When I first arrived at Flora Centre Hotel & Spa, I was honestly a little disappointed because I wasn’t expecting the building to be so small. However, after spending some time in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, I realized that this kind of narrow, retro-style building is actually very typical of hotels in this area. Apart from that first impression, my experience was actually very positive. The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the service throughout my stay was excellent. The breakfast was also very good, and overall I felt well looked after. Unfortunately, there are two reasons why I personally would not stay here again. The biggest issue is the internet. I work online, so a stable connection is essential for me, and unfortunately the Wi-Fi here was among the worst I have experienced in a hotel. I eventually had to buy two local SIM cards just to make sure I could continue working reliably. For someone who only needs Wi-Fi for basic browsing, this may not be such a serious problem, but for anyone working remotely, it is definitely something to consider. The second issue is the gym. Although the hotel lists a gym, I found it pretty much unusable in practice and wouldn’t recommend choosing the hotel specifically for this facility. Other than these two issues, I would happily give the hotel five stars. The staff and service deserve particular praise, and I genuinely enjoyed the hospitality. With a major improvement to the Wi-Fi and gym, this would be a much easier hotel for me to recommend without hesitation.

I had a great experience at the Flora. My room—the cheapest one on offer—was excellent for the price. Comfy bed, AC worked flawlessly (and even works when you are not in the room!!), bathroom/shower/water pressure and temperature was perfect as well. Room would definitely be cramped with two people, but for a solo traveler it was totally fine. I didn’t ever eat breakfast at the hotel so I can’t comment there. Service was excellent too. Great or good enough English from the front desk, and they were able to expedite my laundry to accommodate a next-day flight. Overall I recommend this place 100%. I saw a bunch of bad reviews and was worried before I came, but rest assured this place must be a lot better now, and the value is excellent. Oh, and this isn’t even to mention the perfect location right at the edge of the old quarter!
Flora Centre Hotel & Spa was a decent budget option for our stay in Hanoi, but it didn’t quite match the expectations. Despite being called a “Hotel & Spa”, we didn’t see any spa facilities during our stay. The location is excellent and within easy walking distance of many of Hanoi’s main attractions, restaurants and cafés. It’s in a busy, bustling part of the city, but our room was surprisingly quiet, so we had no trouble sleeping. The room itself was very small, although the bed and pillows were comfortable. The hotel generally felt a little untidy and could benefit from some better upkeep, particularly in the common areas. Breakfast was good, with enough variety to start the day well. This was the only hotel we stayed at in Vietnam that wouldn’t allow us to check in even a little early. They were happy to store our luggage while we went out exploring, which we appreciated, but after several other hotels had been very accommodating with early arrivals, it stood out. Overall, this is a reasonable budget hotel in a convenient location. It’s not luxurious, but it was comfortable enough for a short stay. We felt we got what we paid for.
This place is definitely not a 4 star hotel! The staff was nice. But the room was nothing like expected. One of the windows in the room didn’t have a latch and would not close all the way. The connecting family rooms are connected by a closed off hall not the rooms. But since we were the last set of rooms it was quiet. We could get no cold water in the bathroom (weird) and the sinks would not drain. Location is great; love the old quarter!
The establishment is beautifully decorated and perfectly located, right in the heart of Hanoi's old quarter and a stone's throw from the lake. This central location is ideal for visiting all the tourist attractions in the city. The breakfast buffet is varied and of good quality. The entire hotel team is both professional and welcoming, always available. The hotel offers services, such as booking taxis or currency exchange, which make the stay easier.
