Their service is topnotch. The breakfast is very good. They even added another cup of dried veggies when I asked them to. When I only waited at the lobby, they offered me sweet dried ginger and veggies with fruit juice. Thanks to Kaycee. She is very helpful and speaking English is not a problem. I ordered dried veggies. They are delicious.
Beyond our good expectations Perfect location while staying in Hanoi old quarters. Its a few minutes to every place need to visit n old quarters. I love the breakfast buffet included for the varieties and good quality food and staff service. The buffet place ambience is exceeded our expectations. We have tried to have our dinner with a good food and service as well as located at the 10 floor with a good view of the surrounding place. We will definitely book here on our next visit. Special mentioned to Ms Jen from customer service for her dedication to make sure Shining Central Hotel and Spa guest will be treated well even before the arrival till checking out. Overall a decent experience, but not worth the price we paid.The hotel was overall okay, but honestly, it did not meet my expectations considering the price we paid. The facilities and amenities were quite average, and the room we were given was well below average.The most unusual part was the washroom and hand basin being inside the room, which simply did not make much sense to us and was not something we expected at this price point. Having said that, the staff were absolutely wonderful and easily the best part of our stay. The front desk and reception team, as well as the cleaning staff, were extremely helpful, polite, supportive, sweet and kind throughout. Kudos to the entire staff they genuinely made the stay better. The hotel itself, however, needs to offer much more in terms of rooms, facilities and overall value for the price being charged.
Unfortunately, my experience at Shining Hotel did not match either its 5-star positioning or the expectations created by the many positive reviews. The property feels dated and, more importantly, cleanliness was well below what I would expect from a hotel in this category. My room had the sink directly inside the bedroom and several areas simply did not feel properly clean. I am attaching photos because I think they explain this better than words. Breakfast was good, and I appreciated some aspects of the service. I also want to mention that when I questioned the additional 5% charge for paying by credit card, which I had not found clearly disclosed when booking, the hotel refunded it. They also kindly offered me a complimentary airport transfer as a compensation, which I genuinely appreciated. What made the experience very uncomfortable, however, was the pressure surrounding reviews. At checkout I was repeatedly asked to leave a very positive rating and told that staff could be reprimanded by management otherwise. I had already given reasonably positive feedback, but I could not honestly describe the overall stay as excellent. I think reviews are particularly important in cases like this. I chose this hotel largely because of its excellent ratings, and guests should be able to distinguish between friendly service and the actual standard of the property. Staff can be kind and helpful while the hotel itself still falls short of what its category suggests. I am therefore leaving this review, and the accompanying photos, simply to give future guests a clearer picture of what to expect.
