The hotel is very comfortable, with well-appointed, cozy, and quiet facilities.
The location is perfect, within walking distance of all the Old Quarter's attractions.
On the first night, there was an issue with the air conditioning; it made noise all night long. (I barely slept). The next morning, the hotel moved us to a larger, premium room without any problem whatsoever.
The breakfast was excellent, and the service was stellar and friendly.
If we return to Hanoi, we will likely stay here again.
A great find in the centre of Hanoi. Anna and her team were so helpful and attentive. The hotel is in a great location. The rooms are clean and very spacious. The staff are lovely. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone going to Hanoi.
Rooms are dingy and smelly as there is no ventilation. Washbasin in the Bathroom was blocked. No maintainance. Very dark coloured interior which gives a very shabby look. Breakfast was very average. If planning to stay in Hanoi Old quarters, go for area near the Lake, that is the happening area. The staff was also very unfriendly. They did not change the Bed linen from the previous guest and when asked them about this, they said since you have a booking for one night only, so they did not change. Disgusting.
Stayed at Grande Collection Hotel & Spa and while the property looks very appealing in photos, our actual experience felt quite different and a bit disappointing given the price point.
The room felt smaller and darker than expected, and overall upkeep could be improved. The bathroom cleanliness and maintenance were not at hotel standard, with visible molds and some wear and tear such as a cracked mirror and buildup in the shower area. The linens and pillows were comfortable but did not feel as fresh as expected, which affected the overall impression.
That said, the staff were polite and helpful, and we appreciated that the shower amenities were pleasant and the hot/cold water worked well. Breakfast was also acceptable.
Overall, it just felt like the experience did not fully match the pricing and the photos shown online, which made it feel a bit unfair from a guest expectation standpoint. The place has potential, but it needs better consistency in maintenance and room presentation to match how it is marketed.
I had originally shortlisted Grande Collection Hotel & Spa for my stay in Hanoi but booked elsewhere. Unfortunately, one of my other reservations fell through at the last minute, so I needed an alternative for a single night and returned to this hotel.
I initially checked Booking.com, which listed a room for 1,560,000 VND - a fair price for last minute booking. Before placing reservation, I decided to inquire at the hotel reception directly to see if they could offer a better rate since I know Booking.com takes at least 15% fee from the hotels. When I mentioned my situation and the Booking.com rate, the receptionist checked her system and then asked me to verify the Booking.com price again. At that point, the rate in Booking.com mobile app had increased to 2,360,000 VND. She then kindly offered a direct booking rate of 1,800,000 VND per night and I had no other choice then to accept that offer. While I cannot prove it, I suspect the rate change may have been influenced by her actions on the laptop before closing it.
Despite the pricing issue, the room itself was very good and meeting all our expectations - likely the best of the three hotels we stayed at in Hanoi during this trip: modern and well designed, very quiet, no windows facing the street. The hotel overall was good, and breakfast was enjoyable. The only odd thing to mention was one of the towels in our room was obviously ripped, but still actively used to serve the customers. Not good...
My takeaway: lock in a good rate if possible, and don't expect much grace from the receptionists. If they can take advantage of you - they may choose to do so.
