Le Chanvre Hanoi Hotel & Spa

Good stay in the old quarter. Small but comfortable room with good beds. Our room on 7th floor had a view over some nearby buildings. Rooftop pool affords a nice view over the old quarter. Pool could accommodate 10-20 persons yet unreasonably only 3 chaises are available. Pool would benefit from a very good cleaning. Breakfast was tasty with fresh fruit juices as a highlight. The chicken and beef pho are both excellent. Pastries seem like they could be fresher. Servers at breakfast are helpful and polite. Check in process was unnecessarily lengthy. At checkout staff will inspect room before you leave lobby. Overall, a good stay if you want something affordable and comfortable in the old quarter.

Comfortable room with some minor issues that aren’t a big problem. Excellent location with an outstanding staff who are not only friendly, but really experienced at anticipating common issues and readily offer very useful solutions. The breakfast was wonderful on the top floor with great service. Definitely recommend this hotel to first time travelers to Hanoi.

Centrally located right in the heart of the Old Quarter, it was the kindness and hospitality of the staff that set this hotel apart. They were accommodating to every request and made our stay an absolute pleasure. Beautifully ornate rooms replete with amazing baths. The pillows were amongst the best I have experienced at any hotel, ever. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel wholeheartedly 🥰

I liked this hotel quite a lot and would stay again if staying in Old Town. It is very close to the lake and in the middle of a lot of tourist activity, shops, etc. it’s easy to walk to most sights within 20 minutes. The staff are fantastic and attentive. Rooms are soundproof to the outside but not the hallway and it can be noisy in the hall at times but usually very quiet until 7 am. I had one unfortunate night of drunken partiers at 2 am but that was an exception. My room was a decent size for Hanoi - perfect for one but maybe small for two unless you ask for a luggage rack (space for one suitcase and no drawers). I stayed on the eighth floor and had windows that looked over the rooftops and streets of Hanoi with good natural light. Breakfast offers many options and eggs cooked to order. Let them know in advance if you have dietary restrictions and they will make sure you are taken care of. The pool is small and cute and has a great view (closes at 6 pm) and the gym is very small but fine for one person at a time with minimal equipment needs. Just details to know but not dealbreakers for me. Spa rooms looked nice but I didn’t book a treatment.
