3 Day/2 Night Halong-lan Ha Bay 5 Star Cruise With Balcony Cabin

Our Halong Bay cruise was pure joy. Lam was our attendant for the stay and she was professional, warm and friendly. She really made the stay so much more.

Pretty damn fabulous! Cool older boat, well updated and spiffy everywhere! The trip itself was amazing with day 2 being the highlight not many people book the three day so day two only has a few guests, in our case four! We had a private guide and kayak trip to the cave with no other boats anywhere. Exceptional day! The crew onboard were excellent!!

This was truly an incredible experience. We absolutely loved our room, the staff and the activities. Honestly everything was very amazing and would leap at the opportunity to recommend this to anyone. The ONLY things that perhaps didn’t meet expectations were the food- felt as it was a little low quality and not much variety. Dinner was often a little uncomfortable due to the other passengers and was often very hot/warm within the dining hall.

We really enjoyed onboarding on this tour, which started exploring Ninh Binh, and continued in the fantastic Lan Ha Bay. The activities have been really nice, and included a bike tour, kayaking, hiking and a few others. The food has always been delicious, especially on the cruise; in particular, the dinner on the cruise looked like a one star Michelin dinner. They have always made their best to respect us being vegetarian. The staff was really kind and they were speaking English very well. The rooms on the cruise are simply amazing: large, with balcony and a hot thub with a wonderful view on the outside. I definitely recommend this tour, we couldn’t ask for more!

We especially enjoyed chatting with him and learning more about Vietnam, its people and its fascinating culture. His knowledge and friendliness added such a personal touch to our experience. One of the absolute highlights was celebrating my 50th birthday on board. The team made the evening incredibly special — they surprised me during dinner by singing Happy Birthday and presenting me with a beautiful birthday cake. It was such a thoughtful and memorable moment, and one I will treasure forever. The day trips and excursions were also fantastic and gave us the opportunity to experience the incredible natural beauty of Ha Long and Lan Ha Bay. Everything was well organised and enjoyable. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, welcoming and committed to providing excellent service. The attention to detail throughout the cruise was outstanding. Thank you to Nam and the entire Orient Legacy team for making our time in Vietnam — and especially my milestone birthday — so incredibly special. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the La Regina Grand. We booked a triple room for our family of 4 and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to the largest suite on the boat with a private jacuzzi and two private balconies. It was an amazing room. Very clean and comfortable. The staff are so kind. The food and drinks are also very good. Will definitely recommend and hope to come back one day!

The entire crew was very friendly and gave us a warm welcome on board. They were very well organized and extremely helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The food was outstanding. There was a breakfast buffet, and in the evenings, a varied five-course menu was served. The program was very diverse: We visited many caves, went canoeing, and took a boat trip through the beautiful scenery of Halong Bay, where we also enjoyed a delicious lunch. We visited a pearl farm and were taken through a cave in a bamboo boat, where we even saw some monkeys. We stayed for three days, which was a great decision.

Halong Bay is beautiful. The three-day cruise allows you to see part of the bay that day trippers don’t get to see. The staff was top notch. The buffet meals were very good. The more formal plates dinners were not. The beds are hard (which I like). The linens were good quality. The balcony was not comfortable. It’s tiny and basically has 2 barstools for seating. Not somewhere I want to sit. There was a bad issue with mosquitos in my cabin which the staff did their best to address. I believe they are coming in through cracks in the bathroom window. As a partially disabled person it was difficult to transfer to the other boats but the crews were gracious and assisted me which I appreciated.

The trip was spectacular! Great staff, food and day trips. The room was great loved the wood bath tub! What a great experience could have stayed one more day and night. Wo highly re this tour.

Great time 3 Day Cruise Luxury 5 star cruise, What a wonderful excursion, so glad we did this. After the chaotic yet vibrant Hanoi, we were ready for some relaxing! Kayaking in Ha Long Bay was so calming and beautiful, loved admiring the landscape. Relaxing in the pool with the mountain back drop was so surreal! The food and activities on board were better than I imagined. What really set this trip apart though were the staff. Wyn was always smiling at our meals, asking of our day and seemed to really take interest in us, she is pretty special. Lewis also must be mentioned! His contagious smile warmed my heart; loved his spring roll class and also how he mingled amongst guest. Highly recommend!

Booked a solo cruise 3x days 2x nights on the trip advisor website. The local operator then repeatedly tried to charge me an additional USD 170 for solo travel (as opposed to a couple traveling) in violation of the trip advisor t&cs. I felt like I was being scammed and it’s only when I reported the issue to trip advisor that the additional charge was swiftly dropped. Also note these cruises are advertised as 3x days 2x nights, it really is 2x days 2x nights since you start midday on the first day and finish midday on the third day. So they are missold. In terms of the overall experience, I felt this was like a conveyor belt of tourists so popular is the cruise. Some sites were completely overrun by crowds even though this was not the highest season, and you did see a fair amount of plastic on some beaches. The boat proper was good, the room with balcony fantastic and the staff could not be faulted for their endeavour for what must be a very difficult and tiring job handling a constant stream of tourists from all over the world. That’s why my review is 2 stars instead of one. Because of them, they deserve better from the agency. I’ve been 3x weeks in Vietnam and I would rate this my worst experience. I think this could have been good on a privately chartered boat far away from the crowds and usual sites.

We travelled to Halong Bay for an Orchid Classic Cruise lasting 2 nights/3 days. This was a remarkable experience which we cannot fault. The crew were kind, polite and went out of their way to provide a wonderful experience. The ship was beautiful, lovely rooms, all with private balconies and a fabulous dining room, with a great bar on the upper deck for Happy Hour and a cooking class. It was great fun and we enjoyed some fun times together with other passengers. Tai Chi on the upper deck was a treat; watching the moon go down and the sun come up, in the middle of such stunning scenery, is an experience not to miss! We highly recomnend this cruise - we had a wonderful time, whilst seeing a beautiful place. Trudy and Keith Simpson

No evening entertainment available. The captain announces everything over the tannoy, which makes it impossible to sleep in. Our independent tour guide for our day trip to the caves and pearl farm, Hoi, was exceptional in every way. He went above and beyond.

The cruise is incredible and must to do if you are visiting Vietnam. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Food was great even vegetarian options were decent. The activities are also very interesting and well planned like kayaking, cave visit, cooking etc. the best part for me was relaxing at the cruise on a chair with a drink and enjoying the magical views of the bay. The manager also got us an upgrade to their queen suite which made it even more special. Totally worth the price we paid.

Absolutely amazing - Crew was amazing. Rooms were super and clean. Activities were super fun and thoroughly planned. Breakfast was plenty and had many, many options and Dinner was FineDining. Ship 1 had anchor problems and we were the only ones on board to do the 2 night cruise - AthenaCruise organised a perfectly orchestrated tranfer to ship 2 and upgraded us to the Royal Suit unprompted - that was amazingly sweet of them and we are immensely grateful. Would recommend this cruise any time !! Be sure to book the 2night/3day option - you will not regret it

We loved this cruise. The bath overlooking Halong Bay was sensational. The service was amazing and so much quality food included. We had a great time.

We loved our trip to Ha Long Bay! The boat was very comfortable and our room was gorgeous with a balcony and tub bath. The staff was extremely attentive to our every need. The food was very good, a mix of buffet style for lunch and breakfast and then plated meal for dinner. You do have to pay extra for any drinks you want. The excursions are great, including swimming, kayaking, and bicycle riding. I would definitely recommend the two nights stay because you get to do more activities and the one night seemed very rushed.

Excellent service, really friendly crew. Dark caves was amazing but only kayak if you have experience as there is little guidance. Staff went above and beyond to ensure your safety and comfort. The whole area is beautiful 🤩

I recently went on a boat trip that was an absolute highlight of my vacation. The views were breathtaking – calm waters, gentle breeze.But what really stood out to me was the service on board, especially from Lam, one of the waitresses. Lam was incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the trip. She always had a smile on her face and made sure everyone was well taken care of, whether it was offering refreshing drinks, serving snacks, or simply checking in to see if we needed anything.

We spent 2 days and one night here at the La Regiona and it was a great experience. The kayaking is highly recommended and the service was also great.

Our cruise was with a different ship as advertised. We were so upset with the cruise. Our Cruise liner was called the La Regina grand. Nice ship and nice crew but having stayed 2 nights was a total waste of time. I would recommend anyone going to Halong bay to bypass the 2 night stay. They go to the same sites on both days.

We did not get what we thought we bought based on the photos and itinerary. We wanted to see floating village and cycle but that was not on our itinerary. We had a small room with tint balcony. After querying this, it was our own error as we ticked the Ha Long Bay option and not Lan Ha Bay. However, the staff were wonderful and even upgraded our room for the second night. The onboard team were excellent and guides were wonderful. All were very attentive and friendly and really cared that we were having a wonderful time. The Athena cruise line was traditional and very nice. We had two cruise directors as there was a chang-over occurring. Tim was wonderful and very knowledgeable. We then had his assistant, Michael, who was hoping to step into the role permanently some day. Michael too waa so helpful and wonderful - as a manager of a team myself, I would definitely be thinking about getting Michael into the senior role permanently soon!! We had a day boat via another company for day 2. This was well organised but spoilt by one entitled Indian group who stood their children on the food tables in filthy shoes, changed nappies and left them lying over the boat and played Indian music loud while people were trying to relax on the day boat or beach. Thankfully the day boat staff did manage the situation as best they could. We were both so pleased with the tour in the end. We were shocked at how much rubbish floated in Ha Long Bay. We caught up with many Aussies and Europeans who were all disappointed with what we saw floating by and washed up on the beaches - definitely not what the adverts show!

Staff on the boat were excellent, accommodation and food excellent. Most activities were excellent but we were talked out of doing the light & dark cave trip because the guide told us a lie saying that we might have to wait an hour after finishing the cave visit as the transfer boat was busy picking up new guests. This was told to me at 2.30pm. I found out that night that all the new guests were on the La Casta cruise boat by 1.00pm. I believe that because there were only 2 of us booked on the caves activity the tour guide didn't want to take us! Very very disappointing! Apart from this the 3 day 2 night La Casta cruise was excellent!

The boat, food and staff were all great. Only downsides are the drinks are expensive (relative to Vietnam prices) and sadly there is a lot of garbage floating in the Halong Bay waters (but this has nothing to do with the cruise).
