Neat spacious suites. We had a 2 bedroom one. Comfortable. Windows aren’t double glazed so could be a bit noisy at night but close to everything which is great. Curtains old and bit grubby. Facilities in whole hotel fantastic! Restaurant was so yummy too.Staff fantastic! Highly recommend.

had an unpleasant experience regarding the “Unlimited Buffet.” The hotel advertises it as an unlimited buffet, so naturally I understood that the meals included in our booking could be enjoyed without a strict limitation on the amount of food. I informed the staff in advance that I would need the next day’s meal as a takeaway, because my son would be eating outside and was not familiar with the buffet system. However, they refused to provide the meal as takeaway, saying that the buffet is only for dining inside the restaurant. My issue is not with having a specific policy, but with the lack of clarity. If “unlimited buffet” means that the food can only be consumed inside the restaurant and cannot be provided as a takeaway meal, this should be clearly stated to guests. I believe the hotel should communicate its policies more clearly and show more flexibility toward guests, especially when the meal is already included in the booking. Staff of the buffet were actually so rude and cant take in english nor the staff on the lobby. So you cant really have a conversation and understand whats really going on….
Somerset Grand Hanoi is an excellent place to stay, especially if you’re looking for the comfort of a serviced apartment with the convenience of a hotel. Its central location makes it easy to get around the city and access major business and tourist areas. The staff are exceptionally polite, welcoming, and always ready to help, making the entire stay smooth and comfortable. The service is prompt and professional, and the rooms are remarkably spacious, well-maintained, and equipped with all the essential amenities for both short and extended stays. I had a wonderful experience during my stay and would gladly choose Somerset Grand again on my next visit to Hanoi. Highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers.
Stayed in a 2 BR executive with my 2 kids. The kids loved their own single beds. The hardwood floors were new and kept clean. The bathroom with the bath tub was a bit dated. Overall, we like how spacious the rooms were, and the washer/dryer was helpful. The service and staff went above and beyond and we're just great. The gym was good and air-conditioned. The pool was huge and had a 6ft deep end. The shopping smart attached to the first floor was super convenient. Location wise, lots of restaurants nearby. Short grab ride to old and French quarter. Very good value overall and recommended for families.
We stayed at Somerset Grand Hanoi for two nights in a Deluxe 2-Bedroom Apartment with breakfast included. Our apartment was located on the 22nd floor and offered good views of the city. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped. One feature we particularly appreciated was the washer and dryer in the kitchen, which was very useful. The hotel provided two complimentary packets of laundry detergent, and additional packets were supplied upon request. There was also a large dispenser of drinking water in the kitchen, which was a thoughtful touch. The beds were comfortable, although some guests may find the mattresses slightly firm. The pillows, however, were quite flat and could be improved. One issue we noticed was that the master bathroom was unusually warm throughout our stay, possibly due to the location of the air-conditioning compressor outside. Breakfast was average and offered the usual selection found in many serviced apartments, including a live egg station and noodle/soup station. Unfortunately, the service at breakfast was disappointing. Despite the restaurant being relatively quiet, I had to request my sunny-side-up eggs three times before receiving them, as the cook seemed more interested in chatting with colleagues. The staff managing the cutlery near the egg station were also quite noisy, and the background music was unnecessarily loud for the morning. Coffee from the machine was rather weak and diluted, so we ended up using our own coffee instead. One area where the property excels is its gym. The fitness centre is spacious, modern, and very well-equipped. Unfortunately, I only had the opportunity to use it once. The gym and swimming pool share the same changing facilities, and it is worth noting that the toilets do not have bidets. The location is convenient, situated just outside Hanoi's Old Quarter. While it is possible to walk to the main attractions, expect a 15-20 minute walk. There are several restaurants nearby, including an Indian restaurant, Namaste, within easy walking distance. The biggest area for improvement would be the overall service. The staff were generally disengaged. On several occasions, there were four or five staff members standing at reception, yet no one acknowledged us with a greeting or even a simple hello except the doorman. A warmer and more welcoming attitude would greatly enhance the guest experience. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The spacious apartments, useful amenities, and excellent gym make Somerset Grand Hanoi a solid option for families and longer stays. However, improvements in staff engagement and breakfast service would help the property better match its potential.
