The Royal Hotel

Stayed here 2 nights for my Hanoi trip in the middle of April, the room as it first appear to my eyes was absolutely nice, booked from OTA booking and I saved a lot. Will be back and definitely on my white list

We arrived there at 11 pm after a long flight to be told our booking had been cancelled , and they had no vacant rooms . they then took us to a B grade hostel down the road . We were so tired we took the room even though it was not clean , The next day we went back to the Royal and were given the room we had booked . That night we went to bed only to be woken up at 2am when workers started to pour concrete in a building next to our room, So another night with out much sleep, That morning we moved out .

Currently staying in this hotel, claimed 3 * but only has a plaque with one in the reception. Seemed great to start but quickly became a nightmare. Whole hotel stank of smoke ashtrays in the rooms, reception and hallways despite having no smoking everywhere. Have had a long list of other issues including being woken up every morning at 7am or earlier by banging and drilling, breakfast on the first day was brought to our room (nice touch) but then just forgotten the other days despite paying for it. They all just add up. Not fussy normally but payed a fair amount and expect decent service for this.

The people working here are really cool! Rooms are big, privacy is respected and location is a nice 5 min walk away from Westlake.
