfast, you will board a boat to cross the lake to the north shore. From here you will start a hike in the rainforest of the central area of the Ba Be National Park. Along the shores of the lake, you will reach a prehistoric cave dating back 500 million years, hidden in an ancient forest composed of rare and hard wood trees, as strong as steel. A little further, a fire station allows to observe the birds.
Resume your hiking to reach the An Ma temple (a sacred temple of the Tay people venerating the snake god and military general of the Mac dynasty). It is now time to choose how to spend your time on the boat: relax and admire the landscape or take a dip in the fresh waters of the lake? Anyway, enjoy the scenery with its beautiful karst formations lined with jungle. Note: visitors who do not wish to participate in the walk can ask to stay on the boat to join Widow Island or do some shopping
Return to Ba Be Jungle Houses restaurant for lunch before ending the tour, you will be taken about 230 km back to Hanoi and stop at a tea plantation located among rolling hills. When we arrived in Hanoi, it was time to say goodbye, creating lifelong memories and bonds.

This was a super tour taking in a fabulous homestay at an incense village, Ban Gioc waterfall, nearby Caves and Ba Be lake with second night at Ba Be jungle homestay, taking in part of Cao Bang Loop. As with all tours sometimes things don’t go to plan and we didn’t manage to get to our accommodation at Ba Be jungle until way past dark , so didn’t manage to chill in daylight or use the pool.
Wonderful trip and incredible homestay. Ba be absolutely cannot be missed. Beautiful homestay and guide was great.
Fantastic trip, both homestays were great, really friendly and so welcoming, weather worked well for us when we were there waterfalls and the lake trips were superb ... and even a hot sweaty, but fun trek in the jungle .... had a great time and special thanks to our driver and guide for putting up with us and helpful throughout....hope we'll be back
Fantastic Trip, I did the Ban Gioc Waterfall tour 2night 3 days. Eddie was very friendly and made sure the trip went smoothly and accommodated diatry needs. Accomodation was comfortable, with character and spectacular views. I would definitely use Mr Lihn's Tour again. Thank you for making my trip memorable.
I went in the monsoon time of year so we had some heavy rain and unpredictable weather. Eddie our guide and our driver were very professional and friendly and drove to conditions to keep us safe. Eddie was very knowlegeable and passionate about the history of vietnam which I really enjoyed learning. This itinerary lets you see and learn about the real vietnam and get off the tourist track. The views from the viewpoint are well worth the hike and the boat ride is very relaxing. I highly recommend the tour.
Had a 3 day tour of the Cao Bang Surrounds around Ban Gioc Waterfall, Ba Be Lake, Chinese border - was very good and amazing scenery in a nice comfortable bus. Days felt long with long bus travel during days, but was worth it for the scenery. Giang guiding us was great.
You cover a lot of country, the farm stay was so great-to wake up surrounded by rice Feilds, the real experience with lovely accommodation and so much food, then onto the jungle stay again really lovely accommodation- it’s just a bit rushed. An extra night would be ideal
Ban Gioc waterfall is very beautiful and the nature along the way to the fall and later Babe lake (incl the national park) were amazing. It is a lot of time on the bus though as you have a lot of (very pretty) ground to cover! Thank you John & the driver for taking good care of us for 3 days!
Amazing in every aspect. Fantastic people, home stay and food. The sites were simply beautiful. Thank you John for a great trip.
Paying the extra money for a tour is 100% worth it in my eyes. We had only been in Vietnam 3 days before going on our tour and it makes a huge difference on how you see everything around you. It helps you ease into the culture very easily. Our tour guide, Eddie, spoke very good English and was a very kind man. He was very knowledgeable on everything we went to see and went past. The places we stayed were also luxurious and very clean. The first night was in a little village in the mountains. We got to see the culture and lifestyle of the families in this village and it was amazing. The views of the places we went to were also incredible. The food we ate was delicious and there was plenty of it too. There is quite a bit of driving but the van was comfortable and the driver was very good and smooth. Could easily take quick naps while on the road. The tour was out of our budget but was 100% worth the money. Staying in lovely places, eating heaps of lovely food, gaining insight into Vietnamese culture and way of life and seeing jaw dropping sights. Suitable for all ages aswell, we are a young couple and had the best time and we were with a middle aged couple who loved it too. Mr Linhs Adventures are a great company and I would recommend this to anyone and everyone.
After competing with the hordes of other tourists at Sapa, Ninh Binh and Ha Long Bay, Cao Bang Province was extremely refreshing. Yes it's a long way by road to get up to the border with China to see the Ban Gioc falls, and another long day on the bus to get back to Hanoi. For me the beauty of the area in general (not only the falls/ cave/ lake that are the highlights), and fewer tourists, made that worthwhile. However what really made the difference was the fantastic organisation of our itinerary by Nginh (I know I've spelt that incorrectly). He changed our accommodation on night 1, as he could see we were an older group and would be grateful for some creature comforts. This also meant that we were closer to the falls the next morning, so had a more leisurely morning than we otherwise would have had. We were the first and only people in the Nguom Ngao cave the next morning, and there were very few other tourists at Ban Gioc falls when we arrived. By the time we left the crowds were growing. THIS is good planning, and I appreciated it. The other thing I appreciated was Nginh's concern that my physical limitations shouldn't prevent me from experiencing everything on offer. He encouraged me to take part when I was concerned I'd be too slow for the group. And often he held my hand to ensure I felt safe on stairs with no handrails. He's very passionate about the region, and often took photos along with us, even though he travels there as often as once a week. And to top the trip off we had Bao driving us. He was excellent. He handled the Hanoi traffic, the long days, and even a dodgy back road that was having roadwork done on it, with skill and good humour.
I had contacted Mr Linh’s Adventures got a quick response and planed private trip to Ba Be -Ban Gioc for 4 days/ 3 nights, for 20th September. Paid my deposit of 30% late June. Was really looking forward to our trip, but then typhoon Yagi hit North Vietnam on 7th September, once I had heard about the typhoon 10th September , I contacted the tour operator asking the impact the typhoon had on the area we be going to, and wanted to make sure the trip would be safe. His reply was since your trip the 20th September it will be fine and I will update you. 13th September, I get a text saying the is over in Ba Be and has almost receded and SHOULD be back to normal in 3 days. After do a bit of research myself, and having friends reach out to colleagues they knew in VIetnam, I just didn’t feel this trip would be safe to take, specially as I would have someone else child with me. I emailed the company to cancel the trip stating my concerns about roads, bridges and landslides. After a few text it was pointed out to me that I was cancelling 5 days out from my trip and I would lose my deposit plus they wanted another 25% which I wasn’t going to pay and made that very clear. At no stage did the tour operator point out to me, when I first inquired about the typhoon that I lose my deposit and if I waited 7 days out they want another 25% and if I waited like he had asked until the Tuesday before the trip to cancel I would have been asked to pay the full amount for the trip I was planning on cancelling. After speaking to other people who had trips planned for Halong Bay and Northern parts of Vietnam (clearly with other companies ) who cancelled their trip just after I cancelled mine, were refunded their full deposit. As, I was cancelling for safe reasons and just not a change of mind, I feel the company should have refunded my deposit, specially since they were not give me basically no information of what areas were hit by the typhoon and where the damaged had occurred.
This was a great tour exactly what we were after. We enjoyed spending time off the beaten track connecting with some of the local people. We went a month after the typhoon and ended up as the only two people on the tour. We enjoyed the sites as they weren't over crowded. Our driver was great as was the tour guide. Although our tour guide was young, he was still very engaging just lacked some of the deeper knowledge around culture/history.
The Tour over the three days was absolut amazing. Our Guide Lim was so nice and accompanied us to the different places of north Vietnam. Our driver Long drove us safe and sound everywhere. Even with the difficulties of the taifun we could enjoy the trip. As a vegetarian could try out many different dishes which were very nice. Only thing to note is that the drives in between take a long time. But we stopped regulary to get some cofee. All in all: 10/10
Day 1 we were last to be picked up and had to sit at the end of the row which was very uncomfortable. The next two days we basically raced to get a better seat so we wouldn’t have to do that again. The first day had the most driving too… the lunch was pretty bizarre. Làm helped me to a pharmacy to grab some medicine which was really nice cuz I didn’t even ask. Hoemstay is not for the faint of heart, but one can adapt. There’s a shared restroom and dinner is family style like lunch. Family is welcoming. Day 2 the big day… the waterfall was overflowing and that meant we couldn’t do the boat raft womp womp… all that driving … but hey we got in some good shots after slipping through some deep slippery mud. Ba be lake was nice, some trash kind of like ha long Bay Area. Jungle houses are way nicer. We loved our room! Not too much water pressure but did the job. Meals were an upgrade for sure we loved it all. Staff was friendly too. Oh and the pool was a nice reward after another day of driving. Day 3 another day of driving but before that we did a 3km hike which we loved because we had the guide to ourselves and we had some awesome convos with Lắm (sp?) he is the best guide we’ve ever had compared to any other tours we’ve ever been on. He’s so sweet, funny, helpful, patient open and informative. Shout out to lắm for baby sitting all of us . He really made the trip better. Such a kind soul. And shout out to our poor driver sadly dont remember his name but apparently he was friends with Mr linh since high school. Feel bad for him driving on those crazy roads for all those long hours!
Fantastic taste of sites of northern Vietnam. Jason was a great guide and Win Win, the bus driver was great. There is a bit of driving, however it was well worth it. My favourite part was the small villages. The first homestay accommodation was fairly basic but the surroundings excellent.
Most of the days are spent traveling on the bus. First day spent on the bus to get to the first home stay 8 hours from Hanoi . The first home stay was nice, clean food was tasty, not so peaceful and tranquil as they sung karaoke until gone midnight. Back on the bus in the morning we went to the cave which was really quite cool then onto the waterfalls unfortunately for us were super busy . Guide told us the bamboo raft were only for the Chinese side but I insisted as it was the main attraction and on our itinerary after that I feel the guide was a bit upset with me . We were then back on the bus 7 1/2 hours later arriving at mr linhs home stay was pitch black and we got stuck in the mud in the boat crossing to the home stay . Home stay is nice clean food tasty but repetitive. Didn't have the home stay vibe though just hotel business just a name as mr linh himself lives in hanoi. Next day Ba be lakes on the boat, beautiful also another cave which was really cool. We walked along a path near a small village and back on the boat , lunch and then another 7 1/2 hour bus drive back to Hanoi . The attractions and home stay are lovely but it just feels like your taken there to take a photo and move on . I would not recommend this trip as most of it is spent on the bus it literally sucked the life out of me . The trip needs to be revised.
Great organised tour from pickup at our hotel and dropped backed, Good knowledge by our guide Sonny and great driving by the driver, we first got picked up and went to Ha Long bay and spent the night with 30 others from a different tour on a boat in HaLong bay, good food and tours of caves and kayaking, only negative would be the over crowded islands, went back to Hanoi for a stay at a very nice hotel, from there the next morning we got picked up by Sonny and the driver, there were only four of us on this tour, we went to the caves, waterfalls on the China border and then on to a farm stay in a village, next day on to Ba Be Lake National Park where we spent the night at a lovely guest house, next day we did a long boat trip up to a village, temple and back to the guest house for lunch and then drove back to Hanoi .The tour did a circuit of North Vietnam, it is a lot of driving but the accommodation is very good along with all the food, the driver ( sorry forgot his name) was excellent along with Sonny the guide who's local knowledge was first class, Sonny kept a eye on everything including dealings with locals making sure we weren't over charged, dealings with Linh Hue via WhatsApp was excellent from my first research via the internet in Australia, high would highly recommend this company, regards Bryan, Australian
Many thanks to our guide, Long Tran and our driver Mr Long for taking care of us on our wonderful family trip to Ban Giou Waterfall and Babe Lake. Even though the drives were long, the care, knowledge of our guide, beautiful scenery, accommodations and delicious food made up for it all. Thank you!
A very nice excursion to discover the northeast of Vietnam, its magnificent waterfalls, its very beautiful lake and other non-tourist places. Special mention to our guide, Long Tran, who allowed us to better understand this region and its history. The accommodations chosen were of very good quality and the meals provided varied and qualitative. Despite the many hours of roads, our driver, Long, was able to drive us safely.
Tour was exactly as advertised. Loved the Cao Bang province as it's so beautiful. The waterfalls were a bit underwhelming, but the landscapes and cave made up for that. It was fun to stay in the local homestays as it felt more authentic and peaceful. There was only one issue and that was with our tour guide (Mr Hung). We want to share this feedback as it can help improve the company as well as our guide's skills. Working points are: 1. English language: his English was a bit scripted when he would talk and provide information. Once you asked him a question he wouldn't understand. I don't think his level of English was sufficient to guide an international group. (An example: We asked, "How many people live in this town?" His answer: People in the village grow rice.) 2. Social skills: Hung came across pushy and stressy at times. I'm sure it wasn't his intention, but he stressed us out in the morning by trying to rush us out the door. Maybe the lack of English in this situation also didn't help. We received a feedback form on our way back to Hanoi. We filled out that he needed to improve his language and social skills on the form. We then sealed it into the envelope. Unfortunately, he opened the envelope in the car after we returned them to him. He then put them in his pocket during the rest stop. We believe he changed the answers on the form (we can't tell 100% for sure, but it sure looked like he did - we saw the envelope in his pocket). This is something we'd never expect from a guide. A feedback form with a sealable envelope should be confidential... this was very unprofessional. There were a few other unprofessional things we noticed along the way, but we won't get into the details here. Feel free to contact us for more information. :) Luckily for us, it didn't ruin the trip as we already explored and learned a lot about Vietnam (we already traveled here for 3 weeks). But we can imagine that for people who just arrived, it would be a letdown. - Zac and Ine
Really enjoyable trip with the highlights being Ban Gioc Waterfall and then the home stay at Ba Be Lake. Our tour guide Tuan and driver Mr Bao were excellent and always ready to help or offer a smile. Do be prepared for a lot of winding roads on this tour but with plenty of stops to break it all up. We totally enjoyed being with just a small group of 5 and getting to know the others along the journey. The scenery in the mountains is fantastic and really shows off another side of Vietnam.
We enjoyed the tour with Mr Linh's Adventures. The sceneries were really nice and the tour guide felt really passionate about his country. The tour is a far drive from Hanoi, which makes it less commercial than one day trips around Hanoi. The area maintains its originality as it is not packed with tourists.
Except of the nice views, most of the time spent on driving. We didn’t felt that the guide was attentive to the group needs. It was hard to understand the guides explanations in English as good as possible, and we didn’t feel we are getting added value. The tour wasn’t including all the activities that were detailed in the itinerary. In general we feel quite disappointed from the tour and that we didn’t get well value for the money. For example: it was written that we going to have time for swimming and kayaking in the lake, but we had only few minutes to swim(also because of the boat engine broke down in the middle of the river) and we had to wake up extremely early to go kayaking in the lake by our self without any instructor(2 of our friends was sinking with their kayaks, which can be dangerous)
When I read all the reviews about this company I thought it would be a much better experience than it was. We didn’t do any trekking at all on this tour and instead spent hours in a van every day of the tour. The schedule was a bit rushed, and the food for vegans/vegetarians was not nearly as good as online reviews made it seem (at least, not if you like flavor). I wouldn’t recommend this for vegans/vegetarians or for people who are looking for a more active and personalized experience.
Top quality attractions in a hard to visit area, well presented by our excellent guide Chu Si Tỉnh and driver, Mr. Duy. There is a lot of driving on steep windy roads. We were well looked after with great commentary in English by Mr. Tỉnh, who also took excellent photos! Meals and homestays also very satisfying.
We have really enjoyed time spent on this trip. We had many small stops to have a walk across vietnamese country side including authentic villages, rice fields, river side which we fancy a lot. Booking this you need to be aware that you spend quite some time in the bus, but you will travel very long distances and it's worth it. Ba Be lake boat trip with side track to visit rice fields and local village was a winner for me.
It was the one of the best trips EVER!! Long (tour guide) and Long (driver) are very experienced, knowledgeable and made the trip as seamless as they could. The highlights for me were Ban Gioc waterfall and the scenic morning stroll along the Vietnam-China border belt. I would 10/10 recommend this travel package in a heartbeat.
Excellent trip up north for three nights. Highly recommend the Ban Gioc and Ba Be Lake trip. Staying in the incense making village was amazing! All the little stops along the way were interesting. The places we visited were gorgeous. Our guide (Mr. Ling) was great and rearranged the itinerary so we got to the waterfalls when there was more water. Lots of time in the van was the only drawback, but they did make frequent stops, and getting to see the lake and waterfalls was worth it.
This was a lovely trip. The guide was helpful and friendly and the homestays were very nice. Riding a boat around Ba Be Lake is going to be a highlight of our trip.
Each element of the tour was fantastic and well worth visiting. Ba be lake and the waterfalls were stunning, the temple and market gave a taste of true vietnam life, both homestays were clean and comfortable (the second was basic, but given the location in a homestay in a traditional village, very comfortable), and the tour guide and driver were great. Staff in the office communicated well, and everyone worked to retrieve my kindle from the remote mountain homestay, where I'd stupidly left it, within 24 hours! Four stars instead of 5 because of the distance- 5 hours drive on day 1, 6 hours on day 2, and 5 hours on day 3. Though t was in the itinerary, the true scale of the 1000km total drive wasn't that clear. However if you have the stamina, well worth it!
We have just returned from the Ban Gioc Waterfall and Ba Be Lake trip which we were able to customize into a 5 day, 4 night trip to spend extra time in places we wanted to see the spectacular scenery. Nghinh our guide was so helpful and knowledgeable. He was able to order the food we liked and communicate with the local people in the villages we walked through. He knew such interesting and scenic walking trails that we could go on as well as arrange our entries in places where people did not speak English. The driver was very competent and careful. We would walk for kilometres through scenic villages, to arrive in a place where he would be waiting to pick us up and take us onto the next experience. The food was excellent everywhere we went and was more than we could eat. They also carried extra drinking water in the car for us. The homestays we stopped at were above expectations , a great experience and very clean. This trip was great value and covered the driver and car, guide, accommodation, food, drinking water and entry fees to parks etc.
Every aspect of this trip was fantastic except for one part. The part where I had to pay twice for my bus trip from Hanoi to Ba Be Lake and the boat ride to Mr. Lihn’s homestay. There was some confusion about whether or not I paid for the bus. It turns out I did and was given a refund from Mr. Lihn’s father. Other than that the accommodations, the guide, the hike, and the food were phenomenal. I quips recommend this trip to anyone. Mind you the paying for the bus was a minor inconvenience that was exacerbated by my lack of Vietnamese language skills but it was fixed. My advice for fellow travelers would be to double and triple check the communication with their agent before you go.
Funny and charismatic tour guide! Excellent food and locations for tours. It was a very relaxing trip with fantastic accommodation and two different home stays.
Love the waterfall & culture of the communities along the way. Homestay maybe a be challenging for people from Metropolitan cities
My partner and I had an absolutely amazing time on our tour with Ninh on the Ban Gioc and Ba Be lake tour. Our tour guide Ninh was just amazing. His English was really good and he went above and beyond to describe the country and the landscape to us. We really enjoyed the small village we stayed at the first night and the hostess Ms. Kim was just the most precious host. We actually enjoyed the Ba Be lake more than we did the waterfall because the waterfall was pretty packed with tourists. At the lake we stayed at the home stay of Mr. Linh and it was actually his wedding and so we celebrated his wedding day which was just a blast. His family was super welcoming and I thought we got to see a lot of culture through this experience. We loved this tour and would recommend it to anyone!
I did a group tour of 20 members with Mr. Linh Adventures on May 2022 from Hanoi. The tour includes transportation, food and beverage, accommodation and activities. The sights were very nice and all activities were well-prepared to avoid any waste of time. I spent 3 amazing days thanks to Mr. Li, our guide. We learnt many interesting facts at different pit stops along the way despite a tight planning. Pain point can be the long driving distance. Mr. Li's secret is happiness and you will spend priceless moments with locals in homestays. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing the true beauty of northern Vietnam.
I highly recommend taking a tour with Mr Linh's Adventure. Our guide Mr Long was incredible, he was so knowledgeable and great to chat with. The areas we visited were breathtaking and worth every penny. It is a lot of driving but it's worth it. The restaurants we went to served great local food. The homestays were very comfortable and we're newely built.
My 5 friends and I did the 3 day tour to Ba Be Lake and Ban Gioc Waterfall guided by Mr. Long. He was very knowledgable and passionate about sharing Vietnam with us. Mr. Long was very in tune with our interests and adapted the tour accordingly. We swam, rock-jumped and kayaked in the beautiful lake, had a delicious BBQ dinner, visited caves and learned many interesting facts at different pit stops along the way. Highly recommend. A shoutout to Dr Duy for being a safe and patient driver who stopped every time I needed to use the restroom.
Our private tour with Mr. Linh's Adventures was one of the highlights of my travels within Vietnam! Our tour guide, Mr. Long, and driver, Mr. Duy, were both incredibly kind and patient. Mr. Long spoke great English, was very knowledge about the local cultures and their histories, and was overall a pleasure to traveling with. The sights were absolutely breathtaking and worth the long stretches of driving. The homestays, food and activities far exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing the true beauty of northern Vietnam. Helen from Mr. Linh's Adventures was also very responsive and answered any questions of ours before the trip.
Mr. Long is an excellent tour guide who is passionate about sharing Vietnam’s diverse history, nature and cultures. He is a natural story teller and offered rich narratives when introducing us to each site/stop on our busy itinerary. We felt like he and Mr. Duy (our driver) catered to our every need! This is a wonderful trip if you want to experience Vietnam’s natural wonders and visit villages of hospitable ethnic minorities (like the Tay or the Hmong), eat their local dishes and watch them work their craft (paper-making, blacksmiths, incense-making). If you’re lucky, you might even get the opportunity to participate in some of their craft. We arrived at the paper making village just in time to help the locals with parts of their paper-making process! Needless to say, Mr. Long and his team have a lovely relationship with the locals and their positive rapport definitely contributed to the smiles, laughter and memories we shared on this tour. Thank Mr. Linh’s Adventure for a wonderful trip!
We did the tour as a group of six and had the most amazing three days. Our driver Mr. Duy (I hope I’m spelling that correctly) was so friendly and our tour guide Mr. Long was knowledgable, enthusiastic and fun. There was a lot of driving but the sights were so worth it. The food was local and delicious. Both home stays were comfortable and in beautiful surroundings.
With a wonderful guide (Mr. Long), amazing scenery and good accommodation, the adventure did not disappoint! Roughly 12 hours of driving to go through the whole experience......Mr. Long is very experienced and informative, and the history/tradition that you discover is a pleasure. Cameras are a must!
The whole family enjoyed the great trip with amazing scenery and great food and a very friendly guide, Mr. Long. Although there is lots of driving, it was worth it! Recommend the tour and Mr. Linh's Adventure!
was a pleasure trip with Mr Linh! We did 3d/2n trip to the Northern Vietnam. We traveled by the small group. Travels to the North is not easy and important to have experienced driver. We were lucky that our driver was one of them. Our guide Mr Long was so friendly and experienced! He told us a lot of the life of locals and the history of the spots. We seen so many beautiful places. Local homestays were so hospitable and friendly. We felt almost like home. The food also was good we ate too much =))) Highly recommend Mr Linh's adventure!
Long and Mr. Linh were lovely and SO accommodating throughout our 3 day trip. They're both a wealth of knowledge and hospitality. Our group had the nicest time all due to them!
Getting up into Vietnam's wild northeast is not easy, and Mr. Linh's outfit is a pretty clear best option among relatively few decent operators. The 3-day Ba Be and Ban Gioc trip was as advertised and about what we expected - rural homestays and lots of driving. Seeing Ban Gioc Waterfall on the Viet-Chinese border was worth it, and the 'Tiger Cave' was quite a sight to see, too. On this tour we also hiked along the border with China to Ho Chi Minh's digs upon his return to Vietnam. Long stretches in the back of the van are the key drawback of this tour, but at this point, if you want to see Ban Gioc, there's really no better way.
Definitely off the beaten path! Since less tours are running due to Covid, we often found ourselves being the only ones at certain locations like the caves and out at the first home stay. We essentially had a private tour as it was just my husband, myself and one other person. Our guide, Sonny took good care of us every step of the way. We always felt safe with our driver and he often got us places ahead of schedule. Would recommend to anyone who is down for an adventure at a good pace. The drive alone was incredibly entertaining just looking out the window. May be difficult for some during the second and third day of you get car sick as it is a lot of twists and turns in the mountains. Overall my husband and I are quite happy with this tour and who use this company again in the future.
It was a pleasure to travel the tour with Mr Linh Adventures We have seen many beautiful places, the driver and the guide were very friendly. He told us a lot of the life and the agriculture
