This hotel was organised by the Yangtze River Cruises company. Stayed for 2 nights. The service is more 3 stars than 5 stars. No dining or in-room dining past 8.30 p.m. which we were told is the last order. It feels almost like a concerted effort to encourage guests to dine at the near by restaurants. Breakfast buffet is limited. The plus is very large rooms with very large bathrooms. Comfortable bed. Clean. Another big plus is that the famous West Lake is across the road from the hotel. When we do return to Hangzhou, we will not stay here as we have discovered on this first trip that there is at least one proper 5 stars hotel brand which we are familiar with, which is also just across the road from the West Lake. The Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Hangzhou is a great option for travelers who want to stay in a central and convenient location. The hotel is very close to the scenic West Lake, making it ideal for sightseeing and relaxing walks.
It’s also near Wulin Night Market and within walking distance of Hubin shopping street, where you’ll find plenty of dining and shopping options. Wulin Square is about a 7-minute drive away—accessible, though not particularly convenient to walk.
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Housekeeping standards are solid, which makes for a pleasant stay.
Breakfast is good, with a decent variety of both local and international choices. Service is another highlight—the staff are friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout the stay.

A well-located hotel near West Lake with clean rooms, good breakfast, and friendly service—great for travelers who want convenience without being right in the busiest areas.
While booking I was told with customer service that all meals are included and it is confirmed. When I went there I was asked to purchase breakfast extra. Also room was full of flies and mosquitoes. The hotel had many Indian visitors. Despite that they acted vague for vegetarian dishes in breakfast. The staff doesn't understand and pretend not to understand basic English.
There is no way to communicate to wyndham for complaints and the member service staff is communicating wrong information

Amazing hotel! Huge and absolutely stunning room- the bathroom and the bedroom.
Great location- a short walk to the corner of west lake and to restaurants and shops.
Great English speaking staff who was very helpful and super friendly. The price we paid was relatively cheap maybe it’s because they renovate the back of the hotel-no noise whatsoever. Highly recommended
