Elegant Suites Westlake

Unfortunately, our stay at Elegant Suites Westlake was disappointing, mainly because of the condition of the room. Our suite on the 8th floor had significant humidity and a strong smell of mold, with visible signs of moisture around the air-conditioning unit and on the walls. This was not simply the normal humidity of Hanoi; there were clear signs of a moisture problem inside the room. More importantly, both of us woke up the following morning feeling unwell, with headaches, nasal congestion and runny noses. Because we were concerned about the conditions in the room and how we were feeling, we decided that we could not stay another night and checked out early. We contacted the hotel and Booking.com regarding the situation and provided photographs of the moisture damage. Unfortunately, the hotel refused to refund the unused nights, referring to the non-refundable booking conditions. We found this particularly disappointing given the circumstances. The hotel also feels quite outdated. Although it was originally built with good-quality materials, many aspects no longer feel appropriate for the price. The TV is not a Smart TV, the mattress is a spring mattress, the air-conditioning system appears old, and the suite, despite costing around €100 per night, was essentially just a large space without many modern amenities. There was not even a second TV in the bedroom. The staff were polite and tried to help, and the swimming pool is large and nice, but unfortunately these positives could not compensate for the problems with the room. The humidity, strong mold smell and the fact that we felt unwell the following morning were the main reasons we had to leave. I would strongly recommend that the hotel addresses these issues and modernizes the rooms before charging prices at this level.

Stayed here for two weeks and would happily come back. The staff are exceptional—they quickly learned our names and went above and beyond to help with anything we needed. Nothing ever seemed like too much trouble, and they genuinely cared about making our stay as comfortable as possible. Our one-bedroom apartment was spacious, comfortable, and had a beautiful view of West Lake. The pool, gym, and spa were all excellent, and the massages are fantastic value. There is major construction outside as the Quang An area is being redeveloped, but the rooms are so well insulated that we couldn't hear a thing. Plenty of restaurants nearby, and Grab makes getting around easy. Highly recommended for both short and long stays.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding. The staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to help. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, elegantly designed, and decorated with great taste. Everything feels modern, luxurious, and very well maintained. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options that cater well to international guests. Another big advantage is that the staff speak fluent English, which made communication easy and comfortable throughout my stay. I arrived by car and was pleased to find convenient parking available. There are only a couple of minor drawbacks. During the evening hours, I was unable to reach the front desk by phone, which was a bit disappointing. Also, the location is somewhat isolated, and the surrounding area has a lot of sandy and undeveloped terrain, and construction (but still the rooms are noise proof) making it less convenient to explore on foot. That said, these were relatively small issues compared to the overall experience. The hotel is clean, luxurious, new, and clearly very well cared for. I would definitely stay here again.

Amazing hotel, perfect for escaping the chaos of the Old Quarter while still being close enough for a short ride in. The staff were excellent and very helpful, assisting with anything we needed. The swimming pool was fantastic, and there’s also a great on-site gym. Breakfast was top-notch, and there are several highly rated restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommended if you want to wind down and relax while still enjoying Hanoi.
